Chapter 3

*3rd POV*

Linda and Tulio were at a restaurant. "It was nice of you to join me for dinner I often eat alone. Oh, uh, because, of course, my work." Tulio said quickly causing both of them to chuckle. "I thought I was the bird nut, until I met you." Linda said smiling.

"Yes. Right. Do you have a favorite bird?" Tulio asked. "Well, obviously, I'm a blue macaw kind of gal." Linda said causing Tulio to chuckle. "That makes sense. They are very handsome birds." Tulio said.

"Actually, it's the brains I'm more attracted to. I'm not so impressed by fancy feathers." Linda said before looking up at him shyly. "I know exactly what you mean. My favorite bird is the spotted owl. I've always been mesmerized by those big, round, intelligent eyes." Tulio said as he was looking into Linda's eyes.

"Ha, ha! Picanha!" A man said before coming over and cutting some meat for them. "Chicken hearts? Flambada!" Another man said before setting some chicken on fire. It fogged Linda's glasses.

"Oh! Ooh! Chicken hearts." Linda said taking her glasses off to clean them and laughing nervously. "Oh, gosh." Linda said before yelping as her food was on fire. She stabbed her fork into it, before lifting it up and blowing it out.

A rooster crowing went off, and Linda looked at Tulio. Tulio paused from eating and realized it was his phone. "Oh." Tulio said before chuckling. He answered. "Hello?" He asked before he heard the sad news, Linda looked confused.

Time skip

Linda walked out of the clinic after hearing the news and sat down on the steps sobbing. "Oh, Blu. We should have never left Moose Lake. This is all my fault." Linda said sobbing and taking her glasses off as Tulio found her and walked out, closing the door.

"No, no, Linda. Linda, please. This is not your fault." Tulio said softly. Linda sniffles and put her glasses back on. "You're right. It's not my fault." She said before turning to Tulio. "It's your fault!" Linda yelled.

"What?" Tulio asked before stammering. "With your little bird talk and that whole, 'Save the species.' Well, you know what? Squawk squawkity squawk, squawk!" Linda said before gasping. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to curse." Linda said holding her hands close to her chest.

"I... I don't understand. Sylvio is the best guard in the business." Tulio said before they turned hearing something. "So, let me get this straight. You were attacked by a little white bird?" A police officer asked Sylvio.

"Yes, with this rag. He held it up to my mouth like...like this." Sylvio said as he held it up to his mouth before he made some muffled babbling noises and fell to the ground unconscious. The cop caught it and sniffed it, only to fall unconscious. "We're doomed." Linda said as her and Tulio had watched.

*My POV*

We were in a cage, and we heard muffled chatter in the distance. I put my beak in a whole and ripped the cover more than it was, only to see we were being carried to a door. "Okay. Okay. There's no place like home. There's no place like home. Oh, how I wish I was back in my own cage, with my mirror and my swing and my little bell. Oh, how I miss my little bell." Blu said.

Jewel and I faced him. "Shh! play dead." We said before dropping to the ground to play dead. "What? I don't need to play dead. I'm about to have a heart attack." Blu said. "Just do it." Jewel said.

Blu sighed. "Fine." Blu said before moaning before gagging then falling to the ground next to us grunting and twitching. "Stop twitching." I whispered. "Oh, come on. It's the twitching that sells it." Blu said before a knock on the door was heard.

"Shh." I said as we then stopped talking and kept laying in the cage. We heard the door open. "Come on in, kid." We heard a man's voice. We were placed on something gently. "Well, what do you know? Good work, Fernando. You see, boys? What did I tell you about this one?" Another man's voice said.

"That you were going to pay him half as much as you said?" Another man said only to get slapped. "Ow!" He said. "No, you idiot. That he reminds me of myself when I was that age. Smart, resourceful. Here you go, kid." The man said before handing the kid cash I guess.

Fernando looked at the money. "Hey. This is only half of what you promised me." Fernando said. "Ah, shut up, kid." The boss said before the cover of our cage was removed. "What the...?" The man said as he saw us 'dead'. He needed two blue macaws and a yellow canary.

"I thought I told you I needed these birds alive." The man said as I was picked up. Jewel and Blu peaked an eye open at this. "Tell me, Fernando, does this look alive to you?" The man asked holding me towards the kid.

"Huh?" He asked angrily, before I bit his thumb. He screamed as he let me go. "Get her!" The man said as I flew around trying to get away. "Come over here!" One of the men said as I flew around, but had them run into each other.

"Izzy!" Blu and Jewel said as they watched me. I was panting as I flew away. I flew around and saw an opening. I head towards it panting, but screamed as I was caught by that same bird. I was pinned to a board with his foot on my throat.

"Hello, pretty bird." He said leaning towards me. "What's the matter?" He asked as I was struggling to breath. "Cockatoo got your throat?" The bird asked. "Nigel! Alive." The boss said before gesturing to the cage.

"To be continued." Nigel said before he flew in the air holding me and slammed me into the cage causing me to grunt. "Izzy!" Jewel said rushing to my side. "That was your plan? To take off and leave us? Gee, thanks" Blu said.

"I knew my sister could follow me, but why didn't you follow me?" I asked as I sat up. "Uh..." Blu said nervously. "Nice work, Nigel." The boss said to Nigel as he landed on his arm. "Yeah, nice work, Nigel." One of the humans said jealous.

Nigel squawked in his face, causing him to back away. "The last blue macaws on Earth. These are worth a fortune." The boss said as he chained Blu and Jewel together. I pulled at the chain with my beak.

"Hey, Fernando. Hang these up in the other room." The boss said as the kid picked up the cage we were in and carried us to a room as we squawked. He pushed the door open with his back, and we saw a lot of other birds in cages.

We stared in disbelief. "Hey birdie. Let me out. Let me out! Let me out of here!" A blue bird said in a mixture of yellow birds. "Who's a pretty bird? I'm a pretty bird." We heard a female bird say as she sounds insane as she laughed.

"I'm a pretty bird." She said as she kept running around. "I was framed. They got the wrong guy." A bat said in a Dracula voice. "Sorry, guys. Nothing personal." Fernando said as he placed our cage on a hook. We watched him walk away, but he looked back at us before closing the door.

*3rd POV*

"So, what's going to happen to them?" Fernando asked the three older men. "Don't worry. We're going to find good homes for them. Now, go home to your mama." The boss said opening the door and pushing him out the door.

"But I don't have a mama." Fernando said facing him. "Father?" The boss asked as Fernando shook his head. "Brother?" The African American looking man asked. "Goldfish?" The other man asked, and Fernando looked at them shaking his head.

"Aw. Can we keep him, boss?" The man with the childlike voice asked. "No." The man said before closing the door. "So, Marcel, what's really going to happen to those birds?" The childlike voice man asked.

"Oh, plucked, stuffed, eaten-- who cares? All I know is we're going to be rich." Marcel said causing all of them to laugh as Fernando heard them. "We're gonna be rich!" Armando said before Fernando walked away not wanting to hear anymore.

Fernando walked across some wood before looking into a window of a family having fun. He smiled happy for them, before he climbed a drainpipe and sat on the roof before leaning against a box only to grunt he pulled a blue feather out from his shirt, and he looked sad.

Meanwhile

Tipa and Armando was about to watch a football game. "Come on! Come on! The game's starting." Armando said as Tipa came over with some drinks. "Yes, you were very clear. Tomorrow, or the deal is off." Marcel said into his phone as Nigel sat on his wrist.

"Of course, I have both the macaws and the canary. Yes, I will deliver them myself. Au revoir." Marcel said goodbye before hanging up. He let Nigel fly up to his post which was a dead bird's head on the wall. "All right, you two. You load the truck tonight. First thing in the morning, we bring those birds to the airport. You got it?" Marcel asked them.

"Oh, yeah, sure, heard you." Armando said. "Oh, yeah. Sure." Tipa said as they wouldn't look away from the game. "Oh, and one of you, feed Nigel." Marcel said before walking out. Both men looked at each other than at the said bird.

Nigel winked at them as they both gulp. "Rock, paper, scissors, shoot." Tipa and Armando said as Armando shot scissors while Tipa shot rock. "Yes!" Tipa said thinking he won. "Uh-uh. Scissors cuts rock." Armando said playing Tipa.

"Oh, man. How come you always win?" Tipa asked confused, not realizing he's being played. Soon enough, he was holding some chicken towards Nigel who was looking away but then looked at him.

Tipa was grunting nervously. "Nice birdie." Tipa said scared. He whimpers as Nigel stared at him with a blank look. Armando watched nervously. "Yeah, here you go." Tipa said before Nigel shrieks and grabbed the chicken.

"Aah!" Tipa said as he pulled his hand away and Armando gasped before looking. Tipa made sure he had all five fingers and sighed before looking up at Nigel with a glare. Who was eating the chicken happily. "Ugh. Cannibal." Tipa said even knowing that was wrong.

*My POV*

Jewel and I were pacing in the cage. "Okay, pull it together. The key is not to panic." Blu said. "We're not panicking." Jewel said as we kept looking around. "I wasn't talking to you; I was talking to me. But it's okay, because any minute now, Linda will find us." Blu said and we got annoyed.

"Oh, great. And then she'll stick us behind another set of bars, right?" I asked. "Yeah. Uh, I mean, no." Blu said. "Look, pet, cages might work for you, but me and my sister don't want to belong to anyone." Jewel said before we heard rapid clicking.

We looked and all the birds gasped. "Something seems to be lodged in my beak. Would you mind?" Nigel asked as he leaned down to a cage that had a lot of blue tiny birds. All of them backed away quickly but one didn't.

He realized then ran off whimpering. but he was pushed. He looked at Nigel scared. He shakily reached into his beak, but pulled his leg away quickly as Nigel slammed his beak shut causing him to scream.

Nigel cackled. He suddenly slammed into our cage causing us to grunt. "Ow!" Blu said as Jewel got slammed into his chest and as I slammed into Jewel's. "Oh, I know I'm not a pretty birdie, but I used to be quite a looker. A star." He said as he moved, and we saw a poster of him.

We looked at him with a real disbelief look. "What the..." I said confused. "Lights, camera, action." He said before a light suddenly came out of nowhere. "How the..." I mumbled confused. "I was striking suave, ambitious." He sang before lifting his foot up.

"Feet to beak so birdie-licious. Now, I'm vile, I am villainous and vicious. Oh, and malicious." He sang as he held one of the tiny blue bird's tails, as it whimpers and screams before he let it go. "I had it all a TV show, women, too." He sang as three female birds were shown.

"I was tall over one-foot-two." He sang as he went past a bird and pushed its neck down. "Then they got a pretty parakeet to fill my shoes." He sang before glaring at the parakeet. "That's why I am so evil, why I do what I do." He sang as he came up in a newspaper with the headline 'STAR COCKATOO FIRED!'

"He was a superstar!" Other birds sang. "So young and vital." Nigel sang as he spun a globe on his feather before using his tailfeathers to bounce it. "He's nasty!" Other birds sang. "A South American Idol." Nigel sang as he held the globe to show South America.

"He's a suspicious bird!" Four red birds sang. "Who said that about me?" Nigel sang looking around. "A very vicious bird." Some chickens sang. "I'll have you rotisseried." Nigel sang glaring at the chickens.

"I'm a feathery freak with a beak, a bird murderer. You think you're badder than me? I never heard of ya." He sang as he was on top of our cage as we watched. "I'm evil, I'll feed you cheese balls with weevils." Nigel sang as he ate a weird looking cheeseball.

"I poop on people, and I blame it on seagulls." Nigel sang to us as we looked at him weirdly. He pointed to a seagull. "It was him." He whispered. "He's a nasty bird." Four red birds sang. "I'm invincible." Nigel sang as he held up the cage they were in.

"He's ghastly." Some blue birds sang. "I'm unminceable." Nigel sang as he threw the cage they were in away. "I'm unwashable, unrinseable. Like an abandoned school I have no principle." He sang as he waved his feather.

He danced on our cage. "All of you Brazilian birds. All 80 million birds. I'll tell you what I'm going to do." Nigel sang as he danced on top of our cage, before looking at us. "I'm going to make you..." Nigel sang. "Ah, ah, ah....." The other birds sang.

"Shut up, now. Shut up!" Nigel yelled causing all of them to shut up. "It's just me." He said before facing us. "I will make you ugly, too." Nigel sang in a whisper as he grabbed Jewel by the throat causing her to grunt.

"Hey!" I yelled before he dropped her on us. "Hey!" Blu shouted. "Sweet nightmares." Nigel said to us before laughing as he flew off. "Not cool, man. Scary, but not cool. Hey, are you okay?" Blu asked concerned for Jewel.

"No, I am definitely not okay!" Jewel shouted as we slammed our bodies into the cage. "Whoa! Whoa, whoa, wait, wait. What are you doing?" Blu asked confused. "Getting out of here!" I said as I slammed into the cage grunting.

"Whoa!" Blu shouted surprised. "Are you gonna help us or what?" Jewel asked as we continued. "A-a-actually, all survival guides say to sit and wait--ow!--and-and help will come." Blu said as Jewel, and I were swinging the cage back in forth.

"No one is coming!" I yelled as we slammed into the cage. "Whoa." Blu said. "We are on our own, and if we just sit here, we're going to die." Jewel said as we slammed into the cage again causing it to go towards the window as Blu screams. We hit the window.

*3rd POV*

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Tipa and Armando said as they continued to watch the game. Nigel jumped onto the remote turning it off. "No!" They shouted as they looked at Nigel. "Nigel, get out of the way!" Tipa said before Nigel squawks and flew off with the remote. "Yeah!" Armando said as he grabbed the remote. "Hold on!" Tipa said as he grabbed Armando trying to help him.

*My POV*

We kept slamming our bodies into the cage. "Stop. Stop. Why don't you just open the door?" Blu asked before opening the small door. We pant. "Are you kidding me?" I asked as we stared in disbelief.

"What? It's just a standard flip slide bolt. Just rotate..." Blu said but we ignored him. "Let's fly!" Jewel shouted as me and her took off. We flew out the window, but Jewel screamed as she was stopped.

I turned to see Blu holding onto the cage. "What are you doing?!" I shouted. "Oh, I can't..." Blu said but stopped. "What? You can't what?" Jewel asked confused. He gasped as he saw Nigel drag the humans into the room.

They saw us and Nigel shrieks. "Whoa!" Blu shouts, letting go of the cage causing it to hit Nigel. "Whoa!" I shouted. "I can't fly!" Blu shouted as he dragged Jewel to the ground causing them to scream.

I flew after them as they landed on a clothesline, causing them to slide, I flew after them. "You couldn't tell us this before now?" Jewel shouted confused. "It didn't matter before now!" Blu shouted as they kept sliding.

I kept flying after them. They kept sliding before they slammed into the wall, and they grunt. "I hate you." Jewel told him before the clothesline end came flying out, causing both of them to go falling to the ground.

"Jewel!" I yelled concerned as I flew after my older adoptive sister. They fell into some boxes. "Is there anything else we need to know?" Jewel asked angrily as they got out of the boxes, and I landed next to my older adoptive sister to check on her.

"Yes, I can't fly, I pick my beak, and once in a while, I pee in the birdbath. Happy?" Blu asked as we looked at him with a glare. "There they are!" We heard one of the man say as we saw them. "We gotta get out of here!" I said as I ran with them.

"Whoa!" Blu said as Jewel dragged him. "Move! Come on, just move! move!" Jewel said as they both were gasping and grunting as they ran after me. They were rolling before they stopped causing me to stop.

"Flying may not be my thing, but walking is. Follow my lead. Inside leg, outside leg." Blu said to us. "Okay. I got it. Inside, outside." Jewel said as they ran together, causing me to follow. "Inside, outside, inside, outside! Inside, outside!" We all said as we ran.

We ran past a group of people watching the game but I didn't pay attention as I kept running with Jewel and Blu. "Come on!" I said as we kept running. We looked behind us to see them running after us.

We saw a cat sitting in the street, blocking our way. Blu barked like a dog causing the cat to shriek and jump out of the way and onto the humans. "See? I'm bilingual, too." Blu said as we looked at him with disbelief as we kept running.

I heard Nigel squawking. "Oh, this is great. I'm chained to the only bird in the world who can't fly." Jewel said as we kept running. "Actually, there are about 40 species of flightless birds." Blu said as we kept running.

"Duck!" I said as I saw a box in front of us. "No, ducks can fly." Blu said as he thought I was talking about ducks. "No! Duck!" Jewel said pointing out the things being carried. "Aah! Whoa!" Blu said as he almost got smashed by the box as we kept running.

We saw Nigel behind us, but we dropped off an edge. "Whoa!" We shouted as we bounced off something and were sent into a bucket and rolled in the bucket. "Whoa!" We shouted again as we slammed into some medal causing us to fly out of the bucket and go sliding on the roof.

We shouted as we bounced, and Nigel was chasing us. "Whoa!" Jewel and Blu shouted as we kept sliding. We bounced from roof to roof. "Yes!" Nigel shouted. "Hold on!" Blu shouted to us before we screamed as he causing us to go to the side. We saw Nigel slam into something.

*3rd POV*

A chicken was clucking as Nigel groans, then he shot up. "Get out of here, you putrid poultry." Nigel said before groaning flying away. As he does, he gives off an electrical buzz as he kept flying away.

*My POV*

We were walking through the jungle. Blu and Jewel's chain was making noise as Jewel, and I walked in front. Jewel was suddenly tugged, and I sighed. Jewel grunts as she pulled Blu. "Ooh. Ooh. What was that?" Blu asked confused as he stepped on a stick.

"A stick." I said. "Aah! And that?" Blu asked as he hit something. "It's just a rock." Jewel said calmly as we kept walking. "Oh, right. Yeah." Blu said before we heard him whimpering. "What?" I asked annoyed.

"Is that a spider on my back?" Blu asked scared. "Will you quit it?! It's just a leaf. Turn around." Jewel said as he slowly turned around and we actually saw a spider on his back. "Um..." Jewel said before I rolled my eyes and hit it off his back.

"Leaf. Told you." I said lying to him. We kept walking. "Now, uh, just come on. We need to find a safe place to spend the night." Jewel said as we looked around. "Safe? Safe? We are in the jungle. You know when people say, 'It's a jungle out there'? Well, I'm pretty sure they don't mean it as a good thing." Blu said.

"Look, I hate to break it to you, but this is where our kind naturally lives." I told him as we kept walking. "Hey, hey, don't talk to me about nature. I watch Animal Planet. I know all about the food chain." Blu said before he heard an insect buzzing and he screamed.

A frog ate the bug, then a snake ate the frog. "Aah! You, see? You, see? Out here, I'm just an hors d'oeuvre. Nothing more than a feathery spring roll." Blu said. "That is why we stay in the trees and not on the ground. After you." Jewel said gesturing up to the tree.

"Oh. No, I don't think so. Nuh-uh. No. I would feel much more comfortable in something man-made. Um... Hey. How about up there?" Blu asked and we saw a building and I raised a nonexistent eyebrow.

"I can't believe I have to drag your clumsy butt up there." Jewel said as I was flying. "Drag me?" Blu asked before scoffing. "Watch and learn." Blu said before he dragged Jewel. "Oh! Blu! Oh! Just wait one..." Jewel said before gasping.

I laughed. "Blu!" I said as I flew after them. Jewel sighs. "Who's dragging whose butt now, huh?" Blu asked Jewel smiling. "Ha, ha. Very funny." Jewel said smiling. Blu dragged Jewel more. Jewel and I laughed.

We got to the perfect spot. "You, see? Who needs flying?" Blu asked. "Birds. Birds need flying." Jewel said. "Flying is...it's freedom and-and not having to rely on anyone." I said. "Don't you want that?" Jewel asked Blu softly.

"Mmm, I don't know. Sounds a little lonely." Blu said softly. "Let's get some sleep." Jewel said as me and her huddled into a corner and cuddled into each other. "Uh...uh, I'm probably going to be up for a little while, muh, 'cause I'm-I'm still on Minnesota time." Blu said as Jewel, and I got comfortable against each other. "Good night." We said softly, before closing our eyes to sleep. "Good night, Jewel, Izzy. Good night, Linda." Blu said softly as we sleep peacefully.

*3rd POV*

"Excuse me. Sir? Have you seen my bird?" Linda asked a man, and he shook his head. Tulio was following her with a big stack of flyers. She kept asking around, but she kept getting no. She sighed in disappointment, and worry.

The next day came around and flyers were everywhere asking about Blu. Fernando found one and realized what he did. Linda and Tulio were dead asleep with flyers on them. Tulio was snoring.

"Mmm. Have you seen my bird?" Linda asked in her sleep. Fernando walked up to them. "Lady! American lady!" Fernando said shaking her. She shot awake with a gasp. "Blu? Blu?" Linda asked confused as Tulio shot awake.

"Oh!" Tulio said as he realized what happened. Linda looked at Fernando who gasped. "Wow. I know where your birds are." Fernando said. "You found Blu? Are you sure?" Linda asked before Fernando held the feather up.

Linda gasped. "It's his!" Linda said happily. "Let me see that." Tulio said taking the feather. Tulio babbled as he put the feather in his mouth before tasting it. "Hmm. You're right." Tulio said smiling.

"Okay. Where is he?" Linda asked Fernando. "Come on. Let's go. I'll take you to him." Fernando said grabbing Linda and pulling. "No, no, no. Linda, Linda, wait. We don't know this boy. We can't trust him." Tulio said.

Fernando looked at them. "I have to trust him. I don't have a choice." Linda said as she was right, Fernando is all she has at the moment.

Meanwhile

Some chickens who were painted blue were in the same cage the three macaws were in. Marcel looked concerned. He faced Tipa and Armando who had blue all over their hands. "Do you think I'm an idiot?" Marcel asked.

"Uh..." Tipa said. "They were three birds, two chained together, one is a tiny canary, in a cage. How could you lose them?" Marcel asked angrily. "They outsmarted us, boss. But-but don't worry. We'll get them back. I have a plan." Tipa said pointing to his head.

"Oh, great. What are you doing to do, wander the city calling, 'Here, birdie, birdie. Here, birdie'?" Marcel asked. "Well, anything sounds dumb when you say it like that." Tipa said before groaning as a cage was placed on his head.

Armando laughs. "Okay. We have to get the birds to the airport tonight." Marcel said. "But it's Carnaval. All the roads will be blocked by the parade." Tipa said before Marcel grabbed the cage he had on his head.

"And that's why I wanted to go this morning!" He shouted shoving him away. "Nigel." Marcel said and Nigel flew over with a squawk. "This bird is ten times smarter than the two of you combined." Marcel said.

"Yeah, well, if he's so smart, then why don't you put him in charge?" Tipa asked as Armando was trying to get the cage off Tipa's head. "I am putting him in charge." Marcel said causing Armando to close the flap on Tipa's cage.

"Stop suggesting things." Armando said angrily. Marcel opened the door. "Go find them, Nigel." Marcel said as Nigel flew out the door. Marcel watched as people were ready for Carnaval. "Hmm. If we can't get through the parade, we'll have to be in the parade." Marcel said. "Huh?" Both Tipa and Armando asked confused.

*My POV*

The three of us were pulling on a rope that was tied to a giant rock. "Are you sure this is going to work?" Jewel and I asked as we pulled with Blu. "Positive. Check out my math." Blu said and gestured to the drawing he made.

"Yeah, that's...that's comforting. Thank you." I said sarcastically as we kept pulling. "Look, let's just get this chain broken." Jewel said. "Right. Then we can go find Linda." Blu said as we got the rope hooked on a branch piece.

"No, you can go find Linda. Once this chain is off, we're going to go back to being free in the jungle. Deal?" Jewel asked as Blu fixed the chain on the rock. "Fine. Deal." Blu said raising his wing, only for it to hit the rope.

It came off the hook, and snagged Blu by his beak, causing him to get dragged along with Jewel. They followed the rope where the rock went, and I flew out of the way quickly before the rock could hit me.

They hit the rock and then landed on the ground. "Nice try, brainiac." I said as I checked over Jewel. They groan. I heard something. Blu gasped as they got up. "I think something's watching us." Blu said scared.

We saw baby toucans. They flew to Jewel and Blu. One flew into Jewel's arms and one grabbed Blu's arm and jumped. "Oh, be careful Blu. They might snuggle you to death." Jewel said as I flew in the air just in case.

"Oh." I said before chuckling. "Aw, come here." Blu said as he picked up the baby bird. The baby pulled at his chest hair. "Intruders!" A baby yelled as a lot of them came out, and began hurting Jewel and Blu.

"Nope!" I said as I flew high enough where they couldn't reach even my tail feathers. A lot of them began messing with them and I saw them get wrapped in the chain before falling to the ground.

"Attack!" one of them said pointing at Blu and Jewel causing the baby toucans to charge at them, causing both of them to scream. "Help!" Blu shouted. "What's going on down there?" I heard another voice.

A male older toucan landed on the ground. "Go, go, go. Off with you." He said as he tried to get the baby toucans off Blu and Jewel. "Daddy! Daddy!" The baby toucans said before gathering around the older male.

I landed on the ground and checked on Jewel. "You good?" I asked. "Good as I can get after that." Jewel said. "Okay, guys, guys...I've told you a thousand times. Manuela, Sofia, come on, now. Listen to me. Ow! oh, yeah, right in the eye." He said as they kept jumping on him.

"Oh, precious, aren't they?" Jewel and I asked as I helped both Jewel and Blu up. He chuckled. "Kids? 17 of them, and one on the way. Hey! He's not a maraca! Stop shaking him!" He yelled as two of his kids were shaking the egg.

They giggled and flew off quickly. "They're giving me gray feathers. Oh, this papa needs a break. So, you two lovebirds headed for Carnaval?" He asked Jewel and Blu, and I laughed. "You think that?" I asked and he nodded.

"Whoa. Lovebirds?" Jewel asked confused. "Uh, we're more like acquaintance birds." Blu said. "And not even that. We're more like chained-to-each-other birds." Jewel said. "Yeah." I said nodding.

"I-I mean, if...Ow!" Blu said as one of his kids spit out some of his feathers. He giggled and walked off. "What is it with this kid and the feathers?" I asked confused. "We have no idea. We're having him tested." He said as he handled his kids.

"So, do you think you could help them get this thing off?" I asked as I held up the chain that held Blu and my sister together. "Hmm. Lucky for you, you know Rafael, and Rafael knows everyone." Rafael said as his kids flew off him and he held his wings out, causing me to giggle.

But his kids dropped on his eye. "Oh! Again, with the eye. Okay, want me to call your mother?" Rafael suddenly asked. "No!" The kids shouted and flew off scared. Rafael chuckled. "Works every time. They're scared to death of her." Rafael said before suddenly yelping as a female toucan came over.

"Aah!" Rafael said. "Call me for what?" Eva asked. "Eva, my love." Rafael said before chuckling as he walked over to Blu and Jewel. "I must take this young couple and their friend to see Luiz." Rafael said.

"Luiz? Huh. You don't fool me for a second. You and your amigo just want to sneak off to Carnaval." Eva said before crossing her arms. "Oh, Carnaval. That magical time when I met the most beautiful bird in the world." Rafael said before blowing a kiss at Eva.

"Aw." Blu said. "Ugh." Jewel and I said a little disgusted. "Huh!" Eva said turning away from him. "I still remember the song that was playing when I first laid eyes on you." Rafael said. "He's about to sing." I simply said and I was right. I was also sad...I wanted someone to love me like that.

"Tall and tanned and young and lovely. The girl from Ipanema. Goes walking." Rafael sang as Blu was dancing and as Jewel and I looked at him confused. "Come on, baby, sing it!" Rafael said and I suddenly had a bad feeling.

"When she passes. Each one she passes goes, "Aah!"." Eva sang really off-key causing me, Blu and Jewel to shudder. Rafael just smiled. Eva kept singing. "Like a river of the sweetest honey." Rafael said. "Ooh. I guess love is deaf, too." I said as I rubbed my head where my ear was.
