Third Person's POV

Maren Malfoy kept her head low to avoid people looking at her, as she's the first ever Malfoy sorted in Gryffindor. She's more brave than cunning, she is more loyal than prideful, she has a couple other traits of Slytherin, but she's definitely not cunning. She wishes that she was with Ruby right now, not being in the middle of a conversation that Seamus Finnigan. He's rambling of his family of his Dad being a muggle and Mom a witch. That's at least what she caught onto it as she's reading a book Hermione suggested.

"Percy, who's that man?" Harry asks, pointing to the back that was towards her.

"That's Professor Quarrel, and the other one is Professor Snape." Maren says as she didn't even bother turning to the man but when she did she waved a little for no particular reason.

"What does Snape teach?" Harry asks another question as he turns back towards the others. 

"He teaches Potions, but he's obsessively crazy of the Dark Arts. He's been at Quarrel's job for years." Maren says as she was too busy reading the book to even look up at him.

"Hello! How are you! Welcome to Gryffindor." Was the spirit of Sir Nicholas which catches Harry's eyes.

"Hello Sir Nicholas. Have a good summer?" Percy says to the ghost as Harry tilts his head slightly at the spirit.

 "Dismal. Once again, my request to join the Headless Hunt has been declined." Sir Nicholas says to Percy and before he could leave Ron perks up.

"I know you. You're Nearly Headless Nick." Ron says as Harry turns to him confused as heck and Sir Nicholas turns to him.

 "I prefer Sir Nicholas, if you don't mind." Sir Nicholas says correcting him.

"S-sorry." Ron says before looking down.

"Nearly Headless? How can you be Nearly Headless?" Hermione asks the ghost as for once Maren looks up at her friend confused, and before she could say anything.

"Like this." Sir Nicholas says and some students made faces as they turn their heads avoiding the sight, all while Maren is looking at him like he's the last cookie in the jar. Out of all of the students she was amazed and intrigued of how that happened.

"That was cool." Maren comments before Hermione gives her a weird look and the blonde turns to her friend and shrugs her shoulders as she wasn't bothered by it.

"It's because she's a freak." Was the voice of her brother Draco, as said Maren rolled her eyes at him.

"Piss off!" Maren says to her brother as he just smiles as Ruby gave her a sad look before quickly hugging her best friend before following Draco like a lost puppy.

In Potions

Ruby was really happy that she was going to be in Potions, because that's what Snape teaches. She was seated next to Draco as Maren was by Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, also Hermione Granger.

The door slams open and Snape comes rushing in as Ruby is laughing at something that Draco said. "There will be no foolish wand waving or silly incantations in this class. As such I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion making. However, those select few..." Snape then looks at Draco, Ruby and the Maren and smiles. "Who posses the predisposition, I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory and even put a stopper in the dead." Draco raises his eye as he is nonchalantly eating a piece of candy that Ruby had given him.

Snape sees Harry writing what he had said in his lecture down, but in his words, not paying attention. "Then again maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not...pay...attention." Snape says as Hermione nudges Harry, finally making him look up to Professor Snape. Snape then walks to where he can speak to Harry more properly.

"Mr. Potter, our...new...celebrity, tell me what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" Hermione raises her hand as Maren and Ruby glanced at each other and smiled as they knew the answer but didn't want to respond. "You don't know? Well, let's try again. Where, Mr. Potter, would you look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?" Snape asked as once again Hermione's hand raised up.

"I don't know sir." Harry says to the professor. 

"And what is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?" Snape asks again as Harry just wants him to ask someone else the questions, and not him.

"I don't know sir." Harry says again as Ruby mumbled the answers under her breath.

"Pity. Clearly fame isn't everything..." Snape says as Draco had a smirk on his face as Ruby sunk in her seat. "....is it, Mr. Potter?"

Ruby slowly raised her hand slowly as she was still sunk in her seat as another student named Luna Lovegood was looking at her friend. Snape turns to her with a smirk on his face also, as she's obviously his daughter.

"Ruby?" Snape says to her.

"A-asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion, so p-powerful, it's known as the Draught of Living Death. A b-bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of the goat, and it will save you from most potions. A-as for monkshood and wolfsbane they are the same plant which also goes by the name of um, uh a-acon-aconite." Ruby says stuttering at her words as Snape knew the words that she meant to say. Hermione let out a faint groan as Draco turns to the bushy haired girl and glares at her as Snape nods his head proudly at Ruby as she has a faint smile on her face.

"Well? Why aren't you all copying that down?" Snape says to the other students in the class as he passed by Ruby and grabbed something from his pocket and handed it to her as she smiled. If she gets an answer right, he rewards her with either a small handful of gold coins and or candy. Today she got both of them. 

He patted her hand proudly before going to his desk, as she gave Draco the coins as he slipped them into his pocket.

"Gryffindors note that five points will be taken from your house...for your classmates cheek." Snape says before turning to his daughter and Malfoy.

"Fifty points to Slytherin. Thank you Miss Ruby for disclosing the answers that Potter was supposed to know, but doesn't." Snape says as Ruby smiled at her father's words.

(I know that Ruby calls Snape her 'father' it's because, he's treated her like a father, and she doesn't know that he isn't her biological father as he never told her).

Later

"Eye of rabbit, harp string hum. Turn this water into rum." Seamus Finnigan says looking in a cup and shakes his head as the spell didn't work as he raises his wand again. "Eye of rabbit, harp string hum..."

"What's Seamus trying to do to that glass of water?" Harry asks as he is sitting beside Maren as she's reading the book that Hermione had given her.

"Turn it into rum. Actually managed a weak tea yesterday before--" Ron says explaining before he was cut off when a flash occurs, as the cup that Seamus was trying to turn into rum exploded as Seamus is left charred. Several students laugh at this as both Hermione and Maren fans away the smoke with their hands. A noise is being made and the students look up seeing a flock of owls coming into the hall from the rafters above.

"Ah. Mail's here?" Ron says with a smile on his face as the owls drop parcels to students. Harry gets nothing as he wasn't surprised. He sees a newspaper Ron has put down. 

"Can I read this?" Harry asks Ron as he nods his head. "Thanks."

Neville got his Remembrall because he was the only one at their table who forgot his robes, he doesn't admit that he doesn't remember what he has forgotten in the first place.

"Hey, Ron, somebody broke into Gringotts, listen." Harry says as he starts to read the article to Ron as he and Maren listen to him. "Believed to be the work of dark witches or wizards unknown. Gringotts goblins, while acknowledging the breach, insist that nothing was taken. The vault in question, number 713 had in fact been emptied earlier that same day." Harry says as he reads the article and narrows his eyes at remembering that's the vault that him and Hagrid went to. "That's odd. That's the vault Hagrid and I went to that day, and he said it was Top Secret."

"That's odd. It doesn't make sense also, if you and Hagrid went there that day and it was Top Secret, maybe Hagrid took whatever was in the vault and they are just now talking about it." Maren says as Ron and Harry nod their heads at her understanding what the theory is.

I'm sorta going by the script I had found online
While also adding my plot into it.
