Shot 02

He stood in front of his house, blinking at the name plate hung on the wall. "Kara" he read and his lips curled into a smile.

"What are you doing Gauri?"

She moved back while blinking at the name plate that she just fixed. "Kara, sounds good right?"

He scoffed as he read it, "they all know me as Om, not Kara."

"Exactly, so your fan girls won't come looking for you anymore."

"Jealous?"

She scoffed while crossing her arms across her chest, "not even my foot!"

The memory stopped and his smile slightly weakened. He inches forward and watched a figure enter and close the door, his eyes creased and he instantly entered through the gates and towards the door, knocking on it.

The figure opened it, staring at Om with narrowed eyebrows "What do you want?"

"Who are you?"

The figure rolled his eyes, "Om. Omkara."

Om creased his forehead as he blinked at the unknown man claiming to be him.

"Why, who are you?"

"I'm Om. . . Om's friend."

His hands fell to the side and he stood straight as he faced Omkara, swallowing his spit 'shit! He's Omkara's friend?'

Despite the fear, he hid it very well behind his scoff, "Oh, hi. I'm actually Om's uncle, his Chacha." He introduced himself as Omkara's uncle and Omkara, who was stood in front of him merely gave him a simple stare.

"I raised him. He used to play on my lap since the age of 3. Even now, he still cannot sleep without me singing him a lullaby." He added with a small smirk, feeling slightly relaxed behind the lie he spread and Omkara nodded, acting amused despite knowing the lie he was telling.

"Anyways, come in. . ." He trailed off and moved out of the way to let him enter.

After entering, he closed the door and faced Omkara. "You can stay here for two days, after that you can leave. . . You see, Om is gone abroad and has given me the responsibility to take care of his house for him until he returns."

Om ignored his words, knowing that they were pure lies. He was raised as an orphan after loosing his parents at the age of 3, and had no other family to rely on, he doesn't even know if his family still exists, and this man is claiming to be his uncle. He knew for a very fact that this man is nothing but a thief, residing in his empty home.

His hands skim through the books on the bookshelf and he pulled one down, opening a secret passage. The figure was shocked as he watched the door slide open.

A nervous chuckle left his mouth, "Om told you about this secret room too? He can't keep anything in his stomach."

Om sighed as he turned towards him. He glanced at the opened room carefully, not having a clue about it and then at Om.

"What's your name?"

He definitely couldn't reveal his identity just yet, especially in front of him, he needed to be sure that this man in front of him isn't a man of Kaali Thakur who was kept here on a watch.

"Kunal." He lied, facing the room once again and entered, closing the door shut.

"Om's friend. . . Is he really Om's friend or is he here testing me so that I could leave and he could wipe everything out?" The man wondered as he raised his gazes, thinking about it, "whatever it is, I need to be careful. Besides there's nothing to steal from here, we can surely say Omkara was poor!" He added in a low tone with a sigh, licking his lips while walking towards the kitchen.

The lights turn on, and he glanced at the pictures of him and Gauri stuck on the walls. He slowly inched towards them, wiping the cobwebs that were in between and the dust on the pictures.

The flashback continued in his mind, which was triggered by his pictures with Gauri.

After standing in between his men, he faced one and slapped him across the face. "Why is she still there!"

Gauri clutched onto Om's shirt as fear occupied her. Om sensed it and continued looking at Kaali.

"S. . . Sorry." He apologised with his gazes lowered and Kaali faced Gauri and Om, who were missing.

"Where are they?" He questioned and all his men, including Ajay look in the direction, finding them gone.

"They were right there." Ajay uttered and Kaali clenched his fist while gritting his teeth, "Go, FIND THEM!" He roared as loud as he could, and his men ran in different directions to look for them.

Gauri and Om were running down the lanes, finding their escape route, which can take them away from Kaali Thakur and his men.

"Om. . ." She stopped and he halted too, facing her as she blinked at him with glassy eyes. "Go without me."

"No!" He exclaimed and held her by the shoulders, "I won't leave without you!"

"But. . ."

"You wouldn't let me fight, and now you want to leave? Come, let's keep running!"

"Do you realise the danger you could be in?"

"I have loved you, and will always love you. If I was scared of the danger then I wouldn't have taken you after hearing about Kaali Thakur and his men being after you. You are only mine Gauri, only mine and I will protect you till my last breath." She was touched by his words and hugged him as tightly as she could, he hugged her back with a small smile over his lips.

"There they are!" One of the men noticed, shouting as loud as he could to alert his men.

Gauri and Om break their hug and start running again, but they halted as Ajay was stood in front of them with few men.

"Leave her hand." He declared and Om tightened his grip, "not until I die."

Ajay scoffed as he looked at Om, "you're so fond of dying. . . Let me make you taste death!" He exclaimed and ran his hand down his waist, pulling a gun out.

Gauri's eyes widen in shock while Om was stood fearlessly.

"Make me taste it!" Om challenged and Gauri swallowed, holding onto Om's hand.

"Please. . ." She whispered with tears rolling down her cheek and Om sighed.

Ajay signalled the men from behind to start attacking, as a man approached, Om grabbed his hand and bent it, kicking him to the side afterwards. Gauri closed her eyes in fear, realising Om wouldn't stop now. Another man charged at him and he punched him several times, pushing him against the wall as hard as he could. While engulfing himself to fight three men, he turned back around only to see Ajay, the men with him and Gauri missing.

His heart skipped a beat and he panicked, "Gauri. . ."

Gauri was being dragged by Ajay at a gun point, "Please leave me. Please." She begged but Ajay wasn't bothered, he continued forcing Gauri to walk at his pace.

"Gauri!"

"Om!" She cried, and before she could call his name out again, Ajay pressed his palm against her mouth and hid behind the wall.

"Gauri! Where are you?" He shouted, disheartened and scared as he continued searching and attacking the men that charged at him.

Ajay signalled the men to attack them but they shake their heads negatively, refusing to fight him. After seeing the way he cracked the bones with his bare hands, they estimated his strength and one wrong move of theirs could result a broken bone for them.

Ajay grit his teeth and signalled them again but the lowered their head, hinting their final answer. Tears continue seeping down Gauri's eyes.

'Om.' She called his name out in her heart, praying he would find her.

Ajay's hand drop from her mouth and she raised her gazes, watching Om charging towards them. Ajay aimed the gun at Om, pulling the trigger but Om dodged it and held onto his hand, kneeing his stomach and punching him across the face. The gun dropped out of Ajay's hand and Gauri picked it up with trembling hands.

"Let's go. . ." She uttered and held onto Om's hand while aiming the gun at Ajay and the men, successfully escaping with Om.

While running, again. Om smiled as he watched the gun firmly held in her grip. "Ahh, I always knew you were a Gundi."

She gave him a small look, "this is no time to joke."

"I'm not joking. I loved the way you fearlessly scared them off with the gun." He complimented and she rolled her eyes, "my Gundi Gauri." He added to tease her and she lightly smacked him with the gun.

"Ouch!"

"Now if you don't run fast enough then I'll hit you harder." She threatened and he nodded, "okay Miss Don."

"We're finally here. . ." She sighed a relief as they stopped in front of the police station.

"Why are we here?" Om wondered and Gauri faced him, "we can complain and ask for protection."

"But can we trust them?"

"We have no other choice."

"What if. . ."

"I know you're against the police, but please trust me on this one."

He shook his head as he agreed to file a complaint, and the two head inside.

"Yes, how can I help you?" The Sub-Inspector questioned after seeing the two walk inside.

"We, would like to file a complaint." Gauri uttered and placed the gun on the table, surprising him.

"What is this?"

"We are being troubled and attacked by Kaali Thakur and his men, please help us." She requested while Om stayed quiet, not knowing why he sensed a negative vibe from this inspector.

His eyes scan his name tag, 'Bholu' he read in his mind and sighed a small chuckle.

"Wait, tell me in detail. What happened?"

Gauri nodded, narrating him the whole incident, including her marriage with Om which was stopped by Kaali and his men.

The sub-inspector Bholu shakes his head and finishes writing the complaint. "I'll take strict actions, this is truly disgusting!"

"Thank you." Gauri smiled at him, feeling grateful that he is willing to take action.

"You two get to a safe place, I'll call you once I arrest Kaali Thakur and his men."

"No, call us once you have him behind the bars." Om uttered with a tinge of sternness in his tone and Bholu nodded.

"Thank you." He coldly uttered and then walked towards the exit with Gauri.

"See, not every police officer is corrupt. He said he will help us."

"The safest option will be to run away from this city and start somewhere fresh, we can never be so sure." He suggested and she nodded, agreeing with him.

The two head onto the main road and start running again.

The sun set and painted the sky dark. The stars were shining and the moon was hidden behind the clouds.

Gauri and Om stop at a bus stand, taking a deep breath and faced each other.

"Are. . . You okay?" She nodded her head and he held her hand tightly. "Do you want anything?"

"No." She softly replied and firmly clutched onto his hand, feeling safe and secure.

His eyes move towards the bus heading their way and he instantly started waving at it, letting go of her hand and moving slightly forward. The bus stopped and he held her hand again, rushing towards the bus.

"Where do you want to go?" The conductor asked and Om and Gauri shrugged, "the last stop." Om replied and the conductor nodded.

The two head towards the back seats and sit down, feeling relieved and smile, facing each other.

"All this would soon be over." He assured, cupping her cheek and she nodded at him.

"Here's your ticket and that would be. . ." Gauri took the tickets and Om slid his wallet out to pay.

The bus driver began to drive and the conductor walked to the front again after taking the money. Gauri rested her shoulder on his head and he tilted his head to the side, feeling her hair on the side of his neck.

Her phone buzzed and she looked down at it. "It's the inspector." She uttered and lifted her head from his shoulder, answering the call.

"Hello?"

"Hello, where are you?"

"We, we're in a bus." She replied and looked at Om. "Where is it going to?" She whispered and he looked down at the ticket. "Lucknow."

"Lucknow."

"Okay, stay safe."

"Okay, thank you sir." She disconnected the call and Om looked at her. "What did he say?"

"He said he is preparing to catch Kaali Thakur and to stay safe."

"Okay."

Soon the bus stopped with a jerk, confusing everyone on the bus. Black cars surround the bus, turning their headlights on.

Om stood up, walking forward but Gauri held his hand and shook her head. He sighed, moving back towards her. Gauri's eyes caught the face of Ajay entering the bus with his men and gasped. Seeing her expressions, Om glanced to the side to see Ajay.

"Everyone, evacuate the bus now!" One of the man from the troop yelled, threatening them with a knife.

Startled and scared, they all stood up to run for their life.

"What made you think you can run from us?" Ajay asked, scoffing at Om and Gauri with his evil smirk.

Om clenched his fist and Ajay sighed, "at first we would've made you watch her getting married to Bhai but now, he wants both of you dead!"

Ajay walked forward and so did Om, the two punch each other and start fight. One of the man from the troop, walked towards Gauri and grabbed her hand.

"You should've just came to Bhai. Why did you do so much drama?" He asked, jerking her arm.

"You don't know what mistake you've made by touching me. . ." She trailed off in a fearless tone, staring at his face.

"What would you do?" He scoffed as he questioned.

"What's your name?"

"Why?"

"Look behind you." She confidently uttered and he turned, watching Om best Ajay and all their men, fighting really well.

He gulped and pulled on Gauri, sliding his knife out. "Ayy!" He yelled, placing the knife on her neck.

Om turned, only to be shocked. He couldn't think for a while and Ajay managed to successfully beat him down to his knees.

"Please leave her. This is between me and you, let's solve this. Just. . . Leave her." He practically begged in a low tone, enduring the kicks and punches he's receiving while being on his knees.

"Good work Siddhu, cut her neck. If she can't be Bhai's then she can't be anyones." Ajay ordered, revealing the name of the guy who held Gauri on a knife point.

"No. Please leave. . ." Before Om could complete his sentence, a knife is pierced through his skin and he gasped.

"Ommm!" Gauri screamed and tried to move but the knife was pressed against her neck.

Tears roll down her eyes and his eyes watered, "please leave her." He begged and she cried, Siddhu looked at Ajay who signalled him.

Ajay stabbed Om once again, and again, and again, until his anger was satisfied. Siddhu slides the knife on Gauri's neck and she fell on her knees, and then onto the floor. Tears fall out of her eyes and she lifted her head, looking at Om who started crying.

"Gauri!" He cried and tried to inch towards her but Ajay kicked him onto the floor, and he fell stomach flat, merely lifting his head as he watched the love of his life close her eyes in front of him.

"Is the work done?" A familiar voice grabbed Om's attention.

"Yes, this wouldn't have been possible without your help Inspector."

"They're so naive and stupid. They came to me and thought I'd help them. I guess they didn't know I'm Bhai's cousin." Bholu laughed and Om slowly closed his eyes.

"Burn the bus and we will say it was a fire incident." Bholu ordered and the men nod, stepping out.

Tears fall out of his eyes as he watched the picture. He felt guilty, bad and heartbroken to have failed to protect the love of his life.

He opened his bag, pulling out few photos and glanced at them after spreading it out on the table. "I'm not going to stay quiet, I will get my revenge." He determinedly uttered, flapping his eyes at the pictures of, Kaali Thakur, Ajay, Siddhu and Bholu.
