EXTENDED SUMMARY
Five years after eight year old Erica Sinclair teased her brother about the middle school dance of 1984, the Sinclair family packs their bags and moves from Hawkins, Indiana, to Derry, Maine, only a month before school lets out for the summer of 1989.

Erica, now thirteen, is stuck in Derry with only one friend in the world- her eighteen year old brother Lucas, who's too busy preparing for college in the fall to hang out.

A week before school ends, Erica meets a fellow new kid, Ben Hanscom, and they immediately click, becoming partners in crime.

and one day, when Erica and Ben are running for their life from Henry Bowers and stumble into the Barrens, Erica's cries for help drag them into a gory, terrifying mystery straight out of a horror book.

NOTES
- this was caused by me realizing if erica was like eight in season 2 of stranger things, she would be thirteen in 1989!

- erica's even more sassy now that she's older, but her relationship with her brother is a lot closer

- she's very protective of ben, they're best friends! and she would die for him tbh

- if she does date one of the losers it has to be slow burn!!

- she gets harassed for her race sometimes, but she's usually with lucas who's grown tall and intimidating and even the bowers gang wont fuck w him

- but obviously he's going to college so boy its sure a good thing her and ben find the losers

- her worst fear is probably her brother and the rest of her family dead

- she asks her brother for advice on it , and he gives her his old wrist rocket!!!!

- richie and her have sass battles and richie calls her 'scare-ica'

- she's a fucking badass

- when ben saw the balloon and headless thing at the library, she was in the bathroom so she didn't see it

- and when ben's getting cut by bowers she's being held by one of the bullies but when ben breaks free she elbows the guy holding her and they escape and run like hell

- u could have max make a cameo too, like her and lucas are going to cali for college or smthn?? just a thought
