The Orphanage (Otoya and Sayori)
Sayori sat at her desk as she looked out at the night sky. The only light in her room was coming from the lamp and from her computer. She made sure to be quiet so she did not wake up Jaesoo since she knew how much sleep meant to her. She had purple headphones on top of her head with two low ponytails placed on her shoulder. She had the brightness pretty low with her desk placed far away from Jaesoo's bed. She had been working all night on some new music for Moonlight. She worked better at night time but this would come at the risk of her sleep and energy. Even though she loved to sleep in the mornings she knew that her schedule didn't match up and her mentor had already once told her off about being late.
Her eyes widened as she heard a loud bang coming from the hallway. She quickly glanced over to Jaesoo who had seemed to not hear the noise as she took a sigh of relief. Sayori was never good at dealing with Jaesoo's bad days. She decided to investigate the noise as she quickly shut her laptop and thought about whether to take it with her but she decided not to and instead left it at the top of her desk next to her lamp.
She quietly got up as she made her way to the door while slowly and quietly closing it behind her. She made her way out of the girl's dorm to near the entrance of the boy's dorm hallway. Even though she knew not to step foot in the hallway she remembered the fact that the noise was nowhere close to where the girl's hallway was and sounded more like it was more centered towards the boy's dorms which made her feel slightly more worried.
She was slightly scared to wonder what the noise was and even though she didn't believe in ghosts she was more afraid of people breaking in especially since she had many instances of that happening when she was younger. She had learned how to deal with a break-in situation. The first thing to do was to investigate the problem and then restrain the culprit and call the police however with her it was without the restraint part.
She quickly hid at the end of the hallway. She heard scratching and narrowed her eyes to get a closer look at what was happening however it was too dark to see who was there. She looked down to meet red eyes as she began to look slightly confused. She slowly opened the door as she took a deep breath in and out. She hid behind the cracks in the door so she was safe if she had to run away. She had a feeling that she may be the only person awake since it was 3am after all so unless people had to practice very late there was no way people would be out in the hallway at least. She wondered whether an animal had broken in and even with that, the windows seemed to be closed around this time so even that had a low possibility.
As she heard the footsteps walk closer to her she slowly got up to grab the door handle. As he got closer she closed her eyes and moved her leg to kick his stomach. She slowly heard a quiet scream from what sounded like Otoya. She slowly opened one eye as she looked down to see Otoya hunched in pain. "What was that for!?" He whisper shouted. Sayori nervously froze as she looked down at the redhead. "I didn't know it was you." She stuttered.
She was so flustered at this point that she didn't know what to do. It was her first day meeting a Starish member and she had already messed it up. She looked left and right to make sure it was just the two of them before helping Otoya up. "I thought you were a burglar or something." She said still sounding flustered. Ototya let out a soft chuckle as Sayori pouted. Otoya slowly got up. " I was just sorting out items for the orphanage tomorrow and I just ...dropped...the box." He said while scratching the back of his head.
Sayori nodded as she turned on her torch." I didn't hurt you though. I hope I didn't." She nervously said as she began to check if Otoya was hurt. She didn't exactly take into account how close she was getting to Otoya. Otoya quickly blinked as he saw Sayori move slightly closer to him. " I-I'm fine. " He stuttered nervously as his eyes widen slightly. Sayori looks him up and down as she let's out a relieved smile. She then slowly glances up as her face is very close to Otoya's.
She jolts away as she looks down trying to hide her blush with her best ability as she quickly got to her feet. "I'm so sorry I didn't mean-" Sayori stuttered. Otoya cut her off by saying " You don't need to say sorry." He said as he got to his feet as well. Sayori slowly and quietly walks over to the light switch as she turned it on.
The lights quickly illuminate the room as Sayori then looks back over to Otoya. " I guess we won't be tripping over each other now." She says with an embarrassed laugh following along. The moon and stars start to show through the windows as Sayori goes to take the seat on a seat that was very soft and comfy.
Sayori sank into the seat as she looks over at a wooden basket that was placed next to Otoya. It was full of toys, food, and craft materials. Sayori wondered what Otoya would have wanted to do with items like that and why there were so many of them within the basket. She wondered why he would be carrying so much especially so late at night. If she was her she would feel scared to even leave her room for the sake of waking others up. She knew more than anyone how important sleep was so she would feel really bad ruining that for other people in the dorm.
Otoya noticed Sayori's curious stare as he then says. " I volunteer at a local orphanage." He says with a sweet smile. Sayori found it sweet that a star who was so busy would give some of his time to an orphanage. She remembered seeing an orphanage while walking to the academy however she never paid any notice to it so there was a hint of curiosity she was having about seeing it again.
" Do you...think they'll want more people...to help...maybe?" Sayori said shyly. She didn't want to seem demanding however she wanted to help in some way. She loved working with children and doing that helped her become less shy and more sociable than she usually would be. Otoya nodded excitedly as he was happy to hear that someone was interested in working alongside him. He was used to the rest of Starish being too busy to help and Nanami had many songs that she was busy composing. He was happy to have someone join him again and it reminded him of when he first worked with Nanami.
"Of course, you can join! It would be nice to have someone join me." Otoya responds as he continues to pick up the items spread across the floor. Once all the items were picked up both Otoya and Sayori got up Sayori brushes the dust off her black skirt as she picks up the box and hands it to Otoya. Sayori then turned her attention back to Otoya."What time are we leaving?" She asked him hoping that she didn't have to wake up super early. She remembered that in the week she had spent her time staying up and composing music. She highly valued her morning sleep and she never did well when she had to get up super early. Otoya was lost in thought for a minute as he then said " Why don't we meet here at 9? " He states as Sayori sighs with a nod. "I ...guess. Let's just do 9." She responds.
That morning Sayori woke up her hair was tied in two low pink tails as she quickly gets out of her pajamas and gets into shorts, a pink crop top, and white trainers. She tied her hair up into a ponytail and she attached a white bow at the end. She didn't want to dress in a fancy way since she knew that it wouldn't be practical for me to show up to a busy day dressed impractically. She usually liked to dress in a very comfy style as it was so her outfit had no different from what she would usually wear. This would sometimes make her feel slightly out of place within Moonlight since her groupmates would dress in either a very unique or more formal style compared to her but she was now getting to the point where it wasn't phasing her as much.
Once she finished she walked out into the lightly lit hallway and into the kitchen where she darted straight to the coffee machine. She was more of a black coffee person so it was never a complicated process to make what she wanted. While the coffee was brewing she opened her phone and plugged in some headphones as she moved her focus to listen to the melodies of the songs that she was composing. In that week she had been awake most nights planning and composing songs for Moonlight so it wasn't a surprise that tiredness was quickly catching up to her. She hoped that maybe since she slept in early that night that it would lead to her being more energetic for the busy day ahead since she didn't want to disappoint the orphanage and Otoya.
Once she had gotten her coffee she quickly sat down and looked through her notes about the song she had written the night before. Otoya walked in as he spotted Sayori sitting on the sofa that was placed in front of a large window with early morning light just seeping into the room. He walked over to stand behind Sayori as he notices that she is writing in a notebook. "What are you doing?" He asks Sayori curiously as he leans over to get a closer look at the notebook. Sayoris eyes widen as she snaps her head to look behind her at Otoya. "I-I'm just writing some notes for songs to compose. " She stutters as Otoya's eyes widen in wonder. He had never heard of an Idol that took on both composing and being an Idol.
Later they soon packed up and left to the orphanage as Sayori had her hair up and hidden within a black hat and sunglasses while Otoya wore a white cap with sunglasses. They both tried to keep there identies hidden since Otoya was part of STARISH so if people saw him with her she knew that it could cause a lot of problems for both groups. Moonlight was a newer group so any scandel that was brought forward could break their group. Even though the dating ban had been lifted this didn't mean that Moonlight where not wary about what a dating scandel could bring to them. She knew that it would be especially bad if she chose to date a member of a rival group.
Once they walked down the orphanage she smiled as she heard the laughing of children slowly getting louder. Once they arrived her eyes widened as the children began to run over to Otoya. It felt like he was deeply connected to the orphanage and like the kids saw him as apart of their family. She wanted to know more about his connection to this place. She was never really a highly social person so an experience like this was very new for her. She did feel slightly overwhelmed by everything that was happening as she took a deep breath and stood forward as a little girl ran to her with a smile.
