Jenny and Dean watched from the Impala with horrified expressions as Sam somehow exorcised a demon out of a man with his own willpower. Jenny turned to Dean, who refused to look at her. He was too busy staring at his brother.
"I can't believe this." Jenny muttered before she and Dean got out of the Impala, walking straight to the motel room.
Dean opened the door as Sam was walking towards it with the man, stopping in his tracks. His eyes widened with guilt and fear at the look Dean and Jenny were giving him.
"So... Anything you wanna tell us, Sam?" Dean snapped bitterly, Jenny looking behind Sam to see the same woman she had seen with Sam when she reunited with him after Hell.
Dean walked towards Sam. "Dean, hold on, okay? Just let me-"
"You gonna say, "let me explain"? You're gonna explain this? How about this? Why don't you start with who she is, and what the hell is she doing here?" Dean pointed to the brunette behind Sam. Jenny focused for a moment, brows raising when she saw the woman's true face.
She was a demon. She smiled at Jenny and Dean.
"It's good to see you two again." Dean and Jenny shared a glance. Jenny clenched her jaw before turning back to the woman.
"Ruby?" Dean said in disbelief, and Ruby smiled a little. He turned to his brother. "Is that Ruby?"
Sam didn't respond. He instead looked to Jenny like she would help him. Instead, she stormed straight to Ruby, whose smile had since faded. She grabbed ahold of the demon, throwing her against a wall and pinned her arm to Ruby's throat. She grabbed Ruby's knife, ready to plunge it into her stomach before Sam grabbed Jenny's hand.
"Don't!" Sam shouted. Jenny twisted her arm out of Sam's grip and, using the arm she had pinned Ruby with, slammed her elbow into Sam's nose. Sam stumbled back, holding his nose and looked at Jenny in shock. Dean pulled Jenny away from Ruby, but she continued to struggle against him.
"How could you do this?!" Jenny bellowed, turning back to Ruby, who was staring at her angrily. But her looked didn't compare to the angry betrayal in Jenny's eyes. Jenny shoved herself off of Dean, fixing her shirt.
"Ruby." Sam said quietly. The demon continued to stare at Jenny for a few more moments, then looked over at Sam.
"Ruby, he's hurt." Sam indicated towards the man he had exorcised. "Go." Sam demanded. Ruby gave Dean and Jenny one more look before she turned and walked over to the man, and as Dean and Jenny watched her, she put the mans arm over her shoulder, ready to take him out.
"Where the hell do you think you're going?" Dean spat at the demon, who turned to look at him.
"The ER... unless you two want to go another round first." Ruby suggested.
Dean said nothing. But the silence from Jenny felt even worse than the silence from his brother. Ruby walked out with the man. Dean turned to look at Sam, who was watching him and Jenny.
"Dean." Sam pleaded, watching as his brother walked to the door he and Jenny came in through, leaving them behind. "Dean!" But Dean was already out the door. Jenny was still staring at the door, furious beyond anyone else's comprehension, and she turned to Sam. "Jenny... Please."
"I can't believe you." Jenny spat in a cold tone, storming out of the motel room.
———
Sam was sitting at the table, reading a book when he heard the sound of Dean's Impala pull up to the motel. Jenny and Dean walked in a few moments later, both refusing to look at Sam. The young Winchester got out of his chair the moment the two entered, frowning in confusion as Jenny pulled out Dean's bag, then her own.
Jenny shoved her clothes into her bag, her jaw visibly clenched tight as she angrily zipped up her bag.
"Dean, Jenny, what are you doing?" Sam asked, but the two ignored him, and continued packing.
"What, are you... are you two leaving?"
"You don't need us. You and Ruby go fight demons." Dean spat, Jenny raising her brows in agreement, but still said nothing. The two grabbed their bags, heading towards the door. Sam stepped in their way.
"Hold on. Guys, come on." Sam pleaded. Jenny jumped back as Dean punched his brother square in the face. Sam whirled around by the force, the two just watching him. "You satisfied?"
After a moment, Jenny dropped her bag, taking her own turn to punch Sam, much harder than Dean had. Sam hissed in pain as his lip started to bleed.
"I guess not." Sam commented, Jenny picking up her bag.
"Do you even know how far off the reservation you've gone? How far from normal? From human?" Dean asked as Sam stood up.
"I'm just exorcising demons."
"With your mind!" Dean yelled, lowering his voice after a moment. "What else can you do?"
"I can send them back to hell. It only works with demons, and that's it." Sam answered and Dean grabbed a hold of his brother. He pushed Sam backwards, walking with the force.
"What else can you do?!" He repeated in a louder voice, seething with rage.
"I told you!" Sam pushed his brothers hand away, and they stopped. Sam turned to Jenny with a pleading look.
"And we have every reason in the world to believe that." Dean turned his back to Sam, taking quick glanced at Jenny.
"Look, I should have said something."
"You should have told us the moment you started!" Jenny snapped, slamming her bag down again.
"I'm sorry. Guys.. I am. But try to see the other side here." Dean turned around to face his brother as Jenny shook her head in disbelief. Sam swallowed nervously z
"The other side?" Dean repeated, raising his brows and his brother nodded.
"I'm pulling demons out of innocent people."
"Use the knife!" Dean shouted.
"The knife kills the victim! What I do, most of them survive!"
"Most of them. Most of them survive if you exorcise them like you're supposed to, Sam!" Jenny stated. The three sat in silence for a moment.
"Look, I've saved more people in the last five months than we save in a year." Sam said. Jenny scoffed.
"Right. And how many have you killed in the last five months?" Jenny asked him with a hard frown. Sam turned away. A look of regret flashed over Jenny's face and she picked up her bag again.
"Is that what Ruby wants you to think? Huh? Kind of like the way she tricked you into using your powers?" Dean questioned his brother, looking to Jenny. "She's using him." Sam shook his head with a sad look, still staying quiet. Dean turned back to his brother. "Slippery slope, brother. Just wait and see. Because it's gonna get darker and darker, and God knows where it ends."
"I'm not going to let it go too far." Dean and Jenny smiled at that, Jenny's forced smile fading as Dean walked over to a wall. His slammed his hand on a lamp that day at a side table, flinging it to the floor.
"It's already gone too far, Sam." Jenny said, turning to him. "It went too far the moment you started doing this."
Dean put his hands on his hips. His back was towards the two and he was shaking his head, almost like he was fighting with himself with what he was going to say next.
"If Jenny didn't... you know... I would wanna hunt you." Dean turned back to Sam. Jenny turned to Dean, then looked at his younger brother, who was staring at her.
"... Jenny?" Sam hesitated to say her name, almost like he knew what she would say.
"If I didn't know who you were, Sam..." Jenny sighed, shrugging but she still wasn't sure if she would. Tears filled Sam's eyes and he looked down. "Other Hunters wouldn't hesitate to kill you."
"You were gone, Jenny. I was here. I had to keep on fighting without you." He spoke in a quiet voice, which only made Jenny angry.
"Dean was here too, Sam!" She shouted, stepping forward. "Dean was here! And you left him for a demon! A demon! You chose a monster over your own brother!" Jenny's voice broke as angry tears trickled down her cheeks. She poked Sam hard in the chest. "I told you to stay by his side and you didn't! You abandoned Dean when he needed you the most!"
Sam looked away from Jenny and squinted his eyes shut. She shook her head, clenching her jaw. "Now I know why Castiel told us to stop you."
Sam turned back to Jenny, surprised. Dean's eyes widened a bit. "What?" Sam whispered and Jenny turned to Dean.
"Cas said that if we don't stop you, he will. See what that means, Sam?"
"God doesn't want you doing this. So, are you just gonna stand there and tell me everything is all good?" Dean asked his brother. The three exchanged tearful looks and Sam looked down again. Jenny wiped her tears away, and z dean flinched at the sound of Sam's phone ringing.
"Hello?" Sam answered, pinching the bridge of his nose as he tried collecting himself. "Hey, Travis. Yeah, hey... Uh.. It's good to hear your voice, too, yeah. Um, look, it's not a really good time right now. It's— Yeah, okay. Uh, well, just give me the details, and, uh.. Carthage, Missouri."
Jenny stepped out of the way as Sam walked past her and towards a bedside table. He wrote the location down. "Looking for Jack Montgomery." Sam set the pen down as he hung up the phone, breathing deeply. He turned to Jenny and Dean.
———
"I can't believe it. Mom, a hunter?" Sam spoke. Jenny had finally filled the two in about what Castiel had done, and she nodded slowly.
"And a good fighters That woman could kick some ass. I mean, she almost took me out." Jenny stated, raising her brows at the memory of Mary attempting to knock her out.
"How'd she look? I mean... was she happy?" Sam asked Jenny. She was quiet for a moment before nodding.
"Yeah, she was pretty cool. Funny and smart. Really hopeful." Jenny looked at Dean, who shared a glance to her before they turned back to the road. Neither looked at Sam. "John, too. I've never seen him so nice before."
Sam sighed. Jenny cleared her throat, turning to look out her own window.
"What?" Dean asked his brother, who had a thoughtful look on his face. Sam looked out his window and shook his head.
"Nothing." He answered quietly. After a moment, he turned back to look at Dean and Jenny. "It's just, our parents. And now we find out our grandparents too? Our whole family murdered and for what? So Yellow Eyes could get in my nursery and bleed in my mouth?"
Jenny and Dean looked at each other, confused as they both thought of what Jenny had said about the past. They both looked at Sam in the rear view mirror.
"I never said anything about demon blood." Jenny stated. Sam's face changed to guilt and Jenny turned to look at him.
"You knew about that?" Dean asked. Sam refused to look at either of them.
"Yeah, for about a year." Jenny's brows raised again in disbelief and Dean shook his head, visibly upsets.
"A whole year?" Jenny asked, a frown on her face as she turned back around to face the windshield.
"I should have told you guys. I'm sorry."
"Again with the 'I should have told you.' And yet, you refused to tell us until we found out ourselves." Jenny forced a smile, looking at Sam angrily. She didn't want to be this upset about it, but since she had come back, Sam just seemed to keep on hiding secrets. She was afraid if he was keeping something worse than this.
"You've been saying sorry a lot lately, Sam. But whatever. You don't want to tell us, you don't have to. It's fine." Dean shrugged, going quiet.
"Dean." Sam said in a pleading voice, but Dean was too focused on the road. He turned to Jenny. "Jenny."
She said nothing. Sam huffed, looking out his window again. "Whatever."
I was thinking of having Jenny be understanding about the situation but then I remembered she gets just as angry as Dean (if not angrier) and that she also told Sam in her note to not abandon his brother. So she has good reason to be angry at him.
I really did want to though but i just don't see Jenny forgiving Sam for this especially with what she's going to be saying in the next chapter🤩
