°chapter twenty nine
The morning sunlight had finally reached Harvey's apartment. I woke up to the most beautiful view of New York City. I looked over it, taking a deep breath - knowing was what ahead of me.
Of us.
Today.
I was filled with dread as soon as thought about it and I closed my eyes, clenching my jaw. Today was life or death for me. Trusting someone I had loved had earned me nothing more than a headache, but I was happy to be with one man. I knew Harvey wouldn't betray me or cause me harm. This relationship was different and the night we had shared showed me how much I wanted him. And how he wanted me.
Suddenly, I felt big, strong arms wrap themselves around me. Harvey tugged at my dressing gown, planting sweet kisses onto my neck.
"So... how's..." He spoke between each peck. "... my... lovely... Amy...?" I took a breath in, this time, feeling calmer than before, because I knew that Harvey would be by my side on a day like this.
"I'm... scared." I felt his warm breath lift from my skin. "But... I'm happy that you'll be with me." He smirked from the corner of my eyes and I tilted my head to the side and my dressing gown was slowly revealing what was underneath.
As I was pulled into this sweet temptation, I realised where we were and instantly gripped Harvey's hair, pulling him close to my lips. I quickly pulled up my silk gown and whispered to him.
"We have an audience..." Harvey smiled.
"I want the whole world to know that I'm with a beautiful woman that I love. I want to show you off." I lifted an eyebrow, hot puffs of air tickling my skin.
"Do you now..." I teased him, our lips lightly touching, but I slowly leaned away. We separated.
"Oohhh..." Harvey moaned, pouting. I smiled wickedly.
"You have to wait." I folded my arms, passing a knowing look to Harvey. "Because, we, have a trial to get to." He played with his suit shirt, fiddling with its buttons. I admired his lightly toned body and wondered why I never looked at it before.
"Alright..." He crawled over to me. "But, we... are finishing this later." Harvey pressing his hand onto my cheek, pulling me into a sweet, yet passionate, kiss.
It was as if we treated this day as our last. Yet, somehow, I felt as if it wasn't. All because of this man. And this feeling was amazing. "Okay... now that we're satisfied. I'm making breakfast." I broke out in laughter. "What?"
"Harvey Specter can cook?" Harvey dipped into a bow and I bit my lips.
"Yes. I can cook. How about..." He looked away, in thought. "... you go have a shower. Well, we will have a shower." Harvey smirked mischievously and places his hand onto my butt. I immediately felt tingly. "... and then, while you get ready, I'll cook us some breakfast. What do you fancy?" I opened my mouth, but he spoke before I could tell him. "Actually, it'll be a surprise!" Grabbing hold of my hand, he pulled me towards the bathroom and we bathed together.
It had felt nice to have hot, steamy water on my skin. I felt more relaxed and Harvey definitely had something else he wanted to do to me before we scrubbed ourselves.
After we had some fun getting dirty again, I had gotten ready as Harvey made breakfast. I slipped into my slim green dress with gold outlines. It was one of my lucky dresses. I know, a silly superstition, but somehow, green made me feel in control and powerful.
I stepped into the kitchen, and it smelled sweet. You see, Harvey had read my mind. He made me pancakes with bacon and syrup. And I loved it. We ate (although at times, we kisses more than we ate), and before we left, Harvey pulled me close to him. "We will do this. I'll be there the whole time. That son of a bitch deserves to lose." Pressing his lips to mine, he kissed me softly.
I held onto those words as we drove to the courthouse. Harvey hand never left mine as we went inside and I shook next to him.
But I immediately let go, as I set my eyes onto the one man I'd hoped not to see until the trail.
"Hello Amelia." I balled my hand into a fist, out of Dylan's sight. "You both won't win... I mean, I know we're both screwing our lawyers, since I got a new one, but..." Harvey lightly touched his hand onto my back. He wasn't ashamed of our time together. "... I always win. Just like that stupid baby of ours." Dylan moved forward, whispering quietly into my ear. "I'm glad I got rid of it. Thank you for swallowing that glass of sparkling wine that night." I frowned, my breath quickening as Dylan walked away from us.
"Hey, hey... what's wrong?"
"He... he did it..."
"Did what?"
"He gave me some kind of drug... to make me have a miscarriage..."
But, where the hell is my evidence. I didn't have any. And we were about to go in, with a loss.
