It was Christmas Time I love Christmas. I love baking cookies and the decorating Dad, Joey, and I were all decorating the tree

"Joey it's gold ball, red ball, gold ball" I told him holding up the ornaments

"Two of the same color should never touch am I thats taking this seriously" I asked

"Richelle is a little OCD obsessed with Christmas details" Joey said as I came into the frame

"Joey why are there more red balls than gold" I asked holding the ornaments

Joey and I continued decorating as Mom walked in with a snow globe

"Hey homey check out my latest innovation in tree decorating. I built a base that turns so we can decorate it easier" dad said as mom smiled

"I call it the Tree-Zy Susan" dad said as Joey and I smiled

"Yep after just three weeks in the wood shop dad has shaved five minutes off of our decorating time" I told her as Parker walked in

"I finished my Christmas list mommy" Parker told her smiling

"I only want one thing mom Peace on Earth, Good Will toward men" Parker told her innocently

"Sorry that's two things" Parker said

"Well they're a little tough to wrap under the tree what else you got" mom asked him

"Well I didn't think I needed a backup, but I guess I could settle for The Screaming Dragon Remote Pilot Helicopter with a built in 13-megapixel camera" Parker said showing my the magazine

"Well they're kind of expensive but I think we can get you that helicopter" Mom told him as he hugged her

"Seriously a helicopter he's just gonna Break it in the first 15 minutes you may as well flush your money down the toilet oh wait you can't his remote control submarine already clogged it"Joey told mom

"Mm I didn't think about that" mom told

"Operation toilet dive was a search and rescue mission for the action figure I flushed the day before. Never leave a man behind" Parker told her

"You're not helping your case bud" I told him as I started hanging our stockings

"I hate to say it but I think Joey's right. You're too young for such a sophisticated toy" mom told him

"Dad come on Joey's ruining Christmas. Do something" Parker yelled

"I'm a little tied up right now buddy" Dad said as we turned to see him tied to the tree

"Aren't you wrapped up in the Christmas spirit" I said laughing as no one else did

"Oh come on that was funny" I said as they still didn't laugh

"Tough room" I said as I walked out the living room into the kitchen

The next day Maddie and I were watching dad do a interview with Chanel 4. Dad was the head chair of the Steven's Point Tree Lightning Committee and Maddie and I were the co chairs I was super excited because it was our first year being in charge of the Tree Lighting

"This is Chanel for meteorologists Johnny Nimbus coming at you live from the sight of the holiday spectacular and I'm along side Pete Rooney the chairman of the Steven's Point Tree Lightning Committee Now Pete I see a tree not a lot of lights don't leave us in the dark" Johnny said as he laughed

"But seriously what do you got planned" Johnny asked as dad turned to the camera and froze

"Are we on the air like now now? Hi" dad said awkwardly

"We are live with over 50,000 viewers although I think that number drops for every second you stand there like a frozen snow man" Johnny said as Maddie and I walked up to them

"Excuse me Johnny Hi I'm Maddie Rooney and this is my sister Richelle Rooney committee co chairs and I think we can shed some light on that" Maddie said as we laughed

"So we envision a tree completely lit by candles and we call it "Christmas Unplugged" I told him smiling

"Umm "Christmas Unplugged" well last year the Griswold Family Lit their tree with lasers and they had a stealth dancer fly over and drop tinsel but hey I guess not everyone has to try" Johnny said as our smiles dropped

"Uh wait you didn't let me finish we were going to do the thing I just said" I said as I nodded towards Maddie

"But then I said we changed our minds and we came up with something bigger and better and more awesomer" Maddie told him

"alright that's what Steven's Point wants to hear come on give me the deets what do you have planned" he asked turning to dad as he remained frozen

"Merry Christmas" dad said stiffly

"Well Johnny I think we're trying to keep our master plan kind of under wraps right now" I Told him

"but we can promise you that the Rooney Tree is going to be the biggest and the best that Stevens Point has ever seen. Bam What!" Maddie yelled

"Alright you heard it from Maddie and Richelle Rooney Boom, Zap! So don't forget to come on down tomorrow night and see this amazing tree in the snow that's right Rebel meteorologist Johnny Nimbus is ignoring the Mega Doppler Radar and every other station in town to guarantee you a white Christmas. Nimbus out" he said as he put down his microphone

"Great job girls" he told us shaking our hands

"Thanks" we told him as he turned to dad and groaned as he and the cameraman walked away

"What did we just do we just promised that we could top The Griswold's Tinsel Flyby why didn't we just promise that" Maddie yelled

"Next time just let me do the talking" Dad told us as we groaned

The next day it was Christmas Eve and the night of the Christmas Tres lighting. Dad and I were hanging lights when Maddie came over to us with a crate

"Status update Dad, Richie" Maddie asked us

"We've just strung seven miles of tree lights" I told her

"Hardwired Her into the main power grid and duct tapped 19 power strips together" Dad told her as we walked over to her and high fived

"We are gonna blow the Griswold's away" she told us as we cheered

"Hey check out the awesome tree topper I found you might need these" she told us hanging us some sunglasses as we put them on and she opened the box

"Woah" dad and I said looking at the bright lights

"Ever superhero in the world will report to Steven's Point This Christmas Eve" Maddie told us

"Go Rooney's" dad said as we tried to fist bump but we missed each other's fist as we tried again but got it

It was finally time for The Annual Tree Lighting Holiday Spectacular. Liv was supposed to be preforming with a little girl named Jenny

"Good Evening Steven's Point! And welcome to Chanel Four tree lighting holiday spectacular. Brought to you by Greenstein's Bagels Your Schumer for Christmas Cheer. Mmm Delicious. Hey everybody I'm Johnny Nimbus. The old weatherman guaranteeing you a white Christmas. That's right no other Chanel's predicting Snow. Why you gotta hate Chanel eight. Cue my snow" he said as snow didn't fall

"Come on" he said as it still didn't come

"Here it comes any minute now" he told us as we just sat there

"alright its coming folks don't worry about it but hey right now I want to give it up for hometown sweetheart Liv Rooney and newcomer Jenny Keene" Johnny said as he walked off the stage as we clapped

Up on the housetop reindeer pause
Out jumps good ol' Santa Claus
Down through the chimney with lots of toys Liv sang popping out of a box

All for the little ones' Christmas joys Jenny sang popping out of another box with the same outfit as Liv

Up on the housetop, click, click, click Jenny sang and hit Liv with a box of toys as we gasped

Down through the chimney with good Saint Nick Liv sang pushing her to the side

Ho ho ho, who wouldn't go Liv sang walking around stage

Ho ho ho, who wouldn't go Jenny sang as she pulled Liv aside with a candy cane

Up on the housetop, click, click, clickLiv sang as she pushed Jenny down the chimney

Down through the chimney with good Saint Nick Liv sang as Jenny popped up from the chimney smiling

Mom, Maddie, and I were waiting backstage for Liv as we clapped as she walked over to us

"I didn't know you and Jenny worked it that comedy routine but it was hysterical" mom said

"No that wasn't planned she's trying to destroy me" Liv told us

"Come on Liv. That sweet little girl was not trying to destroy you" Maddie told her

"Did you not just see the candy cane beat down? She was doing absolutely everything she could to make me look bad" Liv told her

"Give her a break do you remember what you and I were like at her age" I asked her

"I was not a monster like that Richelle was she still kind of is" Liv told us

"I have to work on wardrobe" mom says walking away

"And we go to work on the tree" Maddie says as we walked away

Dad, Maddie, and I were working on the tree as we were watching the show waiting for our cue

"''Twas The Night Before Christmas! And all through the park there was a bunch of people saying "Hey Johnny what that tree still dark." Alight folks well before our big show stopping solo, Liv Rooney has the honor of lighting the tree let's here it for her" Johnny said as we clapped as Liv walked out in a white dress

"Thank you Johnny. Lighting this tree is a great honor but it is one I would like to pass on to the young and very talented Jenny Keene. This is your moment" Liv said as Jenny hugged her

"Merry Christmas Steven's Point" Jenny said smiling and pressed the button as the tree lit up as dad Maddie and I high fived

Next thing before I knew it the extension cord started smoking and sparking

"Dad is it supposed to be sparking like that" I asked as it exploded and the power went out

"Well it looks like little Jenny Keene ruined Christmas. Christmas Tree down Christmas Tree down" Johnny yelled

"Liv Rooney, you set me up! You ruined my big moment. I hate this town and everyone in it" Jenny yelled storming off the stage

"And that ladies and gentlemen was little Jenny Keene's impression of Ebenezer Scrooge. Yay Jenny Oh what a talented little actress am I right. So that's probably it for the show Merry Christmas" Liv said as she ran off the stage

"Well that's it for Christmas" Maddie said

"How about we still do Christmas Unplugged" I asked

"Yeah let's go get the candles from the car" dad said as we went go get the candles

Maddie, Dad, and I walked up to them with a box of candles

"Don't give up yet Maddie, Dad, and I found a way to save Christmas" I told them smiling

"Get ready for Christmas Unplugged" Dad said

"And Liv gets to Sing Let It Snow" Mom said smiling as she turned to her

"That is the only song you will be sing right" mom asked

We went pass out candles to everyone as we were waiting for Liv to sing

Dad, Maddie, and I were all holding Candles watching Liv sing Let It Snow as Parker and Joey joined us

Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow Liv swing as mom popped out with her flute as she began playing as we all laughed at her

"She's so embarrassing" I said as we all smiled at her laughing

Oh, it doesn't show signs of stopping
And I've brought me some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low

"Even though it didn't snow its kind of the perfect Christmas Eve" I said smiling

"Yeah except I already broke my helicopter" Parker told Joey

"Well at least you have a backup" Joey told him

"Nope I broke that one too" Parker told him as we chuckled and continued watching

It was Christmas morning Parker, Dad, and I were all eating breakfast

Joey walked down the stairs and looked out the window

"Parker, Dad, Richie come quick before it stops" Joey yelled at us as we all ran up to the window

"What is it son" Dad asked

"Is it snow on Christmas" Parker and I asked

"Better" he told us as we looked out the window and saw mom doing some weird flag dance as we all laughed

"I got her those for Christmas" dad told us

"Thank you father" Joey said laughing as I pulled out my phone and recorded her as we continued laughing
