Maz arrived at Rey's apartment 5 minutes later with a huge smile on her face. Rey gathered her bag, phone and money. She would defiantly need money. She put a note through Rose's door telling her where she had gone and what she was up to in case they wondered where she was when they came back.

She hopped into the falcon and Maz drove to the rescue centre. They though it would be better to know how big the pet was and what it was before going to the pet shop. Which made more sense than Rey's original plan. 

Rey was super doper excited as she stepped out the car and went up to the animal rescue. It was very small but warm and welcoming all the same. Maz followed Rey inside to the reception area. Rey went up to the counter and then said:

"HI, I was wondering if I could rescue a pet from here."

"Of course, dear just fill out the relevant data about yourself and when your done I will show you our animals."

"Thank you."

Maz helped Rey fill out all the data she need it felt weird to actually be doing this. She had wanted a pet for so long. When she came to her address it felt strange not to just skip it and she wrote down the address and apartment number. It almost made Rey feel normal.

Rey handed the form in and the women lead her and Maz to the animals. They walked down long corridors of animals who jumped up or made a fuss. Rey would rescue them all if she could she knew just how it was to feel trapped and unable to escape. She knew how it felt to want someone to come and rescue her and save her.

Rey wanted a pet she had a connection with. They reached the end of the corridor and that's when Rey saw them. So super cute! They was a giant brown shaggy furred newfoundland dog cuddling with a small white and ginger cat. Rey knew immediately that she wasn't getting one pet but two. 

"What about them? They are so cute!" Rey pointed to the dog and cat.

"Oh, that's Chewbacca the newfoundland and BB8 the cat nobody really wants them they have been here for months."

"I want them."

"Are you sure my child?" Maz wanted to make sure Rey was making the right choice.

"Yes, I will take them both please."

"Ok come back to reception we will fill out the papers for you to have them, I will tell you about what they eat and need, you can pay the appropriate fee and I will get them for you."

Rey's smile was contagious as she followed the women to reception and rapidly filled out the forms so she could own Chewbacca and BB8. The lady told her about their diets and requirements and Maz recorded everything down so they would know what to get at the pet shop.

"I will go and get them for you."

The lady returned with a ginormous Chewbacca and a little BB8. Rey got up and cuddled them Chewbacca licked her face in acceptance and gratitude and BB8 stroked against her and purred.

It was a bit of a challenge getting them into the Falcon, but it was ok. Rey sat down in the back with BB8 cuddled in her lap and Chewbacca lying across the other seats letting Rey stroke his head. They were content and Rey was too. 

They headed over to the big pet store on the outskirts of Naboo. It was ginormous. They could take in Chewbacca and BB8 whilst they shopped. So Rey took hold of Chewbacca's lead and walked him in as Maz carried BB8 in her arms. The staff were very welcoming and helped them get everything they need for Chewbacca and BB8.

They got a cute resistance pet bed large enough for them both to snuggle up on together, a cat tray, cat toys, dog toys, dog food, cat food, treats, cute costumes, blankets and grooming products. Today cost Rey a bomb so tomorrow's shift at 'Jabba's place' will be welcomed with open arms.

Rey had achieved yet another of her dreams. Chewbacca and BB8 were amazing!
