EXTENDED SUMMARY:

Edison Pierce's tale was one of woe, sorrow, and unrequited love. Well, what he thought was unrequited love. For years, probably too many that were reasonable, Edison had watched the 'Losers Club' as they called themselves. Well, he watched one in particular: Richie Tozier. He was in love with him before he even knew what love was. He admired the boy's fiery attitude and smart mouth, he wished he had the confidence to be like him. He wished he had the confidence to just talk to him. One day, he's riding his bike past the local pharmacy and he sees Richie Tozier, his friends, and a boy bleeding profusely. Curious, he stops. For the first time, he and Richie Tozier have a conversation. Of course, this only made Edison's silly crush a million times worse. However, curiosity killed the cat, and Edison soon learns the situation is much worse than a cruel bully: There's a killer clown on the loose and it's already racked up a body count. Getting in over his head, Edison agrees to help (after all since Richie asked so nicely). However, the world wasn't meant for people like Edison to be happy. His failure is practically written in the stars, his fate is sealed.

NOTES:

— It sounds sad so the beginning of this story should be really angsty but if you remember The Greatest Showman, you know that even through all the twists and turns, Anne and Phillip still got their happy ending so it's only fair that Edison and Richie get their happy ending, too!

— Most of the story is dealing with internalized and external homophobia, but if you're black and you want to touch on race issues as well, go ahead!

— Edison's fear is undecided as I'm on painkillers and can't think of anything but it should be related to like confidence issues or something like that!

— The ending should be soft and fluffy because Edison's character development is gonna take him from this shy gay kid to a boy who's confident in his sexuality and not afraid of chasing what he wants!

— Face claim can't change because Prophet is underused and I'm tired of seeing the same pasty white boys paired with Richie!
