Chapter Thirteen: Roommates & Shootings

Liam's Pov

I made sure to stick by Porsche's side the entire time, especially after he made enemies out of Big and Ken.

Honestly, I should've seen that coming, although I was really hoping I could change that.

Big and Ken were showing us around and Porsche and I stared at everything in awe.

First, they took us to the pool area, where a few bodyguards were already training.

"All bodyguards must strictly follow the training schedule and must pass the standard tests every month" Big explained.

Then we were taken to the shooting range.

"This is the main family's shooting range. Shooting skill is the most important skill of all bodyguards" Big explained.

Next, it was the gym.

Not only was I excited to work out here, I was excited to wear the track suits, they look cool.

"Strength and conditioning is a big deal. There's no room here for anyone who's out of shape" Ken explained.

That makes sense.

Bodyguards must always stay in shape, especially during missions where they need to fight hand to hand combat.

Thank god dad always taught me hand to hand combat and made sure I was always in shape.

They led us to the elevator, most definitely to take us to the area where the other bodyguards are at.

The elevator started going up as they resumed talking.

"The first rule, all bodyguards must station here. We can only go out when we're on missions" Big explained.

Porsche nodded, staring forward, while I frowned.

"Will we be able to visit our brother? Just to make sure he's alright and settling in" I asked.

The last thing I want is for Chay to think we're neglecting him because of this job.

Porsche's eyes widened at the mention of Chay and he turned to the two bodyguards.

Big spared Porsche a glance before looking at me, his eyes softening a little.

"Don't worry. According to Mr. Korn, you guys will have the opportunity to see your brother whenever you want. And, only if he's comfortable, he can sometimes come here. You know, if he needs help or there's an issue" Big explained.

I sighed in relief as Porsche nodded, looking relieved as well.

I jumped slightly when the elevator stopped, we've arrived at our stop.

We all got off the elevator and were now in the room where the rest of the bodyguards are.

"Hey, the new guys are here" Big announced to everyone.

They all stopped what they were doing and turned to look at us.

Their stern expressions, not including Pol, were a little intimidating but I know that deep down they're softies.

Maybe not all of them, but some definitely are.

Porsche stood where he was, quite awkwardly, and just looked around.

While I smiled politely at everyone and wai'd politely.

It was silent for a good few seconds before we heard ringing.

My eyes widened slightly and I saw Porsche taking his phone out, answering the call from Jom.

"Why are you calling me now, Jom? You know I'm working now" Porsche asked.

I should've seen that coming.

But what the hell does Jom need? We literally told him and Tem what they had to do before we left.

I flinched slightly when Big snatched the phone from Porsche, catching him completely off guard.

Porsche glared at Big and tried getting his phone back, only for Big to back away from him.

"The second rule, all kinds of personal devices are not allowed. Except when you're out on a mission. If you have to make an urgent call, use the central phone" Big explained.

We turned around and saw Pol using the central phone.

His eyes locked on us and he smiled and waved, causing me to wave back at him.

"Each call can last no more than ten minutes. And all conversations will be recorded" Ken added.

Now I'm glad I left my phone with Tem and Jom back at the house.

The last thing I want is for them to monitor my calls or my messages.

Especially in regards to my second job. I still want that to be kept a secret.

Ken got a little too close to Porsche, a pointed look aimed at him, causing Porsche to glare at him.

I stepped closer to my brother, ready to stop an argument from breaking out between the three of them.

"Is this the bodyguards residence or a prison?" Porsche sarcastically asked.

"Porsche. Calm down" I sternly said.

"Listen to your brother and watch your mouth" Ken sternly said.

Porsche spared me a glance before turning towards Ken, the glare returning.

"No, you watch your mouth" Porsche talked back.

Oh dear god...

"They let me be in charge of you, and you too" Porsche reminded, pointing at Ken and Big.

"Porsche, come on, stop" I scolded.

They already hate him because of what happened with Korn, why is he trying to make them hate him more?

I grabbed his arm and tried pulling him away from Ken, but he didn't budge.

"Asshole!" Ken yelled, anger clear in his tone.

He raised his fist and tried swinging at Porsche, but Porsche managed to duck in time.

Porsche didn't stop there and he pulled Ken's pants down.

Big's eyes widened while the bodyguards watched on in shock.

I had to bite the inside of my cheek to stop myself from laughing.

Porsche began laughing, quite happily, while Ken's eyes widened as he was quick to pull his pants back up.

"What is wrong with you?!" Ken yelled.

Porsche didn't stop laughing, he was clearly enjoying what he had done.

However, the laughter stopped when Big pulled out his gun, aiming it at my brother.

"Hey! We're not on the street. Leave your old habits out there!" Big angrily yelled.

I quickly got in between them, raising my hands in surrender.

"Hey! Hey! Stop! Please, everyone just please calm down!" I yelled.

I know Big wouldn't pull the trigger, but a gun aimed at my brother is definitely scary.

I just wanted to diffuse the situation, trying not to start anything.

Although, I wasn't prepared for what happened next.

Porsche stood next to me and quickly shoved me, quite harshly, away from him and Big.

I tripped and tried catching myself, only to smash into one of the beams.

I made a hard impact and dropped to the ground with a loud thud.

Almost instantly, the guards rose from where they were sitting and their eyes turned to Porsche.

Big's eyes widened, clearly in disbelief at what happened, and he got a little distracted.

Porsche reached for Big's gun while Big tried twisting his arm, to which he elbowed him in the face causing him to stumble.

However, Big kicked him in the stomach, causing my brother to fall to the ground, landing on his back.

Damn, even with his arm in a cast he can still fight.

Ha! I was right!

The bodyguards all aimed their guns at Porsche, Big had taken his other one out and aimed it at Porsche.

I groaned and placed my hand on my head, already feeling a headache coming on.

Ken, after getting over what happened, ran towards me and crouched at my side.

"Are you alright?" Ken asked, worry shown in his eyes.

"I think so" I managed to say.

Big glanced at me, I swear I saw some worry in his eyes, before turning back to my brother.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Big yelled, glaring down at Porsche.

That's what I would like to know as well.

Porsche looked up at him, glancing at all the bodyguards that were glaring at him before releasing the gun.

He glanced at me but I just looked away from him.

Ken gently grabbed my arm and pulled me off the ground.

I still had my hand on my head, trying to ignore the headache I felt, my other hand was holding onto Ken's arm.

"Hey!" Chan yelled.

Everyone turned around and saw Chan walking in, causing them to retreat and put their guns away.

Big swallowed thickly before setting his gun down, going back to professional and stern.

Chan walked further into the room and stopped in the middle, his eyes glancing at everyone.

"The third rule is..." Chan trailed off, turning to Big.

"All bodyguards must be at peace. No arguments nor fights. We don't like chaos" Big sternly said.

Chan furrowed his eyebrows at him and took a step closer, making Big look down in shame.

He placed his hands on the collar of his shirt, fixing it before his eyes met Big's eyes.

"You do know" Chan nodded.

Am I the only one that senses some tension between those two?

"This is not a playground. If you think about working here, you must know all the rules by heart. Understood?" Chan sternly asked.

He was directing that to everyone, but his eyes were locked on Porsche and Big.

Porsche just looked anywhere but him while Big gritted his teeth, but nodded.

Chan then turned around and his eyes met mine, his eyebrows furrowing just a little.

"Liam, are you alright?" Chan asked, his tone softening ever so slightly.

I sighed and pulled away from Ken, no longer feeling too dizzy.

"I'm fine" I nodded.

I wasn't lying. The headache had left a while after.

Chan nodded before looking at everyone else.

"Everyone, back to work" Chan demanded.

Nobody hesitated to do as told.

I patted Ken's shoulder and nodded at Big and the other bodyguards before walking towards my brother.

"Porsche. Liam. Come with me" Chan said.

He began walking and we followed behind him.

Porsche placed his hand on my shoulder, I looked at him and smiled faintly, as my way of telling him I'm fine.

Chan kept on walking until we reached the tailor room.

"This is the tailor room for all bodyguards" Chan started off with.

Porsche and I nodded as Chan led us over to where the doctors were.

"And if you're lucky to survive from getting shot, there are doctors and nurses here to take care of you 24/7" Chan explained.

I wai'd at the doctors and they wai'd back, shooting Porsche and I polite smiles.

"But, if either of you die, so be it" Chan patted us on our shoulders.

Porsche's eyes widened at that while I frowned and shook my head.

That's not going to happen. That's for sure.

A Few Minutes Later

After the tour was over Chan had led us to separate rooms where we'd be sharing with someone else.

Porsche will of course be rooming with Pete, but I'm curious as to who my roommate will be.

Just as long as they're nice and not a stuck up asshole, we should be fine.

I do hate the fact that Porsche and I can't be roommates, given that we're brothers, but it is what it is.

Taking a deep breath, I opened the door and walked inside my new room, closing the door behind me.

I was soon met with a guy, who looked around the age of 27, sitting on his bed while reading.

Having heard the door opening, he looked up from his book and his eyes widened slightly when he saw me.

He set his book down but he didn't get up from his bed.

"Hello. My name is Liam Kittisawat, your new roommate" I politely wai'd.

The guy looked a little taken aback by my politeness, but he shook his head and offered me a kind smile.

"It's nice to meet you. My name is Pravat" the guy, Pravat, introduced himself.

"Very nice to meet you too, Pravat" I smiled.

"Do you need any help unpacking?" Pravat asked.

"If you don't mind. I just need to hang up my clothes and put my shoes away" I said.

"Of course" Pravat nodded.

He stood up from his bed and walked towards me, he took my suitcase and set it down on my new bed.

He opened it up and began taking out some clothes while I took out the rest, along with my shoes.

Thankfully the list was hidden somewhere safely in my suitcase, so no need to worry there.

After that was done, I closed up my suitcase and slid it down under my bed.

I sighed and sat down on my bed, smiling when Pravat did the same.

"Forgive me if I sound rude, but you had lots of clothes" Pravat said.

"I didn't think I packed that much stuff. I just packed the things I would need" I argued.

"Did you pack your entire closet?" Pravat sarcastically asked.

I shot him a glare and huffed while he let out an amused laugh.

When his laughter died down, he crossed his arms over his chest.

"So, you're the famous Liam Kittisawat, someone all the bodyguards tend to gossip about" Pravat hummed.

Huh...?

The bodyguards gossip about me, why?

"Why are they gossiping about me?" I asked, confused.

"You and your brother, Porsche, are all everyone talks about here. We've all seen the video footage that night you helped Mr. Kinn in the alleyway. You both are excellent fighters" Pravat explained.

"That doesn't explain why I'm the main gossip?" I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Well, you and your brother are both interesting, but you're the most interesting. Everyone knows about you aiming a gun at Mr. Kinn when he showed up at your work place. The way you threatened him with no fear, the way you seemed to impress him, that's what has everyone talking" Pravat explained.

My eyes widened slightly at that.

Everyone knows about what I did when Kinn showed up at Hum's bar.

I mean, I know there was a handful of bodyguards that night, but it wasn't like everyone was present.

"I'm not that interesting. And, I only aimed the gun at him because I refused to get kidnapped. Especially knowing who he is" I defended.

"I understand. But, you defended yourself against him and talked back to him too. Respectfully, that is. The bodyguards here admire the way you speak up for yourself and they admire how much love you show for your brothers" Pravat explained.

I smiled softly at the mention of my brothers.

"Well, what can I say? They mean the world to me, I refuse to let anything happen to them" I softly said.

"I know. I also admire you for that" Pravat softly smiled.

"I can tell you and I are going to be great friends" I grinned.

"I hope so" Pravat grinned back.

We both let out laughs at that, enjoying the fun time as we were getting to know each other.

"Hey, Liam" Ken's voice could be heard inside the room.

Pravat and I turned around and saw Ken inside, holding the bodyguard uniform.

"Get changed and meet up with Porsche in the kitchen" Ken said.

"Sure thing" I nodded.

Ken nodded back and set the uniform on the bed before leaving the room.

"Well, wish me luck for my first task" I sighed, standing up from the bed.

"Good luck" Pravat grinned.

I chuckled before heading to the bathroom to change into my new uniform.

At The Kitchen

After changing into my uniform I met with Porsche in the kitchen and we were waiting for Aunty to bring the drinks.

We waited for a few minutes before she arrived with the drinks.

"Here you go. Bring it. Mr. Kinn is waiting at the shooting range" Aunty said.

I smiled and nodded while Porsche looked downright confused.

"We're his bodyguards. Do we need to call someone to bring it for him?" Porsche asked.

Aunty frowned and opened her mouth to speak, only for me to speak first.

"Porsche, it's just that, we're his bodyguards. We're newbies and this is our first task" I reminded him.

Porsche's eyes widened slightly in realization while Aunty smiled at me.

"Your brother gets it. But, don't worry, you will too" Aunty politely smiled.

With that, she walked away to head back to work.

Porsche looked downright annoyed at what our first task is while I was just neutral.

I mean, we're newbies, we're not going to go on a mission right away when we still have to train.

I was about to pick the tray up, only to stop when I saw Porsche picking up the wasabi.

"Porsche, put the wasabi down, now" I sternly said.

"Oh come on, Liam. Let me have fun and mess around with eyebrows for a little bit" Porsche whined.

"Hia, may I remind you that we're working. The last thing I want is for either of us to get in trouble" I sternly said.

"But, Liam-" Porsche started but I cut him off.

"Hia, just put the wasabi down and help me carry the drinks" I sternly said.

Porsche huffed in annoyance before throwing the wasabi away.

I smiled in satisfaction before grabbing the tray and walked towards the shooting range with Porsche behind me.

Once we stepped into the room I had to bite back a smile when I saw Kinn, Tae and Time shooting at the targets.

Actually, the smile was more for Tae than Time.

Porsche glared at Kinn, ignoring the other two, and walked over to stand by the wall.

I nodded at Kinn and his friends as I set the tray down before walking over to Porsche.

Tae noticed us first and his eyebrows furrowed together, his eyes gleaming slightly out of curiosity.

"Who are they? Your new guys?" Tae asked.

That we definitely are.

"They seem like your type" Tae added.

"No thank you" I muttered.

Porsche snorted quietly in amusement, making me chuckle.

"My papa brought them in. Their names are Porsche and Liam Kittisawat, they're brothers. You can use them all you want" Kinn said.

"Asshole" Porsche scoffed under his breath.

Tae hummed and nodded while Time leaned closer to Kinn.

"Tell your papa to find me one. Especially someone that looks like him" Time smirked, his eyes trailing up and down my body.

Porsche stiffened and scooted closer to my side protectively.

I rolled my eyes and tried to refrain myself from punching the asshole in the nose.

I seriously don't know why Tae doesn't leave his cheating ass and find someone better.

The three of them sat down as Time reassured his upset boyfriend that he was just 'kidding'.

"I'll tell my papa for you. In exchange of you telling your papa that I want to expand my business to Thonglor area" Kinn explained.

"Whoa, this you need to go talk to Tae's dad. That's his old area" Time said.

Kinn hummed as Time leaned back against his seat.

"When I crashed my car, he cleared it off. The whole thing went silent" Time grinned.

Kinn chuckled and shook his head in amusement.

I'd love for a car to crash into him. That'll give me all the satisfaction I need.

"You guys are a bunch of asses" Porsche muttered.

Kinn, a little, Tae is a sweetheart but Time is the biggest asshole ever.

The three of them heard what he said and their heads snapped towards them.

"What did you say?" Kinn asked, his tone changing into a serious one.

Porsche jumped, clearly not expecting that, and he actually started panicking.

To save my brother from getting in trouble, I stepped in myself and made an excuse.

"We were talking about our uncle and he said he's an asshole. And believe me, there's no lie in that" I grinned.

Porsche smiled at me, clearly relieved to have been saved, and nodded at what I said.

Time laughed loudly while Tae chuckled in amusement.

Kinn stared at us for a few seconds before nodding his head, somewhat buying the lie.

"I like this one" Tae gestured towards me.

"So do I" Time smirked, winking at me.

I scrunched my nose up in disgust and rolled my eyes, simply turning away from him.

The three of them grabbed their drinks and I didn't need to worry since I stopped Porsche from putting the wasabi.

I saved him from that embarrassment.

After they finished their drinks and some of their snacks they went back to shooting.

Porsche remained silent, clearly bored out of his mind, while I just laid my back against the wall.

I calmly played with my necklace, trying to drown out the noises of the gun shootings, playing with my necklace always keeps me calm.

And it's the only thing I have left of Jack's. It make me feel like he's still with me.

God, I miss him so much...

I snapped out of my thoughts when Kinn stopped shooting and spoke up.

"I think paper targets are boring" Kinn fake pouted.

He turned around, locking eyes with me and Porsche.

"Hey, put an apple over there" Kinn ordered.

I sighed and went to grab the apple, only for Kinn to stop me.

"No. Not you. I want Porsche to set the apple" Kinn sternly said.

My eyes widened and I turned to Porsche, just in time to see him rolling his eyes.

He gestured for me to go back where I was and I reluctantly did and watched him grab the apple.

I thought I could change the outcome and be the one to get the apple shot off my head.

But, it looks like a few things are meant to stay the same.

"So, where should I put it?" Porsche asked.

"On your head" Kinn smirked.

Oh dear god...

Porsche tensed up, looking at Kinn like he grew two heads.

"That's a nice joke" Time snorted.

Trust me, I wish it was a damn joke.

"I'm for real" Kinn sternly said, not taking his eyes off Porsche.

I bit the inside of my cheek and looked at my brother, who only had an emotionless expression on his face.

"What are you waiting for? Or are you scared?" Kinn mockingly asked.

I'd like to see him put an apple on his head and someone shoot that off.

Porsche, obviously taking offence to what he had said, swallowed thickly before slowly putting the apple on his head.

I clenched my fist at my side as I tried my best to drown down my anxiety.

"Kinn, are you being serious?" Tae asked in disbelief.

He glanced at me while saying that, looking worried considering it's my brother that has the apple on his head.

I know Kinn won't kill Porsche and does aim directly at the apple, but that doesn't stop me from being scared.

Especially when I'm witnessing this in person, not on a screen.

Kinn ignored Tae and lifted his gun, aiming it at the apple.

I jumped, clearly startled, when Kinn pulled the trigger and the apple was destroyed.

I released a shaky breath I had been holding for a while, feeling my knees grow a tad bit weak.

Porsche remained emotionless, showing no fear or anything, he just stood there.

Kinn nodded before setting his gun down, turning to look at his two friends.

"Come on, lets have a meal" Kinn suggested.

Tae and Time both stared at Kinn in disbelief, I swear I saw some anger in his eyes.

"You two. Make me a coffee and bring it to the living room" Kinn ordered.

Kinn gestured for Tae and Time to follow him and they did, shooting Porsche and I few glances.

When they were gone I rushed towards my brother. And just in time too.

Porsche'e knees buckled and I wrapped my arms around him, holding him as we sunk to the ground together.

Porsche wrapped his arms around me, his breathing was harsh and his shoulders were shaking.

He wasn't crying, he was just scared at what had just occurred.

"Hia, hia, are you ok?" I worriedly asked.

I'm stupid for asking that, already knowing what his answer is going to be.

Porsche merely shook his head, holding onto me like I was his lifeline.

"I. Fucking. Hate. Him!" Porsche downright growled.

Anger was shown as he spoke each and everyone of those words.

And this time, I couldn't bring myself to scold him because I agreed with him.
