Currently, everyone in the manor was gathered into the dining hall as Akira had demanded they all show up. Roswaal, Beatrice, Subaru, and the maids had all showed up as they were all waiting for one person. The moment the door to the dining hall opened up, Emilia was seen walking through as Puck was floating right beside her.

"U-um.......good morning every-"

"Sit."

"Yes sir!"

Emilia immediately sat down next to Subaru as everyone was now present. When Akira looked around, he saw Subaru and Ram each had their own blanket to try and keep themselves warm. Rem was wearing what seemed to be a winter version of her usual maid outfit, while Roswaal pretty much looked the same but just had a warm coat over him. Though it seemed that Emilia, Beatrice, and himself were just fine. Though this was for different reasons. Soon, Akira began to explain to Subaru what was behind this cold.

"So let me get this straight, Kira Kira. Puck is essentially expelling what's in his belly before it explodes?"

"Yes, he's taking a magic shit, if that better explains it for you."

"CHOOSE YOUR WORDS BETTER, I SUPPOSE!"

Ignoring Beatrice's outburst, Akira asked Puck how often this would happen. Apparently this would happen twice a year. Puck used to be able to do this more freely back when Emilia and him were living in a forest, but had to tone it down when he came here. However, Subaru was still confused.

"I understand if this is something you need to do, but why did the effect increase so drastically in just three days?"

"At first, I just did a little at a time. Though it turns out I had more mana stored than usual. Plus no one said anything so I thought, 'Maybe I can get a way with just a little more. Yeah I definitely can, they're so simple-minded'. Which brings us here.....even though Akira apparently noticed on day one."

"You did a terrible job, Puck. By the way, Kira Kira, how come it's only cold here?"

"I thought it was strange how drastically the weather changed and no word of it was spread through the kingdom. Turns out the Library Loli formed a barrier around Roswaal's Manor in order to keep the cold in."

The moment he said this, both Akira and Subaru turned their heads towards Beatrice. All they were met with was the sight of the girl blowing her nose as the cold was starting to get to her as well. Soon Emilia decided to break her own silence as she was being quiet throughout the whole exchange.

"Puck and I are really sorry for keeping this from you all. Though his Magic Release period should be over soon. Isn't that's right, Puck?"

"Mhm. If we keep at it with this pace, it'll be over in two days."

"Wait.......I HAVE AN IDEA! WE DON'T HAVE TO STAY IN THE MANOR DURING ALL THIS!Beako is containing the cold with her barrier, so if we just stay outside while this is going on, then we can-"

~A few minutes later~

"Ahahahaha! You were so confident too!"

Akira was seen laughing extremely hard as Subaru looked deflated. The brown haired boy was so shocked by the rain that he fell down on both knees and had tears pouring down from his eyes. With a smile, Subaru lifts his head up high.

"It's okay, Natsuki Subaru, the rain will hide your tears."

"Pffft! We're still inside, Subaru."

"LET ME HAVE THIS, KIRA KIRA!"

"I mean, I could always say 'Screw you guys' and walk to Arlam Village by myself since I'm confident I can reflect the rain from falling on me. Hell, i'm using my own ability to increase my body heat so i'm pretty much set so far."

While Akira was confident he might be able to do something on a larger scale in terms of manipulating heat, two things were stopping him from doing so. The first being that he didn't want to show off just how much he could do. If he solved this problem, they might just resort to tasking him to deal with the cold and he didn't want that. The second and most important reason was simple:he thought Subaru's way of solving this would be way more fun and laughable.

"Come on Subaru, don't beat yourself up. I'm sure you'll come up with another good idea."

"Kira Kira......you actually have faith in me?! Thank you!!!!"

"Sure, let's go with that."

"He's definitely messing with him."

As the rest of the manor's inhabitants thought this, Subaru had another idea as he lead everyone to the bath area. His plan was to use all the magic stones of fire in the mansion to boil the water in the big bath. That way they could enjoy a hot spring experience for the next two days. As they were heading up there, Akira stood beside Ram as he whispered to the maid.

"This is gonna fail, isn't it?"

"Without a doubt. This is Barasu we are talking about."

"......wanna laugh if it turns out to be ridiculous?"

"Gladly."

~Bath Area~
"Hahaha!!!! Ram, are you seeing this?! Pffft!"

"Heh....I do, Akira-san. But this isn't....a laughing matter.....pffft."

Everyone had varying reactions to what they witnessed. While Roswaal and Emilia kept their normal expressions, Rem was smiling brightly as Akira and Ram had an arm around the other's shoulder as they laughed wholeheartedly.  As Subaru could be seen in pure shock, Beatrice was seen standing beside him as she looked at the boy in annoyance. The cause behind these reactions was not just the bath being frozen solid, but the object inside it that was frozen. Coming out of his shock, Subaru looked towards Rem.

"Rem, is this......mayonnaise?"

"Yes! I've been making it for you since you love mayonnaise. Before, when you dove into the smaller bath full of it, you were quite angry that there wasn't enough of it. So this time I used the big bath."

"If you wish to compliment me, I don't mind!"

As Rem was waiting for praise, like a puppy begging to have its head pat, she was met with two reactions. While Akira was seen laughing even harder with how proud of herself the maid was, Subaru walked up to her and looked her in the face.

"ARE YOU STUPID?!"

"You're right! The mayo is frozen!"

"That's not the issue here!!"

"Worry not Subaru-kun! If we boil it down, it will become a nice, warm mayonnaise bath."

Seeing this, Akira stopped laughing as he walked towards Rem. Suddenly the boy grabbed the blue hair maid by both of her hands. A mischievous smile was plastered on the white-haired boy's face as he looked at Rem.

"You did a good job, Rem! So what if the mayo is frozen. You put your heart and soul into this gift for Subaru! Once this is all over, you fill this bath up with as much mayo as possible!!! For Subaru's sake!!!"

"Thank you, Akira-san! I'll double the amount in here once this is over! For Subaru-kun's sake!"

"DON'T ENCOURAGE HER, AKIRA!!!!!!"

It was on this day, Subaru learned that Akira can be a cheeky bastard.

~Dining area~
The group was now standing around as the fireplace was lit. As much Subaru would like Puck to just release all the mana in one go and be done with it, everyone was against the idea considering Puck was one of the Four Great Spirits. There was a high chance that more than just the manor would be frozen completely. Though this brought up a question from Akira.

"Hey, is this magic release period exclusive to just spirits? What about you, Roswaal?"

"In myyyyyy case, I use my magic on a daily basis to keep it regulated. My daily routine requires it, after alllllll. My od has leeway thanks to that."

The moment Roswaal finished this sentenced, the vector manipulator noticed how the lord of the manor glanced at Ram. As Akira looked in her direction, he noticed how the maid's face was bright red. Akira was smart enough to know that it wasn't the fire causing this, so the white-haired boy's reaction was something any normal person would have.

"Master-servant relationship?! Ram........she has a clown fetish? She has a master-servant/clown fetish?! What kind of doujin plot is this?!"

"Kira Kira, why did he look at Ram when he said that?"

".......don't change, Subaru. Keep what little innocence you have left. Anyways, what about Rem and Emilia? Do you two experience it as well?"

It was upon asking them that both Akira and Subaru learned that only certain people possess magic powerful enough to necessitate a magic release period. Since Rem isn't exactly a powerful magic user, she did not experience this situation personally. Emilia stated that she wasn't a very powerful magic user either, so she never experienced it personally too. Though she had a lot of experience dealing with them due to Puck. With a sigh escaping his lips, Akira looked towards the group.

"In any case, let's just focus on keeping this fire going. Rem, Subaru, Emilia, we'll go get some wood."

"YES SIR!"

"You're making me sound like a drill sergeant."

~A few minutes later~
As the group finally made it to the shed, everyone began to stock pile on wood. While Rem and Emilia were inspecting which wood would be good, Subaru and Akira were loading the firewood that was acceptable. Seeing how hard everyone was working just to keep warm, Emilia soon looked towards Rem, Subaru, and Akira.

"I'm really sorry. Back when Puck and I lived in the forest, there was no one around to bother, so I never saw his magic release period as a pro-"

"Would you stop with the apologizing already."

"EEP!"

Emilia yelped as she felt Akira flicking her forward. However, before she could say anything, everyone in the shed was shocked by what happened next. Akira placed his right hand on the girl's head as he gently began to rub her head. His usual scowl now bring replaced with a look of understanding.

"If it's out of your control, it's out of your control. Nothing more, nothing less. So stop apologizing, i'm sure no one here blames you."

"Akira....."

"Besides, this cold isn't as bad as everyone thinks. There is one benefit to this. With how low the temperature got along with this rain....we're in for something fun."

When Akira said this, Subaru began to think. With the situation as it is now, he was positive that there was going to be snow. With a smile on his face, Subaru looked towards Akira with excitement plastered all over his face.

"Kira Kira, are you thinking what i'm thinking?!"

"Looks like we're on the same page. Don't beat yourself up Emilia, because thanks to you, we're gonna be having a rare celebration."

"That's right. This will be the Roswaal Manor's First Wild and Crazy Snow Festival!!!!!!"

"..........................just call it a snow festival."

The warmth of two bros sharing an idea was now tainted with a sting of cringe in Akira's heart.
