Sweet 16-a-Rooney
Richelle POV
Liv and Maddie were turning 16 and wanted separate birthdays so mom decided to split the living into Two Parts. I think is the hardest part about being a twin having to share birthdays. Liv had a Hollywood Themed Party and Maddie had a Rodeo themed party
I was sitting on the couch drinking hot chocolate waiting for this whole thing to blow up in everybody's face
They both stood on their sides as they covered their eyes with their hands
"My Twins can't have separate parties on their Sweet 16. So while you two were away at Maddie's basketball game I came up with a momoromise so take a look" mom told them as they uncovered their hands
"Dazzleberry" Liv said looking at her side of the room
"Awesome" Maddie said looking at her side of the room
"Hold on you haven't seen the best part turn around" mom told them as they turned around and their smiles dropped
"Two themes one party" mom cheered
"It's a Red Carpet Rodeo" Dad yelled through the microphone
"Joey" mom said
"Mom I don't wanna do it" Joey whined
"Oh come on do it" Mom told him
"Yew-haw" He said through his rope in the air as I stifled a laugh
"And Liv you wanted a Cirque-du-Soeil, red carpet gala. I give you Parker-azzi" mom said
"Liv Rooney, Liv Rooney who are you wearing" Parker asked impersonating paparazzi
"Boom Boom Boom Send" she said as she posed and Parker took pictures
"And Richelle" Mom started off but then stopped and looked at me
"What did you do" Mom asked as I lifted my mug
"I made cocoa" I said as I drunk some
"This is great mom. And I think We're halfway there. The half that doesn't look like a barn." Liv said as Maddie looked offended
"So I think we should clear out these hay bales and, uh, ooh, all the barbecuey stuff. And I just really want to, you know, class this place up, you know? I think we're gonna bring in some French Contortionists" Liv said
"Liv, why are you throwing out everything that I like? I thought this was our party" Maddie told her
"I'm not telling them They were born on separate days" mom yelled through the microphone as we gasped and turned to them
"Camptown ladies sing that song, doo-dah doo-dah." Mom and dad sang
"This karaoke thing works great. Who's next?" Mom asked
"What did you just say?" Liv asked
"We have different birthdays?" Maddie asked her
"Girls, your Mother and I have something to tell you. Go ahead." Dad told mom
"Liv and Maddie, the day you were born was truly the greatest day of my life" mom told them as Parker, Joey, and I looked offended
"Well, that feels nice" Joey said sarcastically
"But it was actually the "days" you were born. You see, Liv, you were born on the fifth at 11:56 P. M. But, Maddie honey, you were born At 12:02 on the Sixth" mom told her
"But the whole reason that five is my lucky number is because I was born on the fifth. I'm a five" Maddie said
"Apparently I'm a zero" Joey said
"Wait, so Maddie's never celebrated on her actual birthday?"
"What kind of parents are you? This is preposterous. I say again preposterous. If they can do this to her, what does that mean for everybody else? Are Joey and Richelle even Twins? Am I six? Am I 11? I could be nine!" Parker yelled
"Wait are we twins we look nothing alike" Joey said as I nodded
"Yes honey you're twins Joey you were born at 9:30 pm and Richelle was born at 10:00 pm" mom told us
"I can't believe anything you say anymore we need documents factual evidence" I said as I went upstairs
"Where are you going Richelle" Dad asked
"I'm gonna look for Joey and my birth certificates" I yelled

The next day Liv called a meeting to talk about Maddie's surprise party. Parker, Liv, Diggie, mom, dad, Stains, Willow, and Joey were here
"Okay, everyone find a seat. Maddie's off on a jog, but I bought us some time. She always jogs till the end of her play list so I added six songs." Liv today us
"Hey, Joey! I got a spot for you right here." Willow told him as she pushed Stains off the couch
"I am going to say yes because I am scared to say no." Joey told her as he sat next to her
"Okay, you are all here because you are Maddie's best friends and family and I want you to help me to throw a surprise party for her. You have to keep it a secret." Liv told Diggie, Stains, and Willow then looked at mom and dad
"I know that won't be a problem for you two." Liv told them
"Mom said Maddie doesn't even want a party this year. Also I cannot feel my ribs." Joey spoke up
"I can!" Willow said smiling
"Maddie says she doesn't want a party, but I know my sister better. This birthday shocker has knocked her for a loop and we are going to fix it." Liv told us
"That's very sweet. We'll do anything to help." Mom told her
"Of course you will. You're totally on the hook for this."
"Well, I'm in. I want Maddie's sweet" Diggie said as dad cut him off
"Careful." Dad warmed
"Right, sorry." He apologized cowering away
"Willow, Diggie, Stains, I want you to take Maddie to The Hoosegow Saturday night while the rest of us get the house ready for the party. Don't bring her home until midnight though, because that's when her actual birthday begins." Liv told them
"Oh, midnight? Isn't that awfully late for a party?" Mom asked as Liv gave her a look
"You mean like 16 years late" I asked her
"Midnight party fun" mom said as she started dancing

Joey and I saw Maddie at her locker as we walked up to her
"Hey, Mads, what are you doing?" Joey asked as we walked up to Maddie
"I am turning all my lucky fives into sixes. Turns out the first 15 years of my life I stuck fives everywhere. " she told us as she opened her locker and we saw 5s everywhere
"Everywhere" she told us
"Identity crisis I can relate. I remember the tough transition from Joseph to Joe to Joey With a brief stint as baby "J" Then ultimately back to Joey" Joey told Maddie
"Wasn't there a J-Dog in there somewhere?" I asked him
"Do not bring that up!" He told me as Maddie and I laughed and we saw a contortionist
"Okay. Maddie, Richelle, and Joey Rooney?" The contortionist asked us
"Character from my nightmares?" Maddie asked
"Delivery" he said as we took the invitations from his feet as he hopped away
"You are cordially invited to the cirque-du-soleil red carpet gala celebrating the sweet 16 of Liv Rooney" I read from the invitation
"Liv's throwing a party for herself?!" Maddie asked in disbelief
——————————————————————————
"The invitations pretzel-butt was handing out were for a fake party to throw Maddie off the scent." Joey said
"Our job was to twist the knife ever so delicately" I said
"I have a gentle touch" Joey whispered
———————————————————————————
"Wow. Liv took this whole birthday scandal a lot better than you did." I told her
"A lot better. A lot." Joey whispered to her
"Dial it down Joe" I whispered to him
"I can't believe she just dumped me to do her own thing!" Maddie yelled
"Yeah. Does that make you mad?" I asked her
"I bet I'd be mad. I'd be, like, really mad." Joey told her
"You know what? If Liv's throwing a party for herself, I'm throwing a party for myself. I'm going to The Hoosegow." She told us slamming her locker walking away as Joey and I high fived
———————————————————————————
Liv and I were sitting in the living as she called Diggie and put him on speaker
"This is jailhouse one. Over." He said
"Diggie, how's it going?" Liv asked him
"It's great. We're just about to order dessert. She doesn't suspect a thing." He told us
"Dessert?! You can't be on dessert already. It's barely 10:00! You need to keep her out of the house until midnight." Liv told him
"I mean, yeah, I'll do what I can, but I didn't expect service to be this fantastic at a restaurant like this." He told her
"Diggie, I am trying to do something nice for my sister. Do not make me regret trusting you." Liv told him and hung up
"The fate of your plan rests on someone named Diggie." I told her rubbing her back
It was midnight as we were all in the backyard as Maddie ran out the door and we turned on the lights
"Surprise!" We all yelled as Diggie, Stains, and Willow ran our the door
"We missed saying surprise. Are you kidding me?" Stains asked
"Happy sweet 16, Maddie." Liv told her walking up to her
"Wait, this is all for me? Where is your red carpet party?" Maddie asked had
"Oh. There was no party. I totally played you. Don't feel bad though, I am a day older." Liv told her as she laughed
"Ahem. Hey, remember us, the people you were screaming at the whole way past the graveyard?" Diggie asked as she turned to face them
"You guys were all in on this?" Maddie asked them as they nodded
"Liv, mini-golf? It's just like old times." Maddie said looking at the windmill
"We got so wrapped up in which kind of party we each wanted that We forgot the best part is doing it together." Liv told her as she smile
"Someone made you a cake!" Mom sang pointing to the cake
"Guys, a basketball cake? This is amazing." Maddie said
"16 layers of butter and guilt Mama's done her time. We're moving on." Mom said
"Now the Rooney girls are ready to get their A-party on, a-party on. Whoop whoop, their party on. Party on, whoop whoop" mom sang as she began dancing
"Mom, Mom. We've forgiven you. You can stop punishing us." Maddie told her as she stopped dancing
"Maddie, we even got you a number six jersey, because we figured you'd want to change your number." Dad told her holding up a New Jersey
"Actually I've decided to stick with the number five. That's the day my best friend was born." She said
"So, Liv, come over here. Help me blow out all these candles." Maddie told her
"Uh, okay, one sec. I want to get a video of this. I think I left my phone in the garage when I was grabbing decorations." Liv said as she went to the garage
"Video? Then we've gotta have the windmill going. Dad, turn it on." Parker said as Dad turned on the windmill and everyone clapped
"Guys, I love it." Maddie said smiling
"We did a good thing today, boys." Dad told them
"See what happens when you listen to Parker?" Parker told them as it started spinning faster
"That thing kicks up quite a breeze." Joey yelled as things started flying away
"Oh no, the cake!" Mom yelled as the cake splattered on all the guest
"We have to turn this thing off!" Maddie yelled
"Don't worry, birthday girl, your hero is here." Diggie told her as he walked to the windmill as I saw the plug as I unplugged it
"Hey, superhero The plug's right here." I told him swinging the cord
Liv walked out the garage and looked at the mess around her
"Whoa." Liv said as Parker grabbed a piece off of Joey's jacket
"Oh, nice work on the cake, Mom!" Parker told her as she smiled
