Richelle POV

Liv and I were in the living room doing Yoga while Maddie was dribbling her basketball

"I am calm. I am relaxed.I am a happy tree." Liv said but Maddie dribbling her basketball made it hard to concentrate

"YOU ARE MAKING IT VERY HARD TO BE A HAPPY TREE!" I yelled

"Sorry, Guys I'm just I'm losing my mind! Waiting for this letter that'll tell me if I made tryout for the junior olympics." Maddie told us

"If Maddie goes I'll be disappointed but this is her dream who am I to hold her back from what she wants to do"

"Maddie, I totally hope you do get to do your basketball audition." Liv told her as we chuckled

"Okay, well, it’s called a tryout." Maddie told her

"Well, whatever it’s called, I hope you break a leg!" Liv said as Joey walked in with a letter as Maddie snatched if out his hands

"Oh! My letter! Oh, I’m going to throw up. Okay. Wait. You open it." She said as Joey tried to grab it but she snatched it back
"DON’T TOUCH IT." She yelled as she took a deep breath

"Okay. Ready?" She said as she opened it and pulled out a pair of socks

"Socks?" She asked as she turned it to the side to read the words

"You have been pranked by Joey." She read as Joey started laughing

"Booyah!" He yelled

"Should be booyah." Maddie told him as he ram up the stairs as Liv and I laughed

I walked outside and saw Parker and Diggie playing basketball

" Boom! That is 14 in a row. Where's your defense, little man?" Diggie asked him

"It is three feet below your shoulders, that's where." Parker told him

"You just beat a 5th grader you much be so proud" I said sarcastically

"How is this even fun for you? I'm done here." Parker said walking away

"Oh, come on. One more? I'm just trying to keep my mind off Maddie and the junior Olympics. I really don't want her to leave. Have you heard anything?" He asked us

" I keep my nose out of such affairs. Come on. One more game? Why don't you just get Richie to play with you?" He asked as Diggie looked at me

"Drop dead" I told him

"Why not ask Joey He's not leaving for his pottery class for a little while." Parker said

"Wait a minute Pottery class? He told me he was meeting with his zombie appreciation society." Diggie said

"Wait, he's lying to us?" Parker asked

"Why would you lie about doing either of those things?" I asked

"Unless you're doing something even more pathetic" Parker said

"What do you think he's up to?" Diggie asked

"I don't know. Just when you think you have a munch all figured out, he throws you a curveball." Parker said

"Maybe he has a secret girlfriend." Diggie asked as we all started laughing

"Okay, look we need to figure out what Joey's hiding. Last time he had a secret, I woke up with 64 white mice in my bed." Parker said

"Wait, so are you saying this is an affair you would stick your nose in?" Diggie asked

"Ah, Diggie My nose goes where it's needed." Parker said as I nodded

The next night Parker and I were waiting on Diggie when he walked up to us in a bush/shrub camouflage outfit
 
"Dude, what are you wearing?" Parker asked him

"We are not following Joey into the jungle." I told  him

"You don't know that." He told us

"So Maddie might move away and now you're dressed like a shrub." I asked

"I got big problems, kid." He said

"Leave them at the door. We have work to do. I installed a GPS tracking app on Joey's cell phone Would you believe his password was "1234"? Parker said

"What a munch." I said as Parker and I laughed

"Total munch. Hey, can you teach me how to change the password on my phone?" He asked us as we gave him a look

We followed Joey to the school. Why is he at school so late and are the doors always unlocked after hours

"My GPS app just said Joey entered the school." Parker told us

"We just saw Joey enter the school." I said

"I know. This thing's good, huh?" Parker asked as we walked in the building

"Okay, I just don't get it. Who would mysteriously sneak out at night just to come back to school?" Diggie asked

" A teenage superhero who uses Ridgewood high as his bat cave. I knew his dorkiness was just too dorky to be anything but a secret identity." Parker said

"Dude, I can't believe I have to say this out loud, but Joey is not a superhero." Diggie told him

"Now I'm embarrassed I brought it up." Parker said

"Someone's coming. Hide! Hide!" I said as Diggie hide us by a jungle poster

The janitor passed as we walked away from as Diggie pointed to the poster

"Boom! Jungle. You're welcome." He said as I rolled my eyes

"Good job You want a cookie" I asked sarcastically

We walked into the gym and saw Joey along with some other guys drumming on buckets. They were actually really good and Joey's not good at anything 

We clapped for them as Joey looked our direction and eyes widened

"What are you three doing here?" Joey asked

"We're superheroes and this is our bat cave?" Parker said as Diggie and I put our heads down as Joey walked up to us

"All righty. You figured out my secret. I'm in a drum circle. We're called the bucketstreet boys. Go ahead. Make fun." Joey told us

"Joey, that was awesome. And you know I die a little inside every time I compliment you." I said

"I was really impressed too, Joe." Diggie said

"Yeah, no one's taking you seriously right now, Diggie. Stand down, soldier. Stand down." Joey said saluting as I chuckled

"So what's with the sneaking around?" Parker asked

"Well, you know, some of my guys are a little shy." Joey said as they were all huddled in a corner

"A lot shy. So we've been rehearsing in private. But we're going public tomorrow between fifth and sixth period."

"Whoa that's hallway rush hour." I said

"That's the point. We're gonna stop traffic with our insta-jam and pick up some insta-hallway cred." Joey said

"That's cool. I mean, you just became slightly less munchy." Parker said

"I just don't get why you keep the one thing you do well a secret." I told him

"One thing. Clearly you have never seen me give medicine to a cat." He said

Diggie and I were standing in the hallway it was almost time for Hallway Rush Hour

"Am I too late for the insta-jam? I got a bathroom hall pass from my teacher, but I didn't tell her what bathroom." Parker said as I fist bumped him

" Guys, you made it. By the time sixth period starts, you'll be able to say, "Joey Rooney I knew him when." Joey told us as the bell rang and people began walking out their classes

"Attention, Ridgewood! Get ready to get rhythm!" Joey yelled as the guys began getting shy

"Really? Seriously, now is not the time to be shy."

"Oh, man, this is terrible. We have to do something." Diggie said

"You're right. I have an immobilizing dart gun in my pocket. We can say he was dehydrated." Parker said as I looked at him strangely

"How about something that won't get us arrested" I suggested

"I think I have a better idea." Diggie said as he began playing the buckets with Joey as Parker and I walked to the guys

"Now, are you guys drummers? Or are you bummers?" I yelled at them

"Well, the joke is on you. Because Joey's out there with the captain of the basketball team. And you guys are just standing here, getting lectured by a fifth grader and a girl" Parker said as they all began going to their buckets and playing along with Joey and Diggie

They finished as we all clapped for them and cheered
