Eleven
Jenny was kneeling at a safe, from which she pulled out the Colt. She smiled in relief, tracing her thumb on the handle. A man, Daniel, appeared with a shotgun pointed at Jenny's back.
"Hold it right there, friend. Drop the gun, be on your way." Jenny paused for a moment, slowly standing up as she pretended to set the Colt on top of the safe before spinning around and aiming it at Daniel.
"Can't do it, Daniel."
"Who the hell are you?" Daniel asked with a frown.
"A hunter with a grudge." She answered quietly.
"Thief's more like it." Daniel spat, cocking the shotgun. Jenny cocked the Colt.
"I just need it for a few days. You'll get it back, I promise you that."
"Not happening, ma'am."
"Look, I have a chance to save my fiancé's lives. My family. But I need the Colt to do it. So if you want to stop me? Kill me. But I'll just come back." Jenny lowered the Colt and walked past Daniel towards the door. She turned back to look at the man, who lowered his shotgun.
"There's some hunters in Lawrence, the Campbells." Jenny stated. Daniel shrugged.
"Never heard of them."
"That's where she'll be."
———
"Mary!" Jenny heard Samuel yell before she kicked the old door down, completely tearing it off it's hinges. Jenny stared at the door for s minute, shocked by her own strength before she raised the Colt.
She aimed the gun at Azazel, only for the yellow eyed demon to grab Mary and use her as a shield.
"Let her go!" Jenny shouted, gripping the Colt with both hands as she stepped on the door, entering Liddy Walsh's home.
"Where'd you get that gun?" Azazel gestured to the weapon in Jenny's hand. She cocked the Colt, nodding to Mary. Mary broke away from the demon, who was quick to escape its vessel. Black smoke poured into a vent in the wall.
"Shit." Jenny snapped, lowering the Colt.
———
"Mary, what else did he say to you?" Jenny asked as she and Mary walked out of the Walsh house.
"I told you, just that he liked me." Mary turned to Jenny with horror in her eyes. "What did he mean by that?" Jenny opened her mouth to answer, but nothing came out. Samuel joined them on the lawn.
"Liddy's a strong kid, she'll be fine." Samuel turned to Mary, who still looked like she was ready to pass out from fear. "Are you okay?"
"No, Dad, I'm pretty far from okay. Can we go?" Without waiting for an answer, Mary turned around and walked to the truck. Samuel turned to Jenny.
"Nice job in there. Kicking that door down like you're SuperGirl." Samuel smiled a little, stopping when Jenny didn't return it.
"I missed the shot. I didn't do a good job." She said defeatedly. Samuel quirked a brow.
"Take the compliment, Jenny. I'm saying that I was wrong about you." Jenny looked at Samuel in surprise. She wasn't expecting him to ever call her that. She turned to the truck where Mary had gone, then back to Samuel. She was visibly upset.
"We need to talk. Alone."
———
Jenny and Samuel were standing alone in a room. Samuel had his arms crossed, waiting for Jenny to speak as the woman was pacing back and forth.
"We have to kill this thing now, or Mary dies." She finally said. Samuel raised his brows in surprise.
"What? How do you know that?" After a moment, Jenny pulled out the journal.
"I just do, alright?" After a moment of silence, Samuel huffed.
"When?"
"I don't know, maybe today, probably years from now, but it's happening, trust me."
"So what, are you some kind of a psychic now too?"
"No. Well... Kind of. It's hard to explain. Alright, listen to me." Jenny walked over to the table and sat down. Samuel joined her. "You'll probably think I'm more insane than before, but I need you to listen, alright? No matter how fucking crazy it sounds."
"Okay..?"
"Mary is my fiancé's mother." Samuel's look dropped.
"Excuse me?"
"And I am your ... Granddaughter in law? At least I will be. But I know what the hell I'm talking about." Samuel gave Jenny a look of pure disbelief.
"You wanna run that by me again?"
"My real name is Jennifer Price. I was born November 19th, 1979. My parents are Phoebe and Henry Price. My fiancé's name is Dean Winchester. January 24th, 1979. His parents are Mary and John Winchester." Samuel stared at Jenny for a moment before shaking his head.
"I don't have to listen to this."
"Mary gets killed by a yellow eyed demon in 1983, and I think that this– what happened tonight– I think this is the moment that he caught her scent." Jenny stated, poking at Johnny's journal. "Now, if we don't catch this thing now, and kill it, and it gets away? Then your daughter— my mother in law. She dies. So I am asking you, please."
Samuel still didn't look like he believed Jenny.
"How did I know about the Colt? Huh? How did I know about the Yellow Eyed Demon? Or where it would be? I'm not making this up, Samuel!"
"Every bone in my body is aching to put you six feet under, but there's something about you – I can't shake it. Now, I may be crazier than you, Jennifer... but I believe you."
Jenny smiled in relief. "I mean, how do we find this bastard?"
"Right here, the list." Jenny opened John's journal.
"And with the Colt?" Samuel raised a brow. Jenny pulled it out of her jacket, glancing to the gun when an eerie feeling settled in her stomach again. "Here, let me see it."
Jenny looked at Samuel, staring for a moment before shaking her head. "Sorry. Can't let you do that."
"I'm your grandfather."
"In law. Nothing personal." Jenny corrected, standing up and grabbed the Journal. She blinked, and Samuel's eyes turned yellow.
"Sure it is. especially when it's me you're trying to kill." Samuel raised his hand and Jenny was slammed into a wall. She grunted, going to move but was unable to.
"Future girl, huh?" The demon stalked towards Jenny, shaking his head. "I can smell the psychic energy from you. You knew I was possessing Samuel this whole time."
Jenny grimaced, humming. "What can I say? I'm a good actress."
"I only know one thing that's got the juice to swing something like that. You must have friends in high places. So, I kill your friends Mommy? I hear I kill your brother, too. That's why you came all this way? To see little old me?"
"Oh, I came here to kill you."
"Hey, wait a minute, if you could sense I was here... Are you one of my psychic kids?" The demon leaned forward and sniffed Jenny. She grimaced again and turned away. "No. You don't have my blood in you."
Jenny stopped, turning to Azazel. "What?" She mumbled in shock.
"No, not you. But you still got psychic in ya. That's terrific, means it all worked out. After all, it's why I'm here." Azazel grinned.
"So that's what this is about, these deals you're making. You don't want these people's souls." Jenny said breathlessly, still in shock
"No, I just want their children. I'm here to choose the perfect parents, like your Mary." He was still grinning, like this was apart of his favorite game.
"Why her? Why any of them?"
"Because they're strong. I can see that you're strong, too. You got spunk. Strength. Shit, you could lead my army." Jenny furrowed her brows angrily, shaking her head. "They're pure, and they eat their Wheaties. My own little master race – they're ideal breeders." Jenny frowned even more. "Oh, get your mind out of the gutter. No one's breeding with me. Though, Mary? Man, I'd like to make an exception. So far, she's my favorite."
Jenny tried to lurch forward, glaring at Azazel.
"So why make the deals?" Jenny wondered. Azazel sighed.
"I need permission. I need to be invited, into their houses, I know, I know, the – the red tape'll drive you nuts, but in ten short years, it'll all be worth it. 'Cause you know what I'm gonna do to your friend? I'm gonna stand over their crib and I'm gonna bleed into their mouth. Demon blood is better than Ovaltine, vitamins, minerals – it makes you big and strong." Azazel explained. Jenny scoffed.
"For what? So they can lead your shitty demon army? Is that your big 'take over the world' plan?"
"Please, my end game's a hell of a lot bigger than that kid."
"End game? What end game?"
"Like I'm gonna tell you, or those angels sitting on your shoulder. No, I'm gonna cover my tracks good." Azazel leaned closer to Jenny. Despite possessing a man who probably took care of himself, she could smell Azazel's rotting breath.
"You can cover whatever the hell you want, but I'm still going to kill you." She promised, smirking. "I'll be the one to kill you."
"Right. Now that, I'd like to see." Azazel cackled. Jenny turned to him, clenching her jaw for a moment.
"Maybe I won't kill you today. But you look into my eyes." Azazel rolled his eyes and stared at Jenny. "You didn't kill my brother. Yes, you may have possessed him, but I killed him. I killed my brother to kill you. And I don't regret a damn thing about it." She spat. Azazel raised his brows in admiration. And intimidation.
"So, you're gonna save everybody, is that right? Is that it? Well, I'll tell you one person that you're not gonna save." Jenny furrowed her brows again as Azazel pulled out a knife. Her brows raised.
"Your Grandpappy." Azazel paused for a moment before tilting his head. "In law." He winked before plunging the knife into Samuel. Jenny's eyes widened in horror.
"No!" Jenny and Deanna yelled in unison. The yellow eyed demon turned around and sprung towards Deanna as Jenny attempted to free herself. As Jenny was able to release herself, Azazel broke Deanna's neck.
Jenny grabbed the Colt, looking around to see that Azazel was gone, and Deanna was dead. Jenny dropped next to the older woman, shaking her head.
"No. No... Oh god." Jenny shook Deanna, fear aching her heart. "Deanna? Deanna!" Jenny looked around, horrified. "MARY!"
———
Jenny sped down the road, slamming on her breaks as she saw Mary cradling John. Her eyes widened when she realized John's neck was contorted in an unnatural way.
He was dead.
"Oh god." Jenny waiting in her car for a moment, realizing the worst as Mary stood up, and kissed Azazel.
"No!" Jenny shot out of her car, slamming the door. But she knew it was too late. Mary made a deal. She raised the Colt and aimed it at Samuel, but the yellow eyed demon left before she could pull the trigger.
John gasped awake, sitting up quickly. Samuel dropped dead.
"Mary?" John whispered in confusion as Jenny lowered the Colt.
"You did this." Jenny said quietly as Mary reunited with John. Mary looked up at Jenny.
"What?"
"You did this to Sam. How could you?!" Jenny shouted, Mary turning to John, who was as confused as she was.
Castiel appeared next to Jenny and placed a hand on her shoulder. When Mary and John turned back, Jenny was gone.
———
Jenny gasped as she woke up, Dean's face completely blocking her view as he let out a sigh of relief.
"She did it." She mumbled, looking around and Dean frowned, helping Jenny sit up. His hand was clasped in hers tightly, lifting Jenny up to her feet. "I couldn't stop it."
"Stop what?" Dean asked, still confused as Jenny looked around. She stopped, staring at Castiel, who stood near the foot of her and Dean's bed. Dean turned, flinching when he saw the angel.
"I couldn't stop any of it." Jenny repeated. Dean looked to her. She had a look he had rarely seen on her face. Regret. Hatred. Defeat, too. "She still made the deal. She still died in the nursery, didn't she?"
"I... What?" Jenny was gripping onto Dean's arms, his hands rubbing her elbows in a soothing manner as he held her. "What did you do to her?" Dean asked Castiel, who raised his head.
"Don't be too hard on yourself, Jennifer. If I had sent Dean, it would have been the exact same outcome. Neither of you couldn't have stopped it." Jenny turned to Dean, who stared at her, far more confused than before.
"I met your mother. Your grandparents..." Dean's look softened in shock, upturning his brows as he glanced to Castiel, then back to Jenny. She didn't even smile at the fact she got to meet the only other woman Dean worshipped. Jenny turned back to Castiel.
"Destiny can't be changed, Jennifer. All roads lead to the same destination." Castiel answered. He hadn't moved.
"Then why'd you send me back? Why not Dean? Or—Or Sam why not let them meet their mother?" Jenny asked in a harsh tone. Dean couldn't speak he was so in shock. Castiel had sent his fiancé back in time. She met his mother.
Castiel could see anguished tears forming in the corners of Jenny's eyes. He had hurt her somehow. He didn't understand.
"For the truth. Now you know everything we do. And soon, Dean will, too." Castiel turned to Dean, who looked just as confused as Jenny. Castiel spoke without missing a beat. Jenny frowned at him.
"What the fuck are you talking about?" The couple asked in unison. Castiel turned to the window Jenny had been staring out of before the ordeal. Dean and Jenny followed Castiel's gaze.
"Where's Sam?" Dean frowned, now realizing that Sam hadn't run into the motel the moment he heard his brother screaming Jenny's name in fear.
"We know what Azazel did to your brother, Dean. What we don't know is why– what his endgame is. He went to great lengths to cover that up." Castiel turned to Dean with a robotic, cold move.
"Where's Sam?" Jenny repeated Dean's question. It was much harsher than she intended to say it.
"425 Waterman." Dean nudged Jenny and the two grabbed their jackets. Dean snatched the keys from the kitchen table as Jenny started putting the address into a small GPS device.
"You brother is headed down a dangerous road, Dean and Jennifer, and we're not sure where it leads. So stop it."
Jenny and Dean stopped at the doorway and turned to Castiel, who had a determined look on his face as he lowered his head just a small bit. He was trying to appear menacing. Empowering, maybe.
"Or we will."
