‘Tick...tock...tick...tock…’

A fourteen-year-old girl with waist-long midnight blue hair and sapphire eyes sat down next to her younger brother, who had sky blue hair, with cyan-colored eyes as they saw the food that was in front of them. 

They kept their eyes averted as they saw their mother smile at them with her sickly sweet smile as she placed a four-month baby into her high-chair as the baby giggled, she hit her hands against the mini table on the high chair, as the woman laughed in amusement as she turned her direction to the preteen girl and the boy.

“ Isa~ Aqua~...It’s time to eat!” The woman clasped her hands together as she said in a happy voice, “ I did my best to make them today! Finish them all, okay?” she said. Aqua and Isa looked at their meals as Aqua looked at the plates in front of her, and saw how her and Isa’s were different. 

Aqua had a couple of lettuce and one tomato with no dressing, and a small bread roll, along with a tiny bowl of soup. Isa on the other hand, had a full bread roll, with more lettuce with some baked potato and more tomatoes, and a bigger bowl of soup. 

“ And for my little princess, you’ll be having some yummy applesauce and some carrots!! Yummy!” Their mom said as the baby giggled in excitement. 

Aqua looked over at her brother, an uneasy look on her face as she saw Isa had not reacted or try and touch his food yet, as he merely grabbed his silverware and an almost emotionless look on his face.

Aqua looked down as she said in a soft and meek voice, “ Mom….I feel that for the two meals we have a day...the amount is...well...small...and….I also want to eat the same thing Isa does…” she told her mother as the woman turned her head to Aqua’s direction. 

The woman stared at her, disappointment in her eyes as she covered her mouth with one hand, shaking her head as she spoke, “ Oh dear, Aqua….Are you planning to get even fatter? I mean, look at you. You have gangly ribs, your stomach is too round and protruding out, and your thighs and arms are so fat and chubby, and your face is so round and plump...that’s not very pretty, now is it?” she asked as Aqua looked at her mother scared.

Even though what she said about the things about Aqua were all false, as Aqua was very thin and her cheeks were a bit hollow, and her limbs were gangly, but that was because of lack of food, not because of her.

“ I have made perfect calculations on both of your eating habits….I know exactly what amount to give to you, Isa and Piri...any extra to your bodies would-be toxic.” 

The woman stared at her with dead eyes, giving her a death glare, as she told her eldest daughter, “ If the food doesn’t suit you, I can just inject nutritions into your BODY. You know it doesn’t matter to mommy you know.” 

Aqua trembled in her seat, fear going through her as Isa finally spoke, about to take a bite of a tomato from his salad, “ Aqua...if you don’t eat, the foods going to be cold.” he said, giving her a small reminder to her of what would happen if the food got cold, which made her more scared as she took her fork and took a bite of her food as she kept her head down. 

Their mother laughed as they both ate their food silently, as she gave Piri some applesauce and the carrots as she said“ Ufufu, what good children! Mother loves good children that behave!”

‘ Oh, my cute kids(dolls)’

“ Oh Aqua….remember, we have Keyblade training tomorrow morning, don’t be late, understood?”

“....yes mom..”

Later….

After dinner, Aqua snuck out through her window, wearing,  her favorite cat hoodie with a skirt as and her hair was now put into twin braids, she quickly ran, since she knew her mother was busy taking care of Piri at this time.

It was clear that their mother loved Piri more than her and Isa. She held no resentment to Piri since she couldn’t. She was a baby, she didn’t know what was happening, or how their mother favored her over the others. Isa though, it seemed he didn’t like Piri too much, so he always left the house when he could, to try and not be around them too much. 

 She had seen Isa sneak out awhile ago, to probably visit his new friend he had told her in secret about, his name was Lea. They had both bonded over some puppies, which had caused them to become good friends. 

She kept walking as she made her way to her secret spot, where she met up with her only friend she had as she took out another thing she kept hidden from her mother, her GameGirl advance as she sat down at the fountain and started to play as she was so focused on her game she didn’t notice at first her name being called out until she heard, “ AQUA!” making her pause her game and look up to see her best friend and her crush, standing there with an amused look on his face, “ Jeez, took you long enough to notice I got here…”

She slightly blushed in embarrassment as she said, “ Sorry Terra...I got wrapped up in the game…” she told him, slightly hiding her face with her gamegirl. 

He laughed a bit as he said, “ It’s fine, I know how wrapped up you can be in your games. What game you playing today?” he asked curiously, sitting next to her.

She smiled as she said, “ Galaga Omega again. You know it’s my favorite.” she said as he laughed a bit, “ Yep, I know, and it is a classic. You’re in luck today, I was able to bring my GameBoy advance.” he said pulling it out.

Aqua smiled brightly as she said, “ Then we can play together! Yippie!” she cheered making Terra laugh a bit, his cheeks turning pink as she blushed in embarrassment, “ S-Sorry, I didn’t mean to get so excited…” 

“ Nono, it’s fine, besides, it’s kinda cute when you get excited….n-not that your cute or anything...ha...haha..” he said, shyly looking away in embarrassment. 

Awkward silence.

“ A-Anyways...how was training for you today? Did it go okay?” The teen boy asked as she sighed, a little down.

 “ Not really….mom...I mean, Master keeps pushing me to get better at physical fighting, like swinging my Keyblade like a bat or a heavy weapon or something, when my Keyblade isn’t anything like that. It’s light and more magic-based than anything, and even though I’m not any good at it….She wants me to be perfect at everything involved with the Keybalde, I can move fast, dodge attacks with my cartwheels, and I’m good with magic and blocking….but no, I’m a disgrace to the Keyblade or something, sorry to say, MOM, my body type isn’t meant for blunt hits or hard-hitting….BUT NOOOOO, it’s not good enough.” Aqua complained, tugging on one of her hair strands.

Terra frowned in worry, looking at his best friend as she said, “ It kind feels like she wants me to be the hulk or something like that sometimes, and expecting me to be perfect..”

Terra imagined that in his head and shuddered, “ Yeah….no that would be terrifying to see you as a hulk”

Aqua narrowed her eyes as she said, “ What, you think I would be scary if I was Hulk?” she asked as Terra said, slightly teasing her “ said, “ Not only terrifying, you would make an ugly looking Hulk.” he said as she scoffed, “ Oh shut it Gollum!!” she said, laughing 

She playfully swatted at him as he dodged it, both of them laughing, as the brunette looked happy she was in a better mood as she said, “ Now c’mon, tell me about your day. How was training for you?”

He chuckled as he said, “Well, if you want to know, all we did was sparing, and he was helping me improve my form, along with using the strength of your friends or the people you care about through your heart.” he told her

She looked at him curiously, asking, “ Using the strength of the people you care and love? How do you do that?”

“ It’s complicated, I’ll tell you another time. Now c’mon, aren’t we supposed to play games together Miss Miki?” he asked, poking her cheeks with an amused look as she slightly puffed her cheeks out as she said, “ Fine, we’ll play….Mr.Gibbler.” she used his last name as well making him groan, “ I seriously wish I didn’t tell you my last name…”

“Too bad, so sad. Get over it Mr.Grumpy cat.” she laughed, teasing him. “ Okay Wednesday Addams, game on. Loser has to buy ice cream for the winner.” He told her as Aqua said, “ It’s on!” as they both started to play together, both of them focused on their game so much they didn’t notice the lilacs and primrose along with forget-me-nots blooming around their feet as they kept playing their games together, having fun, joking around, teasing each other, and making references to things they liked.

‘....even though times were hard at home...mom was as cold and abusive at home as ever, acting like it was love, Isa was getting more distant and Piri was getting older which was not a good thing since she would possibly get the same treatment mom was giving me and Isa...I still had a ray of light in all of this darkness...and that was Terra. He always helped me cheer up when needed, and we would tease each other and make jokes, and play games together all the time whenever we hung out. To me, it was like he could part the clouds in the sky, just by his smile or his jokes...everything was perfect…

…..at least...it was until ‘The Incident’ ruined everything.’
