What did it mean to be in love?

I'd never been in love before, I didn't know what it felt like.

Surely it was more than just butterflies and excitement. 

It couldn't be pretending they didn't have any flaws. 

I hoped it wasn't just the physical side of the relationship. 

I was only twenty three. How could I possibly know what love was?
