Elena!!!

"You passed! You passed!!" exclaimed Kate, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"TIME told you to come!"

"What? Are you serious? TIME chose me?!" Elena's disbelief resonated in her voice.

"Yesssssssssssss!" Kate responded, the joy evident in her words, and the two best friends shared an ecstatic hug—kyaaaa....

"Sis, I'm not dreaming, ain't I?!" Elena questioned, seeking confirmation in the surreal moment.

"It's real, silly! You cry again!" Kate teased, both of them reveling in the joy of this unexpected turn of fate.

"TIME" is a new movie by director Winston Hale, a luminary in the Hollywood movie industry. The mere mention of the film sent ripples of anticipation through the industry, and Elena found herself caught in its shimmering wake.

Elena's inner thoughts danced in her beautiful mind. "Two months ago, I auditioned to be the female lead... but I gave up because no one contacted me." She raised her hands in prayer to the sky, expressing her gratitude for the unexpected twist of destiny.

"Finally! I'm freed from 7 years of ambiguity!" Elena exclaimed, a mix of relief and joy flooding her being. The shadows of uncertainty that had clouded her career were dissipating, and a new chapter was about to unfold in the dazzling world of Hollywood.

Elena's journey through the glimmering world of entertainment unfolded like a mosaic of shadows, each piece casting its unique imprint on her career.

In coffee ads, she found herself strategically placed—side profile, away from the main female figure. The subtle art of positioning spoke volumes about her standing in the industry at the time.

In teen dramas, she stood beside the female lead, a significant step closer to the spotlight, yet still existing in the shadows of the protagonist's glow.

Sports ads presented another challenge. Positioned behind the main female actor, Elena became a part of the dynamic background, a silent force propelling the narrative forward.

"Wait, it's not time to be happy. Do they not ask us to come and take the script? Don't we have to rush for the reading because the actress has been changed? Oh, maybe the shoot is pushed back?!" Elena's mind raced with a myriad of possibilities as she frantically checked her phone, a sense of urgency coursing through her.

"They told you to come to the shooting that will take place three days from now in Busan," Kate calmly revealed, injecting a dose of reality into Elena's whirlwind of thoughts.

"What?! Are you sure it's for shooting, not reading?!" Elena's eyes widened with disbelief.

"Yeah," confirmed Kate.

"Doesn't that mean I don't have any lines...?" Elena's expression shifted, a mixture of surprise and contemplation playing on her features. The unexpected twist in her anticipated role left her grappling with the unknown, an uncertainty that danced in the shadows of her newfound opportunity.

SIS! Elena placed her hand on Kate's shoulder, a mixture of excitement and trepidation in her eyes.

"Is it truly for... Harper's part?!" she questioned, her voice carrying the weight of anticipation.

"Huh? Harper? But they said it's for Suzy..." Kate responded, confusion knitting her brows.

Thump. Elena felt her own heartbeat echoing like a drumbeat, the revelation causing her to fall back in a slump. A nervous laugh escaped her lips. "Hahahaha... Elena?!" Kate called out, concern evident in her voice.

Inner thoughts of Elena whispered, "I'm right."

"Elena?! What's wrong?" Kate's worry deepened.

Suzy, the character in question, was the male lead's ex, a haunting figure whose face resurfaced in multiple flashbacks. Her storyline was one of despair, ending in her own tragic demise.

Elena's thoughts painted a somber picture. "I knew it well because I already memorized all the lines..." Her expression reflected the gravity of the situation. "If I have to act as somebody who gave up hope on living, then maybe I can act it well."

"All right! Maybe I can play it well and steal public attention! When else can I act in 'TIME'?" Elena's optimism shone through, a beacon in the midst of uncertainty.

"Yup! Plus... now you can return it directly, the handkerchief!" Kate added with a mischievous smile.

"Yes... It's already been a year but," Elena admitted, a blush coloring her cheeks. The journey ahead was daunting, but perhaps in the shadows of Suzy's tragedy, Elena would find her own path to illuminate the screen.

-------------A year ago----------------

CUT! CUT!

"Hey! You! Red Ribbon girl!"

"How many times is it now that you're doing it wrong?! You're just an extra; however, you've been making mistakes, even the mistakes that even the leads didn't do!" bellowed the director.

"I'm sorry," Elena replied, her head hung low.

"Elena, are you okay?" Kate inquired.

"That director always scolds people whenever he's feeling unwell. Sorry, Elena; you got scolded for nothing," Kate explained.

"Sis, you don't need to apologize; it makes me feel bad," Elena replied. "Sis, I'm going to the bathroom," she added.

"Okay," said Kate.

clack clack, the sound of her heels echoed through the corridor.

Her thoughts echoed too. Hey! You! Red Ribbon!
clack clack, leaning against the wall, tears welled up in her eyes.

"Even though it's been six years since I started my career... no one remembers my name." She spoke to herself, wiping her face with her hands until she saw a handkerchief offered.

Her eyes widened in shock, and her mouth slightly opened when she saw Luca Moretti!!!

His black hair with striking blue eyes, a wide chest, and arms giving her the handkerchief.

Elena thought, "Why did he appear at times like this?!" Embarrassed and wiping her face with her sleeves, she said, "Ah, senior, I'm really sorry. The shooting is delayed because of me. I'm sor—"

She was not looking in his eyes, but he held the hand with which she was wiping her tears, and she looked up in surprise.

"That dress came from a sponsor, so you can't make it dirty. Use this instead to wipe your tears," said Luca while placing his handkerchief in her hands and holding the same hand gently.

"Thank you..." Elena said with pink cheeks, holding the blue customized handkerchief.

"Then I'm going," said Luca.

"Ah, the handkerchief?" said Elena.

"You don't have to return it, use it as you like," said Luca.

Elena, looking at the handkerchief, realized it looked expensive. Luca's side profile turned to Elena, and he said, "Oh," then made a full turn and asked, "What's your name?" His hands were in his pocket, and his shirt was wide open, revealing his well-built body.

Elena, with a shocked face, tears still in her eyes and lips slightly open, said, "N-name... Senior, my name is..." With happiness and a pink-tinted blush, she added, "Elena Nicolaidis."

---------Present--------------------------------------

Elena gazed at the handkerchief, thoughts swirling in her mind. "At that time, I couldn't say thank you because I wasn't feeling good." A soft blush adorned her cheeks as memories of that encounter resurfaced. The car ride continued, Kate at the wheel while Elena was lost in her own reflections.

Taking the handkerchief near her face, she mused, "Maybe he already forgot about me." Despite the uncertainty, the warmth of the fabric brought a sense of nostalgia and gratitude.

"However, I'm honored that I can play in the same movies as him." Elena's eyes sparkled with a mix of humility and excitement. The journey from that challenging day on set to the present moment, where she shared the screen with Luca Moretti, felt surreal.

"I can't wait!" she exclaimed, anticipation bubbling within her. The road ahead held the promise of new scenes, new stories, and perhaps, unexpected reunions.
