Shot 2: She Changed Me

3 days later,
In a small brown wooden hut, Omkara laid bare chested, merely wrapped in a white bandage over the arm with a yellow stain of turmeric in the middle. Flash of him getting shot and falling flashed in his mind and he opened his eyes straight after, exhaling as he glanced around. He felt a sting on his arm and looked down at it, sighing a relief. He was alive but not well, getting shot was beyond his imagination, he never dreamt of having a scar of a bullet, ever in his life cause he's not the type to get into any sort of trouble.

"Ahhh." He hissed and forced himself to sit up despite the immense pain he was receiving with the movement.

He realised he was shirtless and glanced down at his chest and sighed, glancing around afterwards. "Where am I?"

Image of him falling back with Gauri flashed in his mind for a second, "that girl. . . This is all her fault!" He cussed in anger and stood up, swallowing as his arm pained.

He sees his shirt laying on a stool and leaned forward, picking it up. He starts wearing it but finds it a little difficult as he is wounded, he grit his teeth, enduring the pain and put his wounded arm through the sleeve, exhaling continuously afterwards. He pressed on his arm and his eyes fell on his phone, he held it and turned it on, but it wouldn't turn on.

After several tries, he angrily threw it on the floor, smashing it and grit his teeth, his gazes then move to a dress placed in a corner and creased his forehead, realising that was the dress Gauri had worn.

"This dress is that girls. So this means she's here too." He mumbled and glanced at the door, heading towards it.

He reached out, opening the door and covered his eyes with his other hand instantly, being sensitive to the bright sun light.

"Where is my Gauri!" Mrs Sharma questioned in distress as she stood in front of the police officers.

"We are still trying, but. . ."

"But what? It's been 3 days since my daughter went missing. Why haven't you found her yet?" She yelled, and closed her moist eyes, devastated and depressed ever since her daughter had fell.

"Aunty please calm down." Naira uttered, holding Mrs Sharma by the shoulder.

"How can I. . ."

Naira felt guilty and inhaled, to keep her tears inside her eyes and moved her hand down, holding onto Mrs Sharma's hand. "This is all my fault, and I promise you that I'll find your daughter Gauri."

"I just want my daughter." Cried Mrs Sharma and covered her face with her drape. "Gauri will be back Aunty." Naira assured and then faced the officers.

"Please do your best, please find Gauri." Naira requested as she joined her hands together and the officers nod.

Mrs Sharma swallowed and lifted her head, looking at Naira. "Thank you for staying with me and helping me find Gauri, despite being in pain, fright and going through a nightmare."

Naira shakes her head as she turned towards Mrs Sharma. "Whatever happened was destined, no one could've changed that, but now I want justice and I'm waiting, I want the police to avenge his death."

Mrs Sharma caressed her face, blinking at her with emotions. "You're brave, and strong."

She held Mrs Sharma's hand, bringing it down from her face. "After we find Gauri, we will get justice for Rohit." Naira uttered and Mrs Sharma nodded her head positively, promising Naira.

"The boy regained conscious!" The woman's voice echoed as loud as it could across the area and Omkara removed his hand from his eyes slowly, blinking at the lady sat on the traditional woven bed, also known as khatia/charpai and his gaze move to the side.

Men holding long wooden sticks stood at a distance in a row, blocking the way ahead and his 6th sense kicked him, being alerted by their expressions. As they approach him, he examined the surrounding for an escape route and one of the man raised his stick, aiming it towards him. Before it could touch him, he dodged it and kicked the man in the stomach, pulling the stick from his hand. His eyes more towards the other three, who charge towards him. He swallowed, swinging the stick in front of him to stop them.

"Why are you attacking me?" He asked and they remained silent.

The man who Omkara kicked clenched his fist, approaching him and to defend himself, he smacked the stick on his head.

"Ahh!" He hissed and held his head, stumbling back. Omkara then attacked the remaining three, dropping their sticks out of their hands and ran.

"What is happening?" He was confused and in pain, not knowing what to do and which way to go.

A woman grabbed onto his hand, stopping him and he looked down at her. "Beta, your friend. . ."

"My friend?" He was confused and turned, seeing the men approach him again and panicked.

"They're forcing her to marry. Please go save her."

"I don't understand what you're saying, I don't have a friend." He hurriedly uttered and freed his hand, rushing forward and the men chased him.

"That girl we found with you. . . They're forcing her to marry." A man uttered as he stopped in front of Omkara, confusing him.

"Huh?" Gauri's image appeared in his mind for few seconds and he realised, looking down at the man.

Before the men behind him could attack him, the man in front pulled Omkara to the side, saving him.

"Leave him alone."

"Don't get involved Lakhan."

"Go, that way." The man, also known as Lakhan pointed towards a direction. "I'll take care of them." He added, taking the stick from Omkara's hand, staring at the men and Omkara rushed in the direction he was told.

The men tried following but Lakhan became a barrier, blocking them.

Omkara found his way towards a crowded place and was spotted by few people, who walk towards him.

"You're awake. Thank god."

"Please stop this wedding, that poor girl is sacrificing herself."

"Do something beta, please, we can't see this injustice."

Omkara was confused, narrowing his eyes and the woman began telling him the story.

3 days earlier,
Gauri and Omkara had fell into the water, swaying to the nearby village and laid on top of the rock wounded and unconsciously, with Omkara underneath and Gauri on top, resting her head over his chest.

Soon few men came out for fishing and saw Gauri and Omkara in a wounded condition, deciding to help them recover and took them to their village.

"Arey, you were gone fishing for fish, not humans, where did you find them?" Asked the herb-woman.

"On the rock." One of the man who brought them says.

Soon the herb-woman stats treating them, Gauri gains conscious before Omkara.

Everyone take care of her, then later in the evening, the nearby village people come for a festival that happened that day, there, a man saw Gauri and started liking her.

He then decides to marry her but the village people were against it as she's from the city and not villages, the man didn't care, he went to speak to Gauri and Gauri rejected his proposal.

He got angry.

"I will give you 2 days to decide, if you disagree then your this friend will be no longer in this world!" The man warns.

Then the man told the herb-woman to keep him unconscious till the marriage had happened.

The village people unwilling had to agree to them as he had the power to destroy them.

The man and his village people stay there for two days.

The wedding preparations even started but Gauri still didn't agree.

Then a night before the wedding, the man was about to kill Omkara but Gauri stopped him and agreed for the marriage.

Omkara was startled with what he had just heard and glanced up, seeing Gauri sat in the Mandap under the tree with bridal attire. No one in the village were happy with this wedding, but felt helpless and weak to help Gauri out.

"Listen Pandit! Don't stop the mantra's and if you do under any circumstances then I would cut your tongue off!" The man threatened the pandit and he swallowed in fright, shaking his head positively.

After calming his frightened heart, the pandit starts reading the mantra's.

Gauri was upset and disappointed, 'He's in that condition because of me. I won't let anything happen to him.' Gauri uttered in her mind and convinced herself. Her heart was palpating, this forced marriage isn't something she wants, an urge to run away was occupying her mind however her heart wouldn't allow her to leave Omkara all on his own and in danger.

"Call the Brides father for Kanyadaan." The pandit says as he looked at the people stood behind him.

"I, don't have, a. . . Father." She replied in discomfort and lowered her gaze.

"Were you born out of wedlock?" The man who wanted to marry her asked as he faced her and she shakes her head negatively.

"I was adopted." She uncomfortable replied and he shook his head. "It's okay, you'll have a new family." He uttered in response and the glanced around.

"You. . ." He pointed at an old man, "come here and do this ritual, you're old enough to be her father." He rudely ordered and signalled him to come up.

The old man shook his head negatively. "This is wrong!" He retorted and the groom grit his teeth in anger.

"I'll see you later. . ." He threatened and cocked his head to the side. "Chachaji, you come and do this ritual."

"Okay." The uncle agreed and the pandit read the mantras again, remembering the words of the groom.

The uncle took a place next to Gauri, ready to complete this ritual.

"I can't let her sacrifice her life for me, this isn't right." Omkara uttered, not pleased to witness this forced marriage, he immediately rushed forward to stop the marriage as soon as possible.

Before the uncle could place Gauri's hand in the grooms, Omkara slid his hand in between, holding Gauri's hand. The groom and Gauri shockingly glance to the side, seeing Omkara between the two.

The pandit stops, but then fearing about what the groom said, he continued reading them.

He pushed Gauri's hand, making the flower fall into the fire.

"Are you stupid, why would you do that just for me?" She was pleased, to see him perfectly fine and smiled, relieved because now she wouldn't be forced to marry.

The groom angrily stood up and Omkara stood facing the groom.

"What the. . ." The groom raised his hand to punch Omkara but Omkara held his hand and Gauri stood up, facing the two.

The Pandit increased the speed of reading the mantras. Omkara pushed the groom and he fell to the side. The pandit forwarded the tray of varmalas and the groom stood up, seeing the tray, Omkara picked one up and threw it to the side, which fell on Gauri and then threw the other one, which Gauri caught. After that he took the tray and slammed it across the grooms face.

The men from the other village walk forward to help the groom. Omkara turned, looking at men behind Gauri, who pushed her forward and as she fell, the varmala was in the air and fell on Omkara and she held onto Omkara's arm, stabling her balance.

He holds her hand and pulls her behind him, staring at the men in anger. The men approach him and he kicked them each time they walked forward. He moved forward, not realising he was holding Gauri's hand and pulled her with him too, on the other end of the fire, fighting the men.

The men move around in a circle and to avoid them, he runs around the fire. Gauri sees a stick on the floor and bent down while walking around, picking it up with her left hand and gave it to Omkara, who stopped after holding it and moved her in front of him, swinging it in front of the men. Gauri moved around, while Omkara followed and kicked the men, facing the men.

Like this, they unknowingly complete 7 rounds, the pandit curled a small smile as he inhaled a deep breath while reading the mantras in a hurry. The men were all injured and on the floor, Gauri and Omkara stopped as they sighed a relief and faced each other.

"You. . ." The groom swings a sword forward and before it could hit Gauri, he grabbed onto it and Gauri turned her head, feeling blood dripping on her hairline.

The pandit sees this and glanced in the air while reading the mantra's.
Omkara pushed the sword the other way and kicked the groom, letting the sword and the groom drop. 'God, is this your sign, was this jodi meant to be?'

The pandit then stood up, assuming this as sigh from God and forwarded the platter in which the Mangalsutra and Sindoor laid.

"You filled her hairline, now do the last ritual. . ." He uttered, grabbing Gauri and Omkara's attention.

"What?" The two were shocked and confused as they blinked at the Pandit.

"Yes, we all witnessed the 7 rounds, the varmala ritual, hairline being filled with your blood. . ." The man who refused to do the kanyadaan replied and the villagers shook their heads positively, agreeing to him.

Gauri and Omkara remember what had happened and widened their eyes, facing each other.

"Now you're married, there's this last step left." The pandit declared and Omkara shook his head.

"This is ridiculous. . ." Omkara retorts "how can we be married, this is. . . Absurd!"

"Don't disrespect it like this beta, what happened was destined to happen, it was Gods will." The Pandit uttered and Omkara looked at him in disbelief while Gauri was stood silent and in shock.

"What God? There. . ." Gauri held his hand, stopping him and he looked down at her.

"They believe in God, they won't let you disrespect him. Please, just do as they say and when we go back, we'll null it because this marriage would be baseless." She whispered and he gave it a thought.

Seeing the villagers and the pandit, sensing a vibe, he sighed and lifted the Mangalsutra, making her wear it.

"This marriage is completed." The pandit declared and the villagers blessed the two happily.

*

After the absurd marriage, Gauri and Omkara had left from that village, finding their way back to Bareilly. There was dead drop silence between the two, creating an awkward atmosphere.

". . ." Gauri opened her mouth to apologise but failed to get her words out.

"This is all your fault!" He exclaimed in irritation and she blinked at him. "I wish I never met you. You dragged me into all of this!" He continued and she dropped her mouth at his tone.

"I agree, it was my fault." She retorted and continued "but who told you to be a hero and stop the marriage!"

"Why did you even agree?"

She scoffed, "so I should've let you die? Well I'm sorry, I'm not the type that would put another person in danger for my selfishness."

He scoffed too, arguing "Really? You already put me in danger because of your greatness!"

She narrowed her eyes and followed him, catching up to his pace. "Before shouting and blaming me for this, know that if you willed to help us then this wouldn't have happened, you could've easily took me and Naira away in your car but instead you stood there like a scared kitten and followed what the officer said!"

He stopped, turning towards her angrily. "Why would've I helped? I didn't know you and neither that girl. And I'm not like you that would put myself at risk, even though it was your fault, I got shot! You made my trip to Bareilly a nightmare!"

She was silent now, guilty about him getting shot and her being the reason.

"Now go your way and leave me alone!" He shouted, turning back around and storming off.

"Arrogant billa!" She cussed and he heard, but ignored it, finding his way out.

"What does he think of himself?" She added a huff and walked in a different direction.

*

After a while, Gauri felt tired after walking a long distance and leaned against a large rock, inhaling a deep breath.

"Help. . . Help!" She confusingly glanced around, wondering if she misheard. "Help!" Heading the yelp again, she leaned off the rock and walked forward.

She moved the leaves hanging from the tree and looked forward, seeing Omkara stuck and drowning in the mud.

"Hel. . ." He stopped as soon as his eyes caught a view of Gauri and she chuckled, seeing him in trouble.

He grit his teeth, glaring at her and she pressed her lips together.

"Now I'm sure this is my fault too, right?" He looked away, putting his strength in to lift his legs.

"I don't need your help so you can leave." He rudely replied and she narrowed her eyes at him. "Who even offered to help?"

Omkara gave her a quick glare and sighed, giving up as his legs were stuck.

"Have fun." She sarcastically replied and turned around, walking. He looked on, seeing her serious about not helping him and Gauri smirked, knowing he would call her for help, giving up against his ego.

"Wait." He uttered and she halted, smiling and then straightened her expressions, facing him. "What?" Her eyes widened seeing the mud covering his arms and glanced at him, who glanced away.

"He's near his death and still has arrogance." She mumbled and then folded her arms across her chest. "What, why did you stop me?"

He exhaled irritatedly, looking at her, "can't you see why I did?"

"Why?"

He grit his teeth in anger, yet calming himself down and unwilling uttered "help me."

"What?" Even though she heard, she pretended not to.

"I said, help me!"

"Oh." She nodded and then glanced around, unable to figure out how to help him.

"Are you just going to stand there?" He questioned and she sighed. "Shhh, let me think."

He shakes his head in disbelief and her eyes fall on a branch stick, she heads towards it and picks it up. "This should do." She nodded at her own statement and headed towards him.

All of a sudden, it starts raining, Gauri moves back, under the leaves of the tree, keeping herself protected from the rain, whereas Omkara is getting wet, and as the rain gets heavy, the mud gets soggier and Omkara could feel his arms loosening, therefore, he managed to pull his arms and hands out from the mud but isn't able to get out fully. Gauri saw this and walked forward, forwarding the branch stick and he grabbed onto it.

"Yeh Mausam Ki Baarish. . . Yeh Baarish Ka Paani. . . Yeh Paani Ki Boondein. . . Tujhe hi toh dhoondein. . ." Gauri sang under her breath while pulling Omkara with all her energy, falling onto the floor.

Omkara successfully stepped out of the mud and fell forward, falling on top of her. She shockingly blinked at him after feeling his body weight rest on her body. He blinked down at her and the rain continued pouring.

He moved away, standing up and she lowered her gaze, feeling awkward and managed to stand up.

"I didn't hear it, did you say something?" She broke the few second silence with her question and he sighed, wiping his hand on his shirt.

She cleared her throat and he avoided her, "thank you."

A small smile curled over her lips and she nodded. "You're welcome."

"Thank you for running under the tree instead of helping me." He clearly uttered and her smile faded, she shook her head in disbelief "Wow, what has the world come to? I saved your life again and get no appreciation at all."

"What type of help was that? If it wasn't for the rain then I would've drowned."

"Arrogant cow!" She curses under her breath, fully annoyed with his tactics.
"You're right, I didn't do anything, it was all the rain, the rain even pulled you out. . . By forwarding the stick, didn't it?" She sarcastically questioned and looked away with agitation.

"Pretty much, because the rain made the mud soggier which gave me the ability to climb out!" Sanskaar states and she clenched her jaw, and glanced at him, wanting to smack him across the face.

He began moving away from her and she watched him.

<<<< Her >>>>

Great, he left again and this time I hope I don't meet him. He doesn't deserve it. He's being annoying and too arrogant, does he have an issue against niceness? How hard could it be to be nice, or say a genuine thank you.

The rain drops stopped splattering on my head and body, which meant it stopped and I glanced up in the sky, confirming it. Shit! Now the cold breeze would blow on my wet body and I'll be shivering all day long, which means I'll get ill! Urghhh, this is getting annoying!
Why did all of this happen today? I don't even have my bed or Maa with me, so who's going to cook me soup and take care of me if I'm ill?

Maa. . . She must be so worried about me, being missing for three days isn't small, I just hope she's taking care of herself. I need to reach home as soon as possible, for Maa, I wish she isn't sick.

But which way should I go? I don't even know anymore, what if I get lost instead? This jungle looks big, I'm sure I'll be going in the wrong direction, however, my heart is compelling me to choose that route, which I sighed at. Why not, it's now or never. I might as well give this route a chance, who knows, this route may lead me to my home. Wasting no more time, I took the left route and started walking through the windy air and the jungly area, cold, alone, lost and tired.

*
<<<<Him>>>>

That girl, this is all her fault!
I'm hoping not to see her again, she is the reason why I was shot, nearly attacked by village men, and in this jungle, alone and cold.
I'm so annoyed right now, literally angry and irritated. How the hell am I, the Omkara Singh Oberoi in this awful condition, I mean how!

While walking, I glanced around and thankfully the rain stopped. If it wasn't for the rain, I would've died by drowning in that mud. Alias, I can now walk through this wet and soggy mud without having to semi-close my eyes, yet the rain would increase the chances of me slipping, falling and hurting myself while finding my way through. Why can't my life get any better? Right now I'm craving for my family, my house, my bed and my city, Mumbai. Staying here gives me anxiety, I just can't cope. Never have I ever been in this tiring situation, it's all because of that girl! When I get back, I'm going to put charges against her for kidnapping me and if I fall ill, then I will sue her!

I am so determined about my decision, no one has ever dragged me into this situation expect that Pagal Ladki! All of this happened because of her, she had to find my car and me! I curse the day I first met her.

I gazed around and saw two routes, which way should I go, left or right? After a moment of thinking, I decided to mark my way towards the right route, as they say, right is always right and I'm hoping for a positive result. I don't even know what I'll do in this jungle all alone, I pray I get out from here as soon as possible.

*
<<<<Her>>>>

Tired and knackered, I entered a small hut that was located in an isolated place, it was a really scary and weird place to be in. It looks homely but unsafe at the same time, like anyone could walk in. I swallowed as I shut the door, praying for it to be safe. A door creaked open and I swiftly turned, glancing at the door that was behind me. Which hut has two doors?

"W. . . Who is it?" I mustered courage and asked, slowly stepping towards it. I wish it's a human and a woman!

What the hell!
It's him, what is he doing here? Has he sworn to himself that he'll keep turning up where I am and then he complains in the reason behind the his state, like I do regret it and do feel guilty but he's harsh with his words, which make me feel unapologetic.

"You!" The two of us yelled as we looked at each other and I rolled my eyes at him, "yes me!" I responded, and he made his famous akdu face and looked away.

I also glanced away, not fond of staring at his face. He isn't even worth looking at, what is there for me to see other than his long jet black hair and his jet black beard.

"I'm tired and not in the mood to argue, you can leave if you want but I'm staying here." He uttered, sounding tired and walked forward.

"Why should I leave? I'm also staying here!" I boldly retorted and walked to the other side, there are absolutely no reasons why I should leave, I came here before him, but there are reasons why he should.

I gave a quick glance and watched him rub two wooden sticks together and moved my gazes straight after, I guess he's trying to make a fire place to keep himself warm I bet. My eyes laid on a wardrobe and I walked towards it, opening it. There were few pair of woman clothes here and reached out for the red and white saree, I'm glad to have found these, now I don't have to stay in this wet dress for the night. I'm a little surprised with the way it is designed, it looks shockingly modern for an area like this.

I dusted the saree and glanced around to fund the bathroom to get changed. Wait. Why would there be a bathroom in a hut? I'm gone crazy, and there is no way I'm getting dressed outside or in here in front of him! I need to think of something. . .

*
<<<<Him>>>>

I felt like leaving as soon as I saw that girl but couldn't be bothered as I was too tired and my arm killed, being in pain sucks really badly. However I'm glad I'm on this side and she's somewhere on that side, between the charpai's.

It was so peaceful that I felt like I was all alone, which was more relaxing. I managed to light up the fire on the sticks by rubbing them together and threw it in an old and dusty fire place and it worked, pretty well. I wasn't expecting myself to actually do this, I was copying what they did in movies in this situation and I'm surprised to how it actually worked. Everything in films and serials should be illogical right, how did this miracle happen?

I lit two more sticks and threw them with the old ones, so that the fire is big enough to keep me warm. I can't risk dying out of pneumonia. On second thought, did that girl really leave, or is she okay.

But what's it to me? Why am I bothered, I shouldn't be because I simply don't care about what she does and where she goes. Now, what can I find to keep me warm. . .
My eyes fell on a hanger which had male clothes on it and I instantly stood, walking towards it. I took it off and stared at it for a moment.

It was a white shirt with the traditional dhoti's they use, why does it have to be a dhoti, I don't even know how to wear it! This is getting so annoying, why can't anything get better for me!
I searched and put my hands on a white trousers, they have trousers in a isolated area?
Without giving it a thought, I began dusting and shaking the shirt and trousers. I had to make sure they were clean for me to wear because I hate touching anything unhygienic and dusty. Especially now, it would be risky because I might catch an infection.

As I walked, I turned around and saw two charpai's standing and covered with a cloth to block the holes, with her inside getting changed. I shook my head in disbelief, disappointed to see her here and walked near the fire place to get changed quietly and in peace.

*

I finished getting changed, and sighed a relief, walking towards the place where I found the clothes from and hung my old ones on the hanger to let them dry overnight.

As I turned around to walk back to my fire-
place, she made her way out in a red and white saree, throwing her soggy hair behind her back. Her hands fixed the saree and her eyes examined for any creases. Red and white really suits her, making her stand out, she looks like. . .

Her eyes met mine and I changed my expressions, "Red suits you, you look like a Devil." I insulted and glanced away.

What was wrong with me, why was I complimenting her in my mind? This is absurd and ridiculous!

"What? Devil? What made you think white suits you? Black is your colour because you're an evil Demon!" I could sense the annoyance in her tone and faced her again.

Demon and me, is she mad, how dare she call me a demon, I'm much better than a devil like her.

"That white ruins it, you should be in pure red, people might mistaken you as an angel but little do they know, it's a devil in disguise!" I answered back harshly and left from her sight, taking a seat next to my fireplace.

Was I a bit too rude. I can't believe childish remarks like this are coming out of my, the Omkara Singh Oberoi's mouth! And this is, all because of that girl. She forces unwanted and silly things out of my mouth. Maybe if she had talking manners and was respectful. . .

*
<<<<Her>>>>

Devil. As if he's a pure angel, he would be a shame to an angel, they would cry to see such person being added into their list because he's a pure demon and an Akdu billa!

"And you should get changed before people mistaken you to be pure soul, little will they know it's a Akdu evil stone-hearted demon in disguise!" I was too slow but answered him back and huffed, I had to get it out of my mouth or the bugs in my stomach wouldn't have left me alone.

Plus, I do not care if I sound rude or harsh because he crossed his limits. He has no speaking manners, gosh, didn't he learn to be respectful and to talk humbly?
For a moment, I thought he was going to compliment me but now I feel stupid, how can I forget that I should never expect anything nice out of his mouth, he's too arrogant.

I'm waiting till the day I reach home, so I can request to issue an arrest warrant on him and push him behind the bars for torture and kidnap! I will drag him to the court for misbehaving, harassing and being mannerless.

I ground a small sigh, placing my hand over my stomach. It's cold down here and I'm hungry, where can I find food to eat? There wouldn't be anything here and neither am I willing to step out in this cold, rain, and dark forest just to hunt for few fruits. But I do feel the urge of fainting if I do not have anything to fill my stomach.

The mangalsutra!
It was dangling down from one of the charpai's I had hung it from and continued to blink at it. To assure myself it's mine, I ran my fingers around my neck and couldn't feel anything. It is mine. I scoffed, recalling the unwanted, unexpected, dramatic and filmy marriage of mine. Can I even call it a marriage? It felt like a remake of that movie, 'Singh is King', though we had our own uniqueness in it. I don't think I'm willing to accept this marriage or give that arrogant cow a chance, he doesn't deserve such pretty, smart and kind girl like me. How I wish this was a nightmare for me to wake up from, how I plead this was a dream for me to never think about it again but alias, it's the bitter reality.

I stood up and walked towards it, taking it off. Now that it's my property, I should wear it and keep it. Despite being forced in my neck, I don't feel like leaving it here, it's now. Mine!
I turned around after tying it around my neck scanned my eyes around the hut, not seeing a single hair of his in here.

Is he gone?
A small smile curved on my lips and I took small steps forward, making sure it's not a delusion of mine.

"Akdu Billa?" I called out, glancing around, not being able to see him.

Yes! He's gone! He really is. I cannot express how happy I am to see this place empty and only with me. Not being able to control the small happiness, I danced a small victory, and sat down next to the fireplace, warming myself up. I inhaled happily and closed my eyes, feeling the warmth of the fire touch my skin, this is comfy and relaxing, selfish he was, didn't even bother inviting me to it! He behaves like he's the only human on earth and in fact. . . Here!

But why am I spoiling my mood over him, I should relax now that he's gone. I just hope he's safe.

"Ahhhh!" I heard a yell and jerked.

Was that him? But why did he scream? Is he okay?
