Third Person's POV

Outside in a courtyard Oliver Wood is carrying a trunk full of the essentials to play Quidditch.

"Quidditch is easy enough to understand. Each time has seven players. Three Chasers, two Beaters, one keeper, and one Seeker. That's you. There are three kinds of balls." Oliver says as he picks up a red colored ball. "This one's called the Quaffle. Now, the Chasers handle the Quaffle and try to put it through one of those three hoops." He says as he points to the hoops on the Quidditch pitch in the distance. "The keeper, that's me, defends the hoops." He throws the ball to Harry. "With me so far?"

Harry throws the ball back. "I think so. What are those?" He asks as he points to two squirming chained down balls.

"You better take this." Oliver says as he hands Harry a small bat. He bends down and releases one ball. With an angry growl it flies off into the air. The two boys watch it. "Careful now, it's coming back." The balls comes whizzing down, and Harry cracks at it with the bat. The bat soars through a statue surprisingly without damaging it. "Not bad, Potter. You'd make a fair Beater. Uh-oh." The ball zooms down and Oliver grabs it wriggling to get it back in the box. He succeeds and is out of breath.

"What was that?!" Harry exclaims to Oliver.

"Bludger. Nasty little buggers. But you are a Seeker, and the only thing I want you to worry about is this. The Golden Snitch." He hands Harry a walnut-sized golden ball.

"I like this ball." Harry says with a slight smile on his face.

"Ah, you like it now. Just wait. It's wicked fast and damn near impossible to see." Oliver explains what the Golden Snitch is to Harry.

"What do I do with it?" Harry asks.

"You catch it, before the other teams Seeker. You catch this, the game is over. You catch this, Potter, and we win." Oliver says as Harry nods his head.

The ball flutters out two delicate wings and jumps into the air. Harry keeps an eye on it. "Whoa!"

Later

In Professor Flitwick's class, said Professor is very short as he's a dwarf and he is standing on a bunch of books to make up for his stature and he looks over his class.

"One of a wizard's most rudimentary skills is levitation or the ability to make objects fly. Uh, do you have your feathers?" He asks the students in his class as Maren raises hers. "Good. Now, uh, don't forget the nice wrist movement we've been practicing. Hmm? The swish and flick. Everyone."

"The swish and flick." Says the students and Flitwick.

"Good. Oh, and enunciate. Wingardium Leviosa. Off you go, then."

The class begins to enunciate and doing the movements on their feathers. "Wingardium Levio-saaa." Said Draco as Ruby shakes her head for doing it wrong.

"Wingardium Leviosar!" Ron says as he waves his wand really fast numerous times because he thinks the same didn't work. Ruby stops him as she's sitting next to him.

"No, no, stop. Your gonna take someone's eye out. Besides your saying it wrong. It's Leviosa, not Leviosar." Ruby says.

"You do it, then if your so clever. Go on, go on." Ron says as Ruby grins which made Ron roll his eyes at her.

"Wingardium Leviosa." She says as the feather glows and lifts up ever so gently.

"Oh well done! See here, everyone. Miss Ruby's done it! Oh, Splendid!" Flitwick says as Ruby smiles.

"Of course she got it right." Went one student.

"She's the daughter of a potions teacher." Said another student.

Ruby sinks in her seat at hearing the comments. Maren glared at them for being like that to her friend.

"Pea brains." Maren grumbled under her breath as Hermione smiled at her friend. Even if she's a Malfoy, she isn't all that bad actually. Also, a lot nicer than she thought she would be.

As Ron, Hermione, Harry, Maren and Ruby cross the courtyard, Ron mimics Ruby from when they were in Charms class.

"It's Levi-ohhhh-sa. Not levi-o-saaaah. She's a nightmare, honestly. No wonder she hasn't got any friends. That and she the daughter of a bloody professor." Ron says as Maren glares at the ginger boy.

Just then, someone bumps into Harry. He turns, sees Ruby dash by, hugging her books, eyes glittering with tears.

"I think she heard you." Maren grumbled under her breath which made Ron look at her before gulping. As her cold blue eyes looked like murder. He surely doesn't wanna get murdered by Maren, even if she is capable of doing so. But she chose against it. Sadly. But she still thought about it the rest of the day 

Later
Great Hall

Luna is worried because she hasn't seen her friend all day. "I wonder where she went? Usually she's here already. " Luna asked mainly to herself as the students start coming in here for the dinner feast.

But there has been no sign of Ruby anywhere, and a day, for that matter. When Luna saw Ruby earlier at the corner of her eye and next thing she was gone. It was confusing especially to her. Whatever Ruby is doing she hopes she's okay.

Harry sees Ron glumly pushing his food around listening to Neville speak across the empty chair to Seamus. "Parvati Patil said she wouldn't come out of the girls bathroom. Said she's been in there all afternoon. Crying." Neville says a Hermione has an idea as she looks around for someone then when she sees Luna reading the Quibbler upside down. She has a small smile. She heads to the Ravenclaw table and stands next to Luna.

"Wanna go find Ruby. I know where she is." Hermione says to Luna as she immediately gets up and follows Hermione.

"I'm Luna. Luna Lovegood. I'm in Ravenclaw."

"Hermione Granger. Only reason why I know Ruby is because of Maren. She's my best friend."

"Ru talks about her a bunch, she's really nice. Despite who her brother is." Luna says as they're almost to where Ruby is.

A huge shadow falls over Ruby's face, as the troll advances towards her. She dashes into a stall, bolts the door. Trembling, she peers upward watching as the trolls face appears over the top looking in.

Panicked, she drops to the floor and shimmes jnto the next stall, out of the trolls sight. Angered the troll raises its club and shatters the stall Ruby was just in. As wood rains down in jagged, splintered pieces.

Hermione and Luna rush in staring in horror as the troll raises the club high and shatters the next stall. Ruby, is still crawling covers her head and peers back. The club comes thundering down yet again, this time just inches from her foot.

"Don't worry, Ruby! We're here!" Hermione says as Luna reaches into her pocket to grab her wand.

"What should we do."

"Confuse it." Hermione says as her and Luna grab anything and began to hurl it at the troll, but sadly that's not working. As shards of wood bounce off its pint-sized head and great lumpy shoulders, the troll brings the club down once more and shatters the last stall.

As Hermione and Luna look on grimly the troll jabs it's club into the hash of wood before it poking around for Ruby, when at the last second. She scrambles out and dashes under the sink. Grunting furiously the troll turns and begins to advance towards her.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" With that the troll quivers upon the floor, and begins to rise. The troll still raging grabs Hermionez leg and peels her off her body. As he hold Hermione up high suspended by one leg, Hermione's works goes upside down spinning, when the club floats by her face. The troll pauses watching in confusion as the club rises toward the ceiling, hanging in magical suspension until, it drops smack on the trolls head. Wobbling the troll releases its grip on Hermione's leg and drops her hard to the floor. Hermione peers up, the troll wobbles one last time and starts to fall...directly on top of Hermione. Quickly, Hermione rolls away just before the troll slams to thr floor inches away.

The three of the girls approach it carefully. "Is it...dead?" Luna asks as she looks at the knocked out troll.

"I don't think so, just knocked out." Hermione says as she grabs her wand that dropped not to much ago.

Suddenly, McGonagall, Snape and Quarrel comes rushing in, they l gasp at the knocked out troll. "Oh! Oh my goodness! E-explain yourself, you two!" McGonagall says to Hermiome and Luna.

"Well...what it is.." Hermione and Luna say stuttering a little.

"It was my fault, Professor McGonagall." Ruby says to the teachers, as Hermione and Luna look at her shocked.

"Miss R-Ruby?" Professor McGonagall says shocked that Ruby would do something like that. Snape gives his daughter a mean glare but deep down he's somewhat happy that she's alive.

"I went looking for the troll. I'd read about them and I thought I could handle it. But I was wrong. If Hermione and Luna hadn't come and found me....I'd probably be dead." Ruby says explaining herself of why she did what she did.

"Be that as it may be...it was an extremely dangerous and foolish thing to do. I would have expected more rational behavior on your part Miss Ruby." McGonagall says as she looks at Severus. Which made Ruby finally look up at her father and the look that he's giving her.

"Five points will be taken from Slytherin for your serious lack of judgment." Snape says to his daughter as she nods her head as she sunk her head to avoid looking at him.

She used to never be one to get into trouble a lot, so what changed?

"As for you two, I just hope you realize how fortunate you are. Not many students could take on a fully grown mountain troll and live to tell the tale. Five points...will be awarded to each of you." Hermione and Luna grin at each other. "For sheer dumb luck."

After the others left it was just Snape and Ruby left in the bathroom. He didn't really say much but Ruby knew enough of him not to question. "Papa-" Ruby went to say before Snape pushed her a little in the direction of the dungeons.

"Not now, Bibi." He says as she sunk her head lower keeping quiet until they got to the dungeons. He sat her in a chair as she watched the fireplace as it was oddly satisfying. "Why in the living bloody hell would you do that?" He asked her as he didn't raise his voice like he did when she was on the third floor with Harry, Ron and Hermione.

"Tell me the truth." He said to her which made her gulp a little at the breath that she didn't know she was holding in.

"Originally it started in Flitwick's class when we were working on a spell. Ron didn't like how I got it right after, then after that I heard a couple students saying 'of course she got it right, shes the daughter of a professor', so little bit later I was with Maren and the others and Ron was mocking how I got it right. He didn't realize I overheard what he said which made me cry and so I left. I went to the girls bathroom not realizing that's where the troll was." Ruby said really fast as that's what she does when she's confessing something. Snape heard everything that she said clearly. "I didn't want to say then truth and get Hermione and Luna in trouble."

Once Ruby was done explaining her side and the truth in her defense she's lied enough to Severus. Which she also never does but maybe every once in a blue moon. Which luckily he hadn't caught on.

"Thank you, Bibi." He says to her which made Ruby feel a tiney weenie better as she went back to looking at the fireplace. "Go to bed. See you in the morning."

Ruby nods her head just wanting to follow the rules for once. She walked towards her domitory and put on her night clothes and sat on the bed looking at the ceiling the rest of the night. Even when she did try to fall asleep she wouldn't be asleep for long.

When she did sleep, she had a weird dream of when she was younger, as she's guessing a baby, she saw a red haired woman protecting her and another person. But then she saw a bright green light and then the red woman fell to the ground.

It didn't make sense to her at all, as she was gonna ask her Papa in the morning about that weird dream.

Maybe it's how she got a scar on her right cheek.

But the question is who is the other person i her dream. She never had any siblings, right?
