Nagisa's POV

Today's the day...

It's Sunday, and Karma-kun's taking me on a date to make up for that... incident in Kyoto.

I'm waiting for him in the park. I took my phone out of my bag and checked the time, 01:20 PM. 10 minutes early...

I kept waiting as I brushed dust off my skirt.

I wasn't wearing anything flashy. Actually, I think I dressed up too casually.

I'm only wearing a black and white striped long-sleeved shirt tucked in a hot pink skirt with an owl necklace. My hair was in the usual pigtails, tied with small pink ribbons. I was also wearing brown boots and black leggings.

That's it, nothing special.

Thinking about the date, I blushed.

W-what should I do!? I'm super nervous!! My heart is beating so fast... Too fast...

What should I do? What should I say? Will he think I'm weird? All these thoughts came rushing to my head.

Okay, keep calm, Nagisa... Breathe in... Breathe out...

Okay, my heart's calmed down a bit...

"Hey, Nagisa,"

There it goes again.

I turned around to see... Yep, It's Karma-kun. He's wearing a red shirt with a black jacket and some jeans.

"Sorry, did I make you wait long?" He asked.

"Nope! It's me who came too early." I laughed.

He started walking, "Well, let's go."

"Yeah!" I replied, following him.

My heart was still beating, and seeing Karma-kun did not help at all...

I looked at Karma-kun. Wow, he seems so calm... I guess he's used to this sort of stuff...

Karma's POV

I am definitely not calm at all.

And I've never took a girl out before... Especially the girl I like... I thought as I walked forward.

My heart was beating fast as I saw Nagisa curiously looking around with big eyes.

She... looked cute today.

After a moment of walking, we found the sweet shop Nagisa was talking about.

She smiled happily, "Ah! There it is!"

We went in and took a place to sit. The place was nice, not too small, not too big, and it's not pink and girly like other sweet shops around here.

I can see why she likes this place.

The waitress gave us the menu.

As Nagisa said, she was gonna have the 'super delicious chocolate cake.' As for me, I went for a tiramisu.

"So you like coffee, Karma-kun? That's a very mature flavor." She asked.

"I guess. I just ordered it because it's not too sweet."

"Hmm..." She hummed.

After a while, our orders came. But, there were three items. Three?

Our orders were there, but there was ice cream in a glass with wafers and syrup.

Nagisa looked confused, "Um, excuse me, we only ordered the chocolate cake and the tiramisu."

The waitress smiled, "Yep, we know. This is free, we give them to couples."

Nagisa's face went red, "C-couples!?"

Besides the entrance door, I noticed a sign that read, "Free ice cream sundae for couples! Limited edition!"

Oh. How did we miss that?

"Yes! Enjoy your desserts!" And she went to another table.

I didn't realize it, but my face was tomato red too.

"U-u-umm... "She stuttered, her face still blushing.

"I-it's okay, just eat it... It'll be a waste to give it back..." I turned my face away.

"O-okay..."

We began eating our cakes. Hey, this stuff is really good. I glanced at Nagisa, who was eating her cake with bliss.

"Delicious~" She put her hand on her cheek.

I just sat there, my head resting on one hand, looking at her.

She seemed to notice this, "You're not gonna eat your tiramisu, Karma-kun?"

"I-I am." I blushed as I continued eating.

After we ate our cakes, we started eating the sundae. Thankfully, there were two spoons.

Although, I wouldn't mind if there was only one-wait what am I saying!?

After the ice cream was finished, I noticed a single strawberry sitting in the corner.

I decided to eat it, so I reached my spoon. Suddenly, a small 'clank' sound was made. She was reaching for it too.

She smiled nervously, "O-oh.. You can have it, Karma-kun."

Our spoons touched...

"You sure?"

"Yeah! I ate most of the ice cream, anyway. Besides, you seem to like strawberry milk." She said as she put her spoon down.

With that, I ate the strawberry. It was sweet. Like he-COUGH. What was I trying to say?

"We better get going." I said.

"Yeah."

I payed for the desserts, since that incident happened. After all, this was to make up for it.

We walked outside, the sun was setting.

She smiled, "The cake was delicious, huh?"

"Yeah."

After a moment of walking, we passed by a toilet. Actually, I think I need to go. Dang it.

"Sorry, Nagisa. I need to go to the toilet."

She looked at me, "Huh? Oh, sure! I'll be waiting here."

I went to the toilet to do my business.

After I was done, I washed my hands. Outside, I heard Nagisa's voice.

"Don't cry, I'm sure she'll come."

Huh? Who's she talking to?

I went outside to see Nagisa patting a small, crying girl, probably about 6 years old.

Nagisa smiled, "Don't worry, Onee-chan will wait here with you!" And she put her on her lap.

"Just keep smiling, okay?"

I don't know why I didn't go out, I just stood there, smiling, watching them.

Not long after that, a woman, who I assume that girl's mother, came.

The woman spoke, "Umi-chan! I'm sorry I made you wait long."

"Mama!" The little girl exclaimed as she ran to her.

"Thank you for waiting with her, I appreciate it. Say thank you, Umi-chan."

The small girl smiled widely, "Thank you, Onee-chan! Um, make sure you keep smiling, too!"

Nagisa nodded, "You're welcome! Goodbye now!"

And they walked away.

Nagisa smiled bitterly as she watched them.

I approached her, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah."

I pat her head, "Let's go home."

She nodded.

As we went home, I could tell she was holding back tears.

"What are you doing?" I stopped walking.

"Huh?" She had tears in the corner of her eyes.

"That girl told you to keep on smiling, right? I don't think she'll like it if she saw you right now."

"..."

She started wiping her tears.

Then, I saw the brightest smile I ever saw on her.

"Yeah!"

And we continued walking towards her house.

Once we reached it, she walked inside the gate, and closed it behind her.

"Thank you for everything, Karma-kun!" She said, and walked to the entrance door to her house.

Suddenly, she stopped walking.

In a blink of an eye, she ran towards me and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

Her face was red, "S-see you tomorrow." And walked in her house.

I took a moment to process what just happened.

My face went red as I touched the spot she kissed.

I was extremely happy...
