I Threaten A Professor

Annabeth POV (Short chapter next one will be long to make up for it)

While waiting for the task to begin I was feeling more and more anxious for what was about to happen. When a loud Boom could be heard from just outside the arena. Some Professors began to yell about all of the toilets exploding as a few of them rushed off. I turned to the Stolls,

"Boys! Behave yourselves we are their guests!" I hissed at them. Travis turned to me sporting a face of shock.

"I can see where you might get that idea but I swear that wasn't us... we've been busy tricking the students into betting against Percy beating his dragon." Connor turned slowly to face me sporting a similar look as his brother. I frown and notice that all of my friends have looks of surprise and are on the edge of their seats with eyes darting around looking for more danger.

"Oh my Gods." I spin on the son of Hephaestus sitting behind me, who has a face of panic and recognition. I scowl at him,

"Valdez, I swear to the Go-" he cuts me off quickly with a wave of his hand,

"It wasn't me Annie. I think it was Percy. With the number of times that boy blew up the plumbing on my ship I am now uniquely attuned to the sound. -I think Percy is angry." Leo looks me right in the eyes with his last sentence. I spin on my seat to stare at the champions' tent, it had seemed to be swaying side to side earlier, like gusts of wind were moving it, but upon closer inspection, it was more wobbly like the ground was moving.

"What could have him so stressed out to blow up the toilets?" Thalia questioned beside me, also watching the tent sway.

"I have no idea," Hazel whispers.

"How could Percy blow up the toilets? He's still in the champions' tent with Harry, that's on the other side of the stadium." Hermione asked us after a moment of silence with a frown gracing her face.

"Percy is a very powerful half-blood, one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful I've ever met. I wouldn't put anything past him." Nico responded as the cannon went off and the first brilliant green Dragon was brought out with her eggs. Followed closely by Fleur Delacour.

"Whatever it is I hope he's okay," Jason adds as the first task begins.

"That Dragon was loose professor!" I all but screamed at Dumbledore, who calmly turned to me with a twinkle in his eye, unaffected by my outburst.

The second Harry had stepped out things had gone downhill for the young boy. He was struggling with the Dragon and had nearly been turned to a crisp a multitude of times before getting a spell off, his broom had come zooming through the stands and he jumped on. I had to admit he was an excellent flyer, but the Horntail had gotten loose and chased him away from the arena and egg, destroying a part of it entirely. I had stormed to the professor's area, it being the damaged area while the rest of the students cheered for the dragon and its destruction. Piper had begun to swear in French which had been surprising for everyone. I picked up a few colourful curses aimed at the adults in the arena. Jason had escorted her out to cool down. I had been yelling at the caretaker Mr. Filch about going to see Dumbledore about safety when Harry returned for his egg- dragonless, covered in soot and blood, with a broom smoking like it had been on fire. I had been yelling at Dumbledore since then while some people from the ministry expanded the arena to nearly double its size and put up stronger protections. Dumbledore had yet to show any sort of real concern for his pupil.

"He could have died! He was chased out of the arena, away from people who could help him had he been in more trouble than he already was! What kind of teacher allows a barely 15-year-old to battle a Dragon! You deserve a spot in the fields of p-"

"Miss Chase, please. Our dear Mr. Potter was never in any real danger, we had dragon tamers following him the second the dragon came loose. Other than a few bumps, bruises, and a very minor burn he is fine. He is in much better shape than Mr Diggory for sure. There is no need for such anger." Dumbledore interrupted my rant. I felt my temper flare once more.

"The Dragon never should have gotten loose in the first place! And Cedric is exactly my point! These are children that are competing; they should not be facing Dragons! It's too dangerous!" I hollered at the jolly teacher in front of me.

"Miss Chase, please. Mr Jackson's task is about to start. I suggest you return to your seat. I assure you there are more protection spells up for your comrade." I sneered at the old man and watched as some of his jolly attitude was wiped away. I snarled my next words at him before stalking away. Cursing him out in Ancient Greek.

"You better hope he isn't injured in Any Way, Albus. Or you and I - are going to have some serious issues."

When I arrived back at my seat Jason and Piper were back, the latter looking ready for war. At my arrival, our group fell silent.

"Well? Did he have anything to say for himself?" Thalia hissed at me, her eyes flashing like lightning in a storm. There was a distinct smell of ozone around her.

"No. He claimed he was never in any Real danger." I growled out, Thalia made a low growl noise that caused the people around her to slide out of the way.

"Dumbledore would never intentionally put Harry in any real danger. I told you all this." Hermione told us hesitantly without making direct eye contact with anybody, just staring at her lap. Thalia bristled at her words and stood up and walked away.

"Thalia, Percy's task is starting soon!" I called after her.

"I'll be back in a minute, I need to shoot something, and I'd rather it wasn't any of you. If I run into the old man though I make no promises." She hissed back at us. Hermione paled more at her words. It was silent for a few minutes while we all tried to get our emotions back in check. I hadn't heard any more plumbing blow up so it seemed Percy had not noticed Harry's appearance when he came back, and that almost made me more nervous about what could be upsetting him.

Suddenly Thalia came rushing back to us, shoving students out of her way and sliding directly into Franks side who yelped at the sudden contact.

"What's wrong Thalia?" Hazel asked her, taking in her appearance. Her hair as wild as the look in her eye. She was white as a ghost despite her having obviously run here.

"They- they- oh my gods, they're going to get us all killed." she gasped out eyes wide.

"What do you mean?" Jason asked his sister softly after assuring a fellow student that yes she was fine and was just being dramatic to make him stop listening.

"Percy, oh gods Percy. I know why he blew up the toilets. He probably didn't even realize that he did. Oh, gods." I took her face in my hands forcing her to look at me.

"What is it," I ask her, her skin sends tingles through my body and I can feel the electricity making my hair stand on edge. Just as she opens her mouth a mighty Roar silences the crowd. I spin on my heel to face the monster. I hear the gasps coming from my friends behind me.

"Oh gods." I hear Connor whisper,

"Is that- is that what I think it is." Jason whispers to us. Hermione answers him lowly,

"That- that's a Ukrainian Ironbelly Dragon. That should not be a dragon they use during a tournament. Ron's brother Charlie talks about dragons all the time, he's here actually. But he- he should know better!" She exclaims but I ignore her, all I can do is stare in horror as the Drakon is led into the arena. It's no wonder they expanded the arena and put up more protection spells.

"Perc- Percy has to fight That Thing!" Piper mutters.

"What in the Hades is That Thing?" Hazel asks, her terror coming out through her voice.

"A Drakon, more specifically the Lydian Drakon. Like in Manhattan, right Annabeth?" Travis asks me in a low voice. I glance at him and notice that his complexion has dropped significantly. I had forgotten that he and Connor had seen it before Clarisse disposed of it.

"The what? I just told you what it was." Hermione scolded us with a frown.

"That Thing-" Will began with a shaking voice, "Killed Silena." Piper's head snapped to the son of Apollo.

"Silena- like Silena Beauregard Silena?" With a slow devastating nod from Will who had grabbed Nicos hand and was holding on like he would float away if he let go. Nico looked no better, the shadows around him had increased so much so that I wasn't sure if Will was keeping Nico here or Nico was trying to shield the monster from Wills' view. Piper gasped and covered her mouth with both hands.

"Oh Hades, the others would describe it and they showed me the books on it but- oh I never- that thing is terrifying." The horror in Piper's voice washed over all of us and suddenly I felt more scared than I ever had in my life. I spun on the girl in question hissing out my words as the hair on my arms stood up.

"Not helping McLean." She paled slightly looking around at the people around us who had all gone from pointing and whispering about the creature to horrified frozen children who wanted to hide under their beds.

"Oh- Oh! I'm sorry! Ignore what I just said." I felt her charm wear off as the chatter around us resumed with a few people giving wary looks at the daughter of Aphrodite. I nodded my thanks as I focused back on the Drakon in front of me.

"Percy has to fight that alone. He has to take an egg and survive to tell the tale?" Frank whispered to Leo.

"He's got this, Big Man. Our boys got a built-in fire extinguisher built into his body. He puts me out during Capture the Flag all the time. What's a snake with arms got that I don't?" Leo's attempt at a joke falls on deaf ears when I opened my mouth to explain, against my better judgment.

"It spits Acid, has impenetrable armor, and eyes that will freeze you on the spot. It can only be defeated by a child of- uh- war. I've only seen one defeated by Clarisse who had her father's blessing at the time and a score to pick after it had fatally injured Silena, who had been dressed in her armor leading her cabin." It was silent for a moment before Leo muttered a horrified Oh in response. As all of the handlers left the arena the Drakon began sniffing the air and spun in our direction. Suddenly the air around me was shimmering and slightly warped.

"Hazel is trying to confuse it with the mist. There are too many powerful smells over here, it's going to target us instead of Percy and threaten everyone around us. Thalia, Piper I know you guys have a sort of control over stuff like this can you help disorient it?" Frank explained when we all looked around confused. Hermione made a noise in the back of her throat.

"Is this your plan? Percy's plan to get past his dragon is for his friends to distract it from the sidelines as he takes all the credit? I thought you all had more respect than that. Hell Percy stood up for me and Harry in the tent from Rita Skeeter. I knew there was something off with you guys, Ron was right." She hissed at us, she rose to leave but was pulled back into her seat by Thalia.

"Listen here Granger. Because of how we train back home we have a smell that monsters, like that thing over there, can smell. The more powerful elements you practice the stronger you smell. It's dangerous and people get hurt and die. But it's necessary, we will explain more when he isn't about to face something that killed our friend. We are not helping Percy, because he is too noble to let us. We are trying to distort our smell as Jason, Hazel, Nico, and I along with Percy have the strongest smells here based on the elements we study. We are using our powers to make it fair so that our overpowering smell doesn't affect the Drakons ability to protect the egg. So if anything you should be thanking us, because Artemis knows that I would love to have a shot at that monster. So sit down, shut up and pray that nothing happens to Jackson." After being scolded by Thalia, Hermione had the decency to look slightly ashamed. I gave Thalia a thankful look before returning my attention to the Drakon that killed my friend and realistically should not have been able to reform this quickly.

"Percy will be fine- he has the Styx on his side." Nico tries to reassure us, but the way he speaks makes me wonder if he is trying to convince us or himself. Either way I nod at him in thanks, as long as Percy keeps his weakness covered he should be okay.

Ludo Bagman's voice begins to boom once again, causing all of us to jump, as it echoes around the arena to introduce the monster before us.

"Wizards and Witches! May I introduce our final dragon of the day, the Ukrainian Ironbelly. This special dragon is not like most of its kind whereas it secretes an acid rather than fire and due to deformation at birth only has two legs by its wings, and prefers to slither rather than walk like the other dragons seen today. Its hide is near indestructible and is rather large for one of its breed. Its challenger today is all the way from America at Chirons Academy of Magic and Potions, we have Mr. Perseus Jackson!" A roar of approval comes from the crowd but I can only stare at the entrance my boyfriend is about to walk through.

The Drakon takes a deep breath and spins on its heel looking at the entrance. It's silent while we wait for Percy to appear. When he comes racing out of the entrance as the Drakon spits Acid through the opening.
