Chapter 26

Gregory jumped a bit when he heard the door bell ring. He had almost forgot that Johnny was coming over. He quickly made his way to the front door, opening it. He was shocked by Johnny's appearance. The Brit looked as though he had been hit by a truck. Repeatedly.

"Dude, are you ok?" he asked.

"I... well, I am now. I wasn't like 10 minutes ago though."

"... what happened?"

Johnny looked down at his feet, letting out a nervous huff. Gregory's eyes narrowed, and he grabbed the older teens wrist, forcing him to come inside. They sat on the couch, and Gregory continued to stare at him. He was pale and shaky. His friend soon spoke up.

"I started to turn, Gregory. During the day."

He was horrified.

"What the-? During the day?! How is that even possible?!"

"I don't know... I had to use some of the ingredients from my desk to stop it. As selfish as it sounds, I honestly don't think that I will be able to get Jimmy's stuff done until I find a way to control my own transformations." Johnny explained, looking quite embarrassed. Gregory nodded.

"I understand. Take care of yourself first, man. Jimmy seems to be ok, although after the whole dead body thing I guess I'm not sure..."

"... why aren't you sure?"

Gregory shrugged.

"I don't know... he's just been so calm as of late, it's just weird."

"I see. Well I'm glad you aren't mad. I-... I'm sorry." Johnny mumbled.

"It's totally fine! Like I just said, it's important to take care of yourself. I learned that the hard way... in the other timeline, of course." he sighed. The Brit nodded. He seemed to be thinking. Gregory knew why. The two actually didn't bring up the other timeline very often. Not in regular conversation, at least. Not unless something serious was afoot. Of course, the fact that Johnny had turned during the day was a pretty big issue. He had never heard of anything like it.

"I remember that quite well. I'm glad you learned from that experience."

"Yeah... so, is there anything I can do to help you? With your wolf stuff, that is." Gregory questioned. Johnny shrugged.

"I don't know. Just stay cautious, I guess. If you notice me acting weird during the day, then you should probably get away." the older teen told him. Gregory really didn't know how to feel about that. Frustrated for sure. Not only did he had to keep an eye on Jimmy, but now he had to keep an eye on Johnny too. Hopefully Gavin would stay relatively normal. Well, as normal as Gavin could be.

"I'll be sure to keep an eye on you then! You have to promise me that I won't see anything too weird though."

Johnny chuckled.

"I don't think I can promise that. You know how weird things are nowadays!"

Gregory was about to say something when he heard thumping for the next room over. Jimmy soon appeared int the doorway, a strained look on his face as he tried to make out what was in front of him.

"Gregory?"

"What?"

"... I don't know. I just wanted to make sure that you were still here."

"Why wouldn't I be?" he questioned. Jimmy shrugged.

"You're just weird like that, dude! ... is that Johnny I see?"

The Brit spoke up.

"Yes, it's me. Oh, that reminds me! I have your phone."

The boys face lit up.

"I completely forgot about that! Thanks." he purred. Gregory watched as his twin shuffled over, holding out his hand. Johnny gently gripped Jimmy's wrist, setting the device into his hand. Jimmy's maroon eyes were shining, although without his glasses they looked eerily red. It worried Gregory beyond belief. He wondered if his brother knew what he was, or who he used to be.

"You're welcome."

Jimmy smiled.

"So, am I allowed to stay in the room, or where you talking about something scandalous?"

The two exchanged a look, Johnny shrugging. Gregory turned back towards him.

"You can stay if you want. It wasn't anything too spicy."

Jimmy nodded, making his way onto the floor. The three sat and talked for a while, complaining every once in a while about the draft coming from the window that had yet to be repaired from the last time Johnny went feral. Everything was pretty calm until the Brits phone began to ring.

"Are you ever coming home?" Gregory heard Gavin hiss over the phone. Johnny rolled his eyes.

"Yes, Gavin. I will be home soon. I'm just talking to Gregory and Jimmy for a bit."

The Brits continued to talk for a while, so Gregory and Jimmy went to the kitchen for a snack. They figured that they would leave Johnny alone while he heatedly spoke with his brother. They knew that it was never a good idea to get in the way of bickering twins.
