E. 616
new york, queen

A grunt escapes her mouth after crashing through the window with glass shattering everywhere. Her body trembling from the impact of being tossed into a building. The lack of any water functions, made her wonder how people here managed to live without it. As if that wasn't enough, seeing vehicles that didn't look like the motors she was used to. The tidewalks were colorless with black solid ground to separate instead of roads covered in water.

Lifting her head, Gema watched the other Spiderman tackle Goblin to the best of his ability. She grew in fascination with his webs, glowing red as if it were a laser that came out from his wrist instead of fluid like she was familiar with. Diverting away from the fight, another person tumbles into the office beside her with a glitch. Gema began to push herself up from the floor with her arm wrapped around her torso.

He moves his head to see his sister and moving to get up with a step forwards. "Gema, you oka-" Nai cries out in a wince as the glitching attacks him again, causing him to stumble to the ground.

"Not a fan of that. I'd rather have a rash from coral than deal with that again." Nai huffed. "But the sooner we get back to Neuphrates the better."

Gema nodded, putting his arm around her shoulder and using all strength to get him on his feet.. "Yeah, that would be a good idea."

Then pieces of the ceiling fall down in front of them, followed by a cackle. "I can't believe I have another Spiderman to mess around with!" Goblin exclaimed as she jerked her machine. Flinging the other Spiderman off as he crashed into a nearby food court where towers of screens were broadcasting news.

"There seems to be a ruckus down in New York Times Square!"

"Of course he exists in another dimension." Gema muttered under her breath, not wanting to hear her boss' voice ever again.

"Wait? Dimension?" Nai gasped before he glitched again and fell to the ground. He turned over his shoulder with wide eyes like a little kid who just watched a magic trick. "The multiverse is real?"

Gema shrugged. "I mean if we're in this world different than ours and there's another man dressed in a skintight suit like us, then I guess you can say it's real."

"I know, I'm not that stupid." Nai said with a frown. "It was more of a rhetorical question. I didn't need your obvious answer, Gi."

"I said it just in case you needed it." Gema said with an innocent smile.

Making it to a small shop on the first floor, the other Spiderman shoots through the roof like a bullet. Moments later, the twins watch him tear through the ruble with ease from his strength not to different. Except Gema could have sworn she saw sharp ends popping out of his fingertips as if they were claws.

"So uh, what made you decide for me and the Goblin to drop into your dimension, Spiderman?" Nai asked with a cocked eyebrow, shaping the white circles on his mask to mimic the expression.

The other Spiderman scowled with the red lines narrowing. "Not my choice and Not my dimension." He clarified.

Nai then crossed his arms. "Really? Then who is responsible for-"

The question was cut off by another round of glitching. Letting out a breath, the other Spiderman sighed, then instantly tossing a like he did before to Gema. Once Nai caught it, he inspected the watch, a mix of wonder and suspicion etched on his face.

"What's this?"

"I'd put it on if I were you, Nai." Gema said while holding up her wrist to show hers. Proving it was harmless and keeping her from glitching.

Nai then shrugged with a pucker of his bottom lip. Latching the advanced multiverse invention on his wrist. His mouth a gape and in awe of the gadget, glancing at the other Spiderman who confirmed his assumption with a nod.

"That's neat." Nai admitted.

The other Spiderman switched his head between the twins as he spoke. "Now let's focus. We aren't finished with your Goblin yet."

"But you still didn't answer my question," Nai furrowed his brows. "Who's dimen-"

A flash of cobalt blue and a shade of red as bright as a tomato caught Gema's eye. The person in another suit, came around to puncture Goblin in the chest with their knee. She landed straight into one of the giant screens with an advertisement for a soda drink called 'Coca-Cola' on display, triggering another glitch against the electronic material.

"Hey Miguel!" The person chimed with a rustic sounding but upbeat greeting after landing in front of the group of 3, then slapping the taller Spiderman on the back. "Glad you're able to make it! And uh-"

The three stare at each other a moment, until their senses go off at the same time. This was Gema's second time experiencing it, giving confirmation that this new guy was like them. But it was Nai's first.

"What the shell!?" Nai grunted as the feeling stopped after about 5 seconds. "First the glitching, and now that!?"

After recovering from the sensation, the new person in red and blue, widens the white eyes on his mask. "You found new Spiders, huh?" The new Spiderman raised curiosity. "Good to meet ya, I'm Peter Parker! Spiderman of this dimension!" He blabbered, ignoring his colleagues response, and shook both of the twins' hands enthusiastically.

Definitely a contrast to Miguel. Gema thought to herself, and found the two side by side hilarious.

"How is this possible!?" Nai placed his hands on his head like he watched a movie with the biggest plot twist.

Miguel glanced at Nai for a second with a huff. "We'll explain that later. First help us stop your Goblin, then you'll get some answers."

"Come on Miguel, we can tell them a few things real quick right?" Peter asked.

The taller Spiderman shook his head and the eyes on his mask squinted. "No. Taking down the Goblin takes priority right now. We can't risk her doing more damage to your dimension."

"Alright fine." Nai spoke. "Well help you out-"

"Shhh!!" Gema hushed at the banter.

Silence fell from the three Spiderman as the single Spiderwoman. She looked at them, making sure they remained quiet. But the staring contest didn't last long as the familiar sound met her ears. Amid the unfamiliar world, the live audio of crashing waves and the faint smell of salt whistled through the breeze. Now she was convinced she might have been becoming delusional. Pushing past the three men as she analyzed what she thought was coming to her senses.

"What are you doing?" Miguel asked.

Gema held up a finger, demanding him to be quiet, without glancing over her shoulder. As she continued to advance closer, her mind was almost certain. But her focus was shattered by the jittering clatter of a broken glider, scrapping along the street until it rose again with Goblin on top of it.

"Already had so much fun with two spider-heros and now I got to more to join the party!?"

The four, as if in sync glanced at each other before sticking webs on convenient surfaces to catch up with the flying maniac. Each taking a turn to give it to Goblin everything we got. Right after Gema contributed with a punch, she caught sight of a large body of water. Just as she predicted.

"Nai!" She called out to her partner who whipped his head towards her while hanging onto the glider.

Gema tilted her head in the direction of the water, Nai's eyes followed his jaw dropping at the sight. Understanding her suggestion, Nai sent a nod to Gema as a signal.

"Goblin you really want to have some fun!?" Gema shouted at their nemesis with the cup of her hands, swinging from the city square. "You have to do better than that!"

The woman on the glider chuckled in response. "Oh, I'll show you Spiderwoman!" Goblin mocked going after Gema.

"Hey!" Miguel yelled in the unexpected change of pace, landing on top of a building as the two-woman diverted away from the men.

Catching his panic, Nai snickered while looking at both Peter and Miguel. "Don't worry fellas, my sister knows what she's doing." He said with a shrug, slapping Miguel's shoulder with his back hand. Then Nai stuck his web on a post to follow Gema who headed for the shore.

Now curving her momentum into an arch, Gema came down in an angle to dive into the water. From that, she was able to use that adrenaline to pop out as if she were a dolphin pouncing out of the surface. With her exposed toes on the surface, her and Nai ran in sync towards Goblin in their natural unspoken communication. Gema dove underneath once again while Nai leaped above in a smooth rhythm.

Then at the perfect timing, Miguel and Peter shot their webs onto her glider. Yanking its beaten down structure out of the way, sending Goblin forwards to faceplant into the salty sea. Allowing Gema and her brother to strategically use their webs to wrap around. They didn't stop until there was a tightness keep her captive to avoid any chance of escape. Together they caught her before she sunk into the deep ocean, swinging against the tide.

Once they were close enough to land, they tossed Goblin onto the dock that connected to the tall green statue of a lady holding a book and a torch. As they landed on the solid ground, Gema shot a web to her exposed shoulder. Goblin let out a hiss from it's sting.

"Bad news Goblin..." Nai said swooping in, shooting his net shaped web with his usual undertone of sarcasm as he folded his arms.

"Party is over." Gema finishes his sentence like second nature, her hands now on her hips. Her jaw tight from sour taste in her mouth like old seaweed.

Thea and Carter were gone because of Goblin.

Making a display of her ugly old and crooked teeth, Goblin looked at the twins with a haunting yellow glow instead of their natural hazel color. "That was fun, I'd say." She spoke.

Without much thought, Gema sent another stinger-web, sticking straight into her neck. "Thanks, but I think we've had enough fun with you." Gema stated with a snark.

Nai then stepped forward; the white circles of his mask that covered his eyes narrowed. "Now, you're finally going to get what you deserve."

Confused, Gema sensed a bitterness saltier than the ocean appear in her brother's face. His emotions circling like a storm hovering a helpless boat lost at sea. The same scowl he wore in the Downtown of Neuphrates before getting stuck in this dimension.

There was no sign of the brother she knew. And it scared Gema.

Nai stepped to stand in front of Goblin who was propped up against a post on the dock. He held a trembling fist, about to land another strike to the enemies face.

"Stop it!" Gema cried while pulling Nai back around to face her.

"She killed them! She's the reason both Thea and Carter are dead!" He screamed, thrashing against the restraining hold. He then looked back at her, his breaths short and rapid.

"I know!" Sensing his urge to push forward.

"No you don't know, Gema!" He snapped. "Ever since they died, you've done nothing but sit at home while I try not to get caught by the police who hate us again, for taking down bad guys!"

Those words cut like a knife. But she knew he was acting out from the pain he had bottled up since that night. Gema stepped in front of him, her hands pressing on his shoulders. The equal mass getting him nowhere. "I do know this won't get them back!"

Nai flinched, relaxing at a slower pace while his hissing teeth disappeared behind his lips. The eyes closing as he sunk into defeat. Coming back to his senses as tears slipped out from under the mask.

Gema's grip on him softened as she leaned until her forehead touched his. "We can help by doing the right thing, brother. Palala."

Nai sighed as he nodded. "We will, Tita."

The two determined to keep that promise made earlier that day in their Subhome in Neuphrates.

"Oh, what a tender moment with your twin." Goblin chimed in.

Then a red sticky substance covered her mouth. The twins looked over to see Peter and Miguel coming closer before Gema did anything she'd regret later.

"You two were amazing!" Peter exclaimed while patting us on the back, his positive attitude diminishing the pain before it could return. "I never knew there'd be someone like me maneuvering on water like you two did! Let alone a set of twins!"

"Well, when your twin gets bitten by a radioactive Spider, then I guess you're destined for it too." Gema shrugged with a simple statement.

She then noticed Miguel walking over to Goblin, not acknowledging them. She watched him toss the villain over his shoulder, then activating a portal on his watch.

Nai tilted his head and crossed his arms. "I thought you were going to explain this whole thing to us if we helped you stop Goblin."

Miguel took a deep breath after throwing Goblin through the portal. "I will, once you two come with me." He spoke harshly as his eyes squinted.

"Will you?" She asked with a calmer plea, dropping her arms down as she looked at her feet. Gema didn't mean to overstep, but she did want answers.

"What Miguel is trying to say," Peter intervened, cutting the thick tension. "Is that instead of telling you here, it might be nice to show you both HQ."

As if what Peter explained was magic words, Nai's eyes light up and his jaw dropped in a gasp. "HQ!!? There's a fishing HQ?"
