Road to Mania - A breakdown

Long story short, A while back I hit a wall writing and I really only have a few 'Mania matches I'm interested in writing. So therefore, unfortunately, I gotta do Mass Recaps, starting with what was planned to happen at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View.

Royal Rumble

Of course, you read about Daniel Dalton becomming WWE champion only to have his dream ripped away by some contractual BS on behalf of "Nightshade" Rico Jamison.

In the second match, Entry #19, Carley Addison (FKA Caeley Gedling) ended up eliminating 6 women: Zelina Vega, Tegan Nox, Gigi Dolin, Dani Palmer & Sol Ruca (both at once), and most importantly, the runner-up of the Royal Rumble, entrant #5 Lexi Zamora, resulting in Carley Addison winning the Royal Rumble match.

The third match of the night saw Zack Chandler defeat Jon Moxley in a Falls Count Anywhere match, with a Spear off scaffolding through a stack of 4 tables being enough to seal the victory for the up & comer.

In the fourth match, Liv Morgan defeated Dakota Kai to claim the Smackdown women's Championship belt, making that unification match coming up on Draft night a real interesting situation, presuming Dakota wanted her rematch...

In the fifth match, Damien Priest defended his Universal Title against Aaron Zamora. Near the closing stages, Isla Dawn snuck up to the apron and attempted to blast Priest with her black mist, but Priest had managed to dodge, and Aaron was hit instead, allowing the champion to hit the South of Heaven and retain his title.

The Men's Royal Rumble started with #1 Shawn Rosario and #2 Zack Chandler. Most notably in this rumble, lots of Iron-men emerged. #2 Chandler ended up lasting 55 minutes, 57 seconds before being eliminated by Ethan Bourne. #10 GUNTHER lasted 40 minutes even before it took the combined efforts of Rosario, Chandler, & Rowan Gedling to eliminate the Ringgeneral. #12 Luke Jamison also ended up lasting 51 minutes and 17 seconds, overall coming in fourth. Shawn Rosario shocked the world by lasting One hour, Five minutes, twenty-one seconds (1:05:21) yet only coming in third.

Yet, the story of the night was Entrant #4. Daniel Dalton, the man who just had his big moment ripped away from him at the top of the show... had entered the rumble. He had already wrestled Finn Balor for almost 20 minutes, and then wrestled Rico Jamison for almost 15, and was now entering EARLY. Dalton ended up scoring 4 eliminations, including the final eliminatiton of Rowan Gedling, to secure HIS spot in the Main event of Night 2 of Wrestlemania.

Draft Day

The next Saturday, exactly 7 days after the Royal Rumble, WWE held its first night of Drafting. The picks that were made are irrelevant as of right now, because LOTS of plans have changed since then...

But the matches of nights 1 and 2 remain important to the Lore.
- Night 1 -

- Bobby Lashley and Ricochet defeated Grayson Waller & Austin Theory to claim the Vacant Smackdown Tag Team Championships

- Wes Lee defeated Kyle O'Reilly (c) with the Kardiac Kick to win the Intercontinental Championship

- Pretty Deadly defeated The Street Profits, House of Black (c), and British Strong Style to become the NEW Raw Tag Team Champions! YES BOOOOY!!!

- Racheal Moon defeated Isla Dawn in a singles match, as payback for costing Moon her chance at winning the previous week's Royal Rumble match

- Shawn Rosario defeated Jake Cross (c) in a No Holds Barred match to claim the United States Championship

- Daniel Dalton defeated Edge after the Rated R superstar's third spear attempt was intercepted by Heaven's Light. (These summaries don't do the matches themselves justice, I just don't have the time or brain power to write ALL of them anymore... I gotta stop overbooking LOL)

- Night 2 -

- Crystal Zamora defeated Liv Morgan and Dakota Kai to unify the Raw & Smackdown women's championships into the WWE Women's championship. [I just love this Graphic, not even gonna lie]

- Carley Addison defeated Fallon Henley in short order after the former took out Jacy Jayne

- NXT Champion Trick Williams made a surprising appearance and defended his title against anyone from any brand. Smackdown's Noam Dar accepted, however Trick Williams managed to retain.

- A Vacant World Heavyweight championship match was held. Smackdown tag team champions Lashley & Ricochet were both involved in the match, along with JD McDonagh, Ethan Bourne, Rowan Gedling, and Aaron Zamora.

The match was probably the longest of either night, seeing how it was a true six-pack challenge, no eliminations. The bout came to a close around 40 minutes in, when carnage was everywhere: tables broken, a barricade smashed, chairs thrown everywhere, and Rowan had just put Ricochet through the announce table!

Ethan Bourne thought he had the title secured when he hit his signature "Evenflow" Unprettier on McDonagh, but Aaron came rolling in out of nowhere and planted Ethan with the Crashing Horizon flatliner! Aaron pushed Ethan out of the ring and covered JD, and the count went "1, 2, 3." Aaron Zamora stole one, the biggest one of his life! At 28 years old, Crystal's (older) twin brother could finally call himself World Champion!

Elimination Chamber

- The Chamber this time around opened with the Women. Crystal Zamora defended her title inside the chamber, outlasting Shayna Baszler, Roxanne Perez, Liv Morgan, Cora Jade, and Dakota Kai. However, after the match, Carley Addison shockingly blindsided Crystal, and as a result, she declared her decision wouldn't be to fight for the currently vacant Women's world title... Carley wanted CRYSTAL'S Championship! (turning heel in the process, if you couldn't tell)

- Match #2 saw Deonna Purrazzo score an upset victory over Racheal Moon when Rhea Ripley caused some interference that allowed Purrazzo to capitalize and hit the Cosa Nostra piledriver for the win. Some time afterwards, in the backstage area, Racheal said there would be hell to pay for messing with her, even for Rhea Bloody Ripley.

- The Men's World Heavyweight title did not change hands in the chamber, as Aaron Zamora managed to outlast everyone: LA Knight, Tyler Bate, Ethan Bourne, Sheamus, and even Cody Rhodes!

- The Vacant women's world title match was interesting to say the least. Alexa Bliss, Tegan Nox, Lexi Zamora, and Rhea Ripley. Predictably, Ripley ran through all the competition like a hot knife through butter... until that is, Racheal Moon came out of nowhere and blasted Ripley in the back of the head with a lead pipe! Rhea dropped like a sack of potatos, and in a stroke of luck, it was TEGAN who happened to benefit, as she was held in the air for the Riptide when Moon struck Ripley, meaning she fell right onto the unconscious Rhea, and the referee counted to three. Tegan Nox had won the Women's World championship... or did Rhea just manage to lose it?

- The Co-Main event took place inside the Elimination chamber. The Blackpool Combat club fought Luke Jamison, Daniel Dalton, and Zack Chandler in an Anything-goes "Club Warfare" match. Basically, your goal was to win by any means possible. The match ended when Moxley was choked out by Dalton using a gold cross necklace that Moxley had previously stolen from Dalton's step-daughter Briana.

- The main event match was LOADED. Ciampa, McIntyre, Jamison (c), Zayn, Priest (c), and Rollins... To Unify both the Universal and WWE championships, due to Priest being drafted to Raw a month prior.

The match saw lots of high spots, of course, including an attempted dive by Rollins off the cage which was met by Dreaming No More from Jamison, and that's how Rollins' night ended. Sami Zayn tried one too many Helluva kicks, as Priest intercepted and took Zayn on a little trip South of Heaven. And then there were Four. Drew got a pair of near falls off Claymore kicks, but a Willow's Bell and a Top Rope Shadebreaker did in Big Drew. Three left.

Ciampa was once again busted open by Jamison, only to have a rousing comeback where he almost hit the most cathartic Fairy Tale ending of his life... only to be turned around and slammed, South of Heaven. Ciampa managed to kick out at two, however! Priest went for another, but it was reversed into a Roll-Up that actually eliminated the Universal Champion! However, the second Ciampa stood up, BANG!!! Dreaming No More. Rico kicked Ciampa's head hard enough to cause a lil' whiplash, and the WWE champion unified the titles, to the dismay of everyone.

"THAT'S FUCKING RIGHT!" He says with a smug ass smirk, holding one belt in the air, the other on his shoulder. "I did... EXACTLY... What I said I'd do on Raw. Because let's face it... nobody in this industry is better than I am. Nobody's good enough to step to me and-"

The crowd began a slight uproar, as without any music, a dried blood-stained Daniel Dalton had started slowly walking out to the ringside area. Jamison doesn't say a word, and Dalton grabs a mic. "Are you done? Are you finally done with the fake tough guy crap? Because All I'm hearing is the single most generic bad guy B.S. Ever. You're not a tough guy, and you're not fooling anyone. But Rico, my friend, let's talk about why I'm really out here. You have something of mine." Rico mouthed "No the Fuck I don't!". "Yeah, you do. The one thing my Father never got much time to hold, the one thing I told my little girl I'd bring home... The W. W. E. World. Championship. I guess it's the Undisputed Championship now... but while the name changes, my goal remains all the same, Ricardo Jamison. And that goal..." Daniel steps between the ropes, standing almost eye-to-eye with the champion. "...Is to repay you for all the pain you caused me and my family, and to return the favor. Tenfold. So at Wrestlemania, there won't be any excuses you can make when I beat you. There won't be a Liv in your corner to cry to. There will not be a scapegoat to blame. And When you lose EVERYTHING at Wrestlemania, you might finally understand why you loved wrestling so much in the first place. And notice I didn't say 'if' I said 'when', beacuse YOU Rico Jamison, are going to be MY opponent, come WRESTLEMANIA!!!"

"Awake and Alive" blares through the arena as both men intensely stare down, not a single word more exchanged...

Fastlane

Six matches happened at WWE's Fastlane event.

- Crystal Zamora retained the WWE women's championship over her old rival "Blazing" Ashley Brayden.

- Shawn Rosario (c) defeated "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio to retain the United States Championship

- Weapons Wild match: Racheal Moon defeated Rhea Ripley with a White Wolf's Kiss (Sister Abigail) onto an opened barbed wire wrapped folding chair.

- Wes Lee (c) defeated Ethan Bourne to retain the Intercontinental Championship

- Rico Jamison (c) defeated Edge to retain the WWE Undisputed championship, of course by nefarious means.

- Aaron Zamora (c) defeated Sami Zayn to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. This was Sami's first singles loss in almost 4 months.

---

And that covers everything up until Mania, folks! Sorry I had to push this out, It just kinda was a spur of the moment Idea and I really wanted to cap off the Dalton storyline, as I'd worked hard with Ben on how to build him up. I'll probably only end up writing 2 Night 1 matches, being Shawn Rosario vs Seth "Freakin" Rollins as well as the Main Event of Crystal vs Carley for the WWE women's title, but that one will also have a LOT of build/backstory covered next chapter!

Other than that, all I planned on doing was the Night 2 Main event of Rico vs Dalton, this time done properly.

Lots of Open spots on the 'Mania card, ladies and Gents!
