Third Person's POV

Harry, Hermione, Ruby and Ron are walking a path with Hagrid talking. "Non sense! Why would Snape put a curse on Harry's broom?"

"Because he doesn't like Harry." Ruby says as she hasn't spoken to her father all day today as Hagrid looks at her.

"Ruby, you believe Harry about your father, don't you?" Hagrid says as Ruby sighs before looking at Hagrid.

"I mean ever since Harry's gotten here, all I've been saying from Papa is he doesn't like Harry and wishes that he was never here. Trust me, I hear him everyday in the dungeons." Ruby says to him as she looked at Harry.

"Why was he trying to get past that three-headed dog on Halloween?" Harry asks as Hagrid turns to them, suspiciously. 

"Who told you about Fluffy?"

"Fluffy?" Ron asked.

"That thing has a name?" Ruby asked as Hermione nods her head at her.

"Well, of course, he's got a name. He's mine. I bought him off an Irish feller I met down at the put last year. Then I lent him to Dumbledore to guard the..." Hagrid explains as the four of them look at Hagrid.

"Yes?" Ruby asked.

"Shouldn't have said that. No more questions! Don't ask any more questions. That's top secret, that is." Hagrid says.

"But, Hagrid, whatever Fluffy's guarding, Snape's trying to steal it." Harry says.

"Hogwarts teacher or not, I know a spell when I see one. I've read all about them. You've got to keep eye contact and Snape wasn't blinking." Hermione says.

"Exactly." Harry says as Hagrid sighs. 

"Now, you listen to me, all four of yeh. Yer meddling in things that ought not to be meddled in. It's dangerous. What that dog is guarding is strictly between Professor Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel."

Harry's curious and turns to Ron then back to Hagrid. "Nicholas Flamel?"

Hagrid mumbles to himself. "I shouldn't have said that. I shouldn't have said that."

"Nicholas Flamel." Harry turns to Hermione and Ruby. "Who's Nicholas Flamel?"

"I don't know." Hermione says as she shakes her head.

Christmas

It is now Christmas at Hogwarts, with snow falling, Hagrid is dragging a massive Christmas tree to the castle. Hermione walks to the Great Hall entrance with her luggage and wearing a scarf as the ghosts as singing Christmas songs.

Hermione looks from the massive Christmas tree as Flitwick uses his wand to put another ornament on the three to Harry, Ron, and Ruby as the two boys are playing chess as Ruby is watching them.

"Knight to E5."  Harry says as the Knight moves to its destination as Hermione walks up behind Harry.

With a smug smile Ron replies. "Queen to E5."

Hermione watches as Ron's queen goes over to Harry's knight and whacks the knight with her chair as Ron grins as he fist-bumps with Ruby.

"That's totally barbaric!" Hermione says shocked.

"That's wizard's chess." Ruby replies as she looks over to Hermione.

"I see you've packed." Ron says as Hermione looks at Ron with a raised brow.

"I see you haven't." Hermione says.

"Change of plans. My parents decided to go to Romania to visit my brother, Charlie. He's studying dragons there."

"Good, you can help Harry, then. He's going to go and look in the library for information on Nicholas Flamel." Hermione says.

"We've looked hundreds of times!" Ron exclaims.

Hermione leans over on the table closer to Ron, Ruby and Harry. "Not in the restricted section. Happy Christmas." Hermione leaves Ron, Harry and Ruby slightly baffled of what just happened.

Ron looks at Harry. "I think we've had a bad influence on her.

"More like you too." Ruby says as Harry grins at her as Ron shook his head.

Ruby got up and grabbed her book that she was reading. It was from her favorite muggle author.

"Where you going?" Ron asked Ruby as she turns around and looks at her.

"To see if Luna is here." She says as it was a lie but luckily he didn't catch on to it.

Ruby was actually going to go to her secret hideout, that only her Papa and Professor McGonagall know about. She made sure that no one was following her so she is in her animagus form which is a black kitten.

"Aberto." Ruby muttered as she waved her wand as the door opened to her hideout, as she door disappeared when she walked into the room. The door to the hideout is hidden under a statue which was purposely there for the hideout.

She has had this hideout since she wad four years old, as she would wonder around the school a lot. Another reason why she loves this place is because of how relatively quiet it is in this part of the school. It's by the Room of Requirement. Which is also Ruby's other favorite part of the school.

She comes here to decompress and to get her mind off of everything else in her life. It is also sound proof as there is multiple charms protecting it.

After spending a couple hours in her hideout, she didn't realize that Harry and Ron were right there, watching her come from underneath the statue. "What the bloody hell was that?" Ron asked as Ruby sighs.

"It's a hideout." Ruby said as she walked a little bit faster than Ron and Harry, now wanting to avoid the two of them, because they caught her in her hideout.

"What is it?" Harry asked her once him and Ron caught up to the girl.

"It's a quiet place I go to sometimes, when I just want to get away from everything." Ruby explained. "Must I add what you two are doing, here?" She asked.

"Going to the forbidden section of the library." Ron exposes as Harry hit his shoulder.  "Ow. What was that for?" He asked.

"We're not suppose to tell anyone." Harry scolds as Ruby rolled her eyes as Maren is staying at Hogwarts with her brother during Christmas, which is a good thing, as Luna is also with her father over break, to search for animals or something. Ruby wasn't paying attention to those details.

"Oh right." Ron says rubbing his shoulder where Harry had hit him.

"I got to go, hope it goes well." Ruby says as she doesn't want to get into trouble again, it's bad enough that ever since Harry has been at Hogwarts she's been getting into trouble, which generally didn't happen.

"You're not going to help us, look for the book of Nicholas Flamel?" Ron asked as Harry hit him again in the same spot. "Will you stop hitting me, mate?"

"Will you stop exposing our plans?" Harry remarked as Ron shrugged his shoulders.

Christmas Morning

"Harry, wake up! Come on, Harry, wake up!" Was Harry's alarm that he didn't remember setting as he gets up and puts on his glasses, and runs out of bed and then looks at Ron. 

"Happy Christmas, Harry." Ron says looking up at his friend.

"Happy Christmas, Ron." Harry says as he takes notice of Ron's sweater. "What are you wearing?" Harry asked.

Ron looks down at his sweater. "Oh, my mum made it." He says as he looked back up at Harry. "It looks like you've got one too."

"I-I've got presents?" Harry asked, as growing up with the Dursley's he's never gotten presents.

"Yeah." Ron says nodding his head as Harry runs down the staircase and sees his presents. "There they are."

Harry grabs a present and sees that there is a note on the present, and opens it and reads it out loud.

"Your father left this in my possession before he died. It is time it was returned to you. Use it well." Harry says as he looks over at Ron who shrugs his shoulders.

Harry proceeds to open the remaining of his present and he pulls out what looks like a blanket. "What is it?" Ron asked.

Harry looks down at the object. "It's some kind of cloak." Harry says.

"Well, let's see, then. Put it on." Ron says as Harry then puts the cloak around his shoulders, only making his head visible and the rest of his body invisible. "Whoa!" Ron exclaims once he realized what it was.

Harry looks down at his invisible body. "My body's gone!" Harry exclaims.

"I know what that is. That's an invisibility cloak!" Ron says.

"I'm invisible?" Harry asked in disbelief as he spins around, looking down at himself.

"They're really rare." Ron says as he looks down at the note. "I wonder who gave it to you." 

Harry looks at the note. "There was no name. It just said, 'use it well'."

later

Ruby put her presents away in there designed places before she transformed into her animagus form which is a black kitten. She was walking around as she looked to see if Harry had gone into the Restricted section of the library.

She sees what looks like a floating lantern which made her confused, as she peered closer before looking to see if anyone was coming and she transferred back in her human form.

"It's over here." She says which scared Harry in the process as he nearly dropped the lantern that was in his hands.

"Don't do that." He scolds her as she moves her fingers across the books until she finds Nicholas Flamel.

Ruby made the mistake of opening the book which a man's face appears from between the pages. Which screams madly and loudly, as Ruby immediately slams the book shut and puts it back.

"Who's there?!" Filch yells as Ruby went back into her animagus form and ran out. Harry whips around and quickly grabs the cloak, causing the lantern to fall and shatter on the ground. "I know you're in there. You can't hide." Harry pouts on his cloak and creeps around Filch. "Who is it? Show yourself!'

Harry runs from the room, breathing heavily. He exits into the hall where Mrs. Norris, who meows and begins to follow him and Ruby who is now in her human form under the cloak with Harry.

They turn around a corner, just as Snape and Quirrell appear, as Snape pushes Quirrell into the wall. "Severus.....I-I thought..."

"You don't want me as your enemy, Quirrell." Snape says holding the collar of Quirrell's robes.

"You know perfectly damn well what I mean." Snape says as he senses something, which caused Harry to stop breathing. Snape reaches out to grab something but doesn't. He whips his finger back in front of Quirrell's face. "We'll have another chat soon. When you've had time to decided where your loyalties lie."

Filch then arrives, carrying the broken lantern. "Oh, Professors. I found this in the Restricted Section, it's still hot. That means there's a student out of bed." 

Upon hearing this, Snape and Quirrell dart off.
