Chapter Forty-Four: On The Road
Liam's Pov
I hate being in cars.
I hate driving.
I hate it because it reminds me of the car accident that led to my death and that led me here.
I don't even know why I'm in a car right now and driving it in the first place.
I literally could've gotten Pravat to drive the car and get us to Ruby's house since he knows how to drive and he knows her address since I freaking gave it to him and, well, he's been there too.
But, no, for whatever reason my stupid self decided to drive.
That might be because I would have Tankhun sitting next to me.
Because if Pravat really had driven then one of us would have to sit in the passenger seat while the other had to be in the back.
And it's pretty clear neither of us wanted to be apart.
Even if we would be in the same car.
Just as long as I focus and don't crash into a truck, another car or anything else we should be alright.
Right now the three of us were enjoying the comfortable silence we were in.
Pravat was scrolling through a few things on his phone while Tankhun had his head rested on the window, staring outside.
I was focusing on the rode, never taking my eyes off of it as I drove.
Luckily, it was still late at night so there wasn't many cars out.
We should arrive at Ruby's place in no time.
The silence was soon broken by my boyfriend as he turned his head to look at me.
"So, is there anything else I should be aware of before we arrive at our destination?" Tankhun asked.
I frowned slightly at that and glanced at him for a quick second before focusing back on the road.
"Such as?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Is there anymore secrets my father is keeping. Is there anymore important information about my family I should know about? Is anything else going to happen that we need to prepare for?" Tankhun asked.
Pravat, having put his phone away, nodded and leaned forward.
"Yeah, if there's anything else we should know please tell us now" Pravat said.
At their words a frown appeared on my face and my hands on the wheel tightened.
I have tons to tell them. Tons.
But should I really them?
Because I know how they're going to react if I tell them what they should be expecting.
And I did promise that I would be honest. And, after all, they did deserve to know what is going to happen soon.
I let out a sigh and stopped the car when it was a red light.
"Alright, fine, I'll tell you guys more of what I know. But you have to promise not to freak out or try and kill anyone" I told them.
"Why would we do that?" Pravat asked, tilting his head slightly.
"Just please promise me you won't do anything. Not yet" I repeated.
Pravat and Tankhun glanced at each other and had a quick silent conversation with their eyes before turning to me.
They nodded.
I sighed in relief and nodded back at them.
When the light turned green I put my attention back onto the rode and began driving once more.
"Alright. This is something you need to know because it's going to happen soon and we need to be prepared" I told them.
"And what would be..." Pravat trailed off.
I sighed before replying, "someone is going to make an appearance and because of their appearance they are going to be staying in the compound for a while. And during their time there they are going to talk Kinn and the others into believing that Porsche is a traitor and have him locked up".
Through the rear mirror I was able to witness their reactions towards what I said.
And, as expected, their eyes were wide in surprise at what they just learned.
"You're kidding me, right?" Pravat asked.
I shook my head.
I would never kid about something like this.
Not when that stupid son of a bitch is going to appear and cause trouble.
Not when I have to protect Porsche and Chay, I refuse to let them go through any of that.
"Who the hell is coming to the compound? Why would they try and frame Porsche?" Tankhun asked.
"They're trying to frame Porsche to gain Kinn's trust. They're trying to frame Porsche in order to use him as leverage" I explained.
I really didn't wanna tell either of them who was coming.
Because I can already tell their reactions are going to be anything but good.
That's for sure.
"But who? Porsche doesn't have any enemies. Well, other than Big and Ken but that's mainly because they don't like him and he doesn't like them" Pravat frowned.
No kidding.
Those three will forever remain enemies.
Although, I'm still rooting for them to start fresh and at least become frenemies.
"Well..." I trailed off.
Hesitance was clear in my tone as I spoke.
I knew that when I tell them who is coming, hell is going to happen while we're still in this car.
They realized I was hesitant to tell them who was coming and while Pravat looked ready to change the subject, my boyfriend wasn't.
"Liam" Tankhun said in a warning tone.
I closed my eyes and let out a sigh.
I should've known he wasn't going to let this go.
He's a Theerapanyakun after all and Theerapanyakuns are stubborn as hell.
I let out a long sigh and braced myself for what could happen.
"It's Tawan, Kinn's ex-boyfriend. He's alive and he's going to stir some trouble once he arrives" I revealed.
Silence.
Silence filled the air.
Neither Pravat or Tankhun said anything after I revealed it was Tawan that was going to arrive.
And through the rear mirror I could see their reactions.
Their eyes were wide in shock and disbelief and their jaws were opened and basically touching the ground.
They look ready to faint.
I opened my mouth to say something, wanting to know if they are alright and if they needed me to stop the car so they could get out and get some fresh air.
Only to jump when they both broke the silence unexpectedly.
"TAWAN!" Pravat and Tankhun screamed in unison.
I winced but I should've expected that.
Hell, I did but I wasn't prepared so that's really on me.
"He's alive?! How?!" Pravat yelled.
"Agreed! How is that son of a bitch still alive? Kinn shot him!" Tankhun yelled.
"Not well" I grumbled while shaking my head.
How the hell did Kinn not realize that Tawan was still alive?
Did he really not check his pulse or anything and just assumed he died and left without doing a thorough check?
"So, Tawan is going to arrive and cause trouble between Kinn and Porsche?" Pravat asked.
"Yes" I sighed.
"Why? What is that asshole trying to gain? Money? Power? Love? All of the above?" Tankhun asked.
I noticed his fists were clenched tightly that his knuckles were beginning to turn white.
And don't even get me started on the murderous look in his eyes at just talking about Tawan.
Which, honestly, I understand.
Tawan is a piece of shit. We all know that.
"He wants to win Kinn's trust and have Porsche be labeled as a traitor and have him locked up. He's working for someone that wants to take Kinn down" I explained
"Who's he working for?" Pravat asked.
I bit my lip, hesitating to tell them who was behind Tawan being alive and all.
Tankhun noticed and smacked my head, hard.
"Ow! Darling!" I yelled.
"I know you aren't going to leave us hanging like that. If you want our help and you want to change what's supposed to happen then you need to tell us who that rat is working for" Tankhun sternly said.
"Darling, I-" I started but he cut me off.
"Liam" Tankhun scowled, clearly getting impatient.
I sighed and resisted the urge to slam my head onto the steering wheel.
"Fine. He's working for Vegas" I revealed.
"VEGAS!" Pravat and Tankhun screamed in unison.
I sighed, having expected that and was just waiting for it.
But still their screaming did hurt my eardrums, which is as expected.
"What the fuck is that bastard doing working for Vegas?" Pravat asked, leaning forward even more.
"More importantly, why the fuck does Vegas want to take down Kinn?" Tankhun angrily asked.
I opened my mouth to speak when I realized how close we were nearing my friends house.
Oh, that's a relief.
And believe it or but I literally almost forgot where we were heading in the first place.
Don't judge me.
"I'll explain later. We're almost at Ruby's house, we can discuss everything only after I know what progress Nampheung has made" I told them.
"Hell no!" Pravat and Tankhun yelled in unison.
"Ok, seriously, stop doing that" I sighed in annoyance.
"You aren't going to leave us on a fucking cliffhanger after telling us Vegas is using Tawan to get to Kinn and Porsche" Tankhun scowled.
"Yeah! We need to know now" Pravat added.
I sighed.
I get they want answers but I just need them to be patient and wait.
"And you will. I promise. But for right now I want to know if everything is fine with Porsche and Chay's mother, I need to know if there's been any improvements. So, please, just wait for a bit and I promise to tell you everything" I sternly said.
Tankhun and Pravat glanced at each other, seemingly communicating with each other with their eyes.
A minute passed before they looked back at me and, reluctantly, nodded their heads.
I sighed in relief and nodded back, a tiny smile on my face.
Pravat leaned back into his seat, his arms crossed over his chest, while Tankhun rested his head on the window and stared outside.
I shook my head slightly before focusing back on the road.
Things are definitely going to be chaotic once I tell them everything else.
And I wonder how they're going to handle it.
