Chapter 3 Find
Once Ellie was back home, she attempted to get out of the carriage but Davis stood in her way with his arms crossed expecting an answer.
"What the bloody hell happened in there El?" He asked.
"I honestly, don't know Davis. The prince, Killian he mistook me for Emma!" Davis cocked his head to the side and snorted.
"You look nothing like princess Emma."
Ellie glared at him and pushed his shoulder moving him out of her way to get out of the carriage.
"Well it wasn't meant to be mean Ellie!" Davis defended himself as Ellie stormed inside. He followed reluctantly.
"Come on El, Tell me what happened?"
"What happened?" Everett asked as he came out of the kitchen.
"Ellie met herself a prince." Davis smirked. Everett smiled, big.
"It sounds like you had quite the evening then Ellie. I'll make some tea and you can tell me all about it."
"I'm actually quite tired Papa, but I will tell you all about it tomorrow. I promise." Ellie smiled. How was she supposed to tell her father that she not only met the prince, he mistook her for someone else, he danced with her and then he kissed her in front of an entire ballroom of people including his fiance?
"Alright, darling, as long as you had a good time."
"I had a grand time." Ellie said and hugged him tightly. "Thank you." Ellie pulled away from her father and gave Davis a smile and a wave before retreating to her room.
Everett raised his eyebrow and looked at Davis.
"What happened?" He asked.
Davis sighed.
"I don't know to be honest, I couldn't get anything out of her on the way here." He shrugged. "I do know, that she came running out of the palace and insisting we had to go, and as we were leaving, Prince Killian was chasing the carriage. She did say something about being mistaken for Princess Emma."
"Oh..Dear." Everett sighed and sat down. "This could mean trouble. These Royal type, you never know what you are going to get with them."
"Perhaps it wasn't such a great idea?" Davis suggested.
"It may not have been, but did you see how happy it made her? Even with the threat of trouble hanging over her she was radiant. I haven't seen her smile like that since.." Everett frowned.
"Since before her mother passed." Davis nodded and then chuckled. "You know had Emily been here today she would have marched Ellie right back to that palace. That woman always went nose first straight into trouble."
"Aye and we wonder where Ellie gets it." Everett smirked.

Killian looked down at the charm bracelet in his hand. He wished she would have stayed, but he understood why she might be afraid to. He wanted to know who this mystery woman was. He had to know her.
"So, you realize that I am never going to let you live this down right Killian?" Emma snickered as she walked into the ballroom that was being cleared out.
"Aye, I wouldn't imagine so." Killian said. "So you aren't upset then?"
"Upset? That was great. Remember that time, I fell in the garden fountain on my 16th birthday in front of all of those people and you laughed until you cried? Yeah. This was so much better. You kissed a complete stranger in front of my kingdom and yours. Your brother is about to lose his mind and I thought my father was going to kill you." Emma laughed
Killian gave a small laugh and ran his thumb over the star charm on the bracelet. Emma sat down next to him
"I'm not upset. But you are. Whats wrong..what is that?" Emma asked looking at the bracelet.
"Its hers. The woman I kissed.. I'm not upset. Well, not really. Be Honest with me Swan, when we kissed you didn't want to run away did you?" He asked.
"No, I didn't want to run away but.. It was awkward. It still is. I know you feel that too." Emma said. "You aren't a bad kisser Killian, I am certain that girl did not run away because you kissed her. She probably feared she's be imprisoned, or worse."
"Probably, I fear we are still cleaning up Regina's mess from her horrid reign.." Killian sighed and looked at Emma.
"What are we doing?" He asked.
"What do you mean?" Emma asked.
"Why are we getting married? I love you Swan, but not..not like this and it just became all the more clear when I kissed that woman. I've never in my life felt anything like it."
"Perhaps its true love?" Emma suggested. Killian just scoffed.
"Oh, come on, I'm the product of true love. I think I'd know it." Emma groaned. "To be honest, I don't know what we are doing either Killian. You're right, I love you too but not in the way everyone wants me to love you."
"So..what do we do?"
"Well. First I think we need to find this mystery woman and figure out for sure, if she is your true love and then we go from there. We'll talk to our families they'll have to understand."
"How am I supposed to find her Emma? I have no idea where to look." Killian sighed.
"Well if you'd ever leave this palace you'd know where to look." Emma smirked.
"Okay, If you know where to look then by all means tell me."
"Meet me at the gates tomorrow evening. For right now its best we keep this to ourselves." Emma grinned and stood up.
"But where are we going?" Killian asked.
"You'll see." Emma said. "Don't be late Jones." She smirked and walked out of the room.

Ellie was in the kitchen the next morning bright and early making breakfast for her and her father, She hadn't slept a wink last night, her mind and heart was racing. She couldn't believe she'd actually danced with the prince, and then he'd kissed her too. She was so excited, and terrified at the same time, but also a little disappointed.
Ellie had kissed a few different men that she was fond of, as she grew up but no kiss had ever felt like that. The prince damn near took her breath away, She was reminded of the stories her mother use to tell her, about how her, and her father first met and the way she felt when he'd kissed her and she could have sworn she felt those feelings for herself last night.
Of course she did, of all of the men out there, her possible true love, just had to be the most out of reach of them all.
He was a Prince, she was just a commoner, who worked in her uncles Tavern with her father, and her friend. Not at all the type of woman a Prince would want. Not to mention this particular prince was to be married. Ellie cringed, hoping that the Princess wasn't upset with her. Its not like she meant for it to happen, but she had heard from her Uncle, that not all Royal's were forgiving. He, and her father had just barely survived The Evil Queen's Reign. So she was worried, what if they found out who she was? Where she was? What kind of problems did she just bring on to her family?
Everett walked into the kitchen with a smile.
"It smells lovely darling, but you didn't have to make breakfast. I thought you'd still be sleeping, Your uncle Marcus gave you today off too."
"Oh, I haven't even been to bed yet Papa." Ellie sighed and turned around with a smile on her face.
"Are you ready to tell me of your adventure?" Everett asked.
"Promise you wont be upset?" Ellie asked.
"How could I be upset when you are smiling like that?"
Evynne turned back to the stove and put the eggs on plates for her and her father and brought them to the table and sat down.
"I danced with Prince Killian." She blurted out.
"You danced with the Prince?" Everett gasped.
"Yes! It was so wonderful, he just gracefully led us around the ballroom, I hardly had to move its like we were floating!"
"I trust he was a gentlemen?" Everett asked with his eyebrow raised.
"Papa!" Ellie groaned. "Of course he was. He's a Prince!"
"Well what happened after you danced? Davis said you practically flew out of the palace.."
Ellie looked down at her plate pushing eggs around with her fork.
"Ellie...What happened? You know you can tell me anything."
"He kissed me, Papa.." Evynne said quietly.
Everett almost choked on his eggs.
"He.. kissed you?" He asked.
"Yes, In front of everyone! Even the princess! His fiance, I didn't know what to do so I ran! I was so scared. I remember Uncle Marcus's stories and I was worried that I'd end up without my head."
"I think those days are far behind us love. Regina's Reign was over before you were born. Don't let your uncle Marcus scare you. He lost a lot in Regina's time on the throne. He's bitter."
"I just don't want my mistakes to hurt you.." Ellie frowned.
"You didn't make any mistakes love. You were radiant last night!"
"You remember mums stories.. The ones about when she met you?" Ellie asked.
"I do." Everett smiled.
"I always thought she was exaggerating when she'd say her body felt like it was lit on fire.. Or it felt like there was a flutter of butterflies invading her stomach. But I felt it all last night the second his lips touched mine." Ellie smiled and brushed her finger over her lips.
"I think, Ellie, my dear you've found a way to change your stars." Everett grinned.
"He's to be married. A prince is not in my cards Papa, besides I am happy here. With you, and even Davis." Ellie smiled and cleaned her plate. "I'm going to get a little nap before I start my chores. Wake me before you go to the Tavern." She smiled and kissed him on the cheek and walked out of the kitchen.

As promised Killian met Emma at the palace gates that evening.
"Are you going to tell me where we are going? Or is it to be a surprise?" Killian asked with a smirk.
"We're going to the Tavern just over that hill, A lot of the commoners go there, so if you want to find this mystery girl, that is a good place to start." Emma offered.
"How do we know she is a commoner?"
"Because of the way she ran out of here last night. She was scared." Emma sighed. "Do you have the bracelet?" She asked.
"Aye." Killian said and held up his small leather satchel. "In here."
"Good, lets go." Emma grinned grabbing his wrist dragging him along with her.
Killian was unsure as they got closer to the Tavern. The townspeople didn't think to nicely of him and his brother, they were cautious. Regina had given them all a bad name.
"Have you ever been here before?" He asked Emma. She shook her head.
"Not this one. But I've been to many others." She smirked
"I'm sure your father is thrilled." Killian chuckled.
"What he doesn't know won't hurt him." Emma shrugged.
"Aye, but what he finds out could very well hurt me." Killian muttered.
"Relax Jones. I do this all the time. You just need to live a little." Emma sighed and pulled him along to the Tavern door.
"These people don't think too kindly of my brother and I.." Killian sighed.
"That I because they don't know you. The real you. Just act like a normal person. Don't go in there all high and mighty. Treat them as equals and they will respect you. Come on." Emma said and opened the door to the Tavern.
Once they stepped foot inside the people in the Tavern all began to whisper among themselves. They seemed afraid by his presence and it honestly made him a little sad. He'd never done anything to hurt anyone and these people were afraid of him.
Everett was working the bar that evening and he looked up when things got quiet. He himself became a little on edge when he noticed the reason the people were so quiet suddenly was the fact that The prince had stumbled into the Tavern. Maybe Ellie was right to be afraid. Everett walked around the bar and cautiously over to Killian and Emma.
"I don't mean to be rude, but are you lost?" He asked.
The prince cleared his throat, seemingly nervous. Why would the prince of all people be nervous in the presence of a commoner like him? Everett thought to himself.
"I'm actually looking for someone. I was hoping someone in here could help me." Killian said and scratched behind his ear.
"Well that would depend greatly on who it is you are looking for." Everett said firmly and crossed his arms. "and why you are looking for them. I know you Royal type look after your own and I look after mine."
Killian cocked his head. a little offended that this man assumed he was here to do any harm. Killian didn't know this man at all.
"My apologies. I should introduce myself. Killian Jones." Killian said and offered his hand to the man.
Everett shook his hand. Surprised that the Prince didn't address himself as soon. Maybe he was more humble than he thought.
"Everett Thomas." he replied. "How can I help?"
Killian reached down and opened his satchel retrieving the charm bracelet.
"I'm actually looking for the owner of this." Killian said and held up the bracelet.
Everett knew this was his daughters. Her mother had given it to her.
"What for?" He asked suspiciously.
"It was left at my palace last night. I only wish to return it. It looks important. Do you know who it belongs to?" Killian asked.
"I do.Its my daughters. I can return it for you." Everett offered.
"Your daughter?" Killian asked. "If I may.. I'd like to return it personally."
"If this is about last night..Ellie didn't mean any harm. If shes in trouble, take me instead. I'm the one who talked the courier into giving me the invitation." Everett admitted.
"T..trouble? No!" Killian shook his head. "Its just... She ran off so fast this fell off of her and I couldn't give it back. Please. I know you have no reason to believe my brother and I are any different than Regina but we are. Please I'd only like to give her the bracelet back and see that she made it home safely."
Everett was hesitant but he knew Ellie would be thrilled to know she wasn't in any trouble.
"I suppose I can give you directions if you promise to keep your lips to yourself." Everett smirked.
Killian's face flushed bright red and Emma giggled.
"Don't worry Mr. Thomas I will keep him In line." She winked.

Ellie stood outside brushing Nova and looking up at the sky as the sun was setting and first stars were starting the show in the sky.
"Papas lost his mind. Change my Stars? With an engaged prince?" She giggled. "Though.. Mum always said I was meant for more than this. But..the Prince?? Surely not." Ellie sighed. "He's probably having himself a good laugh right about now. While his princess plots my demise." She frowned as she continued brushing the horses hair.
Killian and Emma came to the small cabin in the middle of a field. Emma pointed to the blonde girl brushing a horse In a stable.
"I think that's her." She whispered.
"What do I do?" Killian asked.
"Go say hi!" Emma said giving him a 'are you stupid?' Look and pushed him forward.
"Swan!" Killian hissed as Emma ran off and his behind a tree. Gesturing for him to go.
Ellie gasped as she heard rustling behind her. Nova became a little uneasy.
"Easy girl" she said and ran her hand over the star patch on the horses forehead trying to soothe her. She turned around slowly. She had nothing to defend herself against bandits or thieves. But she wouldn't leave Nova out here.
"H..hello?" She called out nervously. She jumped back as she saw someone stepped out from the darkness.
She raised her lantern in a shaky hand
"Who's there?" she asked and then gasped again when the man stepped forward into the lantern light.
It was the Prince!
