Sunday
Peep..."Hey Vale it's me, just thought I'd call since your not returning any of my texts. Just wanted to apologize again for what Alicia said at the mall, she can be a bitch sometimes. Anyway, call me."
Monday
Peep..."Hey it's me, just calling because I didn't see you in class today, is everything alright? Miss Caruso didn't let anyone take your seat by the way, hah...anyway call me!"
Tuesday
Peep..."I'm starting to feel a little bit silly now Valentino, please call me so we can talk?"
Wednesday
Peep...Fine, you know what don't call, real childish of you to skip all of Miss Caruso's lessons just to avoid me, I get it.
After the last phone call I swore I would delete his number, I had it on the display and everything, but the phone started vibrating in my hand.
"Hallo?" I answered. Noise from running engines sparked the background.
"Alessia?" Valentino's voice was heard saying.
"Yeah?"
A door was heard closing and the noise stopped.
"Can you hear me? I'm in the trailer." he said
"Yeah I can hear you."
His sigh rang in my ear. "Er, I haven't been ignoring your calls I've just been busy at the park you know." he said.
I let out a sarcastic laugh, "You could have texted."
There was silence.
"I've been suspended from school."
"What, when?"
"I dunno, monday? Mr Ricci, he's been after me for awhile, he finally got me when I fell asleep in his class again."
"Again?" I sighed. "Vale, what are you gonna do now? When are you aloud to come back?"
There was silence again.
"I...I don't think I'm coming back." He mumbled.
It felt like my intestinal twisted in my gut. "Why?" I whispered.
Valentino sighed, "School isn't for me anyway, I've been there a long time and the only class I seem to pass is Miss Caruso's and with the suspension I have more time to ride at the track."
"B...but what does your family say?"
"Uncle Flavio agree, he never finished school either, still he's a successful mechanic."
"Successful?" I said with a frown.
Valentino chuckled, "You know what I mean, he has a job."
"So you wanna be a mechanic?" I asked.
"No I want to focus on my riding so I can win championships and get out of here."
My heart dropped, "Right, get out of here." I said bitterly.
I didn't want to say it but it was at the tip of my tongue. "What about us." I immediately cringed as I uttered my words.
"Alessia...I...I don't think you and me Is a good Idea..."
"What do you mean?" My voice was shaky, it was happening again, it was just like with Dario.
"I don't deserve you, I have nothing and you deserve everything. I'm just another loser from Flaxwere, no money no nothing. And I know you would like somebody smart, I hear you and Alicia talking all the time, how you want him to have this and that and I'm not him, I don't have any of those thing."
"Vale me and Alicia only joke around..." My voice was disrupted by my sniffles.
"Maybe, but face it, we aren't the people we used to be when we were kids, I guess I'm more or less the same, but you, you want different things.
"Vale I don't understand what you mean, what different things." beyond my sniffles was anger.
His sigh tickled my ear, "I dunno, I got to go, you should take someone else to Gaias party."
"I don't care about a stupid birthday party...Vale?"
He hung up.
Thursday
I don't remember much about the fight with Alicia. I remember waking up with a huge headache after all the crying I did that night. I felt like a Zombie going to school that morning. Alicia went on and on on how she didn't do anything wrong that day at the mall. Then she had pushed all of my buttons with her vicious but accurate assumptions.
"Your fighting me over a boy" she had said, which was absolutely right.
"You're desperate and need approval from a guy to feel better about yourself". Look at that, right again.
"Your all lost Alessia!". Ding ding ding and we have a winner. Alicia was right, I am all lost. Eventually I really lost it and was sent home. I could say she drove me to it but it could also have been the other way around.
Compared to Valentino, being sent home did nothing for me. My mother shouted and I listened. Then she called some relative to complain about her missfit children and I listened. Finally I was sent to my room and am now planning on staying there until death sets me free.
