Chapter - 1
It was early morning before sunrise. I felt the cold water running down my arms as I was performing my ablusion before the morning prayer. I did my ablusion and came out of the washroom. My eyes fell on the small figure that was sleeping on my bed, peacefully.
I looked at the small figure and went near her. The little girl's hair was tied in a pony tail and she was cuddling on the blanket that was covering her fragile small body from the cold air. Her dimples showed as she smiled on her sleep and snuggled on her pillow. A smile form on my lips. She was beautiful and she was my daughter. My sunshine. My world.
I leaned down and kissed her little checks before heading towards the closet where the prayer matt was kept. I took the prayer matt and laid it down in the floor and began to perform my prayers.
After the prayer, I raised my arms and asked the Almight God, Allah, to give my daughter every happiness that she deserves. I then receite the Holy Quran.
After that I put the Quran and the prayer matt away and looked at the clock. It was 6:00 am. Exactly the time when I do some exercise.
Even though I was a mother, I was still 25 years old but, being a doctor, I knew how much exercised really helps to keep a person healthy. Age never matters in exercise.
I went to another room of my apartment and did some push ups. Then I did my arms curling. I then again went on my push up position and began to do some more push ups when I heard some footsteps. I was still in my push up position as I looked at the door ans saw my little daughter near the door, looking at me with her beautiful brown eyes.
"Mommy?" she said softly as she looked at me.
I sat on the floor and extended my arms to her.
She ran to me and jumped on my arms. "Mommy!" she laughed.
I kissed her forhead and looked at her. "Good morning baby!" I said as I picked her on my arms and stood up from the floor.
"Good morning!" she laughed as I put her on top of my shoulder. Her little finger ran on my hair, making it all messy.
"Did u brush ur teeth, honey?" I asked her.
"Brush?" she asked as she played with my hair.
"Yeap! You need to brush ur teeth, Aara," I said as I took her to the washroom. I made her stand on the little stool that was on the washroom and then helped her to brush her teeth.
Around 7:00 am, she was ready for daycare. I made her wear her favourite hat with her little prerry outfit. I then did a small cute pony tail on top of her head and asked, "Is my baby hungry?"
"Yeah!" she clapped her hands as I out little clips on her hair. "Can I have pancakes for breakfast, mommy?"
"You sure can!" I said as I held ger on my arms and run to kitchen as she laughed.
I made her seat on her chair as I went to the kitchen to cook some pancakes for her. I could hear Aara talking from her seat. Even thought she was just 3 years and a few months old, she was an early learner and talked a lot.
"Mommy, you know what happened yesterday? Ms. Macando gave me a chocolate but not to Aasif because I was a good kid yesterday but Aasif wasn't," she said as she grinned.
I listened to her as I keep cooking.
"Aasif was a bad boy yesterday, mommy. He hit Ryan yesterday," she said.
"Oh, that's bad."
"But mommy, Ryan stole my cookie yesterday. So, Aasif hit Ryan to get me my cookie," she said. "Aasif is my best friend."
I laughed. "He sure is, love."
The story of this mysterious Aasif kid has been going on since months now in my house. Aara always talks about him.
"But then mommy, after Ms. Macando called Aasif's daddy and his daddy came . . ." I could hear her voice getting low.
This was bad.
I took the pancakes on a plate and went near the table to sever her when I notice her upset face.
"Aasif's daddy came . . ." she bagan and slowly I saw tears forming on her eyes.
"Aara?" I asked as I sat next to her and rubbed her back.
Within a few moments she threw her arms around me and began to sob.
"Mommy!" she sobbed as her arms wrapped around my neck. My hand patted on her back. "I want a daddy, mommy." she sobbed.
I tried to calm her down but it was useless. She was sobbing a lot. It was breaking my heart but I cannot just get her a dad. Not when I am divorced.
I hugged Aara. I was gald that I atleast got divorced from that man though who ruined my life. I would better be a single mother than having an ill manered husband.
I knew Aara always wanted a dad, but, I couldn't do anything about it. She could ask me anything and I would give that to her but she was asking me something that I can never give her.
