Chapter 20

Johnny sighed as the adult applied the last bandage, covering what was hopefully the last of his wounds. He slowly sat up, looking around. He didn't recall coming here, nor leaving his own home. All Johnny could remember was filing through the papers in his desk before waking up in Gregory's living room.

"Are you alright now, honey? Do you need anything else?" His friends mom asked. He shook his head.

"I'm ok. Thank you very much."

She nodded and smiled, turning to her own set of twins.

"I'm going to call Mrs. Toast. I'm sure she'd like to know where her boys are."

With that, she was gone. Johnny looked down at himself. He was surrounded by broken glass, as well as what looked like tufts of fur. Glancing up, he noticed the distressed look on his brothers face.

"Hey... what's wrong?"

"What-...  what's wrong? What's wrong?! You turned into a giant wolf and tried to eat me! That's what!" Gavin exclaimed. Johnny's eyes widened, and he quickly looked at Gregory. The teen just gave him a big shrug, clearly frustrated with the whole situation.

"Jeez... I'm sorry, Gavin."

Johnny felt awful. He couldn't believe that he was still as werewolf. Maybe the cure from the last timeline didn't carry over to this one? In that case, he shouldn't be a werewolf either since he was never bit. Johnny jumped when he felt someone poke his arm. He looked over, his eyes meeting a pair of big maroon ones.

"Do you think that you ate anybody?" Jimmy questioned. He frowned.

"I don't think so. My stomach doesn't feel full or hurt a whole lot. Just sore from the broken glass."

"Hmm... lame."

"What? You were hoping that I killed and ate somebody?"

The younger teen went silent. Johnny glanced over at his brother, who had an almost knowing look in his tired eyes. Gregory leaned over, whispering something to Jimmy. The two whispered back and forth until Gregory looked at them.

"I'm going to put Jimmy back to bed. He's... tired."

"Ok. Good night then, Jimbo." Gavin sighed, patting his shoulder gently. Jimmy just nodded, patting him back before the two left. This left Johnny and Gavin alone. The Brits looked at each other. After a few moments of quiet, they heard the twin's mom enter the room.

"Your mom is on her way, boys. She'll be here very soon." she told them. Johnny nodded, the nervousness welling up inside him. He knew that his mother was going to be pissed. At one of them, at least.

"Thank you, ma'am. Do you think she's angry?" he asked. The woman shrugged.

"She didn't sound too mad. She seemed a little shaken up, though."

"That's understandable. I-... I'm sorry that I've caused so many issues for us, Gavin." Johnny mumbled. His twin let out a small chuckle.

"It's alright. I know it's not you fault. Unless you purposely turned into a werewolf, then we're going to have a problem." Gavin told him. Johnny rolled his eyes.

"Of course I didn't do this on purpose! That would be stupid!"

The two continued to talk for a while, but stopped when they heard the doorbell ring. The adult answered the door. Johnny recognized his mothers voice.

"H-hello! Oh jeez, please tell me that my boys are still here... they are, right?"

"They are! Please, come in."

Johnny looked up from the floor, subconsciously trying to cover his exposed half with his arms. His mother glared down them. She was clearly trying to control her temper in front of the stranger.

"... stand up. We will discuss this more when we get home" she ordered. The two did as they were told, Gavin helping him stand up straight. Johnny was still feeling pretty weak. The American shuffled her feet nervously.

"So, I guess you've got everything sorted out now, huh?" she asked.

"Yes, thank you. I apologize for my boys behavior. ... I'm Martha, by the way. It's nice to meet you." (i got these names from the internet just chill lol)

"I'm Anne, and you're welcome!"

The two shook hands. Johnny and Gavin exchanged a glance. They knew that these two were definitely going to be talking a lot more after this. The two had a sort of chemistry, like they could hang out for hours on end. In fact, they seemed to be starting up a conversation already. Johnny leaned over to his brother.

"I'm going upstairs to talk to Gregory. I'll be back." he whispered. Gavin nodded. Johnny made his way to the second floor. As he approached the door, he could hear Gregory and Jimmy talking to each other. Just moments later, Gregory walked out into the hall, closing the door behind him. The younger teen turned, jumping.

"Don't sneak up on me, man!" Gregory hissed, his cheeks red. Johnny smiled a bit.

"Sorry. What were you two talking about?"

"It was nothing, really. Just saying good night... or good morning? It's 4am, I don't know."

Johnny nodded, deciding it would be best not to argue.

"Well my mother is here, so I just wanted to let you know that we're leaving.  ... I guess good night/morning to you!"

"Yep! Talk to you later?"

"Of course."

The two parted ways, and Johnny returned to his twins side. He knew that his mother was going to scold them when they got home, or maybe even when they got in the car. He followed his family out of the house, scared for what was going to happen next.
