Chapter Two: The Accident

Liam's Pov

I sighed, a content smile on my face, as the last episode of Kinnporsche the series ended.

That ending was chaotic but I love the ending. It always brings a smile to my face.

However, my smile faded and turned into an annoyed scowl when I heard snoring from next to me.

I turned around and saw Jack, my best friend and brother in all but blood, sleeping with his head thrown back.

And he was snoring.

I swear to god his snores are so damn loud and annoying.

I seriously don't know how I can handle sharing a room with him. As soon as he falls asleep, he begins to snore.

Groaning in annoyance, I grabbed the remote and turned off the T.V before grabbing a pillow.

"Jack, wake up!" I yelled.

I tossed the pillow at him, causing Jack to yelp in surprise, as he quickly shot up from the couch.

However, he ended up falling off the couch, face planting on the ground.

I burst out laughing, bending forward, clutching my stomach as I laughed harder.

Jack groaned in pain before picking his head up, shooting me an annoyed glare.

"Shut up before I shove my foot down your throat" Jack threatened.

I ignored his threat and continued laughing, I felt my face turning red.

Jack scoffed and rolled his eyes as he sat up from the ground, bringing his hand up to his head to get rid of the pain.

Finally, I stopped laughing and sighed, wiping a small tear that managed to escape my eye.

"Come on, we've been best friends for years. You should've seen that coming" I shrugged.

Jack scoffed and rolled his eyes.

He stood up from the ground and sat back down on the couch, hugging the pillow I threw at him close to his chest.

"Is whatever you were watching over?" Jack asked.

"First of all, it's called Kinnporsche, and yes it is over" I glared at him.

"Thank goodness. Now I don't have to hear you constantly bragging about how great the series is" Jack smiled in relief.

I stuck my tongue at him, something I've always done, resulting in him scoffing.

"For your information, this series is amazing" I defended.

And that's 100% true.

If you watch the series too, I know you feel the same way I do.

"Yes, nothing is more fun than watching a mafia boss force a bartender to be his bodyguard, cause him pain and then fall in love with him" Jack sarcastically smiled.

"Oh, so you do pay attention?" I mockingly asked.

I'm surprised he even knows what the series is about.

Whenever I force him to watch it with me, he's either fast asleep or on his phone playing video games.

Or if I'm too focused on whatever episode I'm watching, he uses that as his opportunity to escape.

"I pay attention to the interesting parts. If there isn't anything interesting, I'm bored" Jack shrugged.

I huffed in annoyance and crossed my arms.

Jack chuckled in amusement before placing the pillow back where it originally was.

"Well, you're done binge watching all the episodes, this is like the third time" Jack deadpanned.

"Oh, it's a problem whenever I want to binge watch whatever BL series I enjoy. But whenever I complain about you binge watching Spongebob, that's a problem?" I asked in annoyance.

I watched in amusement as Jack jumped off the couch, pointing a finger at me.

"Hey! Spongebob is my childhood, you have no right to complain about my taste in shows!" Jack yelled.

I raised an eyebrow at him but he just continued to glare at me.

I rolled my eyes in annoyance before taking my phone out.

I looked at the time and saw that it wasn't too late.

"Well, since I'm done with the series, do you want something to eat?" I asked.

"Hell yes. I've been sitting on this couch for 5 hours because you dragged me to watch the remaining episodes of your series" Jack groaned.

I chuckled while Jack glared at me.

"Well, what do you want?" I asked.

"I'm craving pizza. But I also want Chinese" Jack hummed.

"Well, we had pizza yesterday, so maybe we should get Chinese" I suggested.

"Yeah, probably for the best" Jack nodded.

He shrugged his shoulders as he took out his car keys.

"Shall we?" Jack asked.

"Hey, why don't you stay here and pick out a movie for us? I'll get the food" I smiled.

Jack's eyes widened and he immediately shook his head.

I frowned when he literally clutched the keys tightly in his hands, refusing to let them go.

"Uh, what's wrong?" I asked.

"Listen, Liam, don't take this the wrong way, but you're not the best at driving" Jack said.

I let out an offended squeak at that, earning a sigh from him.

"Excuse me! I'll have you know that I'm a great driver" I argued.

"Liam, whenever you drive you always end up crashing into something. Whether it's a mailbox, a trash can or a fire hydrant, you crash into something" Jack explained.

"That's not true, name one time-" I started, only for him to cut me off.

"A month ago, we were going to visit my parents, you were struggling to park and you crashed into their mailbox" Jack deadpanned.

"Well-" I started, only to get cut off.

"How about four weeks ago? We were going to the supermarket and you crashed into a shopping cart, knocking over a teenager in the process" Jack deadpanned.

I'll never forget the scary and overprotective mother that yelled at me because of that.

Mom's are scary when their child is hurt or in any danger.

"But-" I started, only to get cut off.

"Oh, and lets not forget two days ago, we were leaving the club and you crashed into someone else's car, wrecking the back of it" Jack finished, glaring at me.

I flinched slightly at the reminder, fiddling with my fingers.

"But at least nobody was inside the car" I defended.

"The owner of the car almost called the cops on us because you decided to pick a fight with him" Jack deadpanned.

"Hey, I was trying to apologize and he was being difficult" I defended.

"By taking off your shoe and hitting him with it?" Jack asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

If the owner of the stupid car hadn't shoved me, I wouldn't have taken my shoe off.

"I was a little drunk" I weakly smiled.

"How is gulping down 6 beer bottles considered 'a little' drunk?" Jack asked, crossing his arms.

"I drank water after that" I weakly defended.

Jack sighed in exasperation, running a hand through his hair.

"Thank god I ended up driving us home" Jack muttered.

I huffed in annoyance, stuffing my hands into my pocket.

"Look, I know I'm clumsy when it comes to driving, but I do have my license to drive. And I have been getting better at it" I explained.

"I don't know" Jack sighed, still unsure.

"Look, Jack, I'll be extra careful while driving. I promise" I said.

"Liam..." Jack trailed off.

"Come on, Jack. I can drive to the Chinese place, order the usual, come back and we can eat while watching a movie" I explained.

Jack bit his lip, clearly debating inside his head whether he should let me go or not.

Please say yes. Please say yes. Please say yes.

Finally, he let out a defeated sigh and slowly nodded his head.

"Alright, alright, fine. You can drive and get the food" Jack said.

"Hell yeah!" I yelled, clearly happy.

Jack sighed before handing me his keys, which I gracefully took.

"Be safe, don't crash into anything and please don't start a fight with someone" Jack sternly said.

"Aye aye, captain" I sarcastically grinned.

Jack flipped me off, which I returned, and the two of us burst out laughing.

When we calmed down, I patted his shoulder before grabbing my jacket and heading out the door.

I heard Jack sigh in exasperation, he muttered something, but I ignored it and continued walking as I closed the door.

An Hour Later

I'm really proud of myself.

As soon as I got in the car I drove to the Chinese place, without crashing into anything.

As soon as I parked in front of the Chinese place, I parked the car, got inside and ordered our food.

I paid and left, I placed the food inside the car, I got myself inside the car and drove off.

This shows that I'm an excellent driver. I've gotten really better, this just proves it.

Ha! In your face, Jack!

Speaking of Jack, I should call him, brag to him that I've been doing good so far.

But, I'll still keep my eyes on the road, I'm not careless or irresponsible.

After a few rings, Jack answered.

"Oh, please don't tell me you crashed into a cop's car and got arrested" Jack sighed.

"I swear to god the faith you have in me is unbelievable" I scoffed.

"You're Liam Santiago, my best friend and brother in all but blood since forever, I know how you are" Jack scoffed.

I huffed in annoyance and rolled my eyes.

"No, I didn't crash into anything and I haven't been arrested. I got the food and I'm driving back now" I explained.

"Hallelujah" Jack sighed in relief.

"Hey, even if I did get arrested, you'd bail me out. Right?" I asked.

"Debatable" Jack said.

"Asshole" I muttered.

"You love me" I could feel Jack smirking.

I huffed and rolled my eyes but I didn't say anything.

It's true, but I'm not going to say that out loud, his ego is big enough as it is.

"But wait, why did it take that long to get the food? It usually takes 10 minutes" Jack asked, confused.

"There was a long line when I got there, so it took a while" I said.

"Well, how far are you?" Jack asked.

"I'm not sure. The usual route I take when returning is blocked for some reason, so I'm taking a different route" I explained.

"Liam, is that safe?" Jack asked, clear worry shown in his tone.

"Hopefully" I chuckled.

"Liam, I'm being serious" Jack sternly said.

I fondly rolled my eyes, a fond smile shown on my face.

He's always been overprotective over me, especially when my parents died.

"Jack, buddy, relax. I'll be fine. I'm not going to take my eyes off the road or get distracted" I reassured him.

"Look, I trust you, but please be safe. It's late at night and you never know what can happen" Jack sighed.

"Don't worry. I'll be fine. Besides, I should be there in 15 minutes, the latest, 20 minutes" I said.

"Good. I'm hungry and I've already picked out a movie for us to watch" Jack said.

"I swear to god if you make me watch IT, again, I'll put on another BL series for us to watch" I warned.

"You forced me to watch Kinnporsche with you, this is payback" Jack defended.

"Kinnporsche is a good series. All the characters, well some of them, are great" I argued.

"Whatever you say" Jack sighed.

"Fine, we'll watch IT. But I swear to god if you try and scare me like last time, I will..." I trailed off.

I gasped and my eyes widened when I heard a loud noise go off. I turned around and saw a truck speeding towards me.

And from what I could see, the driver was passed out.

"Liam? Are you ok?" Jack asked.

I couldn't answer him. Too focused on the truck that was speeding towards me.

I turned the wheel, trying to avoid the truck, but looks like luck wasn't on my side today.

The truck had been faster than I thought and managed to hit the front of the car, causing it to spin around like crazy.

I screamed and lost control of the wheel. The car made impact with the truck while spinning around.

The windows broke and I screamed, shielding myself, trying to avoid getting hit by the glass flying around.

"Liam! What's going on?!" Jack yelled.

I screamed even more when the car tipped forward.

My seatbelt loosened and I felt myself fly upwards, my head hitting the top surface of the car, causing me to groan.

My body jolted to the side and my head hit one of the broken windows. I felt some glass piercing through my head.

The car landed, upside down, and I felt myself dropping to the ground with a loud thud.

I hissed in pain, my back landed on one of the broken windows, I felt more broken glass and hard rocks.

God...I was in so much pain right now.

"LIAM! LIAM! ANSWER ME!" I heard Jack scream.

I tried crawling out of the car, trying to get help, but I hissed in absolute pain and dropped back to the ground.

I looked down, my vision was blurry, but I could clearly see a huge piece of glass pierced through my leg.

Shit...

"Jack" I whispered, my voice clearly weak.

I'm surprised I could still speak, given that state I was in.

"LIAM! STAY AWAKE! I'M CALLING AN AMBULANCE RIGHT NOW!" Jack screamed, again.

My head hurts, my leg hurts, my body hurts. Everything fucking hurts.

I felt blood dripping from not only my lips, but from my head too.

"I-I f-feel tired" I muttered.

That wasn't a lie.

I was in pain, yes, but I also felt really tired.

My eyes slowly fluttered close, I could vaguely hear Jack desperately screaming my name, reassuring me that an ambulance was on their way.

I doubt an ambulance would be able to save me right now.

I really should've just listened to Jack and let him drive instead of going myself.

I felt myself slowly slip away and the only thing I could think of is my mom and dad.

At least I'll finally be reunited with my parents...

If only I had known that that wouldn't be the case...
