Chapter 127
The Alchemy by Taylor Swift
What if I told you I'm back, the hospital was a drag.
"It's who?" Grayson asks from behind me.
I cower further back, forcing Grayson's body to move too. "Hey, what the hell are you doing? What's wrong?" Grayson raises his voice, tired of hearing me constantly terrified but never telling him anything.
Skylar stands in the doorway, perched with a bouquet of flowers beside the person doing all of this.
A tall brown haired boy towers over her, a small smile on his cunning deceitful face.
It had to be him. I'm certain.
I saw him looking down on me after I fell. I'm sure it was him.
"It's him!" I yell, grabbing a vase of flowers from a nearby shelf, ripping the flowers out I raise the vase in defence, ready to slam it over his head.
"Jesus!" Jameson yelps, jumping to his feet to join Grayson behind me to grab me back.
"She's a lot less scary when she's unconscious." The boy grimaces, stepping back a little but showing no signs of fear.
"Paris what is wrong with you?!" Grayson yells, grabbing the vase and planting it back on the shelf and gripping me by both of the biceps to stare me down.
His face is accusatory and furious. "He did this! It was him!" I tell him.
Instantly his demeanour changes. His whole body tenses up and his grip on me loosens. He steps for the guy, grabbing a fistful of his shirt. I watch as the color falls from the brown haired boys face, suddenly a lot more scared than he was when I threatened him.
"You hurt her?" He demands. "What the hell?" The guy yells. "Did you hurt her?!" Grayson roars. "No!" The guy raises his hands with exasperation.
Grayson glances back to me to confirm. "Once second I was leaping, the next the lights are out and I'm on the ground. I wake up and he was right there! I swear it was him!" I explain.
Grayson gruffly growls and lets go of the guy, pacing back to me with his hands in his hair.
"Theodore found you, along with Tristan and all the other guys." Grayson explains, clearly tired of my shit.
"Starting to wish I didn't." The guy huffs quietly, readjusting his shirt and jacket.
"I don't trust him." I eye the guy with furrowed brows. "How ever will I live without your trust?!" He puts a hand to his heart with mock offence.
"I don't like him either. Why are you with him Skylar? Do you know him? Are you working with him?" I demand my friend.
"Cool it with the accusing thing, next thing I know you'll be accusing me." Grayson sighs, sinking into a seat with his shirt sleeves folded up to his elbows.
"You know, it was probably just a power cut, right? Just unlucky timing." Xander suggests.
"Right." I murmur, knowing what I know but refusing to tell anyone because the person after me could be standing right in front of me.
"I'm not working with him. I met him yesterday. I had to spend the night at his dorm because I had nowhere to sleep." Skylar explains calmly, passing me the flowers with a gentle smile.
"There were no nearby hotels?" I raise a suspicious brow.
"Relax, French-Chick, I slept on the couch." Theodore winks, wrapping an arm around Skylar's shoulder and grinning cheekily.
"Would you look at that, we have another nicknamer on our hands." I glare to Jameson. "Don't tell me you don't love 'Eiffel Tower'? That's the best one I've came up with in a good few years." He points firmly.
"Eiffel Tower. That's a good one." Theodore complements. "Thanks man, only a fellow artist can truly appreciate a masterpiece." Jameson jokes.
"Okay, this has been a truly beautiful bonding experience, but I really have to head." I dismiss. "Paris! Quit trying to leave. You'll stay here until a doctor properly discharges you." Grayson insists.
"Let me go or I swear to god you'll never get that dick within a 5 mile radius of me again." I growl. "Don't threaten me with sex. It won't work." He mutters back, hoping nobody in this tiny room is hearing our conversation even though they all very much are.
"Drive me home and I'll give you head." I beg. "Only head i care about right now is your one." He tuts, taping his finger gently on the top of my head, not even remotely bothered by my offers.
"Please baby, I'm so horny." I whimper quietly, stroking a hand up his chest. "Well by all means, there's a bathroom right there. Or we could all leave you alone for a little. But you won't be leaving, that's for sure." He tuts.
"You're a little bitch, you know that." I huff. "A bitch who loves you." He offers.
I scowl at him and head for the bedside. He seems to think I'm planning on lying back down. Instead, I repetitively slam my hand against 'call for assistance' button.
"I think they get it." Nash scoffs. I keep pressing, an innocent smile on my lips as I stare Grayson in the eyes. He just sighs and runs a hand through his hair.
"You called Ms Rooney?" The doctor asks, rushing through the doorway, having thought I was dying or something.
"Am I clear to go?" I beg. "Lemme think.. no?" He narrows his eyes. "I"m leaving whether you let me or not. Just make the paperwork easier for yourself and clear me." I deadpan.
He glances to Grayson, who just sighs impatiently, shaking his head with a hand on his hip and the other clutching his temple.
"Thanks so much. See ya." I sing, singing the doctor's forms and pressing it back into his chest.
"Well you can't walk the whole way. I guess you'll have to stay." Grayson tries.
"Drive me and you can touch my boobs." I suggest. "Bribe me with sex one more time. I dare you." He growls, but nevertheless fumbles around my dance bag for my keys.
"Ave drove your car around. You're lucky!" He warns with a point.
"You're bitched for life, baby. A minute ago you were all 'you're not leaving' and now you're driving me out yourself." I giggle.
"Keep your mouth shut. I'll drive you home and thats it. Nowhere else." He insists.
"Oh I need my mouth wide open for what I plan on doing to you." I smirk.
"You run a tight ship around here man, I especially love the bedazzled box she keeps your balls in." Theodore snorts wittily.
"You keep your mouth shut too." Skylar hisses. "Yes Ma'am." He nods.
When we're out of the hospital room, Grayson drives me home in my car as promised, and once I'm past the long line of my friends waiting to greet me, and once I've locked every entrance to the house, and once I've checked every room and cupboard of the house, I finally fulfil my promises to Grayson.
"Lock the door." I murmur as we slip inside my bathroom, searching all corners just in case and then stripping off.
"Is it worth asking again what you're so paranoid about?" Grayson sighs, locking the door and placing his blazer on the door hook.
"We both know what I'd say." I shrug, shivering from the prior rain we had to walk through to get inside.
Naked as the day I was born and soaked head to toe in cold rain I chitter, waiting patiently for him to hurry up and undress so we can shower together.
"I'll buy you a new phone tomorrow, you can stay here with Avery so you aren't alone." He dictates. "I really don't want a new one." I decline.
"If you want, I can give Avery the money and she can get you one so I can stay here?" He suggests. "First of all, I don't think Ave needs your money, and second, I just don't want a phone right now." I dismiss.
"She could have all the money in the world and I'd still want to be the one to pay for you. And it isn't an option, I need to be able to call you and make sure you're okay." He decides firmly.
"Buy me a phone and I promise you right now I'll flush it down the toilet." I tell him frankly.
"You are my worst nightmare." He jokingly glares at me, a small smirk ticking the corners of his lips. "But I love you." He assures me, wrapping his bare muscles around me, pressing our cold bodies together and carrying me into the shower without effort.
The second the hot water crashes down on us I sigh in relief, lowering my head onto his strong muscled shoulder with a smile.
"Love you too."
