The next morning I woke up and just stared up at the ceiling.

What have I gotten myself into? Snoke told me to come back to the First Order's headquarters today to receive my orders and position. He said that it was a great honor to serve the First Order, of course he would say that. But he was the head of the First Order and my father was killed by them. I'm not sure if he knows that, but in my heart I think he does. I think it amuses him knowing that the son of one of the First Order's sworn rivals is now working for him, to keep everyone he knows and loves alive and well. No matter what becomes of him.

I got up from my bed, and got changed into some blue pants, black boots and a white shirt, I put on a dark blue vest on over it.
I headed to the door of my ship and walked out. Then I walked down the street.

It was growing colder but winter was coming, and it was never really warm anymore even in the summertime.

My shoulder length black hair fell over my face as I continued, until I reached the First Order's headquarters. I walked up the white marble steps to the big metal door and opened it. When I did I saw a stormtrooper standing at the bottom of a staircase.
"What do you want?" the stormtrooper asked me.

"I'm Ben Solo. I was told to come here today," I said.

The stormtrooper looked at me "yeah they told me you were coming," the stormtrooper said.

I nodded my head. "Well follow me," the stormtrooper said as he turned around and started walking up the staircase with me following behind him. Each step I took felt like I was walking to my death, like I was about to die and no one would notice. The stormtrooper walked up to the door and opened it, I walked inside the room the stormtrooper closed it behind me, Snoke was standing beside the door that led to the balcony "ah Ben Solo nice of you to come" Snoke said.

"Thank you for inviting me," I said trying to sound sincere.

Snoke nodded his head "I bet you would like to know what job I have in mind for you don't you?" Snoke asked.

"Yes sir," I replied.

"Well I need someone to collect the children to be our new stormtroopers and I think you're the perfect person for the job," Snoke said with an evil smile plastered on his face.

How could I do that, go to people's houses and force their children away from them? I hate the First Order and he knows that people look up to my family if they find out I am working for the First Order it would ruin what memory is left of my father, but if I don't then everyone else I love will die, so I have no choice. I nodded my head slowly in agreement feeling disappointed in myself.

"Good, I'll have someone show you around," Snoke replied.

"Yes sir," I said as I walked outside the room. Once I was out in the hallway I saw a man standing in front of me.

"You must be Ben Solo," the man said.

"Yeah," I replied eyeing him.

He had ginger hair and blue eyes, he wore a black jacket, black shirt and black pants, with black boots. "I'm Hux," he said as he extended his hand to me.

"Nice to meet you," I said as I shook his hand.

"So I'm supposed to show you around," Hux said.

"Okay," I replied.

Hux and I walked along the hallway he showed me the deferent rooms in the base, he showed me where we go to eat and the room I would be staying in which Snoke didn't mention.

Once Hux finished the tour he left me in my room, he said I should change into some different clothes. I walked to my bed there was some clothes was sitting on it. I got changed into a black shirt and black pants, with black boots, I put a black cowl on over my shirt.

I kept thinking about my mom what would she think of me working for the First Order? What would Poe say about this? My mom took him in when he was little, so we grew up together and became like brothers. What would my Dad think of this? I know that he would do anything to keep everyone back home safe, but he would probably be disappointed that I didn't fight back, disappointed that I am working for Snoke... the creature that killed my father, the creature I wanted to kill the moment I found out that the First Order killed him.

But my mother's life depended on me working for Snoke, there was no other way to save her. This is the only way and I curse myself for doing it, but she is the only thing I have left and I would do anything to keep her safe.

Looking in the mirror at my reflection, my black hair is unkept and hangs around my face falling about three inches above my shoulder. My onyx eyes seem darker then they used to. My skin is a ivory color, a lot paler than it was and with the jet black cowl it looks so much whiter, I almost look like a ghost. I don't even recognize myself anymore, seeing my reflection in the mirror it's like a strangers looking back at me.

I turn away from the mirror and walk over to the door, Hux told me to go down the hallway when I was done changing. I opened the door and walked out into the hallway following it until I came to a big black door, once I opened it I saw what I assumed was the food court.

The floor was gray concrete, the walls were metal that was a copper color, there were big metal beams across the ceiling, and there was a staircase that lead to a platform. At the top of the platform there was a door. In the room there were tables and benches, it looked like one of the cafeterias that the old rebel bases had.

There was a line were you got your food. In the room there was about a hundred stormtroopers standing, sitting and talking. But once I walked in the entire room fell silent as everyone turned and looked at me, I started to feel nervous with all the eyes on me.

A sound came from the door that was at the top of the platform. The door swung open and Snoke walked out along with two stormtroopers on either side of him. Snoke walked over to the railing and began to speak, "today we have someone new to join us," Snoke said as he looked out across the room.

Everyone's attention was on Snoke instead of me which made me feel a little better, but the fact that he was talking about me made the nervousness come back.

"Ben Solo has joined us," Snoke said pointing to me. At that the nervousness got a whole lot worse. "I expect everyone to treat our new gust well, make sure he knows how it feels to finally be one of us," Snoke said looking at me.

That didn't make me feel very welcome, if he was trying to make me feel uncomfortable he had definitely seceded at it.

Snoke walked back through the door and the entire room was filled with voices, the stormtroopers went back to eating and talking.

I walked over to a empty table and sat down I wasn't really hungry and I definitely didn't want to stand by the others. Hux walked over to the table I was sitting at and sat down in front of me. "Aren't you going to get something to eat?" Hux asked.

"I'm not really hungry," I replied.

Hux looked up eyeing me. "I understand it takes some getting used to," Hux said.

I looked over at him, Hux seemed to be a good person but after what happened to my father, I don't trust anyone anymore.
"Yeah," I mumbled.

Hux looked up at me then looked around over his shoulder then back at me "I'm almost done with my meal, when I am I want to show you the rest of the place," Hux said.

I nodded my head in agreement.

Hux and I sat in silence as Hux finished his food. To be honest something about Hux seemed familiar but I couldn't seem to put my finger on what it was.

Once he was done he got up and walked over to the door with me following close behind him. Hux opened the door and walked out, he led me to the elevator. Hux pushed the up button, the elevator door opened and we walked in. Once we were inside of the elevator it started moving, the elevator went to the roof.

I looked over at Hux suspiciously, he walked over to the railing on the edge of the roof he leaned his elbows against it looking out into the night, the wind was blowing his ginger hair around in the cold night air.

"Ben can I ask you something?" Hux said still looking forward.

"Yeah," I replied trying not to sound worried. I walked over to where Hux was and leaned against the railing beside him the wind now blowing my jet black hair as well.

"Why are you here?" Hux asked.

"What do you mean?" I questioned.

"Well I mean, like why are you working for Snoke?" Hux asked.

"Doesn't everyone work for Snoke?" I said trying to get Hux to drop the subject, because if Hux found out that I hated the guy then I was probably dead along with everyone else I love and I couldn't let them die, they are all I have left.

"Yeah I guess... but you of all people... a Solo, I know you don't trust me, but I know what Snoke did to your family. Why are you working for the First Order?" Hux asked.

I didn't know what to say I couldn't tell him that I hated Snoke, he would tell everyone and then I everyone I love will die. So I just looked at Hux trying to come up with something believable.

"You know you don't have to lie to me, I know you don't trust me, but I'm not your enemy Ben, Snoke is," Hux said, now looking at me.

"What do you mean, don't you like Snoke?" I said trying to play it off like I wanted to work for him.

"No I don't Ben, I don't like him one bit. I hate his guts," Hux said with a disgusted face.

"Why?" I asked surprised.

"Why not? He took over the planets after planets, taking children from their families, he forces people to work for him or they die, he killed innocent people just because he can," Hux said.

"Yeah, so why do you work for him?" I asked confused as to why Hux would work for Snoke if he hated him so much.

"Because I don't have a choice," Hux replied.

"What did Snoke do to you?" I asked looking over at him.

"Why do you think he did something?" Hux asked eyeing me.

"That look that you have... the look of pain and hurt that you try to hide behind a mask of fake happiness or interest," I said looking over at Hux, now he looked worried.

"How did you know?" Hux asked looking away.

"Because it's the same look I taught myself when I was sent away from my family" I said.

Hux turned his head to look at me. "why are you working for Snoke?" Hux asked.

I sighed as I looked back out into the dark sky. "Because Snoke could kill everyone I know and love without a second thought," I said looking back over at him.

"My father was a part of the rebellion who fought against the empire, I think my father knew yours," Hux said.

"Really?" I asked. I couldn't believe it, I not only was I not alone in my hearted against Snoke, but Hux's father also was a rebellion fighter too.

"Yeah," Hux whispered.

"What happened to him?" I asked.

Hux looked over at me, "Snoke killed him."

"What about your mom?" I asked wondering if Hux was in the same position as me.

"She's died, so the First Order made me come here to work for them," Hux replied.

"I'm sorry," I said understanding how he felt.

"Yeah me too," Hux replied.

Me and Hux looked out at the dark night sky, the stars were shining bright against the blackened sky.

"We should probably head back inside before someone comes looking for us... plus it's freezing out here," Hux said.

"Yeah I can't argue with you there," I said as me and Hux headed back inside.
