"So, Red, what's some of your hobbies?".

We were both eating some a slice of pizza, and she tried to talk with her mouth full, but stopped once she realized I couldn't understand her. She quickly swallowed what she was eating, and told me what she did for fun.

"Well I really like weapons, looking at them, designing them, using them....".

"Hahaha same Ruby. Same".

She smiled, and said "what about you, what's your hobbies?".

"I also like weapons, and building and creating inventions, helps with combat. I also dabble in alchemy, so I'm busy usually".

"To busy to see your friends?".

"I make exceptions...".

"Do you?".

I smiled and nodded, and then my heart go ahead of my mind.

"So, you like weapons, I like weapons, want to go to the forge they have here and see what we can cook up tonight?".

She froze, and her eyes widened, and started to shake.

"Hey Red are you alr-".

"YES! YES! PLEASEEEE?!?".

The cafeteria grew quiet, and everyone started to look our way, as Ruby slowly slid under the table form embarrassment.

Quickly thinking of a way out, I remarked "Sorry, Ruby was offering money I guess my voice cracked".

Everyone started laughing, pointing and making one liners. Within a minute the cafeteria went back to normal, but everyone turned it us, specifically me. I think they were about to ask what just happened, but Ruby tackled me with a hug, and everyone's eyes widen. I slowly put my arms around her, and I saw Nora and Endar give me the thumbs up while Yang took out her scroll.

"Sayyyy blackmail!".

Everyone laughed as both me and Ruby got red faced, and she sat right next to me. Lucky we were on the edge, so it was easy for her to swap seats.

"So I already have 24 different ideas..." she began pulling out a notebook.

"Bloody hell do where do you even keep that?".

"Doesn't matter, so anyway, I had this idea for you....".

"Wait so, you drew me?".

She blanked and turned to me, worried at what I was going to say.

"Am I at least ripped?".

She started to laugh at that and eased up, while she showed me what she had.

"So I had this idea for a wrist launcher"....

[later that night]

I leaned against the wall and looked at my watch, checking the time. It was roughy 7:58 and Ruby is supposed to meet me here in 2 minutes. I had my small bag of tools and plans, and brought my spear, since I planned to melt it down for parts.

"(Y/n)!" I heard Ruby call, waving as she ran up to me.

I smiled and kicked of the wall, and she smiled, pulling out her plan for the wrist launcher.

"You want to go over it once last time?".

I nodded and we walked inside, re checking the math and proportion sizes. There was a moment when she dropped her pen, and we both went to pick it up, and in a classic romance movie fashion, are hands touched, and I felt that special spark. My hand was over hers, and she slowly tilted her head up, staring at me directly in my eyes.

"Have I ever told you how your eyes compliment your dress?".

"No..." she started, as she leaned in closer inch by inch, as I also leaned in.

"Well the outfit really makes you eyes come aliv-".

Just then, the stool leg broke, and I fell to the gourds, landing face first. Ruby jumped back, and helped me up, trying to suppress her laughter.

"(Y/n) are you alright?" She asked, barely able to keep it in.

"Yes, but come on, go ahead and laugh".

Almost immediately she began to laugh her butt off, leaning back on her chair. Distracted by my misery, her chair slipped, and she fell backwards, and I dived under her, catching her in my lap. Her hand immediately went to my chest, and she took a second to regain her balance.

"Whoa. Jumping for me already (Y/n)?".

"Hey, I'm the one with the one liners".

We both began to laugh, and I stood up, putting her down, but her hand was still on my chest.

"Oh, sorry..." she said softly, slowly taking away her hand.

There was dead silence, just a intense stare forming between us. Neither one of us knew what to say or do, but just staring at each other seemed alright to me.

"So, how about that launcher...." she began, looking away.

"Oh uh, yeah, let uh, let's get to that" I mumbled, letting go softly, with a disappointed face on both of us.

We both walked over to the forge, and I threw in some metal, talking to Ruby as we waited for the metal to melt.

"I think there will be enough metal left for something else, do you want me to make you anything Red?".

She shook her head, and said "no I'm good...".

By my estimations I would have enough left for 2 braclets and I got a idea.

"I'm going to enough left for 2 braclets, how about this. I make one for me, and one for you. That alright?".

She nodded frantically, and I smiled, finding a mold and pouring the liquid metal into it.

"Ruby can you pass me the gauntlet mold...".

We worked together to make the metal, and I molded and worked it together until the base was done, and it was time to go to bed, since it was kind of midnight.

"Guess we will have to continue this tommorw...".

"Guess so....".

She turned away and I had a huge smile on my face, excited to be alone with Ruby again tommorw. We put away the project in a safe storage place that I got when I first got here. We walked back to the room in a comfortable silence, but both of us obviously taking our time. Once we got here she turned back to me, and smile one last time.

"Well, see you tommorw (Y/n) , goodnight".

"Night Ruby".

Before she walked in, I felt my instincts take over, and I pulled her in for a hug. She was shocked at first, but returned my hug and had a slight blush.

"Night (N/n)".

"Night Red".

I walked back into my room, and Endar was at the desk, sitting in his chair backwards, looking at me, what Osiris leaning against the wall, and Carth on his bunk.

"So......" they all said in Unison.

"Shut up guys.....".

They all laughed as I climbed up to bed, throwing of my shoes and belt.

"I'm hitting the hay guys".

"Sure thing lover boy".

"Shut up guys....".

They all teased and poked at me was I turned in my bed, and twirled my new twin bracelet.

"Goodnight Ruby".
