Chapter 8: The Invasion
After some deliberation, investigating, and debating, the team decided that they were going to invade the ship.
"So, how do you think this thing really works?" Spark asked as they prepared to go. He examined the gadget on his wrist, not wanting to make any mistakes.
"Maybe you just need to find a manual, boy," Ace laughed.
"Or maybe the answer is obvious," Diana rolled her eyes. "You just need to click the big red button in the center of the device."
"Wait," Erika said. "What if something else happens? Maybe we should all just stop and think about this."
Spark paused, stared at the team and then at the remote. "Today we defend the earth!"
He raised his wrist and pressed the red button. A silver beam of light flashed down from the ship. They were all teleported inside of the ship in an instant. Shocked to see that the key actually worked and did what it was supposed to do, everyone stopped and stared.
Colorful switches dotted the stark, white walls. Lights flashed on and off as different noises echoed throughout the room. Yet no one appeared to be inside. For now.
"What was that?" Ace jumped as the dashboard began beeping at different pitches right next to him, startling everyone. Diana approached the dashboard to try to figure out exactly what its purpose was.
"This looks like some super high-level technology," she answered. "This is years ahead of our time. Incredible."
Ever curious and impatient, Ace began touching buttons.
"Stop it," Diana snapped as his hand hovered over yet another button. He raised his eyebrows and pushed it. An alarm sounded off, screaming through the room.
"What are you thinking?" Spark yelled. "Turn it off!"
Ace turned the switch off and the alarm ceased. His injured pride took a hit though. Tired of Spark talking to him like that.
"Ace, just stay away from everything and do not touch anything," Spark commanded.
"Well this is fancy and all," Ace said. "But let's get on to the enemies please,"
"Are you a child?" Spark snapped. "Just relax. We're trying to sneak up on the enemy, which won't work if you keep messing around."
"Look at what I found," Diana interrupted. She stood in front of a graph that displayed the different ships. They soon realized there were five more ships left to take over.
"I wonder what this does," Ace said, as he spotted a button next to the graph. He creeped in behind Diana and pushed it.
Instantly everyone was teleported into a hallway. Everyone turned to glare at Ace.
"Why?" Erika asked. "We told you not to touch anything!"
"Maybe now we can get to fighting those enemies," Ace shrugged.
"Look behind you!" Mark yelled.
They turned as an army of reptilians charged towards them, smaller than the prince but furious with snapping teeth and sharp claws. To Ace, they looked pathetic. Hardly a threat at all.
Spark and Ace each had a slight ego, seeing as in the mountain, Master Zo was always there to help. They too often forgot how human they were. Ace ran to the enemies, punching them one by one as their teeth scrapped against his skin. He barely felt it through his rage.
The aliens were knocked back against the wall, teeth and blood staining the white as they were knocked out with one hit.
"Take it easy, Ace," Spark said, as he joined Ace in the fight. Ace was taking out all of the enemies in an endless rage that Spark worried wouldn't last forever. "Don't hurt yourself."
"I need a match and all of these people don't stand a chance," Ace grumbled, the shard feeding into his anger. His desire to fight. It was dangerous for his enemies and for him.
As they kept running, they entered a huge area that looked like a mountain surrounded by forest. They all gazed in awe at the landscape inside the ship, wondering how something like this could fit in here.
"What is this?" Spark asked, as he breathed in the pine scented air.
"My turf," an alien answered. Raigon, a big, stocky alien with light purple skin and long, black hair stepped forward. He'd shown up on the screens as close to Prince Juvall. Maybe an assistant.
Ace stepped towards him and Spark knew well enough to back off after the last rage Ace fell into. He ran to help the others against the aliens still attacking.
Ace lashed out at Raigon with a fist to his side and they began to fight. As the duel went on both injured each other significantly in a quick clash.
"A worthy opponent," Ace said, as he dodged another blow.
"I wish I could say the same," Raigon hissed. "We'll see how long you can last in this fight, earthling."
Amongst his own fights, Spark noticed a door. Called to his team.
"We need to get out that door!" He yelled. "We need to make it to the next ship."
Raigon saw what was happening and ran to the door to block it. Ace tackled Raigon, grabbing him by his waist and tossing him to the side, sending him flying. If there was anything stronger than Ace's anger, it was his protective spirit. He watched over the rest of the team as they made it through the door, then turned back to Raigon.
"You can't stand in the way of us alien," Ace laughed.
Raigon's belt began to blink red. A red aura started to surround Raigon as he focused to power up his energy. Ace ran towards him, but Raigon gained full strength before Ace could reach him and he charged in for more head to head combat.
Ace matched his opponent by powering up using his inner energy. As Raigon lashed out at Ace's head, Ace ducked, then slammed his fist into Raigon's back. The energies colliding created a bright light that flashed throughout the room.
As the fighting continued, Raigon got some body shots on Ace, bruising his legs, cutting his arms. Finally, Ace dug into Raigon's face. His right fist went right into his jaw, sending teeth flying to the ground. Ace followed with his left fist straight at Raigon's eyes.
After continuous fighting, Ace found a weakness to Raigon's rage. The angrier he got, the more out of control he became. He started to injure himself more on the mountains and nearby terrain.
As Raigon grew wilder and more furious, Ace saw his opening and went in for a kick to the back of the neck. This was the same location Spark used to win his battle against Prince Juvall. It crumpled Raigon, killing him and his red glow.
Ace slowly walked towards the body and saw the belt on the floor at Raigon's feet. Ace approached the belt while it glowed red, blinking in sync with the shard in his chest. Ace picked up the belt and put it on in a daze.
The second he snapped on the belt, a red light flashed and a ringing sound echoed through the room. After the shock of the belt, Ace collapsed to the floor in exhaustion.
