Nerina's POV

After two weeks of being Skye's girlfriend the buzz hadn't gone.

He still made my heart beat so fast and was so romantic. One time when I went to sit down in my English lesson there was a pink daisy waiting for me and I laughed slipping it into my bag, no one could be happier than me.

'Did you get my flower?' asked Skye after school in the common room.

'Yeah. It was so pretty' I said.

'So are you' he replied, grinning and I leant forward and kissed him.

'There's a party tomorrow night' announced Natalie on Friday evening when she came in late, again.

'Another one?' I said.

'One thing about this place, there's about a hundred parties a year' said Jasmine as she texted Jason.

'Who's party?' I asked.

'No ones, it's just a party' she said.

'Where?' I asked.

She shrugged 'but Silkie told me about it. I think it's going to be everywhere.'

'Sounds romantic' yawned Blake as she leafed through a book while lying upside down with her legs in the air off her bed.

'Is this one of these parties Silkie will kill me if I go to?' I asked.

'She's quite welcome to try' said Natalie, smiling in that almost joking way.

'Is Skye going?' I asked.

'Wow, is it physically impossible for you to do anything without Skye?' she asked, irritably 'of course Skye's going. Everyone's going. It's going to be awesome.'

'So let me get this straight' said Jasmine 'there's a party everywhere and everyone's going.' She looked up from her phone with an eyebrow raised.

'Yeah, pretty much' she sat down on her bed 'and I've decided to hook up with a guy, because none of the it girls have a boyfriend so I could be the first.'

'Good reason to get a boyfriend' said Jasmine.

'I know' she said.

Blake laughed, the fell over in an awkward position.

'Smooth' said Natalie 'what are you laughing about?'

'You.' She looked up, tossing a stray curl to one side 'you're going to get drunk and tell Kevin you love him aren't you.'

'No I'm not' she said quickly 'I'm over Kevin.

'In what parallel universe are you over Kevin?'

'The new Natalie is over Kevin' she crossed her arms 'besides in what parallel universe are you over Skye?'

My stomach fell. Blake was over Skye. Blake had to be over Skye, why would he stay with me when he could have her?

'It's not parallel universe, sweetie' grinned Blake.

Natalie stared at her for a moment 'you guys are becoming such losers you know.'

'Have you looked in the mirror recently?' asked Jasmine.

'Yeah.'

'And did Natalie look back at you? Or was it just Silkie?' she smiled.

'Shut up Jasmine' Natalie disappeared into the bathroom and the sound of a shower starting up.

'Between us, I think Natalie's changing' said Jasmine.

'As if that's not the understatement of the centaury' yawned Blake.

Natalie's POV

What the hell did Blake know?

It was none of her business if I was over Kevin or not. And I was over Kevin. Kevin was nothing, he didn't matter. The new Natalie didn't need him. She didn't need anyone, I grinned into the mirror, imagining my hair if it was long and sexy like Silkie's. Then I could have any guy.

The next day I hired a taxi to take me to the city and I got some extensions done in the hair salon. And blue and pink streaks. Who said I couldn't be wild? I could be wild, I could be wilder than Blake. I could be a colder bitch than Silkie, then everyone would worship me. And this place would be mine.

'Nat, what have you done to your hair?' asked Jasmine when I got back at seven.

'What? It looks good' I replied.

'Yeah. But you don't look like Natalie.'

'That's the point' I replied, then went and got changed in the bathroom. A black boob tube and pink skirt that looked amazing, I looked really good. Really sexy. Kevin would think I was over him, know I was over him if I hooked up with half the guys at the party. I slid on a black hair band/

'Oh my God' said Jasmine when I came out, her eyes widening.

'How do I look?' I asked.

'Like Silkie' she said 'you look exactly like Silkie?'

'Since when has that been a bad thing?' I demanded.

'Since she's a been a huge bitch' said Nerina.

I looked down at her annoyingly innocent face 'you can talk. You might act all innocent and naive and everything, but I know underneath you're a complete bitch, an even bigger Cassidy than she is.'

Nerina's eyebrows knitted together in surprise 'what?'

'She's joking' said Jasmine.

'No I'm not' I said 'I'm completely truthful or the first fucking time since I came back to this place. And since I'm being truthful. Jasmine... you're so boring seriously Jason has turned you into an old women overnight and you make me tired just being around you. You suck the life out of everything. I can't believe we were ever best friends.'

'Nat-'she said weakly.

'I'm sorry to tell you the truth' I said, then turned to Blake. 'And as for you Blake...'

She shook her head 'you don't have anything on me' she said.

'Really?' I raised an eyebrow 'you know, you pretend to be an individual and that you don't care what people think of you. But the truth is you're terrified. People's opinions absolutely rule your life. And the only reason guys get obsessed with you is because you flirt with everyone.'

'That's a massive lie' exploded Blake, actually angry for the first time since I'd known her.

'Do you not what is a massive lie?' I asked.

'That you're a nice person and good friend?' she suggested.

'No' I replied 'what is a massive lie is you saying you're over Skye. You'd fucking do anything for him, we're not blind. Everyone knows. And Skye's the only guy you can't get, as terrified as Nerina is of you guys hooking up.'

I turned to look at Nerina 'he's a piece of dirt you know that. And he's just trying to sleep with you anyway.' I smiled and walked to the door. 'Laters losers' I said, blowing them a kiss and slamming the door on their stupid, startled faces.
