Nagisa's POV

Finals.

Grades are everything in Kunugigaoka Junior Highschool! For someone with a bounty of 10 billion yen on his head, who intends to make E a class that no one needs to be ashamed of, these finals are the stage for the last decisive battle of the first semester!!

That's why right now, everyone in class are outside in the forest studying for the finals with Koro-sensei teaching them individually with his duplicates.

"Nurufufufu. Throughout this semester, you've all gotten a strong grasp of the basics. At this rate, you can expect your grades in the finals to jump considerably."

I was leaning on a tree, writing in my notebook, "Koro-sensei, are we all aiming to be in the top 50 this time?" I asked.

"Nope. Last time, Sensei was only worrying about your composite scores. Each student should have a goal suited for him or herself."

He turned to the whole class, "So this time... I have created the perfect objective for this assassination classroom!"

...

...

Everyone looked at him with silence. He noticed Terasaka-kun and started patting his shoulders, "D-don't worry!! It is an objective that will even give Terasaka-kun an opportunity!!"

He took a gun that had anti-sensei bullets in it and aimed it at his tentacle, "Now then, as Shiro-san previously mentioned, losing tentacles make me move slower."

He shot his tentacle, which surprised us all.

"Even if they're only decreased by one, it has a clear effect. Take a look, I am unable to maintain all of my duplicates, so there are child-sized ones mixed in." He said.

We looked, and it was true, there were some child-sized ones mixed in.

"His duplicates can actually shrink like that!?" I thought as I looked at his duplicates.

"Furthermore, if the number is decreased one more," He shot another tentacle. "Take a look. The child duplicate increase all the more... While the parent duplicates worry over how their household will manage."

There were two normal duplicates dressed up as parents and many child-sized ones, playing with each other.

The class all sweat dropped, "This is kinda getting painful..."

"Decrease it by yet another, the father duplicates vanishes into thin air. The mother duplicate is then forced to both work and raise the children herself."

The class all shouted, "That's just depressing!!"

"I've tested it a variety of ways, and each tentacle loss reduces my movement... about 20%."

We all looked at him, wondering why he was telling us all this.

"...And that brings us back to your tests. Last time, you were assessed by your composite score, but this time, you will all be evaluated by your strongest subject, as well."

My strongest subject, huh... Probably English. But I really hate Science, so I'm worried about that...

"On the return of your exam papers, I will allow you to destroy one tentacle for each subject you score the top in your grade."

Destroy one tentacle!?

"I'm sure that you can see that this is a big opportunity for you. If you take top spots in composite score and all five subjects, you will get to destroy 6 tentacles."

All of our faces was showing an expression of disbelief, but at the same time motivated to get a high score.

"This is our assassination classroom's end of term exam. Wether this will bring you all closer to 10 billion yen is dependent on your results."

...This teacher is... honestly good at motivating us.

We all continued our study sessions, more determined to take the top spots.

-Time skip-

We've finished our study session, now walking back to our class. I noticed Karma-kun walking in front of us, and I decided to walk with him.

I caught up with the red-head and began walking beside him, "So, do you think you're gonna take the top spots?" I asked him.

He chuckled, "Heh, will I?"

I looked up to him with a questioning look, "Will you?"

He sighed and pat my head, "Yes, Nagisa. I was being sarcastic."

I smiled, "Oh, I see."

He smiled at me as we continued walking.

When we reached our class, we heard Sugino-kun talking, "Oh hey, Shindou!"

Shindou-san?

We walked over to him, he was talking on his phone, "Haha... You're just as high and mighty as ever..."

He noticed us and put the call on loud speaker, Shindou-san's voice was heard on the other end.

"Class A has gathered in one of the conference rooms. The entirety of Class A is gathered in one place to start a massive independent study session. It's the first time I've seen something like this."

Hearing this made us pretty tense, and we continued listening to him.

"The ones taking lead are known as the 'Five Virtuosos', a group of geniuses who are the pride of this school." He said.

"The Five Virtuosos... I've heard of that name before." I said.

"Ranked 2nd overall on the midterm exams!! His overwhelming ambitions in the media are public knowledge!! The head of the Broadcasting Club, Araki Teppei!! Ranked 3rd overall on the midterm exams!! A shrewd poet who took the fine arts competition by storm!! The Student Council Secretary, Sakakibara Ren!! Ranked 5th overall in the midterm exams!! A demon of memorizing whose vengeance against Akabane, who stole the 4th slot from him, burns like the fire of a thousand suns, the head of the Biology Club, Koyama Natsuhiko!!"

I turned to Karma-kun, who was making his signature devil smirk. I smiled at him and focused my attention back to Shindou-san.

"Ranked 6th overall in the midterm exams!! Despite his personality, his language skills are the real deal!! The student Assembly Chair, Seo Tomoya!!"

Sugino-kun interrupted him, "Erm... Hold on a sec, Shindou. Are you actually narrating all this?"

Shindou-san was heard laughing nervously on the other end, "Oh, y-yeah. I've always wanted to try that sorta thing."

He continued, "And finally... The one who ranked 1st in both midterm and mock exam, the top in one year who rules over the student body..."

We listened closely.

"Sovereignty is in his genes. The Student Council President, Asano Gakushuu, the Board Chairman's one and only son!!"

The Board Chairman's son...

"Asano Gakushuu..." I said.

"When they're together, they're way more competent than some mess of a teacher. Class A's grades are usually excellent, and now they'll improve even more. If this keeps up, Class A's gonna monopolize the top 50 spots. Sugino, these guys don't plan to let any of you in Class E back in the main building."

Sugino-kun smiled, "Thanks for the heads up, Shindou. Even with all the bad mouthing, you're still worried about me."

By now, the whole class was listening to our conversation, looking at Sugino-kun.

"But I'm gonna be fine. Right now... getting out of Class E isn't our main goal. Still, in order to achieve our goal, we've gotta take those high spirits and we're not gonna lose to Class A. Keep watching, 'cause we're gonna work our hardest."

I smiled to Karma-kun, who smiled right back at me.

"Seems like the midterm exams are going to be fun~ And I get to take one tentacle off that octopus!" Karma-kun said.

I smiled at him, "Being too confident isn't good, Karma-kun. Who knows?"

"What about you, Nagisa?" He asked.

"Me? I don't think I'll be able to take the top spots, but I'll do my best."

He hummed in response.

After a moment, Isogai-kun invited us to study in the library after school. Of course, there was no reason to decline, so I agreed.

-Time skip-

Me, Kaede, Rio-chan, Kanzaki-chan, Okuda-chan, and Isogai-kun all sat in one table, and began studying.

Quote-on-quote "studying". Kaede's reading a book on puddings behind a math book.

"Kaede, you should study." I said to her.

She laughed nervously, "H-huh? But I am studying!"

"What do we have here? Oh, if it isn't all of you from Class E!"

We turned to see the Five Virtuosos walking towards our table. Well, Asano-kun wasn't with them.

"What a waste. For you, this library is like casting pearls before swine, isn't it?" Araki-kun said.

Seo-kun brushed has hand to us, "Move it, squirts. Those are our seats."

Kaede became angry, "Wh-what's with you!? Can't you see we're studying!?"

I looked at her, "Kaede. He can see what you're reading, y'know."

"We made all the arrangements to reserve these seats." Isogai-kun explained.

Rio-chan rested her head on the table, "Yup, that's right. Studying with AC after all this time is absolutely heavenly~"

"You lot really have crappy memories. In this school, Class E can't oppose Class A! 'Cause your grades suck." Koyama-kun said.

Okuda-chan shouted, "W... We can too oppose you!!"

"What...?"

"We're aiming to get in the top spot in all the subjects in this exam!! And then we won't let you walk around like you own the place!!"

Okuda-chan...

"Talking back to me, what a brazen woman. Not to mention you look like a hick with those glasses."

Pfft... You yourself are wearing glasses too, you know. But of course, I couldn't say that out loud.

Sakakibara-kun went behind me and Kanzaki-chan, and started touching our hair, "If you only speak disparagingly, you will overlook what lies before you, Koyama. Behold, even a dunghill has its jewels."

Kanzaki-chan didn't seem like he liked what he was doing. Well, of course. I didn't like it as well...

"Such a waste... If only you were better in academics, you would fit me perfectly... Won't you come serve our household as a maid?" He said to Kanzaki-chan.

"N-no... That's..." Kanzaki-chan stuttered.

Kaede looked at her, "Kanzaki-chan really..."

I continued her, "Yeah. She has absolutely no luck with men."

Koyama-kun said, "Wait, if my memory serves me correctly... Saying that all of them are unconditionally bad at academics isn't quite right. Kanzaki Yukiko, ranked 23rd in Japanese on the midterm exams. Nakamura Rio, ranked 11th in English. Isogai Yuuma, ranked 14th in Social Studies. Okuda Manami, ranked 17th in Science."

He bonked Okuda-chan's head a few times, "If it's just one subject we're talking about... The ones you'd probably be against are all gathered here."

Araki-kun pat Isogai-kun's head, "Interesting. Well then, how about this? Whichever of our two classes has the higher number of spots in the dive subjects... can order the losing class to do anything.

Seo-kun put an arm on my shoulder, "What's the matter? You suddenly clam up because you're scared? What, you're only confident on your big mouths? If you'd like, we could even stake our lives on the outcome."

Hearing that, we all quickly put either a pen, a finger, or a ruler on the person behind them's necks.

"I don't think... you should be so quick on offering your lives." I said calmly.

They ran off, "Fi... Fine!! This contest is on!! I'm gonna give you an order so nasty that you'll wish you were dead!!"

We didn't notice, but everyone in the library has been staring at us.

The library rebellion... will soon be known throughout the school. This wager will influence our post-test assassination in a big way.

"You know..." Kaede started. "If Karma-kun was here, I'm pretty sure he'll beat up that Seo and Sakakakibara guys for touching Nagisa like that."

"Yeah, definitely." Isogai-kun agreed.

I laughed, hearing what they said.

So, the Ansatsu Kyoushitsu anime series has finished. And I have to say, it was such an awesome series, one of the best I've seen. I really love Nagisa as a character. Actually, everyone are great characters in my opinion.

It had a great story, and a great ending. It really ties up into a neat bow. Though I am still very disappointed that Karmagisa isn't canon. XD
