Prologue

"Who do think you are?" The gray-haired woman backed away from the brown-eyed male as he advanced on her, a butchers knife in hand.

"Leave me alone! Please! I'm your mother! Daniel! Ple-" the womans pleading was cut off as the man sliced the knife cleanly across her neck, and his eyes went black.

"You are no mother of mine. And now for the main course." He spoke as he turned towards the husband's study, where he was no doubtedly asleep over his
computer.

"Delilah? Honey are you ok?" An older man walked tiredly out of his study as he heard screams.
"Hey padre! Don't worry, mom is fine. I took care of her. Why don't you go to sleep in your real bed?" Daniel walked over to his father and slung an arm around his shoulders, tucking the butchers knife in his waistband under his
heavy jacket.

"Oh Daniel, when did you get home son? Did you bring Y/n?" the father was relaxed as he allowed his son to guide him to his room.

"No. But don't worry, I'm going to stop by her place later."
The demon forced the friendly words past Daniel's lips as the boy himself screamed silently. Trapped inside his own head.

"Alrighty then. She's been dying to see you again after you moved for your job. She still lives in the sam- Oh god! DELILAH?!" David yelled  his wife's name as he saw her on the bed. Her throat neatly slit and her eyes wide and lifeless.

"DELILAH!?" The father's voice broke as he rushed forwards to cradle his wife's body.
"Daniel! Quick start the car- maybe there's a chance!"

A dark chuckle left the demons lips as he stepped towards his body's sire.

"Actually, I am quite sure she is dead. I made sure of it before coming for you father."

Horror widened David's eyes as he droped his wife's body back onto the bed.

"Daniel why..?" his voice was hollow and broken as he looked towards the man he had raised from birth.

"I'm not Daniel." Another laugh rasped from the demon's host body as he pulled the knife from his waistband and approached the older man.

Before David could say another word, his head was dropping back as his eyes glazed over.

"Your turn now Y/n."

Main Story

"Ten minutes now! Come on! You can do this Y/n!" You force yourself to turn away from the chocolates that you had been admiring as you check your phone for the time.

"God I wonder if he knows about his parents?" A shadow passes over your face as you think of your boyfriend's deceased parents.

Guilt and sadness washes over you, and you make a split decision to go visit their grave again later today.

It's been a week since the funeral, and a month since the day they were found dead in bed.
Your boyfriend had been too busy planning the funerals and wraught by grief to visit you, though you had seen him briefly during the funeral.

"Y/n!" You're snapped out of yur thougts as you spot the dark hair of Daniel, and you happily leave the chocolate display behind to rush towards your boyfriend.

"Daniel! Hi! What fir-"

"Sory for interupting but you have to come with me! I have a surprise for you!" His voice is cheerful, but for a second, his eyes glint black. Meh. Probably just the lighting of the chocolate shop.

"Ok let's go!" You follow him easily. Unaware of the events about to take place as he grabs your wrist and tugs you along behind him.

"This way!" His voice rings with excitement as he turns into an alleyway, and the spark in your chest that was once excitement turns cold as he drags you to a dead end and pulls you around to corner you.

"Daniel? I don't understand? What is here?"

His eyes are definitely black this time, and a gasp leaves your lips as he approches you, his fists balled and delighted anger washed over his face.

"Here is where you die my dear."

Your blood runs cold as he utters those words, and a tall brunette walks out of the shadows, her tall heels clicking on the cracked cement.

"I brought her here my love. Shall we?" The man you once saw as your boyfriend pulls the brunette close to his side, and presses a passionate kiss to her lips.

"Daniel...?" Your voice cracks in fear and pain as you back up more, only to run into a wall.

"Oh Daniel is here alright," the black eyed monster taps his head. "but he's not coming out to play. He is screaming at me to stop though. He tried so hard to stop me from killing Delilah and David. Such a pity."

A sob breaks from your throat as you realise that yur boyfriend is gone, and there's no way to get him back.

"Go to hell you monster!" You mutter as he and his dark haired companion approach.

"Been there done that." He smirks with a laugh and he brunette joins in.

"I would consider yourself dumped there demon scum. Shame the boy is still in there. Oh who am I kidding. I could care less." A new man, seemingly a couple years older than you, maybe by two or three years, appears out of nowhere and taps both black eyed monsters on the forehead, and something like electricity crackles through them before they drop to the ground.
Very, extremely dead

Your eyes widen farther and you whimper, flinching away as the new man rests on hand on your shoulder.

"Hey don't worry! I'm the good guy here! My name is Gabriel. Most handsome archangel y'know? Eeyyy?" His cheerful tone is slightly scary after what had just happened, but you hesitantly look up to his face.

A glint of sunlight peeks through the clouds, and you get a glimpse of his eyes.
Golden. Like sunlight shining through a bottle of whiskey. Or copper against honey.
His hair, a tousled, shade of ash-blond.

"What was wrong with him?" Your eyes water with tears as the pretty man places a hand on your back to guide you around the two bodies and out of the alley.

"Demons sweetheart. Basically, demons used those two as their own personal chauffeurs to ride around in. Now, I'm going to take you to a couple guys, and they're going to keep you safe until you can go back home safely ok?" A cheeky smile lights Gabriel's face as he snaps his fingers, and suddenly, you're standing in a cluttered livingroom, and three men whip out various weapons, while a fourth, a man in a trenchcoat looks at you curiously.

"Woah woah woah! Easy there tigers! This is Y/n. Your job is to keep her safe until she can go home safely. Demons seem to like her." Gabriel turns back to you, and before you can protest, he presses a kiss to your forehead.

"These are the Winchesters. They'll keep you safe when I can't."
.
.
.
.
Months pass, and between work and your hunts with the Winchesters, you barely have time to see Gabriel.

But every night, and every morning, you manage to say a quick prayer to him.
Thanking him for saving you, or for the most recent time he helped you out or made you laugh.

A new mission is approaching,  and as you climb out of bed, the feeling that something bad will happen thickens with every passing minute.

Hours pass, and you're in the car with Sam and Dean.
The rain is faling thickly and you drown out the sounds of the brothers as you watch the rain out the window. Using the chance to silently send a quick prayer to your lover.

Hey Gabriel, so uh. We're on our way to our next hunt. The rain is pretty heavy, so I think. We're going to stop soon. But something feels wrong about today. Please be careful with whatever you're doing. And visit me soon!
.
.
.

You burst through the doors, a scream building on your lips as you collapse next to the golden haired archangel.

"Gabriel!" Your heartbroken cry can be heard resonating through the mostly empty hotel, and the guilty faced, white winged archangel a fee steps away manages a regretful sigh before vanishing.

Sam and Dean push through the doors, and their hearts throb as they see you kneeling next to your lover.

The two of you had been so close, him having cared so lovingly for you.

Memories flash by your eyes as you cradle the bloodied body of the man you loved.

"Think fast!" You laughed as you threw a water balloon at Gabriel as he walked through the door of your shared apartment, and his look of surprise as it hit him square in the face sent you into a fit of giggles.

The comicly outraged archangel lunged towards you and playfully pushed you onto your couch, punishing you with tickles.
.
.
.
Hours later, as the two of you snuggled close together on your shared bed, the two of you exchanged random kisses as you talked about a future.

Thinking of children and of marrage even.
His face had lit up when you mentioned wanting a daughter, and he had suggestivly wriggled his eyebrows as you laughed and hit his shoulder.

The memories flood through you. Each leaving the gaping wound in your chest aching more and more, until your sobs turn to hiccups, and the younger Winchester brother kneels next to you to pull you into a tight hug.

"It's ok to cry Y/n. We're here for you. That's what family is for."

At those words, you shove Sam away, and the approaching Dean backs away hesitantly.

"We we're supposed to be a family! M-me and Gabe! We were going to have a.. a little daughter! The whole.. the whole stupid white picket fence and big happy family with a dog and.. and a cat." The tears are rushing down your cheeks. Harder than ever as you grasp at Gabriel's shirt with one hand and tangle your fingers in his hair with your other hand.

"I-I found the engagement ring last week on his visit you know.."

With that sentance, the hearts of the Winchesters shattered, and a salty tear runs down Dean's cheek as Sam wipes away his own trickle of tears next to him.

"I was going to say yes... God knows I wanted... I wanted to say yes-" A loud sob interupts your words as you clench your hands into fists and lean your face against Gabriel's chest.

"I can't do this.. I need out." With one last kiss to his cooling forehead, you stand up, and throw yourself back through the doors, not daring to look back. Because you knew that if you did, you would never be able to leave him there.

Behind you, the shouts of the two Winchesters fade as you burst through the front doors and run to the nearest vehicle. Probably belonging to a dead guest.

You easily hotwire it, and you slam the door shut as you turn the wheel, drivng away. Watching the cursed hotel fade away behind you.

Epilogue

You sigh as you wake up for the second time this night, and hear the crying of your tiny daughter.

Six years old tomorrow, and still without a father.

Knowing the history of the Winchesters, you had hoped for the first year that Gabriel would come back to be a part of his daughter's life.
An unexpected daughter but still.

Every night, with tears in your eyes, you had prayed to him. To God. Castiel. Every angel and archangel you could think of.

You had even tried to make a crossroads deal, but the demon never showed.

Rubbing your eyes, you slid out of bed and walk out of your room towards your daughter's room.

"Gabriella sweetie, mommy's here." You tiredly sit next to your crying daughter as she jumps up to wrap her arms around her.

"There's a monster after me mommy!"

Usually this sentance would send you into a protective rage, but you simply shake your head and stand up from the bed.

The salt circle around the bed is still intact, and so is every monster warding sigel and trap.

"Honey you're safe. Nothing can get in here. This place is probably safer than Uncle Bobby's bunker." The little golden haired girl looks up at you, fear in her eyes as she points towards the hallway.

"But I saw it! A man! He had a funny smile! And he put his finger on his lips when I looked at him!" Your eyes soften as your daughter attempts to describe the man, and your hand subconsciously reaches for her nightstand table, where a holy water-filled squirt gun rests innocently.

"I'll check the halls ok sweetie? But I promise. I will never let anything hurt you."

You tuck your daughter back in, and she looks up trustingly as you shut the door behind yourself and do as promised. Walking through the hallways of what used to belong to you and Gabriel, but is now yours.

"Y/n?" A broken, vaguely familiar voice reaches your ears, and your heart clenches as you whip around, a butterfly knife clutched tightly in your left hand.

"Gabriel.." Your eyes widen and prickle with tears as the long lost archangel sweeps you into his comforting arms, and you drop your knife as a sob breaks loose from your throat.

Gabriel holds you as if it was his last chance, burying his nose in your hair and inhaling deeply as his hands grip tightly to your back.

Your own hands wrap tightly around his neck as you hold him close. Missing his embrace more than ever.

"Shush babe... your daughter is sleeping." His familiar voice is painful to hear, and you tear away from his tight grip to look at his eyes.

Still the same. The same as they were when you first met him.

The color of sunlight shining through a bottle of whiskey. But now a darkness clouds them as well.

"She's your daughter Gabe.. where were you..?" Sudden anger flows through you.

"Six years Gaberiel. Six godamned years! She had to grow up without a father. Where were y-" you're cut as Gabriel pull you back and presses his lips to yours.

"I've been dead. Y/n. Dad just brought me back, so after I asked the Winchesters where you were I came straight here. I missed you so much.. and I'm sorry that you had to raise her without me. If you'll let me, I want to be a part of your life again, and hers. "
The archangel pauses as he lowers himself to one knee after a moment of thought, and he fumbles a bit before pulling out a small black box.

"Gabe.." you start, but he holds one finger to his lips before opening the box.

"Y/n. From the moment I set eyes on you in that chocolate shop, I knew that you were going to be important. And I know that you had already found this before now, but-"

"-Yes Gabriel! Yes I'll marry you! Just kiss me already and come here so you can meet Gabriella." Your voice interupts his, and excitement flashes across his face as he slips the ring on your finger and pulls you in for a slow, passionate kiss.

"Mommy? Who's the strange man?" The quiet sound of tiny shuffling turns your attention away from the archangel, and you turn around to beckon forwards your half-asleep daughter.

"Come here sweetie. Come meet your father."
