10: The Decision

After gathering everyone and alerting the people of Ocha Island that the threat has been dealt with, the Shizen Shinobis, along with Hiori and Haru, hurriedly head back to Aito's home. Once they arrive, they find Aito already at the household making lunch. Keiji and Akira-Sensei are laid on the same bed in a guest room and Haru starts the process of healing their spiritual waves. Team Keiji and Team Akira, along with Hiori, are seated at the large dining table discussing what occurred while Aito is cooking their meal.

"Wow! You guys fought against a member of the Namida Organization?" questions Shuji in awe.

"You betcha!" ecstatically yells back Tamaki.

"I-It must've been scary," mumbles Hiori as she stares at Tamaki's wrapped up injury.

"To be honest, I wasn't scared until I thought I would lose Kichi," states Tamaki as she holds her bandaged forearm.

"Do you regret it?" asks Hiori.

"What, no! I would rather sacrifice my life to save my friends then watch them die!" yells Tamaki with determination.

Hiori stares at Tamaki with awe as if something clicked in her mind.

"I think the blind guy went too easy on us," states Kichi as she gets the attention of everyone around her.

Hamura agrees and says, "The Namida Organization is an organization well-known for mass slaughters, so why would we get off so easily?"

"Here's the thing," says Tamaki as her posture straightens. "Keiji and Akira-sensei were about to get crushed. If Isamu hadn't stalled until we got there to take over, then I'm sure Buryuri would've been able to concentrate his sand cage to collapse on them more quickly. However; if we hadn't pinpointed Buryuri's weakness- his insecurities about being blind and water clogging his ears whenever he fell in the ocean, then we probably would have died." states Tamaki with a the most serious look on her face.

"I'm impressed," states Kichi as she notices Tamaki gaining brain cells.

"What? I like cheesecake," mumbles Tamaki as she slumps her chair once more.

Kichi sighs, "Never mind, but Tamaki is-"

Kichi is interrupted by a familiar sensei of hers.

"Right. Tamaki is right," says Keiji-Sensei as he and Akira-Sensei come out of the hallway.

"Sensei!" yells all the shinobis as they stare at their sensei with shock.

"We are fine. Haru healed our spiritual waves; however, we'll have to take it easy," explains Akira-Sensei with a smile as she and Keiji sit in their spots at the large table.

"Enough about us though, those who participated in the battle, stand up." says Keiji-Sensei as he waits while he stands.

Kichi, Tamaki, and Hamura stand up at the table with stares piercing through them.

"You three went against our orders. You were supposed to make sure that the villagers got off the island. You risked your lives without having any knowledge whatsoever. What do you three have to say about yourselves before I suspend you?" sternly asks Keiji as he glares at the young shinobis.

"I only sustained injury whenever Buryuri tried to kill Kichi. We had already taken him down- Or so we thought. Yes, it was a mistake on our part for celebrating before making sure he was done with his wrath. We also let him get away, another mistake I assume. However, you two would have died if we did not distract Buryuri. As a matter of fact, you two are at fault-" Tamaki is cut off by Kichi.

"Tamaki, we shouldn't argue with the wise," says Kichi as she feels that Tamaki goes too far whenever she becomes serious.

"I'm not arguing, I'm explaining. You both are at fault too. Isamu jumped in without making sure that things were safe. He is your responsibility Keiji-Sensei, and I think by now you would have talked to Isamu about his rebellious attitude- the one that affects situations like this. Akira-Sensei, Haru told me how you didn't summon him out of the cage before it was too late. You kept him in the cage to gnaw at the sandy bars that didn't seem to break away. You should have thought more clearly. You say we risked our lives without any knowledge, but you're wrong. Haru gave us the information you two couldn't because you two did not watch yourselves and let yourselves get caught by a blind man. Kichi only followed me to battle because she was concerned for me. Before I came, she was following orders," explains Tamaki seriously, surprising everyone in the room.

"Anything else?" asks Keiji with a stoic voice.

"I finished the orders before arriving to the scene," mumbles Hamura.

"Kichi?" says Keiji.

"Haru was also supervising us," answers Kichi.

"If that's so, then I was wrong to threaten you three with suspension due to being ignorant of how things turned out. I made assumptions without asking about certain things first, and I apologize," says Keiji as he tells the three to take their seats and sits down himself.

"That was quite tense Keiji-sensei," says Tamaki as she yawns and slumps in her chair once again.

"Straighten your posture Tamaki," says Kichi.

"No thanks mom, that's too much work," answers Tamaki as she lays her head on the table to nap.

"Are you seriously about to nap?" asks Kichi.

"Alrighty guys! I've finally finished cooking the fish and rice!" exclaims Aito as he brings a platter of fish and a huge bowl of rice into the room to set it on the table.

"Yes! Finally!" yells Tamaki with excitement as she jumps in her seat.

"Of course you'd become hyper once food is involved," says Kichi as she mentally facepalms.

Everyone is seated at the table, enjoying themselves through laughter and chatting. It became silent for a second, and that was when Hiori surprised everyone; more so scaring her guardian.

"I want to be a shinobi," states Hiori with innocence.

Aito choked on his tea as the others stared at her.

"What makes you say that, Hiori?" asks Keiji.

"I want to risk my life saving others, knowing that I'm doing good by doing so. Tamaki talking about how she selflessly injured herself to save her friend interests me. Helping the islanders get to safety pleased me. I want to continue this path," answers Hiori with a soft smile.

"Well, if Aito is okay with it, then we can bring you back to Shizen for you to start at the academy. With certain options, we can get you through the academy sooner than others so you can start as soon as possible. Although it will be hard and rigorous due to all the information you must learn, but we can help you through it all if you really want to become a shinobi within the next month or so," explains Keiji-Sensei.

"I would like that a lot," states Hiori as she turns to look at her guardian, "Can I go Aito-sama?"

Concern was seen in Aito's expression. It was a hard choice to make since he was the one to raise Hiori when she appeared out of no where on the shores of the island. She was basically his child. Aito looks at Hiori and sees how much she wants this path. Although he was concerned for her safety, he wanted her to be happy. However; it was still a hard choice and Aito ended up getting lost in his mixed thoughts on the subject itself.

"Well Aito-sama?" asks Hiori, reminding Aito that he must make his decision.

"I..." Aito paused, remembering every joyous memory he shared with Hiori, causing him to tear up.
