Hello, I am the author of this book.

No, no. I don't plan on smashing the fourth wall or anything like that, trust me.

So maybe this isn't really a story-chapter or whatever, but it's definitely something people are willing to read, correct?

Anyways, I'm fleeing from the real topic I've chosen to talk about today.

And because I do love talking, please allow me to ramble on about what I'd like to talk about, and hopefully, I won't bore you.

He has always been fond of stars.

Now, I don't know why people think he's less quirky from others solely because he acts mature and is quite a softie, but let me tell you, Sugawara Koushi has more secret quirks than you've ever known.

That's the thing about acting a certain way- people have kind of shut off other possibilities of who you could really be, which is probably why many stray from being different.

I tell you, there is absolutely no problem with being different.

So back to Koushi and his own many quirks, I think out of all of them, his fondness of stars is my favorite.

Why? I don't know myself.

But I do fancy a lot of his other strange quirks.

Like how he likes spicy food, and while others will have their tastebuds dead because of the spiceyness, he could just sit there and eat a whole bowl of super spicy food without even making the slightest flinch.

That's amazing, you know! I can't really handle super spicy food myself, and always end up getting stomach aches, no joke.

And you know how he tends to overthink things after some time? That's pretty intriguing too, especially since he's usually so patient with everything.

Lastly, you know how he worries about his kouhais being taller than him, right?

Being 5"1, I know how he feels.

As many people like to say, Sugawara Koushi is definitely an unknown element.

You can really never know what to expect from him because he's got a diverse personality and mindset, which a lot of people overlook simply because of the stereotype that kind and mom-like people like sugar, spice, and everything nice.

He's got flaws, too.

Oh and speaking of his mom-like nature, I personally think that it's adorable. Now who's with me?

Anyways, back to him being an unknown element, it can be a bit inconvenient for him sometimes because people usually make up all these mindsets about him that are pretty far from what he can actually be.

It can be helpful, like when he's on the court, but it can really cause him lots of problems if he's not careful.

The world isn't very open to different things.

No one would expect him to actually be super competitive, or even hate a girl.

But nonetheless, he is and he does, and not many know that.

Ending this small talk about Koushi, (which I hope I didn't bore you with) I'd just let you on one last of his secret quirks, just for the fun of it.

Koushi enjoys being a wingman.

No One's POV

"You're hungry, aren't you?" the silver-headed setter asked his friend with a nudge.

"Practice kind of wore me out," the brunette replied, wiping his sweat with a towel.

"Well, the café it is, then," Sugawara smiled, giving the captain a thumbs-up. "It's all on me,"

"Hontou ni?! Arigato, Suga!" Daichi bowed in thanks, eyes sparkling just like a little kid at the sight of a toy store.

"No problem, no problem. Plus, we haven't hung out asides from school in the longest time, so it's money and time well-spent," he answered, grabbing his bag from the shelf.

Daichi hurriedly got his stuff ready, and headed out with his friend towards the small café they usually went to if they had time.

Upon hearing the sound of the chimes by the door, the two boys were welcomed by the kind old woman at the counter.

"Irashaimase, Koushi-kun, Dai-kun. It's been a long time, has it not?" she greeted, bowing politely.

"Sou, desu," Sugawara replied, offering her a kind smile as well.

"Ah. What can I get you two boys today? Dai-kun looks hungry," she asked with a chuckle.

"We'll have the usual, please," he ordered, pulling out his wallet to pay. "We just came from practice, so he's pretty hungry,"

The old lady laughed. "Growing boy, aren'tcha? Pretty handsome, too. I'm sure you have many fans,"

"F-Fans? You m-mean like... girls who l-like me? Ahahaha... that's a bit impossible," Daichi blushed, scratching his head.

"Nope, not impossible at all, young man. Trust me, I know," she winked.

"Well if w-what you say is true, I guess I can't really help it, c-can I?" Daichi replied, quite flustered.

"Be proud, Dai-kun! Proud!" She playfully hit his shoulder.

"H-Hai..."

"Anyways, you two have a seat. I'll bring over your food in a bit,"

"Go sit down, Daichi. I'm right behind you, just paying," Sugawara said, bringing out a few yen bills.

The brunette nodded, "Arigato," then he turned around and looked for a nice seat.

When he was sure that Daichi couldn't hear him anymore, Suga whispered to the old woman.

"The plan is going nicely,"

"Indeed. She's ought to arrive soon, Koushi. Be alert. You know what to do,"

"Don't worry, I've got it."

"Here's your food, boys," the old lady chirped, placing down their orders.

"Hai, arigato gozaimasu," Daichi thanked her, clapping his hands together.

"Itadakimasu," the two chorused before digging in, their hunger going to be satisfied in just a few moments.

The sound of the store's chimes had echoed throughout the café, signalling another customer had entered.

Wiping his mouth, Sugawara pointed out, "Daichi! I think that's Michimiya over there,"

The brunette stopped eating and turned around to see if what his friend had been saying was true.

And it was.

The said girl was at the counter, having a small talk with the old lady, smiling wide.

Daichi had an undeniable, super faint, hint of red present on his cheeks as Sugawara called out her name.

"Michimiya! Wanna join us?"

Turning towards the two boys, Michimiya nodded, smile not fading away as headed over towards their table.

"Oh! What a coincidence, seeing you two here after school! Come here often?" she greeted, taking a seat beside Daichi.

"Sometimes, when Daichi here gets hungry. Which he was," Sugawara answered.

The captain fell silent, continuing to eat his food.

"I can see that. Rough practice today, Sawamura?" she asked, looking at him eat.

"Yeah, I g-guess," he replied, wiping his mouth. "You too?"

She nodded. "The girls and I have an upcoming game soon. You guys have one too, right?"

"Yep! And we're training really hard!" he stated, pride in his team visible in his brown eyes.

"I know, just by looking at how much food you eat," she laughed, getting him to chuckle a bit as well.

"Just ah, gonna use the bathroom, if you two don't mind," Sugawara announced, standing up.

"Not at all, go ahead!" Michimiya waved, "I'll stay with Sawamura,"

The captain couldn't resist blushing at his friend's sudden actions, as if Sugawara had something planned.

What a very coincidental situation... fate, don't play with me please, he thought, confused at his feelings.

On his way to the bathroom (when he was sure that Daichi wouldn't see him), Sugawara high-fived the old lady and continued on his way, happy that his job was done and everything was going smoothly.

After using the bathroom, he rested upon the wall beside the counter.

His smile didn't falter, especially upon seeing the two captains engaged in such conversation, so he decided to watch them from afar.

Michimiya shot a 'thank-you' look at Sugawara, and he returned it with a smile and a peace sign.

"Ah, young love, isn't it?" the old lady sighed dreamily, watching the two laugh together.

"Not yet fully completed. Until Daichi overcomes his density, then I guess we're good," the silver-head replied.

He and the old woman high-fived again, chuckling to themselves.
