Chapter 8

Jimmy waved to the woman at the desk before exiting the office. Apparently, it wasn't his history book he was forgetting, but geometry! It turns out that his mom had come home because she forgot one of her tools or whatever at home, and noticed that he had left his book at home... or something like that. He wasn't quite sure. Either way, he had it now. Jimmy tucked the book under his arm, stopping at a water fountain. He was about to get a drink when he heard someone clear their throat. Jimmy turned slowly, instantly regretting stopping at the fountain. He let out a nervous sigh, trying his best to push past the kids who now blocked his way. He squeaked in surprise as one of them grabbed his shoulder, pushing him back.

"Where do you think you're going, shrimp?" the leader, known as Eric, growled. Jimmy kept his gaze low, not wanting to provoke the older teen.

"I-I just want to go to class." he whispered. Eric smirked, slamming him against the wall. This caused Jimmy to drop his textbook. He tried to get away, but the senior grip was strong. Eric was about to say something when they heard footsteps nearby. Jimmy tried to scream, but his mouth was quickly covered. Against his better judgement, he bit Eric's hand. The older teen let out a screech, pulling away.

"Y-you-... you little freak! You'll pay for that!" Eric yelled. Next thing Jimmy knew, he was on the ground, his glasses on the floor in front of him as blood began to drip from his nose. His head was spinning. Jimmy grabbed his glasses, putting them on. He looked up, just barely dodging a kick from one of the other kids.

"Please! S-stop!" Jimmy cried. Nevertheless, they kept coming at him, kicking and punching at him as hard as they could. He wasn't quick enough to avoid every attack, however, and took a few hits. Jimmy looked over, noticing that his textbook was in reach. That's when he noticed a voice in the back of his head. It was telling him to do things... awful things. Jimmy knew that this was associated with his nightmares. Not knowing what else to do, he listened to it. He went limp, closing his eyes.

"Oh shit! You knocked the kid out!" he heard one of the girls gasp. The group argued for a bit before they all began to leave one by one. Jimmy slowly opened his eyes to see that Eric now had his back to him. He couldn't help but grin as an odd feeling washing over him. Whatever it was, it took control of him. He grabbed his textbook, slowly stalking up behind the senior. Jimmy raised the object above him, bringing it down on the back of Eric's head as hard as he could. The teen fell, and Jimmy crawled on top of him. He brought the book down again and again, unable to control his laughter as blood splattered all over both himself and the floor, accompanied by a symphony of cracking as Eric's skull was reduced to mush. He watched as his victims body began to twitch and spasm beneath him before becoming eerily still. Jimmy stopped and watched as he licked the blood off his fingers. He couldn't help but let out a groan, enjoying the feeling the blood gave him. It was purely euphoric. Jimmy took a deep breath, shakily reaching forward. He pressed his fingers to Eric's neck, moving his blood soaked hair out of the way. Jimmy was both relieved and frustrated when he felt a very faint pulse. He wrapped his hands around the older teen's neck, a smile forming on his face once more. Jimmy figured that since Eric was already unconscious, he wouldn't be able to stop him. He wanted to finish the job, but stopped when he heard a voice call his name. It was his brother.

"Jimmy?!" Gregory gasped, running over. This snapped Jimmy out of his trance almost instantly. He let out a cry and let go of Eric's neck, realizing the magnitude of what he had just done.

"Oh my-... oh my god! I'm a monster!" Jimmy sobbed, backing away from the scene. He watched as Gregory and one other teen ran up to him, totally disregarding the unconscious student on the floor. Jimmy recognized this boy. It was the guy that Gregory had been stalking online. His name was Johnny, if he remembered correctly.

"N-no, you're not a monster! I-I'm sure this wasn't your fault... it couldn't have been!" Gregory exclaimed, pulling him close. Jimmy just shook his head, burying his face into his twin's comforting shoulder.

"I-I... I hurt him so bad, Greg." he muttered. His brother just nodded slowly.

"I know. But... it'll be ok. I'm sure we'll find some way to fix this." Gregory whispered, rubbing his back gently. Jimmy just hoped that he was right.
