what taehyung didn't expect was a smiling jungkook standing in front of him.

if being amused repeatedly by the same person was given as an award then jungkook would have it right now because taehyung as of now was hella amused by his behaviour.

he never expected jungkook to say hi with that smile. that heart-stealing bunny smile that the raven head didn't want to look at because god damn, jeon jungkook has the prettiest smile he has ever seen.

"hey" taehyung absently muttered, with a void tone as if it was an exhale of forced words.

"what are you doing here?" the faded green haired lad asked, rather looking curious than furious.

the raven head wondered why jungkook wasn't jumping down on his throat yet. why was he giving him the chance to even speak after what happened? isn't he aggrieved? or is he actually luring him out to kill him somewhere quiet? taehyung had several scenarios clouding his head.

"hello? earth to kim taehyung?" the faded green haired lad waved his hand in front of taehyung's face who blinked and fastened his eyes at him.

"i. . . i um i had something to talk with you"

"i bet you do. there's a lot to talk about after all" jungkook snickered, looking up at the sunny sky, squinting his eyes from the sunrays hitting his sight directly.

taehyung watched him, just watched how calmly the faded green haired lad acted as if they are on good terms as if they are friends. the raven head dreaded that idea but at the same time, he wondered what it would be like if he and jungkook never were so bitter toward each other and actually were friends? would it be as interesting as being enemies?

"you're lucky, today i got discharged and was on my way to jimin's place. if you reached any late than now, you would have lost the chance to talk because jimin won't let me meet you no matter what. i mean, it might not be that important for either of us so- yeah."

"can we sit somewhere comfortable and talk? if that's okay with you" the raven head offered, looking away when jungkook shifted his gaze from upward to him.

he nodded his head lazily. "sure, your place then?"

"huh?" taehyung hesitated, he was really not expecting all of this.

"i mean if you want to"

"i- yeah sure. let's do that" taehyung pressed his lips together before speaking again, "then. . . let's get into my car?"

"yeah"

jungkook was in awe when he entered the kim taehyung's mansion. he knew this man was rich but he didn't know he was this filthy rich.

his foot clicked on the polished floor that even reflected his face and body because of how radiant the entire place is. the big gates that opened when they arrived, the guards that greeted them, the smell of a foreign scent that was pleasant hitting his nostril once he steps inside the house, the entire hall room that looked straight out of a fairytale's palace's inside.

taehyung couldn't help but simper at how jungkook was gawking around. it looked cute. how jungkook was so unguarded.

both males walked into the hall room before taehyung motioned jungkook to sit on the couch while he also sat on the opposite one. facing each other.

"so what did you want to talk about?" jungkook acted oblivious to the situation and taehyung could read the room. but instead of getting wary of the other male's such obvious act of innocence, he rather found it helpful. at least taehyung can act now too, he won't look bad this time.

"what happened that night. . . i feel bad. i should have stopped-"

"so you're apologizing?" jungkook urged the raven head to get to the point and getting straight to the point now, taehyung faltered. was he really going to apologize? to this man?

pressing his lips together the raven head thought for a while before nodding faintly. "yeah. i. . . i'm sorry"

"well, i don't forgive you" taehyung raised his head and stared at the faded green haired male who leaned against the couch, poking the silver ring on his lower lip with his tongue while looking at him, disinterested.

"you don't have to"

"really?"

"i'd like it if you did though" jungkook chuckled at the response while taehyung just wanted the ground to swallow him. what was he even doing right now?

he didn't even feel bad for jungkook. he didn't right?

"i suppose namjoon is the reason you're here"

the raven head grimaced slightly at how wrong his assumption was. he was here because he genuinely wanted to apologize because he felt bad for jungkook- wait, taehyung doesn't feel bad for him. no, he can't. so maybe, maybe jungkook was right. namjoon is the reason he is here. what else hah.

taehyung kept silent and looked anywhere but at the male's face who looked disappointed for a mere second before he shook his head nonchalantly and smirked. silly him, he really thought taehyung was genuinely sorry.

but that doesn't matter. he didn't want his apology, to begin with. he would prefer something beneficial instead of a worthless sorry.

"you know, i don't really hate you for what you did that night. i figured something while being in the hospital" jungkook nudged the silver ring on his lower lip with his fingertips while keeping a thinking face on, leaving taehyung uptight for those few seconds before he spoke again. "we are practically strangers who constantly just stumbles upon each other. why should i even waste such emotion as anger on you? on a stranger?" taehyung was unknown to the slight ache in somewhere his body, somewhere around his heart when he heard those words.

of course they are nothing to each other. jungkook was just stating the obvious so why kim taehyung the man who's unable to be hurt is now hurting without his own knowing?

"so you can tell, i didn't come all the way here for your apology, kim." the aforementioned male tilted his head at jungkook, dumbfounded.

"then?"

"teach me your moves"

"what?"

"you heard me. teach me that move you did at that time" he simply let out, not a single emotion showed on his face.

"you want me to teach you?" taehyung was at a loss for words. jungkook is a boy full of surprises but right now he wasn't quite sure if he liked the surprises or not.

"mhm"

"why? i mean. . . won't you feel small?"

"small? what's there to feel small about? that move was sick, i wanna learn it" the faded green haired lad stared at his nails, showing taehyung no attention.

"jeon. hey. damnit, look at me!" the raven head wasn't liking how jungkook was treating him. it was as if they are making a deal that taehyung had to oblige. but it wasn't that easy, taehyung might be guilty but he wasn't a fool. he had no reason to teach the male his secret tricks.

and jungkook knew that very well.

"yeah?" jungkook trailed his eyes from his nails to the agitated male who gritted his teeth and glared at him. "woah, now that's not a face of someone who wants forgiveness" jungkook chuckled, getting on every last nerve of the raven head.

calm down kim taehyung. he is just playing. he is just-

"you might already know that i was hospitalized for a week or so. and i guess you know the reason behind it too" jungkook spoke again, putting his head against the headboard of the couch, feeling embarrassed yet relieved to let it out.

"yeah. . . apparently i triggered your past traumas. . ." the raven head didn't know he was uncomfortable. talking about someone's trauma like it's nothing- he can't do that so he rather would like to avoid the topic but jungkook had other plans.

"yes. you know why i couldn't bring myself to race again after the first race we did?" taehyung shook his head instantly, jungkook smirked seeing for once the raven head looked interested.

"it wasn't because i was ashamed to be defeated nor was it because of the disappointed crowd. it was because of me, myself and i" the faded green haired male looked down at nothing for a second before facing taehyung again, the raven head flinched when he saw a small smile curving his pierced lips.

despite of him smiling why does he look so sad?

what could possibly hurt the jeon jungkook if not him?

"i lost someone very close to me because of this very bike racing" taehyung felt his eyes widening at the words and before he knew he spoke out his thoughts aloud.

"y-you too?" jungkook stopped smiling and stared at taehyung, surprised.

"you too then?" he laughed, not in a way to mock the male's feelings. rather in a way where taehyung felt comforted.

so he wasn't alone.

"who did you lose?" jungkook asked and taehyung licked his lips, contemplating if talking about this topic with jungkook was even worth it.

"my mother"

"oh. . . that's a very close one indeed" jungkook had an apologetic look on his face. maybe they really shouldn't have started this topic. but now since jungkook knows, he has a right to know too.

"what about you? who did you lose?" jungkook suddenly felt awkward. but he had no intention of delaying his answer so he instantly replied.

"my hyung"

"your own brother?"

"no" jungkook chuckled before staring at the table in front of him sightlessly "i liked him, in that way"

"ah i see" taehyung nodded, looking somewhere else. now silence engulfing them.

taehyung wondered who was this person that held the power to make jungkook so vulnerable? regardless, he was very important to him, that's for sure.

"i. . . i was the cause of his death" he mumbled, his voice trembling when he did so.

taehyung noticed it all and got worried to see jungkook shivering in his seat. he had his both hands fisted together as they shook rapidly.

"hey, you don't have to tell me all that. you're shaking, jeon stop. it's okay!" taehyung stood up when he heard sobs coming from jungkook.

taehyung's feet moved on their own. as if he had no control over himself. what's wrong with him? why was he so worried for this man in front of him? shouldn't he be pleased to see jungkook suffer since that's one thing that intrigued taehyung towards jungkook, because he loved the look of misery on his face? so now he suddenly wanna change that? now he doesn't wanna see him suffer? no that can't be the case. taehyung doesn't pity jungkook.

but maybe, maybe he relates to him.

after all, he loved his mother too, love doesn't have to be only romantic after all. love can have many shape and form. even though he doesn't remember his mother's face that well, it happened a long long time ago after all.

be as it may, he also lost someone close to him, someone who meant the entire world to him at some point in his life when he was a little naive kid.

but at the same time he and jungkook were worlds apart. what the faded green haired lad feels was far worse than what he felt. does he even feel bad about what happened anymore? maybe no, so are his feelings even valid in front of jungkook?

taehyung strolled closer to the sobbing man, placing his hand on jungkook's shoulder who flinched and immediately wiped his tears with the back of his sleeve, sniffling soundlessly.

and before taehyung knew he raised his head and grabbed taehyung's arm making the man starlet as he pulled him by the arm resulting taehyung to stumble and almost fall on top of him, if it wasn't for his fast reflex he would have been on the other male's lap. but thankfully he placed his hand on the headboard of the couch, supporting his body above jungkook's.

jungkook smirked, gazing at the other male's face that was very close to his own, "i don't need your pity. if you feel even an ounce bit of sorry, then be useful to me, kim"

taehyung should have gotten irritated by that cocky tone and the way jungkook pulled him but the raven head felt nothing. he just observed the pearl like tears shimmering in those big doe bronze eyes, he saw the way jungkook's lips trembled as if he was controlling himself from crying.

idiot. there are still tears in your eyes. taehyung internally chuckled before throwing a smirk at jungkook.

"okay, jeon. what do you wanna learn?"

"sweet" jungkook smiled slyly, looking cute in the raven head's eyes without even knowing.
