Rey's P.O.V.
The day started very ordinary, except it was anything but ordinary by this by point I found myself stuck in mangled drapery hanging about ten feet off the ground, how did I get to this point you ask well it all started this morning.

I was starting my daily scavenging when I noticed a group of common thief aliens yelling and running in my direction. One of them came up behind me and put his blaster to my the back of my head while the other shoved a box into my arms I glanced down to the box and read the small text engraved into it

Don't open under any circumstances.

I glanced up at them ready to protest and felt the barrel of the gun was released from my head, I wasn't  surprised at their quick leaving and I shoved it in my inside my pack and swiftly walked down the sandy dunes of Jakku that lead to a ship graveyard, hoping I could find a semi working ship to get this box to the resistance base. I had to get rid of this before any one knows that I have it.

I arrived at the base around night fall feeling like the box was burning a hole in my pack I had to take a peek it wouldn't hurt anyone, I took the box out of and was suddenly startled by a resistance guard

" can I help you" he asked me with a bored monotoned voice

"yes in fact you can" I started " I've came here to see general organa it's an emergency"

he lifted an eyebrow at me and stepped aside pointing in the direction of what I assumed were the main doors. I wandered around until I came across a metal door with the name "leia organa" written on a silver plack on her door. I cracked the door open slowly just in case she was tending to unfinished business, when it was open i stood in the door way staring back at a room that was full of what im guessing were the resistance leaders, i took a look around , my eyes widening at the sight before me, it was him, why in makers name would they bring him here?

I cleared my throat to get their attention.

" ah rey my dear it's so good to see you again " she says still facing her son, a cheery expression in her voice

" yes well general I have something to talk to you about" I shifted awkwardly mumbling under my breathe hoping i wouldn't get her attention so I could just forget about this whole thing.

she turned slowly and looked at my sternly with her eyebrow arched

" well rey there is something quite important I need to discuss with you as well"

she nodded her head towards kylo. I arched my eyebrows at her in confusion, i have a bad feeling about this

Honestly scavenger you should but there's no to worry , a deep voice chuckled out

I looked up to see  kylo smirking down at me, I took a step toward him a harshly pointed finger aimed at him
" you, you what do you think you're doing here-?" I say acidly before being cut off by Leia pulling me aside.

I sigh and she rolls her eyes at me,
"you know it's been a while since I've seen you so I need to get you caught up on what's *cough* going on here."

she grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the group into a small separate area away from everyone else .

" well rey as you can see my son is here with us today ."

I nod, it was very hard to not realize his presence, not only because of his well known "wrongdoings" but because he was extremely tall and although I hate to admit it he is quite handsome better looking than most here in the resistance.

"so rey, my son has come here to form an alliance with us um join the light side if you will."

My eyes widen in surprise and I scoff  " listen general its really good thats hes turning to the light side but it's a bit fast don't you think? I mean just a month ago he was trying to kill us now he just wants to pretend everything is fine and dandy, general he has to be up to something." I spit raising my voice at her

She looks down and fiddles with her fingers like a small child who was caught in their wrongdoing

"I know you don't trust him but please just give him a chance he's all i have left and I can't lose him again"

a tear falls down her cheek and I realized I need to woman up and get over what he's done no matter how hard it is, for Leia I'm only doing this for her. I sigh and give a fake smile

" I'll help him but I'm only doing it for you, because I hate to see you upset general"

" thank you so much rey, now what is it you wanted to tell me"

I leaned up to her ear and glanced around my eyes landing on ben a smirk still played on his face

" I have been given something and I think it might belong to your brother."

I said in a whisper making sure only me and her could hear it.

She nodded. " well alrighty," she walked out to the other resistance leaders

"I will be right back everyone I have business to take care of " she said to the room of people and escorted me out of the room.

Ben cocked an eyebrow at us and took a step forward, I put up my hand by my side telling him to stay where he was, he nodded and put his hands up lowly as a surrender

I turned towards leia motioning for her to lead the way, We walked down the hall until we reached a gold engraved door.

" I have been meaning to tell you and I suppose now that you brought it up to me I don't need to" she said, her eyes looking distant, she shook her head and smiled

"tell me what" I asked, she nodded to the box her smile leaving her face.

" the box that's the reason you came, yes?" She said slowly as if it would get the message across easier

" yes of course how did you know?" I asked in confusion

I noticed bens presence close by and shook my head to signal him to not come any closer, I returned my attention back to leia watching her tired eyes as they continued her explanation

"well, a few days ago the resistance had been dealing with the first order more than usual, they upped their attacks and weaponry-but since ben left they have been sending spies to steal information and such" I nodded

" and um that box" she mumbled

"ok well then take it yours isn't it" I shoved the box in her direction, she cocked her eyebrows in a humorous fashion and gently shoved the box towards me

"well it certainly was in my brother's possession,but in fact it belongs to you".

I stared at her in unbelief, me,it belongs to me, nothing was left to me everything was taken from me but never left never for me. It isn't right to leave these types of things to a young woman.

" that can't be right " I said shaking my head slightly,

"well it is I have the key but every time I tried to open it, it would close tighter, only true jedis or jedis in training in your case, can open it Rey, my son has tried to channel his light to open it, but it didn't work then either, you need to open it Rey."

Was she serious this was the most preposterous thing I have ever heard, I can't believe I thought it was a good idea to bring this to her, but I mean she did say i could only open but why?

 I reach for the box and try to use what i know of the force already to open it shakily I stick my hand over it and imagine myself opening it trying to recall what I've already learned about the force, it shakes attempting to open and closes tighter, come on rey I chant to myself it's a box just open it

I try to feel at peace one with the force , I close my eyes and breathe in deeply concentrated solely on the box and getting it open.

I feel leia take a step forward " no wait ben don't-"  she whisper yells

I feel a large hand place itself on my waist and the other over my hand, a sense of relief washes over me, hot breathe hits my neck and they lean closer " now rey I'm not going to do this myself you need to listen to me ok?" The voice whispers

I nod slowly feeling all the force around me, the peace, the anger all of it mixed together
" that's good" the voice whispers, "breathe think of the ocean, your friends , think of them they're all waiting for you after this you'll be able to see them" I give a small smile and lean my head towards the voice

" ok one last time rey" I hum allowing them to continue, " think of... me, think of us how we could help each other the chances we'll take together the peace and order we'll bring to the galaxy" they move closer " now don't move I'm going to try something"

" Ben no!" A Feminine voice yells harshly I wince at the sound " quiet" they whisper harshly
They slowly put their hand on mine, sparks go through my whole body, the feeling of their warmth making me feel truly at home.

I open my eyes and a flash of light burst the box open blowing us back, my head is thrown back but hits what feels like a torso, I look up to see ben smiling down at me, I scramble to get off him but he grabs my handle softly and the same sparks tingle in my hands " you did it rey" he whispers

I look at him confused , he chuckles shaking his head lifting his hand up he wraps the lightsaber in his hand and gingerly hands it to me. My eyes widen looking to leia for reassurance that what just happened actually happened.
She smiles and walks over to us, "you better be careful with that rey it's very powerful"

" I'm sure she can handle it she's very strong with the force" ben whispers with a bit of venom, I shoot him a glare telling him to knock it off

"I'm sure she can I'm just warning her that's all" she says smiling

I sit on the cold floor trying how to decipher this moment, why would I of all people be left a lightsaber, Luke skywalkers saber specifically. Although I'm a bit wary about it I'm very grateful for the opportunity to wield his saber.

I sit the lightsaber back in the box and close it tightly, I flinch at the sudden commotion of pounding feet shaking the floor, I hop on my feet and turn towards the commotion. My eyes widen as I see the alien thieves from earlier this afternoon burst through the doors covered in blood.

" what did I tell you!" One of them yelled at me, ben hoped up and looked at me run he whispered, he began ushering leia away from the commotion and looked at me once more as I stood in shock

" run rey" he yelled at me ,

I snapped out of and I sprinted the opposite direction of the un- named intruders

I ran towards the exit and up the stairs, as i reached the the top a bullet zoomed past me, i moved out of the way to dodge it causing me to trip down the stairs.  A curtain engulfed my leg and tangled me up.

 I struggled to get out which worked to an extent, but they kept shooting at the now mangled curtain which hung me about ten feet off the ground. I was stuck in the curtain, I couldn't move at all I could do was listen I heard sounds of blaster and I remember the lightsaber , i grab it out of the box and I look around and see ben standing close by deflecting the blaster shots from coming towards me. I look around and yell

" ben catch" his eyes flickered and he looked up at me and smirked

" only if you say please" he said in a mocking tone, i groan

" this isn't time for jokes ben just catch this bloody lightsaber" he nods and catches the falling saber.

He starts slashing at the men around him, I look down at the bodies and i cringe at the sound of men's screams of help, I look up at the curtain and try to untangle myself, Ben sees me struggling and comes over to my aid, he slashes the curtain and catching me as I fall from the curtain landing on my feet and I suddenly feel a sharp tang in my back I fall to my knees my hands in fists on bens chest, i look up slowly and see ben's eyes tears welling up in them back to me and my vision starts to go blurry, the lights are slowly going black and I feel something ripped from my back and I gasp for breath as I feel myself slipping away and I look up to see ben crying screaming for help, he settles me on a hospital bed telling me to keep my eyes open.
I look up at him and smile putting my hand on his
" it'll be ok ben" I whisper

He smiled a tear falling down his cheek, he looks over at the medical droids and says something I can't decipher, my eyebrows crease in confusion, he looks back at me with sadness evident in his eyes.

" what have I done ..." he whispers.
