Joey was doing stairs in the kitchen doing his homework as I ran down the stairs

"Joey the whole entire school is buzzing about you and your brain olympics team" I told him smiling as he stood up

"They are" he asked me excitedly

"No" I told him shaking my head as his smile dropped

"I heard you practicing your victory speech In the bathroom" I told him as I cleared my throat

"Dear fellow brain Olympians a long time ago in a galaxy far" I recited as he cut me off

"We get it we get it" he told me

"So do you have a third team member yet" I asked him

"No not yet but we don't have to turn in the roster until tomorrow" he told me

"Well I have the perfect teammate for you me" I told him pointing at myself as he laughed as I looked confused

"You" he asked me as I nodded

"Yeah it's the perfect opportunity for me I'm good at science and math and I'm a straight A student" I told him

"Let me get this straight you want to go from Chic to Geek and pull a reverse ugly duckling"he asked me as I nodded

"Richie not even a real duck would do that" he told me

"Well I just want to prove to people that I'm just as smart as them and I can nerd out" I told him

"I said geek not nerd the fact that you don't know the difference mean you are neither" he told me sitting down

"Sorry Richie the dream team is for geeks only consider my rejection a complainant" he told me clicking his tongue

The next day at school I had a plan to scare off all of Joey and Artie's potential team members I wanted that spot

It was first period as I saw Kevin in the hallway and walked up to him

"I asked my twin brother Joey if he prefers Star Wars or Star Trek and he said what's the difference" he said as Kevin scoffed as I nodded

It was third period as I walked up to Henry in the hall way

"Do you know Artie doesn't believe in time travel he was like Doctor Who" I told him

It was sixth period as I saw Nelson by his locker and walked up to him

"Okay you didn't hear this from me but I saw Joey and Artie in the gym lifting weights" I Told him as he looked surprised as I nodded

It was in between 7th and 8th period as I saw Artie and Joey looking for a third team member as I walked up to them

"Oh hey how's the dream team coming" I asked them

"It's not, we got no one, and time is running out" Artie yelled at me then looked at me

"Oh where's my manners hey girl Joey man I can't believe your twin sister is a fox" Artie said as I stood there uncomfortably and I cleared my throat

"Well my offer to be the third brain still stands" I told him as he laughed and shook his head

"Here I go unavailable brain walking away" I said as I turned around and began walking as I purposely dropped my report card as I picked it up

"Oh no I dropped my report card oh well look at this straight A across the board. Physics A, Geometry A, Geography A Plus" I said when Artie

"Richelle wait Joey I am not missing out on the brain Olympics we need that third member" Artie said as I stopped walking

"We can't win with her I'd rather just sign up whoever walks by next" Joey whispered

"I can literally hear you" I told him when Willow walked up to him

"Hi Joey did you get my invitation to be sketched by my art class I promise this time it's a real thing" Willow told him as I looked confused

"Richelle you're in" He told me as I smiled and jumped up and down

"Just sign here" he told me as I grabbed the clipboard and sighed my name

"Excuse me Willow I need to get this down to the science department" Joey told her as Artie took the clipboard

" I can get this to the office faster than you" Artie said as he wheeled away on the heels of his shoe

"Great let's get to Art Class" Willow said dragging Joey away

It was Saturday Morning the day of the Brain Olympics as we were in the gym as Johnny Nimbus was hosting why was he here who knows maybe he didn't have anything better to do

"Hello folks This is Channel 4 meteorologist Johnny Nimbus welcoming you to the Ridgewood High Gymnasium for the Brain Olympics" Johnny said as we all clapped

"Okay Guys Huddle Up that is what sport coaches say right" Joey asked as I nodded

"I don't know I have no idea" Artie told him

"Okay so it's about to get pretty crazy in here so let's establish the proper chain on command for all Brain Olympic Decisions it goes" He told us

"Joey" he said putting his hand up high "Artie" he said putting Artie under him "Other" he said putting me way to the floor

"Wait why am I other Joey stop pushing me to the sidelines I'm here because I'm just as smart as you and it doesn't feel very good that my own twin brother is doubting my abilities" I told him

"We both know exactly why you're here Richelle I'm picking up the mad vibe your throwing my way" he told me as I gave him a look and crossed my arms

"But for the sake of the Brain Olympics we need to put that on pause" he told me

He snapped his fingers crossing his hands "Pause" he said as he snapped his fingers uncrossing his hands

"Unpause your hair is bouncing and behaving" he told me then snapped again "Repause" he said as I snapped my fingers crossing my hands

"Forever pause" I told him as I snapped again "Wait thanks for the hair props I been using this new shampoo" I told him then snapped my fingers again "Repause" I told him

"And the envelope please I always wanted to say that although I thought it would be at the Academy Awards but we have plenty of razzle dazzle right here" he said and opened the envelop

"Alright This year Brain Olympics challenge is build a machine that can paint a portrait only using materials gathered from this table" he said as I smiled

"Paint a portrait I love painting" I told Artie and Joey smiling

"I did not get into the Brain Olympics to do art" Joey yelled

"This is an outrage" Artie said

"I mean boo this is an outrage" I yelled agreeing with them

"The best picture wins just a reminder don't go painting old Johnny Nimbus's mug I sold my exclusive rights to my image to a Chinese noodle company Ni Hao about that" Johnny said laughing

We were all standing waiting for the timer to start to get the materials off the table

"These uniforms are pretty shot huh" Artie asked me as I scoffed

"I feel like I'm a mix between Barney and a nascar driver" I said

"Guys let's focus we have to beat the other team to grab so we need to be quick" Joey told us

"That means keep your eyes off all this red hot yippy diddy do" Artie said as I stood there uncomfortably

"So exciting and here we go in three two one go get them geeks" Johnny yelled as we all ran to the table and started grabbing stuff

"I got P.V.C Pipes" Artie yelled putting them on the table as I grabbed pipes

"Richelle what are you doing put that down only grab things that are useful" Joey yelled at me

"This is useful" I told him as he snatched it from my hands

"Not for the machine I have planned in my head" he yelled at me

"What about the machine I have planned in my head" I yelled at him

"Other doesn't plan machines come on Richelle you are just not smart enough for this" he told me as I began to get angry

"I'm just as smart as you maybe even smarter and Whats worse is my own twin doesn't believe in me" I yelled as he went to the table

"Wood screws I got wood screws" Artie yelled

"Fine If I'm not smart enough for you then maybe I'll just build my own machine" I yelled

"Great we'll do the same good luck Einstein" he told me as I I began grabbing materials and put them on the table

I grabbed some wood planks when the buzzer went off

"And time is up of you didn't grab it you can't use it alright brainiacs you have two hours to build a machine that will paint a portrait and I got two hours to know the science teacher in the pantsuit how you doing" he said as I went over to the table

I started building my machine as time started going down

After a while Johnny Nimbus came walking around looking at the competition as I didn't pay any mind i just kept building

"And with seven minutes left in the competition it looks like Milwaukee Tech Has Already finished look at that if I squint and tilt my head I can almost see a face" Johnny said as he walked away

"And right next door looks like Sheboygan High has finished as well oh wow a smiley face I don't know about you but that puts a smile on my face boyo Sheboygan" he yelled

"Sweet mother of Gandalf this machine is beautiful" Artie said as I stood up

"It's a catapult designed to help me launch a paint filled balloons at the canvas using a preordered 8x8 grid" I told them smiling

"You really has a machine in your head" Joey asked me as I nodded

"What's all this stuff over here" Artie asked as I turned around

"Flair someone was doubting me so I decided to add some bells and whistles" I told him

"This is awesome" Artie told me as I smiled then snapped

"And I want to spend the rest of my life with you" he told me as I smiled

"Thank you but no" I told him snapping my fingers

"I just really can't figure out how to trigger last stage" I said as Joey gasped

"We could use our device as a trigger of let's team up again" Joey asked me

"I don't know Joey are you smart enough" I asked him

"Woah smartie burn" Artie said as we fist bumped

"Yeah I had that one coming Richie come on you are more than smart enough let's win this thing together" he asked me as I gave in

"Fine" I told him as he cheered and we started combing our machines

"Richelle Rooney finally has geeks begging to lead them to the Brain Olympics Championship Role Reversal Burn" I said then heard myself

"I've been spending way to much time with these nerds" I said shuddering

"Well we seen every portrait but one and Sheboygan is clearly the front runner with only 16 seconds left to pain their canvas will Ridgewood High make it in time" Johnny said

"Richie it is now or never do it" Joey told me as I put the ball down on the pipe as I rolled into a cup and fell down a tube and hit the mouse trap pushing the bristle brush back hitting a larger ball making it roll down a tube and it hit the shovel making it go down and hit the jumper cables making it spark when the bowling ball hit the balloons full of pain and splattered the canvas as we cheered

"Holy cow Ridgewood High build a fantastic flingy thingy that made kind of a gross mess" Johnny said as the clock went to one and the access paint fell off revealing a portrait of Paulie the Porcupine

"Wait that gross mess is Paulie The Porcupine  that portrait is porcu perfect" Johnny yelled as I went over to Joey and Artie and we hugged fived as the judges held up Ridgewood High signs

"And the judges have spoken let's all give a round of applause to this year Brain Olympics Champions Ridgewood High" Johnny said as everyone cheered as I ran and hugged Joey as he picked me up spinning me around then I hugged Artie who wouldn't let go as I finally pushed him off me

We changed it tracksuits as we stood on a podium waiting for our medals as the judges put them around our necks

"Feels good to win doesn't it" i asked them smiling

"We are rocking these Velour Track Suits" Artie said as I smiled

"Richie I really need to apologize I completely underestimated you and you're right I'm your twin brother I should believe in you More than anyone else and I'm sorry you are officially a geek" he told me as I smiled and hugged him

"Pretzel" he asked once we separated as I laughed 

"Don't mind if I do" I told him as he broke the pretzel in half and gave me a half as we both took a bite at the same time as we laughed

Artie pushed Joey off the podium and walked closer to me and snapped

"Unpause so girl now that the Brain Olympics are over its time to turn off our brains and turn on our hearts" he said putting a hand over hit heart as I cleared my throat and snapped my fingers

"Repause Artichoke you and me are as likely to happen as cold fusion" I told him walking away
