Chapter Seven: Here We Go
Nobody's Pov
Flashback
It was late at night, the only thing you can hear were the crickets.
A teenage boy was at the cemetery, crouched in front of two headstones, tears streaming down his cheeks.
His sobs had stopped but the tears hadn't. His eyes were red and his cheeks were puffy.
The boy wore a black suit and black shoes, clutching onto something with his hands.
"Liam" another voice spoke.
The boy was Liam Santiago, 15 years old, crouched in front of his parents headstone.
Their funeral had finished hours ago, they were buried hours ago but he never left.
He couldn't leave. Not yet.
Liam didn't need to turn around when he already knew the voice that had said his name.
It was his best friend, his brother in all but blood and his platonic soulmate. Jack Baker.
"What are you doing here?" Liam asked.
Jack sighed as he crouched down next to his best friend, his eyes staring at the headstones in front of them.
"I never left. I knew you wanted some alone time so I just stood off to the side" Jack explained.
"Doing absolutely nothing?" Liam asked.
"I played games on my phone, texted my parents and reassured them that I'd stay with you and bring you home when you're ready to leave" Jack explained.
"I'm not going home" Liam sighed.
"Yes you are. Remember, you're-" Jack started, only to get cut off.
"Jack, please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm going to your home. Not my home. I want to go to my home, the home I grew up in, but I can't. Not anymore" Liam explained.
Jack's eyes widened in realization and he let out a soft sigh.
Now he knew why Liam didn't want to leave the cemetery after the funeral ended and the two caskets containing the two bodies were buried.
Two reasons.
He wasn't ready to leave his parents.
And he wasn't ready to say goodbye to his home in order to go to his new home.
Liam looked down at his hands and gently unfolded them in order to reveal what he had been clutching.
Rings. Wedding rings, to be exact.
It belonged to his parents.
It was the only thing he had left of them.
"They're gone, Jack" Liam whispered.
But given how quiet it was, Jack still heard him.
"I know, buddy" Jack frowned.
Liam slowly turned his head around to look at his best friend and more tears gathered in his eyes.
"They're gone" Liam whimpered.
He sniffled as more tears streamed down his face.
"Oh my god. They're never coming back" Liam sobbed loudly.
His hands clutched onto the rings tightly as he lowered his head, clenching his eyes shut, letting more tears fall.
Jack, without hesitation, wrapped his arms around Liam and brought him into a tight hug.
Liam dropped his head onto Jack's shoulder and cried and sobbed.
Jack sighed and rubbed the back of his best friend, his brother, up and down as he did his best to comfort him.
He hated seeing him like this. He hated seeing him so broken.
Jack hates that this had to happen to Liam of all people, but there's nothing he or anyone can do.
Because Stella and Lincoln Santiago, the loving parents of Liam Santiago, are dead.
And they aren't coming back.
Flashback Ends
Liam's Pov
My eyes shot open and I shot up from the bed, feeling lots of sweat sliding down my face.
I took in my surroundings and found myself in Chay's room, my little brother sleeping peacefully.
I remember that Chay had a nightmare and begged me to sleep with him so he could fall asleep better.
I agreed because, come on, I would never pass up the opportunity to cuddle with this adorable bean.
I frowned before looking at the time, it was six in the morning.
A sigh escaped my lips and I buried my face into my hands, groaning slightly.
I had a flashback of that day. The day after my parents funeral.
I remember having them back in my world, sometimes during school or whenever Jack and I were hanging out.
It stopped years ago, but I guess they've returned.
That's just great.
I removed my hands from my face and grabbed my phone that was lying on Chay's bedside table.
The second my eyes landed on the date, a small grin appeared on my face.
Today is the day everything begins.
Today is the day Porsche and Kinn meet.
I've been waiting for this day ever since I woke up in this world.
However, I've already changed a few things ever since I got here, so I wonder if anything has been affected because of it.
I hope not.
But, the downside is that I have to wait until later tonight, so that sucks.
But, trust me, it'll be worth it.
I put my phone back where it was and laid back down, it's still early and I'm still tired.
I let out a slight groan when Chay turned around and practically threw himself on top of me.
"Hia, what time is it?" Chay groggily asked.
"It's still early, nong. Go back to sleep" I softly said.
Chay hummed and nodded, burying his head into my chest while wrapping his arms around me.
I placed a soft kiss to his head and patted his shoulder before closing my eyes, drifting off to sleep.
In The Morning
I managed to pull away from a very clingy Chay and leave his bedroom and make my way downstairs.
I stretched my arms a little before making my way into the kitchen.
I opened the fridge and smiled at how it was no longer empty, now it was filled with lots of stuff that'll last us for a while.
I have zero regrets about getting that second job as a stripper because the money I make is completely different from the money I make as a bartender.
Thanks to that job, Porsche and I were able to put our money together and it was enough to pay off Arthee's debt.
And because we paid it off, we not only got to keep this house, but we got the loan sharks off our backs.
I even threatened them if they dared to come after us.
"My brothers and I have no interest in what our useless uncle gets himself into. We don't associate with him anymore. If you wish to go after him because of whatever debt he owes, that's fine, but don't come after us. If I see any of you near my brothers, I'll make sure you suffer a slow and painful death"
I swear the fear in their eyes made me smirk.
And the way Porsche stared at me with nothing but pride made me very happy.
I grabbed a packet of cookies and the milk carton before closing the fridge.
I set the stuff on the table before grabbing an empty cup from one of the cabinets.
"Liam?" the voice of my brother could be heard.
"In the kitchen" I answered him.
I poured milk into the cup as I heard the footsteps get closer and closer.
Before I knew it, a tired Porsche with slight messy hair walked into the kitchen.
"Did you just wake up?" Porsche asked.
"Yeah. I was just about to eat breakfast" I shrugged.
"Cookies and milk?" Porsche asked in slight amusement.
"I don't want anything extravagant. Besides, there's nothing wrong with cookies and milk" I defended.
"I can't lie on that" Porsche chuckled.
Ever since we paid off the debt and got the loan sharks off our backs, Porsche has been alot more relaxed.
He no longer has to worry about them coming to trash our home or hurting any of us.
He can relax. We can all relax.
Well...our relaxation is going to end later tonight, but there's no need to tell either of my brothers that.
Porsche made his way to the fridge to put the milk back and find something for himself.
My phone rang and I picked it up. I turned it on and smiled when I saw it was a message from Emma in the group chat.
I've gotten extremely close with the others at my second job.
One night when we were closing up, Emma suggested we exchange numbers and make a group chat.
Of course, we all agreed.
After all, we're best friends for a reason.
Group chat name: The Chaotic Eight
Emma: Good morning, bitches!
Sami: Bitch, it's nine in the morning and we don't work today, let me sleep!
Sarla: You still sleep at this hour? I go to bed late and I still wake up early
Arak: Sarla, something is wrong with you if you sleep late and STILL wake up early
Ram: Agreed
Dan: Agreed
Champ: Agreed
Sarla: Oh shut up!
A snort escaped my lips and I shook my head in amusement.
Liam: Honestly there's something wrong with all of us if we're all awake at this hour
Champ: He has a point. It was packed last night and we all worked our asses off until three in the morning
Emma: It's like Mr. Anurak always says, the place gets packed at night
Sarla: The only reason it was packed last night was because a bachelor party was being held
Sami: I swear to god I wanted to rip one guy's balls off because they were staring at me with disgusting lust
I swear Sarla and Champ had to drag Sami away since she was ready to lunge at that guy.
Emma, Arak, Ram and Dan were laughing their asses off while placing a few bets.
Mr. Anurak and I were amused but also a little tired.
Sami: I'm just glad we don't have to work today. I need more of my beauty sleep
Ram: I wouldn't call it beauty sleep when you look the same every morning
Sami: Asshole! Take that back!
Ram: Not gonna happen
Sarla: Oh god, it's the frozen yogurt incident all over again
Dan: Oh please don't remind me. I'm still haunted by that day
"You seem busy, huh?" Porsche asked.
I jumped, clearly startled, and looked up to see Porsche staring at me in amusement.
"Pardon?" I asked, confused.
"I've been calling your name for the past five minutes, but you've been busy texting your friends" Porsche rolled his eyes.
"Oh, sorry" I blushed in embarrassment.
"It's fine. Just try and pay attention next time" Porsche waved me off.
"Yeah, ok" I nodded.
Porsche hummed and took a bite out of his sandwich that he made for himself.
"You seem really close to your workmates" Porsche said.
"Well, yeah, we work at the same place and I see them everyday. Not to mention we have lots in common" I shrugged.
"I see. Well, is there by any chance you have a crush on one of your guy friends?" Porsche asked.
My face immediately turned bright red and I threw a cookie at him.
"Porsche!" I yelled.
Porsche, ignoring the fact that a cookie hit him straight in the face, smirked teasingly at me.
He already knows about me being gay and he's supportive. He doesn't care about my sexuality just as long as I make good choices and find someone that makes me happy.
I hope he can come to terms with his sexuality soon.
Although, I wouldn't really consider him as gay just because he fell for Kinn.
Before and after he met Kinn he still had attractions for women, so it's fair to say that he's bisexual.
He doesn't know it right now, but he will soon.
"The guys and I are just friends. Trust me, I don't have crushes on any of them" I shook my head.
"Are you sure?" Porsche asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
"Positive" I nodded.
"Alright, but just so you know you can always talk to me about this type of stuff, remember that I'm always here for you" Porsche softly said.
My eyes softened at that and I nodded.
"I know, hia. I know" I softly smiled.
Porsche softly smiled at me and reached over to ruffle my hair, causing me to chuckle.
He winked at me before going back to eating his sandwich, scrolling through his phone.
I sighed and went back to my milk and cookies.
Just a few more hours, just a few more hours...
At Night
At Hum's Bar
Tonight is the night.
The time has finally come.
Tonight is the night where Porsche and Kinn meet and everything from there begins.
I'm excited but at the same time I'm nervous.
Everything will change and I'm hoping that I can accomplish my goal and save everyone and give them the happy endings they deserve.
And for the evil ones, I hope I can succeed in getting rid of them so they rest in hell.
Porsche and I got ourselves ready before saying goodbye to Chay, telling him to be safe and alert, before heading to Hum's bar.
The place was packed, but it's nothing compared to the club of my second job.
Porsche and I were grabbing the cups to pour the drinks and to serve the customers.
"Porsche. Liam" we heard Yok call out to us.
We turned around and saw three girls and four boys sitting at the bar, sending us flirty smiles and winks.
Porsche grinned, clearly liking the attention, while I sighed and rolled my eyes.
I hated this because the girls and the boys always try to flirt with me to get some sort of reaction, but I always turn them down.
I turn down the girls because one, I'm gay.
Two, they're just trying too hard.
However, one girl had come to the bar and when I served her her drink, I was genuinely surprised when she didn't flirt with me.
Apparently, she had gotten herself out of a toxic relationship and just needed time for herself, time to think.
She drank too much to the point she had gotten too drunk to even drive herself home.
I was concerned for the poor girl so I offered to take her home, safely, and despite the state she was in she agreed.
Normally, she wouldn't let a stranger take her home, but she deemed me to be trustworthy.
She gave me the keys to her house so we could head inside and I helped her get into bed.
I tucked her safely and comfortably into her bed before leaving.
But, I did write down my name and phone number on a slip of paper and left it on her beside table.
If she ever needs a venting buddy, a friend, to talk to, I'm her pal.
While Porsche dealt with the girls, I dealt with the boys.
"So, what can I get you gentlemen?" I asked.
"Vodka" one of the boys smirked.
"Tequila" two boys smirked.
"Surprise me. After all, I love surprises" the last boy smirked, scanning me up and down.
I resisted the urge to punch him, especially when his eyes showed nothing but disgusting lust.
Yok sent me an apologetic smile while I sighed and waved her off.
I love Yok, she's a cool boss but she's also protective of Porsche and I.
Not to mention we're her favorite bartenders because of all the people we attract, women and men.
I got to work on the drinks and all of them were done within a minute.
When I served the four of them their drinks they sent me flirty smiles and gave me flirty touches before tipping me.
While I hated the flirting they did, I was happy for the money.
I cleaned some of the glasses before setting them back where they originally were before making my way over to Porsche.
Only, Porsche wasn't there, but one of our workers was.
His name is Kong, I believe, at least from what I remember when watching the show.
"Kong, where's Porsche?" I asked.
"Oh, he went to the back with a hot woman that was checking him out" Kong smirked.
I already knew that, but it doesn't stop me from sighing in exasperation.
"Of course he is" I shook my head.
"Liam, may I ask you something?" Kong asked.
"Go for it" I shrugged.
"Why don't you ever flirt with any of the women or men that come here? Every single one of them is interested in you the same way they are for Porsche, they all flirt with you but you always turn them down" Kong frowned.
I pressed my lips together and shook my head.
"Well, first, ladies aren't who I'm interested in. I'm gay after all. And second, I just don't want to waste time with flings or one night stands" I explained.
"Really?" Kong asked.
"Yep" I nodded.
"Not even if some handsome rich and hot guy appeared and wants a hot night with you?" Kong asked.
"Nope. I'm someone that is looking for love from the right person. I want someone that'll love me for me and someone that I'll cherish forever. Flings and one night stands aren't my thing" I explained.
Dad has always told me that he never dated, let alone had flings or one night stands, when he was my age.
He was waiting for the right moment, the right time where his special someone would come.
He didn't want to date anyone or experience any heartbreak.
He was saving all the romance and all the love for his special person.
And he got his special person. My mother.
And rest assure that I will do just that because I want to save all the romance, all the love and all the adventure for my special person.
Well...that is if I ever find my special person.
A Few Minutes
I checked the time to make sure I was correct before heading outside to take a smoke break with Porsche.
I closed to the door and smiled when I saw Porsche already preparing his smoke.
"The woman is gone, right?" I asked.
Porsche glanced at me and chuckled before nodding his head.
"Yeah. She left a minute ago" Porsche nodded.
I hummed and walked closer to him, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Did she tip you well?" I asked.
"Hell yeah she did" Porsche grinned.
I rolled my eyes before holding my hand out, gesturing for him to give me a cigarette.
Porsche took one out and handed it to me. I thanked him before taking out the lighter.
I put the lighter away as Porsche and I both inhaled the smoke before releasing it, our eyes closed.
This isn't something new for me.
Jack and I used to smoke a few times, mainly due to stress and exhaustion.
Of course, we didn't always smoke, after all it is bad for our lungs and we take our health seriously.
But, smoking for just a few times doesn't hurt.
All of a sudden we heard yelling and screaming.
Porsche stopped what he was doing and looked around, trying to find where the sound was coming from.
Me, on the other hand, I threw the cigarette to the ground and stomped on it.
A small and excited smirk appeared on my face as I heard footsteps approaching.
I waited as patiently as I could before my smirk grew when a shadow appeared and grew bigger and bigger.
Finally, Kinn ran inside with those thugs chasing behind him.
Finally, the real action begins.
