°chapter twenty two

"How the hell are we going to solve this, Harvey?" I say with panic as I slam the car door, Harvey walking with me into the firm building. "They have evidence that we don't even know about!" Harvey grabs hold of my shoulder, spinning me around to face him.

"Look, you know how good I am. You have to trust me." I look into his eyes, blinking slowly. Nodding, we both head to the elevators.

"How are you going to solve it though? Do you have a plan?" He takes a deep breath and we both step into the elevators, the doors closing.

"I do. I need to run by you about how many people we can let in on this." I snap my head to him.

"What did you just say? Did you just give me the idea that you want more people in on my personal case? When the whole firm could fucking sink!" I lower my head and pinch my nose in anger, taking a few deep breaths. I really did trust Harvey, but bringing in more people would just completely drop everything about confidentiality. And I kept my private life, private.

"Listen, I think we should have my associate help me."

"Mike?"

"Yes. He can do a lot, trust me." The doors open and I step out, pausing.

"You know that you're asking a lot of me... And this case is-"

"-personal. I know. I get it. I'm glad you're choosing to share this with me." I notice his voice shake a little as he runs his fingers through his sleek hair. "I know that after everything you've been through, you deserve some justice." I lick my lips and my voice comes out soft.

"I'm sorry... It's just..." He places his hands onto my shoulders and brushes my cheek lightly with his thumb.

"You don't need to explain." Harvey clears his throat suddenly and quickly removed his hands from me. I knew someone was watching us. "I'll find Mike and we'll reconvene later." Harvey proceeds to find Mike and I watch him walk away, taking a shivery inhale. My hands were clammy.

I couldn't exactly hide forever.

Scrunching my hands together, I make my way to my office, only to be met by Donna, who hovered over my desk.

"Donna." She turns around, a smile on her face.

"Hi." Donna takes a step forward and I couldn't help but wonder if she knew the truth about all of this. "So... Louis is looking for you. He said he wants some research from you?" I bow my head and swallow hard. "I'll deal with him." She brushes past my shoulder and I turn to face her.

"Donna. It's fine-"

"-no. You need to deal with whatever reason why Harvey needs to be your lawyer. He hasn't told me and I respect that." I give her a faint smile. "Louis can wait. Or just get one of the associates to do it."

"Thank you." Feeling calm, I sit down in my chair, Donna walking out of office.

Only to walk back in again. She parted her lips and smirked.

"Good luck." Acknowledging her help and words of wisdom, I fall back into my chair, closing my eyes. I stepped on the concept of Donna being way to good for Harvey. She was amazing.

And just like that, it was time for me and Harvey to leave for the day. I hadn't seen him all day, but had a note stuck on my desk to tell me to meet him at seven to go to his place.

Pushing the door open to leave the building, I notice Harvey and he waves me over.

"So, I spoke to Mike. He's going to come round soon and bring some files about Dylan. His accounts, his details. Everything." There was one thought on my mind and Harvey noticed it immediately. "What's wrong?" He asks. I try not to look at him.

"I should really find a place Harvey. Me staying with you... I'm a burden..." His eyebrows knit together when I glance at him.

"No, no... you're not. With me, you're safe. He can't hurt you. At least stay with me until this is all over, okay?" How could I say no?

"Okay." He gives me a soft smile and opens the car door for me.

Not long after we arrive and I still felt uneasy.

The whole rider over, I couldn't help but feel eyes on me. If Dylan could find me at Harvey's, what else could he do to me? He could wreck my whole life and he wouldn't hesitate.

Once we had gotten inside, I bury my face into my hands and Harvey walks over rubbing his hand on my shoulder and pulling my head up to face his.

"Amy..." I struggle to meet his eyes. "Look at me..." I slowly look at him. "I'm here for you..."

I press my forehead to his. For a moment, he felt tense, but he relaxes and our faces are close together. Our lips inch closer and I find myself pressing my lips onto his as a tear rolls down my cheek. Harvey cups my cheek and the kiss grows hungrier with each second. We were breathless, but didn't have a care in the world. I could feel that we were both waiting for this - that it was a long time coming. His hands travel down to my waist and he pulls me in even closer, my hands now in his hair. Harvey lets out a light moan in my mouth. With his strong hands, he pulls me up onto the counter and the kiss doesn't break, not even for second. He quickly removes his jacket and I work his buttons on his shirt. Harvey pulls my dress up and his hands press onto my inner thigh. I let out a moan. Everything felt right. It felt right. I didn't want to pull away. I felt that just for a moment, I could forget about Dylan, my case and my guilt.

But all good moments come to an end.

Suddenly, there is a knock on the door. Harvey and I break the kiss and stare at each other in complete shock. I jump off the counter and pulls down my dress, flattening down my hair. I watch Harvey button his shirt up and tidy his hair.

I open the door to see both Mike and Rachel with boxes in their hands.

We looked at each other and hope they didn't hear us.
