°chapter thirty two

The judge's gavel echoed in the bare courtroom and everyone had watched as the judge left, but me and Harvey didn't. We just stared at each other, because maybe, just maybe, we had this in the bag.

Our line of vision broke as soon as Jessica passed in between us. I blinked continuously for a moment and diverted my eyes to her- as well as the rest of the firm and Doctor Drake, who joined us.

"Thank you Doctor... I know this must have been hard." He shook his head, smiling.

"Anything to help put that horrible man into jail Ms Steele." I nodded and then turned to Jessica.

"Jessica, I-" I began to speak, but Jessica lifted her hand up to stop me.

"There's no need." Harvey made his way around her and stood beside me, his fingers between mine where no one could see. "Harvey here said that we could trust you." I turned to my side and squeezed Harvey's hand, thankful. "And, if he trusts you, then we all do. We don't leave family behind." Exhaling slowly, I looked at the small circle of the firm who stood with me here today.

"Thank you... I... I know that this has cost the firm a lot of grief, but I really appreciate everything you've all done. Including you Donna." Everyone smiled, even Louis. Harvey's thumb softly rubbed my knuckle and I smiled a little too. "Even if I don't-"

"-There is no way that son of a bitch is going to get away with what he's done to you Amelia." Jessica commented, her eyes dimly ablaze.

"No man should ever do that to a women." I turned to see Louis speaking. "It's disgusting."

"We're sorry for everything you've been through with him." Mike said, simpering.

I had gradually feel my heart toning down. It was both relieved and scared, because all I could think about was what the end result would be and that everyone at the firm had known what I had been through in the past. I often wondered if they judged me for why I never told them, however, I could never bring myself to ask. Why should I?

Everyone broke away. Everyone except Harvey.

"Amy?" I paused before answering Harvey.

"... Yes?" He moved his hand from my own and lightly placed it onto my back.

"Can we talk outside?" Nodding, Harvey and I made our way to the hallway and we stopped, standing by a bench. Although, we never sat down.

Harvey looked over my shoulder, looking a little daydreamed and I frowned at his expression.

"Harvey? Harvey what is it?" He looked into my eyes and my breath caught for a second.

"This." He placed one hand onto my cheek and leaned forward, pressing his lips onto my own. He kissed me softly, yet I felt his passion at the same time. I breathed in his scent and we didn't stop as his hands snaked themselves around my waist. Harvey had pulled me into him with a strong grip on me and his tongue slid into my mouth. At that moment, I didn't want to stop, and I knew that he didn't either. But, that also meant one other thing.

He was prepared to make our relationship official and I was confident that I could with him. Harvey was just that special to me.

We had broke after some time, both of us breathing heavily. "I don't care if it kills me... I'm always going to save you, because..." I bit my bottom lip, a little embarrassed. "... I love you Amelia Steele." Inhale quickly and sharply, I smiled.

"I... I love you too Harvey Specter." He smiled. God dammit he had the most beautiful smile. It made me smile even wider.

I don't think anyone could predict that Harvey could has done this with, well, anybody. I was that one lucky women.

"Hmm... I liked that." He whispered.

"I'm guessing you want some more of me later?" Harvey chuckled as he moved his lips to my ear, my toes curling in my shoes.

"With a side of me for you." I grinned as we pulled apart slightly, Harvey grabbing hold of my hands. "And I'm sorry that I was late. Mike called me because Connor decided to testify against him and he found out that the results were all wrong." I shook my head, smiling softly.

"You don't need to say sorry Harvey... I'm just glad you're here... I would never be here if it wasn't for you." The corner's of his mouth lifted as Harvey smiled.

"I know." I laughed a little,  "Should we grab some coffee with the rest of them?"

"Yes, we all should." Harvey pulled my hands to my lips, pressing his lips firmly onto the back of them. We both took a moment before walking into view, and we noticed everyone loitering at the end of the corridor.

"Coffee everyone?" Harvey asked and everyone nodded in agreement.

The rest of the firm walked on ahead as me and Harvey trailed behind.

"We're gonna do this." Harvey said.

"Hm?"

"You going to get out of this alive and that dick is going to jail. I'm going to always fight for you." I plastered on a fake smile because I didn't want Harvey to keep being concerned about how I felt.

As we got coffee, we all laughed and talked. It was at that moment that we all were grateful to be here and with each other. With the people that we worked with, but also who we had cared about. And it felt amazing to have been part of a family, since I didn't really have my own.

My smiles were, however, short lasting, as I watched Dylan glare at me from afar. I was reminded that Dylan always seemed to have something up his sleeve.

It got me thinking again.

Would we really win this?
