Prologue

Thalia Grace gives a small smile as she surveys the chaos that is her second family.

"I know. I'll miss it too," Her boyfriend Luke Castellan says sitting down next to her. Thalia smiles and pecks the boy on the lips.

"Oh no. You're a counselor, don't you have kids to watch or something? I'm not watching you two make out while trying to eat breakfast," another voices says. Thalia turns to glare at the only other person at the table. Her younger brother Jason.

Luke chuckles and ruffles his friend's hair as he eats. His eyes flicker up to Principal Brunner (or Chiron in the summers) who coincidentally runs the camp. With the help of Mr. D but know one is quite sure how he got the job.

Chiron would normally make sure children ate with their own cabin but he turned a blind eye on the Luke as he listens to something Mr. D is telling him.

"I'm going to be sooo bored when you're gone," Jason complains as he flops on his bed in Cabin 1. Thalia rolls her eyes as she sits down on the other bunk.

"You'll live," Thalia states. Staring down her brother. The two are quite opposite. If an outsider were to meet them they would not peg them as siblings.

Thalia has short black hair and punk style with blue eyes. Jason blonde hair blue eyes and your typical jock.

A buzz interrupts them and Jason fishes in his bed for his "illegal" phone. (Phones and technology in general are banned but, it doesn't mean people don't break rules) He glances at a text from his girlfriend before muttering an excuse to Thalia and stepping out the cabin.

Jason quickly steps inside Cabin 13. Nico di Angelo and Hazel Levesque sit at a table playing some card game. Attempting to show Hazel's boyfriend Frank Zhang how to play. Jason passes them to sit on the floor next to his girlfriend Piper McLean. Piper pays him no attention as she quizzes Annabeth Chase how her relationship is going.

"Where is Leo and Percy?" Hazel asks after a while.

"Shit this your fault Jackson!" Leo Valdez whisper yells.

"No it's not!" Percy Jackson replies.

"You just had to sneak to the lake!"

"You could have gone without me. I go to the lake every night. It's nice. I never get caught. It's you being a pyro which got us here."

"I was only trying to scare you!" Leo protests. I didn't mean to light a tree on fire!"

"I heard something this way Katie!" A voice yells. Both boys stop bickering and pale at the sound of Juniper's voice.

Percy ever so slowly turns to leave.

"Where are you going?" Leo asks.

"I am not dying at the hands of nature lovers. I'll take my risk with the Harpy Sisters."

"They like you though because Ella is dating Tyson! They hate me!"

"Not my fault or problem." Percy turns ready to bolt when Leo runs past him pushing the other boy back.

"Hey!" Percy shouts running after his friend.

"This way!" Katie Gardner's voice rings.

Both boys curse and run a bit faster as Cabin 13 nears. They rush inside slamming the door behind them. Leo grabs a chair (ignoring the fact Nico is sitting in it) and hands it to Percy who places in front of the door and sits down.

"Perseus," Annabeth says in a warning tone. "What did you do?"

"I did nothing," Percy says quickly. "I went for a swim as always and was walking back to the tree line- where I put my swim stuff- when he came out of nowhere with a stick on fire scared the shit out of me and set a tree in fire!"

All eyes turn to Leo who pales in response. Nico slaps the back of the boy's head. Both for being stupid and for knocking him over.

"So why are we here again?" Frank asks.

"We're planning Luke and Thalia's going away party," Piper answers. "Okay so I have a couple of ideas..."

Thalia stares blankly at the sky looking ceiling of her Cabin. Jason had run off to who-knows-where a while ago.

She turns slightly to look at the wall. She feels a bit sad as she looks at the the pictures she had hung.

The most recent was taken only at the start of the summer. All her friends laughing and smiling. She vaguely wondered who had taken the picture but she didn't care. She also has a bunch of pictures of herself and or Luke. Some of her brother back when they were little. She looks at the one lone picture on the wall purposefully taped the wrong side down.

Thalia took a deep breath as she undid the tape. She smiled with a sense of nostalgia as she looked upon the picture.

Herself, Reyna, Bianca and Zoë. It was taken after the girls first summer together a few years ago. It feels like so much longer ago.

Thalia let the picture fall next to her as she closed her eyes. Thinking about everything that had happen in just over a year.

Zoë Nightshade and then Bianca di Angelo were killed.

Zoë.... Bianca had been killed by Reyna.

But who had Reyna meant to kill? Thalia had a large suspicion that Piper was not the intended target. She always tried to turn the thought away as she wondered if Reyna had tried to kill her.

The idea seemed a bit far fetched.

A soft knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. "Come in!" She calls assuming Jason had returned. No response. She calls again with the same outcome.

Thalia groans as she stands going to open the door. "You know you can just come in Jason. You-"

Thalia stops confused as she sees no one at the door. She glances around before something on the floor catches her eye.

A letter.

She picks it up and closes the door behind her as she walks back to her bed. She eyes the letter suspiciously expecting some sort of prank from Cabin 11. The stupid pranksters. Wonderfully enough her boyfriend Luke is in charge of said cabin. "The Children of Hermes (or Mercury)" they had deemed themselves.

She examines it finding no "To" or "From". After finding no immediate threat she slowly opens the letter. She a folded piece of paper is inside.

She opens the piece of paper and stares at it wide eyed.

To: Thalia Grace the murder, and the liar.

Zoë can't speak about her murder from beyond the grave. Neither can Bianca. Reyna has stayed silent. But what about me?

Underneath is a very detailed drawing of the the terrible night on the roof. She sees Reyna sitting on the logs, Bianca standing next to herself, eyes wide with fear and herself shoving Zoë.

Thalia crumples the letter and runs and flings open the door looking anywhere for the sender. But the night is silent.

"I sent it."

"Good," Reyna replies with a smirk. She sits in a navy jumpsuit behind a glass, phone in hand as she speaks with her visitor.

"Am I done now?"

Reyna gives a short laugh. "Not even close. That was only the beginning."
