A Kiss Goodnight My Love
Disclaimer: Keep ready some Tissues :O
"Daddy won't you tell me a story? " Kiran Singh Oberoi looked at her Father who was standing at the door of her Room. He smiled and sat next to her to tell her the much wanted Story.
"You want to hear a Story dearest? What kind of Story?" He asked and caressed her face.
Her hair was as dark brown as his but her face and her eyes were like her mothers. Whenever Omkara looked at his princess he could see his Wife in her. Whenever she pouted her lips when she didn't get what she wants or when she was happily jumping around like her mother did.
"Oh ho papa! You know which Story I would love to hear. The story of how you and Mama fell in love." Kiran got closer and hugged her Father tightly. Like always he was working till Night but he always managed to get some time off of work to be with her, His princess. She was his Everything.
"Alright One day there was a tiny little crazy woman. She entered your Papas Life like a hurricane. Everything changed the moment he saw her on the street with her best friend eating Pani Puri. He just couldn't keep his eyes off her so he walked over to her and asked her out." Omkara smiled remembering the first Time he met the love of his life. That Day had changed his life forever but he wouldn't change it for the world.
"And what happened then?"
"She slapped your Daddy really hard and asked how could he just come up to them and ask for a Date without introducing himself. Your daddy was shocked and immediately told her his name. I thought she would reject me for sure, this little girl from Bareilly really was a hurricane of mood changes." He closed his eyes as he relived those Memories.
"Sorry. I am Omkara. I have seen you coming here every day and today I just had to talk to you. What's your name...?" He smiled gently at her.
"Gauri, My Name is Gauri and yes I would love to go out with you. I was hoping you would finally ask me." She giggled and he had a hard time controlling his own laughter. The minute he heard her laugh he thought she sounded like an angel.
"Should I pick you up?" Omkara asked and gave her his phone number.
She nodded and told him her address.
Later in the evening he returned Home only to find his Mother talking to her close friend Kalindi. They had been friends since childhood, until Kalindi had moved away. Just a few years again she and her family had moved back to Mumbai.
"Of course we would be so happy to meet you and your daughter tonight. Yes Omkara is here too. You know that Tej and Avdhoot are trying hard to get these two married." Jhanvi laughed and saw her youngest Son Omkara coming up to her in anger. He didn't want to get married to some stranger when he just had met Gauri.
"Mom what nonsense is that? I won't marry her." He had waited till his mother had hung up before speaking, no need to insult any elder.
Jhanvi sighed and looked at her son. He was handsome looking and he had a good job being a self-made Artist and part-time Business Man but she wanted him to have a family. To live and love. And she knew that Kalindi's Daughter would be perfect.
"Please at least meet her once. Afterwards we can meet any girl you want." She said almost begging.
Omkara knew he couldn't say no so he said he would meet her only once and afterwards wouldn't like to hear again about Kalindi's Daughter.
"Daddy did you knew that it was Love at first sight? Or did it happen after you married Aayi?"
Kiran looked at her Father and tried reading his faces. Like always he was smiling but something was missing, something even she his tiny little princess could figure out what it was. Why did it seem like that no matter what her father was always sad?
"Yes dearest. The Moment I met your Mother I knew she was the one. I didn't need to see anyone else but since your Grandmother had asked me, I couldn't refuse. So..." again he drifted away into the Memories which made him numb. He didn't like to think about his past and those Memories but at the same time it was the only time he could cherish them and relive them.
So Omkara entered his room and decided to message Gauri when he himself received a text message from her.
Sorry can't make it today. My mother made some other plans.
Can we meet tomorrow?'
Omkara smiled and answered with an: Even I can't make it but looking forward to see you again tomorrow.'
Slowly he realized he had fallen in love with the Girl he just met. It wasn't just attraction or any lust but true, pure and divine love. He needed her like the air to breath and her smile made him go weak despite his strength. That woman could turn him into a little school boy the moment she would touch him. And he knew if he had to marry than it could be only her.
Hours passed and The Sharma Family arrived. Omkara was still lazily sitting in his room when his mother asked him politely to come. Their Daughter was eagerly waiting to meet him.
So he sighed and followed her down only to find that hazel doe like eyes to look at him in surprise.
She was wearing a light blue sari with silver ornaments, her hair was loose and she only wore minimal make up. But the thing that made her so ravishing beautiful was her smile which widened the moment she saw Omkara coming down.
"Gauri?" Omkara uttered her Name in disbelief and came running down.
She blushed and he hugged her in front of all. She pushed him away and looked down; feeling totally embarrassed.
"So Omkara? You are not against a marriage with Gauri anymore?" Jhanvi asked and both Families laughed. They went inside the dining room and enjoyed a feast. His mother had cooked his favorite dishes and as dessert Pani Puri.
Gauri looked up while eating and her cheeks turned crimson remembering the way she had met Omkara during her every day dose of Pani Puri.
She wasn't angry anymore at her mother for bringing her to the Oberoi Family because she couldn't believe that her would to be Husband was Omkara. The man she had always admired from far. She was truly happy and wanted to know if he too wanted to marry her. She needed to find out if those dark brown eyes loved her as much as she loved him. She needed to find out if those dark brown eyes were searching for her like hers for him. She needed to know it all and that tonight. Why should she waste precious time wondering if he loved her or not when she had the opportunity to ask him directly? She wanted to look into his eyes while saying those three magical words. Her first I love you to him.
Soon after the dinner the families sat down to have a talk. Omkara was asked to show Gauri the house and the garden.
Soon as they were alone he hugged her tightly and pressed her soft body against his hard one. She hugged him back too happy to be modest. Why should she? They would get married soon.
"Om?"
"Yes?" He looked down at her. She was a lot shorter than him, her head reached only to his shoulders and he had to look down to see her face clearly. She was smiling and blushing and looked at him in awe.
"Do you too want to marry me or...are you in Love with someone else?" She tried to play cool but failed. His smiled turned into a smirk and he decided to tease her a little.
"Yes... I love someone else." Gauri slightly pushed him away after hearing his words and tried to hold back her tears. Why should he like her? She was just average looking and too short to be his wife. The wife of an Artist and Businessman like him needed a sophisticated wife, someone beautiful.
"Who is she?" She had to ask and Omkara pulled her closer; caressing her face. Against her will her eyes closed and she breathed in. She was shaking and held on to him with all her might.
"I love the girl I met today...Eating Pani Puri on the street and slapping guys for talking to her. I love the girl that wore a wonderful salwar suit with her hair loose and her smile as her only accessories. I don't need a wife that suits my Status...I need a wife that suits me. And you are all I need and wished for in a Wife Gauri. I love you. You are beautiful and sweet and mine."
He slowly lowered his face to claim her lips. Softly he started kissing her but soon the kiss turned into more. He couldn't control himself and he pressed her against the cold wall. Gauri couldn't stop him because she liked it too much. Her hands were busy exploring his Body and soon they found their way under his shirt. His fingers were deliberately caressing her waist and his lips slowly moved to the base of her neck as they heard Gauri's Mother calling for them.
He cursed his ill fate and tried to gain his senses back. Gauri opened her eyes and she could see that he loved the just made love look he gave her.
She blushed and tried to straighten her sari before returning to their parents to tell them that they would agree for the wedding.
The engagement was soon fixed and after Gauri finished her studies both got married in a grand way. They were so young and in Love so they didn't fear the future.
He entered the room on his Wedding Night to see his beautiful wife sitting on the bed waiting for him, wearing a white lace gown that only went to her thighs. She didn't look up when he sat beside her. She could bet he heard her heart beating louder than she ever thought it could.
His fingers slowly traced her arms and drew patterns on her shoulder when she turned her face to him. He instantly kissed and laid her down on the bad. Gauri soon gave in to the kiss and forgot all her shyness. He took her on the sails of love and she enjoyed each Moment. She drowned in his Love and didn't mind it. She finally knew what heaven tasted like and she never wanted to miss it again.
He began undressing her and worshipped her body by kisses and bites which he soothed with his mouth. She couldn't think straight anymore and only gasps left her mouth. Her fingers were entangled in his hair and she pressed him even closer to herself.
Soon he started kissing her foot, her tights and her womanhood. As she felt his lips on her private part she screamed a little and he arched back to her mouth to kiss her into obliviousness.
His Hands parted her legs and he looked at her. "Are you ready? "
She just nodded not able to say a word. She wanted to feel him, all of him.
"It will hurt but I will make it worth it." He whispered and entered her in a clean thrust.
She felt initial pain and buried her nails in to his shoulder. He kissed her apologetically and slowly increased his pace. Suddenly Gauri realized that the pain was fading away slowly and she started to enjoy each thrust of his. Soon both reached the climax and he collapsed on top of her. She slept blissfully in his arms. Their Married life had just started to be heavenly beautiful.
"And then I was born right? After you and Aayi married and asked God to send me to you? Right?" Kiran asked and brought Omkara back to reality. He closed his eyes and nodded to her innocent question. How could he tell her that he and Gauri lit the Sheet on fire with their Love and Lust for each other? They were insatiable and Fate gave them their result in form of their little angel.
"Haan beta. Your Mother and I prayed a lot and after one and a half year she was pregnant with you. We were all so happy and started to prepare everything so you could live with us. We loved you and your Mother waited every day to hold you finally in her arms." No matter how hard he tried the tears started to flow and his 5-year-old daughter hugged him to comfort him. The way Gauri did too.
"Do you want a girl or a boy?" She asked and sat down beside him on the bed. He was engrossed in his files when she had asked the question so in Irritation he looked up at her. "Kya?"
"Do you prefer a Girl or a Boy? I want a Boy who will take care of me when I am old and weak. Someone who will protect his mother from all evil." She smiled to herself and he took her into his arms. He had never thought about it that way and soon decided he wanted a daughter. A princess he could buy anything and would away spoil her with gifts and his love.
"I want a girl. She should be just like you meri Jaan and she will be loved and spoilt by me. I will never let her reach any pain and as soon as she falls in love and gets her heart broken I will bury that guy alive. I would treat her as a princess." He smiled at his wife and she kissed him in tears.
" I am so blessed to be your wife." She whispered and they kissed each other gently.
But soon they discovered the dark sides of Pregnancy. Gauri started to feel unwell whenever she ate any food or had to wash the clothes. Also she had lot difficulties with her breathing so they decided to visit their family doctor. She was in her 2nd Months so they thought that was normal but it turned out that Gauri had difficulties in her pregnancy. There was only one way to keep her alive.
"You have to abort the baby. Else you will die during Child Birth. The risk is high that you won't survive Mrs.Oberoi." the doctor said and looked at both of them. Gauri was only 23 years old and didn't want to abort the baby. Omkara was torn between the love for his wife and for his baby. There were many other ways to have a Baby but no one could replace Gauri. What should he do?
"I won't abort my Baby Even If I die." Gauri whispered and Omkara looked at her in shock. How could she decide alone?
Didn't he too have the right to give his opinion to think about it again?
"Gauri let us think about it. There are many other ways to have a Baby. Why should you risk your Life?" He asked and caressed her Face. She didn't look at him. How could she face him after accepted the possibility of her death? At least he would have a part of her right?
"Because that wouldn't be OUR Baby Om. It wouldn't be the same. I want to give Birth to this child. It is the Fruit of our Love. How can you think of killing an innocent soul only to keep me alive?"
He stood up and stormed out. She had already decided to leave him and there was no one as stubborn as Gauri. She always got what she wanted. But not this Time he thought while driving home. She was quietly looking at him.
"Please. Let me have the Baby!"
Omkara finally gave in to his grief and started crying. He held her close to him and buried his face in her neck. She too began crying thinking about her unclear future.
"And then we decided to have you. Your Aayi had believe in God that both of you would survive and would be happy together."
"How did the story end?" Kiran whispered; half asleep.
"I will finish tomorrow. Sleep now." He stood up and tried to leave but she held his hand.
"No Kiss Goodnight Daddy?" She smiled faintly; her eyes still closed. She was just like her Mother Omkara thought again and kissed her Goodnight.
He walked into his Room to find it empty. He sat down and looked at his marriage pic with Gauri.
Even now 6 years later he still cherished her, loved her and worshipped her like he did when she was with him. Whenever she was lying next to him moaning his name when they made Love. She had never looked more beautiful than in the afterglow of their love. She was perfect. Would always be perfect in his mind.
Again his eyes closed and he remembered the Day she left this World and with this World him.
"Om...I know I will die so please take care of her. Tell her about me...about our Love. Let her grow up in the believe that sometimes Fate plays it cruel games with us but only to give us something even better. She will have you, so she won't miss me that much. Tell her I love her and I love you. You are my soul mate and I am waiting for our meeting in out next Birth." She could hardly open her eyes while the doctor tried his best to keep her a life. She had lost so much blood and they wondered how she still could be conscious. Omkara held her hand and kissed one last Time before she breathed her last breath. Slowly with her all his joy died and he didn't want to live anymore until the nurse gave him his daughter. The Moment he held her in his arms he knew Gauri would live through their little girl.
"Do you have decided on a Name yet?" The nurse asked as soon as Omkara left the operation theatre. He couldn't stand beside his dead Gauri. Never could he do that. And then he remembered the Name Gauri wanted to give their Daughter. A Name with a Meaning as majestic as his little princess. Because after all she would light up the Darkness his Wife had left behind.
"Kiran. Her Name will be Kiran Safiya Singh Oberoi." He smiled at the bundle of life in his arms and kissed his daughter's forehead,
Ever since then it has been only the two of them. His family and even Gauri's parents had asked him to move on. Gauri was dead and wouldn't come back no matter how much they wished for it but he knew he could never love anyone despite her. She was his heart not just his wife. She couldn't be replaced, never. No one could make him feel alive the way she had done. The only reason he was still alive was his daughter and for him that was enough. He was the father he had Gauri promised to be. What else could he ask for? His daughter was healthy and safe and sound.
"We only fall in love once. For some there is a second chance but for me there is no one but you. I love you Gauri. Always and Forever. You are my Jaan, my Saans, and my Heart. I miss you."
Again his gaze fell on the picture in his Hands and he smiled.
Slowly he lowered his lips and kissed Gauri's Photograph Goodnight.
"A Kiss Goodnight my Love!" he whispered and fell asleep with the picture still in his arms.
